Were there for the second time since December and were very satisfied. Good portions, reasonable prices and good spiciness. The menu is extensive, the decision is difficult. Today the starter came with the main course, that was changed. The furnishings are still a bit rustic. Conclusion: We would love to come back 😋

The best Indian restaurant in Kiel and most likely in Germany. You can’t find Indian food this well prepared even in the big cities like Berlin. The taste is authentic, just like in India. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who wants to know how delicious Indian cuisine actually is. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A very friendly waitress explained to us that the dishes were prepared mildly and tailored to European tastes. If you want to enjoy an authentically seasoned dish, you have to note this beforehand! That's why there are three stars because we found our dishes to be too sweet. We would still like to come back and let ourselves be convinced again. It's very comfortable to sit together and the restaurant is suitably furnished.

Unfortunately my old review is no longer valid and I don't really care for Indian food. So I gave it a 3 star rating, which may be a bit unfair, but a high rating for lau doesn't make sense either.

The two of us were there without a reservation and were given a very friendly welcome. The portions are really big and the selection is great – also for vegan & vegetarian! The service was consistently attentive and warm. Great presentation of the food. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right, and the easy take-away of food is another plus point. We would definitely like to come back!

The team was very attentive even though they were very busy. The waiting time was therefore reasonable. The food lived up to what the menu promised. Overall, great quality of food, a great team, reasonable prices and a recommendable stay.

First visit, but definitely not the last! Delicious food in a nice atmosphere. Most of the food on the menu is only listed as a sauce - you then decide for yourself whether you want vegetables, poultry or shrimp with it. This makes the map clear - good idea! There are lots of delicious vegetarian options! A very pleasant shop that will hopefully last a long time. I will support him!

Our first time, unfortunately no reservation, the shop was full, so takeaway. We are thrilled. We have family in India, I worked there myself for 4 months and it tastes really authentic! In contrast to some glossy Indian restaurants in Kiel, everything is consistent, taste, portion size, price. I'm happy about the Mazala in the neighborhood.

Delicious food and nice service

I wasn't in the restaurant, but ordered the food to my house, so I can't really comment on the ambience or service. However, the food was really bad. Some of the vegetables in the biryani came from the freezer. Very little taste and just too few spices for Indian food. Very disappointing especially if you don't order food often and it's something special for you due to cost reasons. In addition, both my partner and I had stomach pains after eating and it could just be from this food... Unfortunately never again!!!

Ordered there for the first time three weeks ago. Very tasty food with great quality and quantity. Simply good, gladly again. :) Addendum from December 29th: Ordering the second time also left us thrilled. That gives it the 5th star. The only thing missing is a visit to the restaurant itself.

We went to Mazala for the first time today, hoping to finally experience authentic Indian cuisine in Kiel. We weren't disappointed! All dishes were super tasty. The only thing that still needs to be worked on is the service. The staff were all friendly, but quite disorganized. Hopefully this will get better with time. We'll definitely be back.

The Mazala (restaurant & bar) is run with friendliness and a good atmosphere. There are good cocktails and of course other drinks. Homemade lemonades are also served ice cold with fresh mint. The menu offers authentic Indian cuisine. I've eaten there many times and everything was excellent. I'd love to come back.

We were greeted extremely friendly and served. The food was super tasty and well seasoned. It is served very nicely in bowls with candles to keep it warm and the plates were preheated. We were there with a baby and that wasn't a problem either, they even made sure we had enough space for the stroller. The toilets were also very clean. We'll definitely come back again.

I celebrated my 38th birthday in the Indian restaurant Mazala at the Südfriedhof in Kiel and was pleasantly surprised by the authentic Indian cuisine. The flavors and dishes reminded me strongly of my vacation in Mauritius, where I was able to experience the delicacies of Indian cuisine up close for the first time. This feeling was wonderfully revived at Mazala. The starter with glazed vegetables and sesame was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection - nicely al dente and aromatic. I was particularly impressed by the Indian sauces that were served with the naan - a real highlight and something very special. For anyone who likes something exotic, Mazala is just the right place. My main course, spinach with Indian cheese, was a real treat. Only the quality of the rice wasn't the best. The portions were just right – not too big, but definitely enough to fill you up. I would particularly like to highlight the homemade lemonade I tried: lime-mint - so refreshing and delicious that I can only recommend it! I was also impressed by the ambience: from the beautifully designed bowls to the authentic furnishings and atmospheric music - you can tell how much effort the owners put into creating a welcoming and authentic atmosphere. The service was also excellent, the waiters were extremely friendly and always asked whether everything was to our satisfaction. Mazala is a place I would recommend to anyone who appreciates Indian cuisine and a special restaurant experience!

The ambiance is great. The food tastes delicious and makes me nostalgic. I have ordered Tikka chicken masala, Paneer Lababdar. Tikka masala was worth perfect spice levels and flavorful. This was our second time at Mazala and we were just as impressed as the first time. Apart from the fact that there is finally a restaurant in the area that also offers vegan/vegetarian dishes, it is a stroke of luck that it is Mazala: the food is so delicious and the whole team is incredible (and unpretentious ) friendly. Big praise to the whole team: We feel really comfortable here and hopefully we will for a long time to come🙂

We were there spontaneously on a Tuesday. We were kindly offered a table that would be free for another 2 hours. The service was very disappointing as the staff is obviously not trained and therefore a lot falls by the wayside. The starter was okay, my main course wasn't well salted and there was no salt/pepper or similar on the table. Our table was first not cleared at all, then only half cleared, and when we asked whether we would be able to have dessert in time, we never got an answer. Adjacent tables had similar problems and it would clearly have been possible for the staff to take better care of the guests and give them a more pleasant experience. I think the answer that two sick calls came spontaneously is more of an excuse for forgetfulness. As compensation, there was an espresso on the house at the end, which led me to give it 2 stars.

So satisfied all around that I showed up two days in a row.

Mazala offers the best Indian food in Kiel at pocket-friendly prices. The Rara Chicken was rich and flavorful, the paneer was fresh and of excellent quality, and the mango lassi was a standout. Great food, nice ambiance—highly recommended!
