Kiez Vegan in Berlin

Food is great and all, but the last few times I've been there it always seems like they have no interest in making money

Had a nice mixed salad and a vegetable patty with vegan yoghurt. I asked if everything is served vegan and the staff said yes. But my friend ordered pasta with cream sauce and I was first confused seeing the staff opening usual cream in the kitchen. Still unsure if he used it for us but the dish was served with parmesan as well which for sure did taste a bit to cheesy to be vegan. I asked if the food for sure is vegan and without milk and he showed the package of the yoghurt and for the cream sauce he went to a storage room and got an older empty package for vegan cream. I am still unsure which one he actually used for the pasta but it got worse after my friend finished her meal. She felt bad so I insisted in getting to see the cheese package. After a little look he brought us a package of usual parmesan cheese including milk and even egg. After explaining that for that reason I asked him when we arrived and that we arent ready to pay that dish he offered us to have it for free. Even though it was nice - thats what I expected. Especially if going to a restaurant called „vegan kiez“. We were also unhappy about the long waiting times. We ordered drinks as well but had to remind the staff to bring it when we were nearly finished eating.

Absolutely lovely little place. I don't know if people know this, but this was actually the first vegan only restaurant in the neighborhood for ages until everyone became more vegan. Tragically because of all the food deliveries, this small shop is facing some hardship and it would really pain me to see it to away. They have the most delicious everything really. The display, the colours and taste of everything is just amazing. And always keep bringing in new dishes too. The amount of food you get is also not to be underestimated!! We went in yesterday, and again I forgot that these are southern people!! They will absolutely make sure you don't leave hungry haha, so the so-called "side salad" is probably enough to feed an adult as it is, and that's just the side! Haha. The owners are these lovely people who put so much care and love into everything, you kinds just want them wrapped up in a cookie too! I can absolutely recommend going there, especially in person and really enjoying these Turkish and Greek delicacies!! I had a moussaka, which for those who don't know, is an absolute must have!

Overall a really nice shop. Had lunch here, the selection is large and the homemade dishes are super tasty and inexpensive! Nevertheless, unfortunately I can only give one star. I took a piece of apple and cinnamon cake with me and when I was eating it at home I noticed that it was moldy on the bottom. I'm sorry, but that's really not possible. It's okay if the cake wasn't freshly baked that day, but then you have to check the quality before you give it out. Not a nice experience.

I’ve been obsessed with the food here since my first time trying it and have been craving it all the time. However, I just moved to 50 meters from this place and have wanted to go like 10+ times within their posted opening hours and it’s always closed. I completely understand needing to modify your schedule as a small business but please, please just update your Google hours accordingly, or at the very least, post a note on the door. It’s not a problem if you just be transparent. People make the time out of their day to get here from much further than me, and I’ve even seen it happen where a group came and looked into the window disappointed and confused. I’m lucky because I live close, but it doesn’t leave people wanting to come back.

Was closed on Saturday after 11am. According to Google it's open and not even a note/note on the window. Mega annoying, it was often the case at Kiez Vegan Friedrichshain that it was closed at will or simply opened hours later.

The food is amazing. All homemade and vegan (except a couple of vegetarian things). Also very affordable

Went in for a late lunch. The display was full of good looking turkish/greek vegan food. The concept was to choose a ”main” and then 3-4 side salads to your plate. We shared mushroom filled crepe and veggie stew, each plate with three salads of choice. We loved every bit of this lunch. It was properly homemade and we left with full stomachs and happy feelings.

Delicious food and excellent attention. Also with gluten free options. Price-quality is impressive! And it tastes always so good and like home!

I used to go sometimes there for a quick lunch and usually get the vegetable pancake with 4 salads for 7€50. Today I ordered a mushrooms-filled pancake with 3 salads and they charged me 11€50. I asked the 2 older ladies why the 4€ difference and they mentioned that they charged my lunch as a “Tagesgericht” (although I wasn’t offer some rice and the pancake is served at ambient temperature compared to the usual Tagesgericht served warm and with much bigger portion). It felt like a rip-off. I am disappointed and will not come back.

So delicious and such nice service. Really good price too!

In short… world class, there’s nothing more to say!

we have been trying to hang out here multiple times these past months. always within the provided opening hours. It's always been closed. which is especially annoying since some of us came from spandau etc. used to come here often years ago, but now i can give more than 1 star for existing (in theory).

Delicious food and lots of choice. Prices okay. We recommend the daily menu with three different salads to choose from.

We had a "veg and three" selection- a vegetarian dish and bits of three salads. The eggplant my wife had was excellent. I had a potato cake dish which i can't fairly judge because it was full of hidden carrot slivers and I don't like carrots.

I had a vegetarian burger with fries. The burger was OK, but tasted boring. The fries lacked any crunch and were vaguely reminiscent of warmed fried potatoes. My companion actually had a baked potato/Kumpir. But it was more like mashed potatoes with lumps. The salad side dish wasn't convincing either. Everything was topped off by pretty lackluster service. We definitely won't be visiting here again.

The patty on the burger is a classic Mücver, you can do that, but then you just have wheat flour flatbreads on wheat flour buns. It should at least be pointed out. Fries made from fresh potatoes, but unfortunately neither crispy nor hot. Even though the shop was empty, we waited a long time for the food and then another few minutes, completely unnecessarily, for the cutlery. My friend had ordered a Kumpir and received a plate with salad (lots of mayonnaise) on a rather gelatinous mashed potato. She hardly wanted to eat any of it. All in all, a mostly disappointing visit.

Great vegan food with a casual, deli atmosphere. The large salad with all the options is excellent, as is the pizza. Everything is deliciously healthy too!

I really enjoy eating here often. Very very tasty. Price/performance completely ok. So many different offerings of salads and hot dishes. What I like best is the dish of the day (warm of your choice) with 3 different salads... Please actually stick to the opening times or update them, as I too have found myself in front of the closed door many times (in the winter months). Otherwise, absolute recommendation 👍🏻

Colorful selection of vegan dishes. We had the dish of the day with various side dishes and were very happy with it. This restaurant is especially worth going to in warm weather because you can sit outside. It's not quite as nice inside. Only cash payment was possible.

I was hoping for more. Unfortunately the desired dish was no longer available and would have had to be recooked?!? And I had to take my chosen alternative (burger with sweet potato fries) with normal fries because I also ran out of sweet potatoes! In terms of taste, it wasn't a taste explosion, just good. But for the price I would have expected more.

Das war seit Jahren die schönste Gastronomieerfahrung für mich. Wie lieb und herzlich wir bedient wurden. Wohler kann man sich kaum fühlen. Das Essen 10/10, sei noch angemerkt. Absolute Empfehlung.

Der Gemüsepuffer hat zwar gut geschmeckt, war aber kalt. Es gab auch nur einen Salat dazu und nicht 3 Salate wie auf der Karte angepriesen. Die Dinkelpizza war ebenfalls nicht richtig heiß und daher zu wenig knusprig und schmackhaft. Schade, es hätte nur ein bisschen mehr gebraucht und wir wären zufrieden gewesen. Wir hatten keine Eile und hätten gerne etwas länger gewartet.

Leider konnte ich keine Steaks finden daher musste ich ein Veganes essen, was sehr versalzen und nach vergammelter Milch geschmeckt hat. Meine Toilette stank danach heftig nach durchfall! Es musste sogar der Handwerker kommen um meine Toilette zu Reparieren, weil sie so verstopft war.

The salads are tasty and fresh. The okra was truly great. Cheap and legit place.

Great vegan food. Good selection salads and hot food. I had meal of day aubergine roasted veg and 3 salads...excellent.. I saw another customer with burger looked v good the chips looked amazing obviously home made hand cut ones. Very much recommend here for vegans and non vegans.

One of the healthier options for an early morning cafe for sure! Tasty overall. We had the burger, manaman, the potato omelette as well as the chocolate cake!

Ich esse da schon seit mehreren Monaten Mittag und kann nicht genug bekommen. Die Mitarbeiter sind immer nett und Freundlich megaa sympathisch. Ihr müsst da unbedingt mal vorbeischauen lohnt sicht echt!!!!!

Kamen wegen der Pizza, leider gab es nur noch eine einzige. Das Essen ist lecker , aber nichts besonderes. Eher ein Ort für ein schnelles Mittagessen als für abends, da die Sitzmöbel und atmosphäre nicht unbedingt zum verweilen einladen. Aber Sonderpunkte, weil alles vegan ist!!

Wir waren gerade zum Mittagessen da und hatten zwei Dinkelpizzen die waren besser als bei unserem Lieblingsitaliener. Dann ein kleinen gemischten Salat die Salate waren sehr frisch und köstlich. Außerdem eine gefüllte Aubergine, perfekt. Sehr freundliche Familie und Service angenehmes Ambiente. Es war einfach alles perfekt, und soooooooo köstlich! Würden wir aus Berlin kommen, wären wir neue Stammgäste. Vielen Dank! :-)

Please accept credit cards, it's not 1993 anymore. It's super annoying and not customer friendly not to accept it. My German bank does not have EC / Giro cards anymore because the system will be terminated in 5 years time. So please, for gods sake...

Super leckere Tagesgerichte zu einem angemessenen Preis. Die Bedienung war super freundlich.

Das Essen war großartig. Hatten 2 mal das Tagesgericht mit Salaten und Kuchen zum Nachtisch. Alles vegan und hausgemacht. Freundliche Mitarbeiter. Einzig die Toilette ist nicht sehr gut gelegen.

Super leckere Burger (5,50€!!) mit fluffigem Brötchen! Die Pizza ist auch richtig gut, der Smoothie auch. Es gibt eine große Auswahl auch an frischen Salaten. Alles vegan! Sehr freundliche Bedienung, man hört nichts von der Straße. Kartenzahlung ging nicht. Wir sind einfach schnell zum nächsten Geldautomaten gegangen. Mein Lieblingsrestaurant in Berlin!

God mat och trevligt bemötande.

Eigentlich wollten wir nur eine Kleinigkeit. Am Ende saßen wir mehrere Stunden bei leckeren Gerichten, tollem Kuchen und sehr gutem Kaffee.

Sehr leckere Salate. Der große Salatteller besteht aus vielen verschiedenen Salaten und macht satt! Auch der Bananen-Schokokuchen ist empfehlenswert 🙂 Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen! Und würden wieder kommen. 🙂 Die Atmosphäre im Laden war sehr gemütlich und entspannend.

Schöner Ort und leckeres Essen. Wir hatten zunächst Herzhaftes, als Nachtisch noch Kuchen. Alles war richtig lecker, preislich voll im Rahmen. Nettes Team auch! Hinweis an die Inhaber: Eine Kund*innentoilette wäre die perfekte Ergänzung!

Leckeres veganes Frühstück. Leider waren die Portionen so groß, dass wir den Kuchen nicht mehr probieren konnten. 🥲 Der sah toll aus! Wir hatten das Bauernomlette mit drei verschiedenen Salaten (allesamt lecker!) Und das süße Frühstück. Wirklich extrem gut!
