I had a delicious beef soup. Excellent. Authentic cuisine. Small and cozy.

The mandu are delicious and cheap. The rest of the food is decent. It's a shame it's not served with a smile. You can tell they're worn out by the work, but unfortunately they don't radiate the joy of cooking. But what's on the plate says otherwise (it's very good and well served).

I visit Kimchi regularly and am always impressed by the food! It tastes just like the atmosphere: homey, warm, and welcoming. I can truly recommend it from the bottom of my heart! The owner and her husband are truly wonderful, hardworking people. 🫶🏻

An absolute disaster. The waitress, or rather the owner, is the worst dragon you can imagine. She yells at the customers who ask about their orders, which take hours anyway. She also yelled at us because we asked if we could pay by card. Unbelievable and rude. I've never experienced anything like it in my life. The food is okay, but it doesn't make up for the poor service and the bad atmosphere in the place.... Never going there again!!!

As a person who lived in Aachen for a very long time... don't go there! My parents and I visited it on a Sunday, which I know is the time where people go out, but this was a disaster. There are only five tables available, two of which are outside on the sidewalk, which is not necessarily bad. We asked the owner if we can sit outside, but she completely ignored us. Okay, we sat and had to fill out a paper with all the menu items we wanted. We gave it to her and waited ONE HOUR, even though not all tables were full. And even then, our food got ready at different times, so while I was just with a drink my parents got their food. Well, if at least the food is good it wouldn't be such a big deal, right? My parents wanted ramen, which is not THE typical Korean item, but we assumed that if it is mentioned, it would be good... she served them INSTANT NOODLES with a bland broth and a few vegetables. I ordered bibimbap, which was delicious, I admit it, but for three items, two of which are the same, I could have cooked that in half an hour with freshly made noodles. The owner, who was also the only one working there, didn't answer any questions regarding the food and screamed at my mother for wanting the bill explained, which is not acceptable behaviour, even if you are stressed or not in a good mood. There are better Korean options in Aachen, so please don't go there...

Had a disappointing experience that by seeing by many reviews, it may be the same lady. We were visiting as tourists so we had tried to translate all the signs independently ourselves. We had marked down all the food we had wanted to try and gave it to the lady at the front (she was eating while hovered over preparing customer’s food) After giving our order she had started speaking to us in German but we asked her if we could use a translator to understand what she was saying or if she spoke English, instead she had rudely grabbed the paper from us and pointed us away back to our table. We had never experienced this type of customer service especially as tourists. Our trip to Germany had been lovely meeting people so far until this day. Thankful that some users had reviewed it was cash only as we did not know and only had card. While going to get cash was not a problem, we were stunned by the service and had let them know we would not be eating there anymore. The owner had told us to “Okay, go out” and was mumbling with the other owner as she grabbed our drinks away. Upsetting as we were experiencing Aachen for the first time.

I am very disappointed with this restaurant. The service was extremely poor – we waited for an hour and a half, but the food simply didn't arrive. During this time, the manager constantly made excuses and even lied to us. This kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

We had a very disappointing experience here. We waited for an hour and a half without our food arriving. When we asked, we were initially told that we hadn't clearly stated whether we wanted one or two portions. This isn't true – when we ordered, it was clearly confirmed verbally that we wanted two portions. And even if there had been any confusion, we could have asked at any time. What was most shocking, however, was that even if only one portion had been accepted, it hadn't even reached the kitchen or been processed! While we were waiting, we had to ask several times ourselves, but were repeatedly met with an unfriendly and indifferent attitude. In the end, we were even told that we would have to wait two or more hours – that's normal if you want to eat there. Unbelievable! We were also verbally abused – absolutely unacceptable behavior. Such disrespectful treatment of guests is incomprehensible to us. We will definitely not visit this restaurant again and cannot recommend it to anyone.

I love the food there!! Always freshly prepared, warm, and absolutely delicious! I highly recommend the Mandu Ramen or the egg ramen; I eat both there often and enjoy them. The atmosphere is also very nice; the place is small and cozy, it's never too noisy, and the walls are decorated with pretty pictures. A huge tip for ramen fans; they have a huge selection of Korean ramen and many other Korean dishes like bibimbab and side dishes like Mandu. Truly my favorite place for ramen and Korean dishes; a full five stars!

The food is absolutely tasty and the portions are rather large. I am not korean but eating here feels like eating a home cooked meal. Highly recommend the bibimbap. I just wish card payment was accepted.

We liked the food, my bad rating does not apply to it. Today we came to this restaurant for the first time. We understood that it is self-service when we ordered, but the fact that we are obliged to bring the plates back is not obvious, that is, there is no sign saying this or an obvious place where you can put it. But when we asked for the bill, the employee very rudely told us that we have to do this, ok. Now about the payment. Unfortunately, we only had money on the card and the woman again rudely told us: cash only. I was confused and said politely: excuse me, but why didn't you warn us in advance and didn't write this anywhere? After which she started shouting loudly: pay, you must pay! I was scared, I think something like this happened to me for the first time. She said that we should have asked about it ourselves and shouted that we did not want to pay. Luckily for us, there was another visitor in the restaurant who agreed to give me cash and I transferred the money to his card. This is terrible, I would not wish such an experience on anyone.

Very unfriendly employee. I don't know if she's the owner. She's completely rude; I'll never go to that store again. If you want to be yelled at for no reason, you can experience it at Kimchi.

Affordable, authentic and good portion size

A hidden gem in Aachen. No nonsense and typically Korean. You order your food yourself at the counter and you also pick it up yourself as soon as it is ready. The food is well prepared and the portions are generous. With a bit of luck, parking is reasonably possible in front of the door.

I visited Kimchi and really enjoyed the food. We ordered tofu bulgogi, mandu ramen, gebratene mandu, kimchi jeon, and hotteok for dessert, along with omija tea and apfelschorle. Everything was delicious and the portions were huge for the price – very affordable! The owner/server was super sweet and even gave us free condiments. The only downside was the self-service system. It was a bit confusing, especially for a big group, since it wasn’t always clear whose order was ready or where the condiments went. Also, they accept only cash, so be prepared. Overall, highly recommend for tasty Korean food and friendly service!

Honestly, I've experienced a lot, but this was the absolute worst. The boss served us with a face like we'd just ruined his evening. Zero friendliness, completely cold – really unpleasant. And the food? I don't know if they forgot my order or if my dish had to be prepared. The two people I was with had long since finished eating, while I was still sitting there, like I'd just been ordered and not picked up. Really embarrassing.

Mega delicious food, just like “Mama’s”. Simple principle of ordering: Select from pictures that are marked spicy and not spicy, vegetarian, etc. Simply tick it on the slip and hand it in. Yummy !!!

Very tasty food, large portions and fair prices. You order using a piece of paper on which you mark your dishes - unconventional but works well :) The owners are very direct. This can sometimes seem too direct, but it is never meant to be rude. There are many vegetarian and vegan dishes. Overall, great place!

Kimchi is my absolute favorite restaurant! 😊 I enjoy coming here every time because the food is incredibly tasty and freshly prepared. The bibimbap is my highlight. The ingredients vary according to the season and it's a surprise every time :) Plus, the staff is warm. Sometimes you get home-cut fruit or a free dessert. ☺️ This is totally cute :)

The female boss was extremely rude and yelled at customers. Unable to pay with card, she shouted at us to go to the bank next door to withdraw money. If you can't pay with cash, please let us know by writing it at the door instead of telling us thank you after you finish your meal. Will never come again.

It felt very authentic. The food was super nice and we’re not used to spicy, but it was a pleasure to try it! Cried a little and kept eating 😂 it was that good! Maybe the space is a bit small, but I think it adds more to the Korean experience. Regarding the 1 star reviews that I saw people gave, I think it really matters also on the mood you have when you come to this place! If you are polite and want to try very good food, take the kimchi, the mandu, the things they highlight on their menu behind the kassa. Also try the cold tea! Never had such a savoury, cooling drink like the red tea with pine nuts in it! Amazing!🤩

Worst experience I've ever had! The service was very bad, the employee was rude and even yelled at us. She followed us outside and continued to scream at us. I've never experienced anything like this in my life. I really wouldn't recommend anyone to come here. The food wasn't even good or tasty.

The food is good, especially the tteokbokki and tofu ramen. However, the service was the worst I’ve ever experienced. I had to wait an hour for my food, and when I asked about the wait time, the woman raised her voice and said “JUST WAIT!”… only giving two starts because of the tteokbokki…

Food can be very good, but also very bad. Very inconsistent. If you then take the Tteokbokki, Mandu or JapChae, the rest is just mediocre to bad. Service is very bad, everyone just shouts. Ambiance... Well, I don't have to say much, anyone who has been there knows that it can be done better.

The food was delicious. The price was also great. The staff seemed rather annoyed and a bit unfriendly. The atmosphere wasn't particularly cozy. It's probably better suited for takeout.

This was the worst ramen soup I have ever eaten. I won't go to a restaurant or pay €11 for a €0.99 instant soup with a few fresh vegetables. The kimchi was quite good.

A very enjoyable experience eating here. The Korean owner is very enthusiastic, fun, chaotic but very Ordnung. haha 10/10 for everything. The only thing is that the food took a little longer to come out, but in return it was very cheap and delicious

We waited over an hour for our food. Unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy eating the food. Other guests were given priority so that in the end there was no time left. The lady who runs the business is very harsh...not a positive experience

A small shop run by an old couple who can speak Chinese and German and has a restroom. You have to order by yourself, pick up food from the front desk and clear away the dishes. The price is affordable, you can eat a meal for less than 10💶. The taste is also very good, I go there often recently.

A small food stall with complete self-service, the menus on the tables/wall (pick up and return) are not identical. To order, go to the counter and wait for the finished food to be called, and then pick it up again at the front. The taste was ok, but it blew me away and now it doesn't.

Self-service! We sat outside for 30 minutes until we asked if anyone else was coming. We were then told that we could get everything ourselves like in a cafeteria. Even the most expensive ramen disappointed me. You'll be full for a narrow stable, but it's really not a highlight.

Had a kimchi ramen that tasted ok, but it was definitely not special. Just a bowl of instant noodles, with added kimchi and plain soup. It can hardly be called a Ramen (unless you've never had Ramen before). Maybe the more traditional korean dishes in the menu are better but I would not give it another try, unfortunately

A small and very authentic restaurant run by an older couple. The service was excellent. For example, an extra egg was offered (by itself) because the egg had been cooked for too long. We ordered starters and main courses and everything was very tasty and reasonably priced. A must when you are in Aachen!

Authentic korean food. If you're looking for a variety of spices and aroma, you'll love this cuisine. Also I recommend this place to everyone who likes kimchi, cause it's self made here. The service is fast and friendly, the prices are low and the food is gold. The food is fresh and has a fine taste. The restaurant gets full frequently, so you better come earlier or even book a table to sit down or bring some time with you. If you're not visiting this place, you'll miss something.

By far the most authentic Korean in Aachen. Price performance is extremely good and I often spend 45+ minutes on the road at lunchtime just to have lunch there. The space there is a bit tight and is particularly full at lunchtime, but the taste of kimchi is definitely worth it. Mainly because there are few authentic Asians in Aachen.

The noodles are the cheapest instant noodles and they are undercooked. The ramen does not have vega written on it. There is no meat at all. It tastes like noodles. At this price, it is not as good as eating a doner next door. There is no service at all. When you finish eating, you have to get it yourself. The boss doesn’t speak much German and can only speak single words😹

One of the best ramen restaurants in Aachen

We were here for lunch, but I've been here for dinner before and my experience was a little different this second time. I ordered the bibimbap, kimchi and the fried vegetarian sushi rolls (unfortunately the place doesn't offer fish rolls). The bibimbap was delicious, the meat was tender and flavorful. The price is €9.8, the portion wasn't huge but it's worth it. Kimchi (€3.3) was also ok, not the best I've tried here in Aachen, but tasty. The biggest problem was the sushi rolls (€3.3), something didn't taste good at all, I think the egg or some vegetable pieces were expired. That's a shame, the last time I was here I liked everything and the food was good. After that, I also have to report that my friends who ordered ramen also found a few pieces of eggshell, not pleasant. Before, I would recommend this place, but now I don't know.

Bibimbap with egg is great here. Love the broccoli. But you only come to eat for a short time and don't stay for long. Calling and asking if there is a space available usually doesn't lead to anything; it's best to just take a look and, if in doubt, wait a moment.

This super friendly little shop is at the top of my restaurant list because of the lovely family atmosphere of an older man and his wife who run the place together on their own. Very fresh food and fair prices. I love it!

It is so good! I go there at least once a month (my girlfriend even more often) and I'm really a fan. It tastes very tasty, the portions are perfect and all at a very good price.

A nice snack, but unfortunately it's nothing more. Food was definitely OK for the price, unfortunately we couldn't drink the ginger tea because it was made from instant powder and only consisted of sugar. It's a shame, after the good recommendations here I was a bit disappointed.

A service-optimized snack bar. You can do this if there are insurmountable language barriers. But I don't give it good reviews. Food was good, but all in all not as cheap as the ambience and service would suggest.

We found the shop via Google and spontaneously decided to have our evening meal here. Unfortunately, the chef only speaks broken German, but is friendly and quick in preparation. The dishes were delicious and authentic. The ramen is definitely recommended and an asset to Aachen. Unfortunately, there are a few deductions here because, as is often the case in such shops, you can only pay in cash. If that changes there will be one more star.

Were there for the first time today & I can only recommend it. To order you fill out a small piece of paper where you tick the things you want, I think that's really good & I think it would be great if something like that existed more often. The owner was really nice & the food was also very tasty & inexpensive!!! I can only recommend!

This is no Michelin restaurant but for the price, and the performance they do well. I have to emphasise value, because on taste its own, it may not be amazing. Ordered kimchi fried rice, gim bap, teok bok ki, kimchi pancake, jap chae and jasmine tea. All were decent, and well portioned. Tea pot was very small, probably intended for one person than two. These were for two people, and more than enough. All for 43 euros, which I found reasonable. One person working and the kitchen seemed small but I appreciated her efforts. She is making an honest living, and has my respect. (Also the reason for 5 stars)

Das beste Koreanische Restaurant in Aachen. Der Inhaber kommt aus Korea und entsprechen die Rezeptur der Gerichte. Dadurch, dass der Laden sehr klein ist, Sitzt man leider nicht so gemütlich, doch das leckere Esse lässt einen darüber hinweg sehen

Die Nudelsuppe ist gut jedoch gibt es ähnliche Restaurants bei denen es mir persönlich besser Geschmeckt hat. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältniss ist aber vollkommen angebracht. Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und engagiert!
