Khon Thai in Bad Münstereifel

Wir waren letztes Weihnachten schon einmal mit einer Gruppe hier und da war es sehr lecker und wir hatten es auch nicht als überteuert im Kopf weshalb wir jetzt 6 Monate später nochmals hingegangen sind. Diesmal war das Essen jedoch wirklich nicht gut, die Garnelen waren zäh, der Tofu schmeckte als wäre er morgens gebraten worden und dann bis abends liegen geblieben. Zudem war es für thailändisches Essen ziemlich teuer (17-25€ pro Gericht) und das obwohl es nicht mal gut war. Diese Qualität von Essen wäre an einem Imbiss für einen Preis von vielleicht 6-7€ pro Gericht akzeptabel, aber nicht für diesen Preis! Sehr schade, wir waren froh dass es in Bad Münstereifel jetzt ein asiatisches Restaurant gibt, das hat eine echte Lücke gefüllt, doch werden wohl nicht wiederkommen

Ein absoluter Geheimtipp. Wir waren während unseres Kurzurlaubs in Bad Münstereifel zwei Mal dort. Das Essen schmeckt herrlich. Auf Anfrage geht das Personal sogar den extra Schritt und serviert die Gerichte im Original-Thai-Style. So ist für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Wir kommen wieder!

Must Try! Das ist das beste thailändische Essen, dass wir außerhalb Thailands gegessen haben. Super authenthisch! Das findet man selbst in der Großstadt nicht einmal. Und die Bedienungen waren alle auch sehr herzlich. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Immer wieder eine gute Adresse für reichhaltige thailändische Küche in Wohlfühlatmosphäre.

Reservierter Tisch für 11 Personen hat geklappt Getränkebestellung dauerte fast 35 Min ( unsere Gruppe waren die 1. Gäste! ) Essen dauerte 50 Min Kaltes Gericht, Beilage erst 20 Min später serviert Umgang mit dieser Reklamation von Seitens der Chefin äußerst negativ, reagiert unprofessionell und diskutiert auch noch. Weitere lange Wartezeit Neues Gericht ist heiss, dazugehörige Sosse ist verkehrt( scharf statt süss sauer ) Mit dummen Kommentar von der Chefin serviert worden Nach 1.5 Std erste Mal für 2. Getränkewunsch gefragt worden, wieder weitere 20 Min gewartet. Dann haben wir alle kapituliert. Resümee des Abends: Man sollte hier nochmal überdenken, dass sich der Gast eigentlich willkommen gefühlt werden möchte. Das war hier nicht der Fall. Reklamationsumgang sollte ebenfalls unbedingt verbessert werden. Schade. Für uns kein gelungener Abend.

Besonders hervorzuheben ist der professionelle und aufmerksame Service. Das Personal agiert freundlich, kompetent und stets zuvorkommend, ohne dabei aufdringlich zu wirken. Wünsche werden schnell und zuverlässig umgesetzt, was den Aufenthalt insgesamt sehr angenehm gestaltet. Insgesamt bietet das Restaurant eine gelungene Kombination aus authentischer Küche und erstklassigem Service – eine klare Empfehlung für alle, die die thailändische Gastronomie auf hohem Niveau genießen möchten.

Mein Absoluter Favorit was Thailändisches Essen angeht, wurde noch nie enttäuscht!

Ein wirklich schönes Restaurant. Der Innenbereich hat eine sehr gemütliche Atmosphäre. Die Außenterrasse wirkt im Vergleich dazu etwas weniger einladend. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich. Obwohl sie allein war, mussten wir keine Minute warten. Aufmerksam und zuvorkommend – das Essen war köstlich! Reichhaltig, geschmackvoll und frisch! Auf jeden Fall ein Grund, wiederzukommen. Vielen Dank, ich kann es wärmstens empfehlen!

Wir waren als Touristen in Bad Münstereifel unterwegs und hatten große Lust auf thailändisches Essen. Leider war dies das einzige Restaurant in der ganzen Stadt, das uns mit unserem kleinen Hund nicht hineingelassen hat – nicht einmal auf die Terrasse. Das hat uns sehr überrascht, da wir in allen anderen Restaurants keinerlei Probleme hatten und überall freundlich empfangen wurden. Für Touristen mit Hund wirkt so eine Regelung leider wenig einladend und schränkt die Auswahl stark ein, besonders wenn es um Außenbereiche geht. Sehr schade, denn wir hätten dieses Restaurant wirklich gerne ausprobiert.

Hallo, das Essen war vom Geschmack her sehr gut, aber bei meinem Rindfleisch mit Gemüse mußte man das Rinsfleisch leider suchen. Das Fleisch war extrem klein gehackt und passte auf einen Esslöffel.☹️ Auf meine Beschwerde, wurde nicht reagiert. Preis-Leistung past leider nicht.

Absolute Abfertigung...früher war es wirklich gut, aber es wird immer teurer und man bekommt immer weniger für sein Geld. Man bekommt kaum noch Gemüse, Gewürze (Thaibasilikum) auf der Speisekarte, die geschmacklich völlig fehlen. Und sobald man eine Beschwerde hat, wird man angeranzt. Zu scharfes Essen soll man mit Nachhause nehmen und dort verdünnen...unglaublich!

Super Lecker Essen mit Top Bewirtung und schönem Ambiente. Dazu noch süffige Cocktails und der Abend war perfekt. Vielen Dank für die Bewirtung und weiterhin viel Erfolg!

Wir sind mit mehreren Paaren Stammgäste im Khon Thai und schätzen das freundliche Personal, das gute Essen und die angenehme Atmosphäre. Umso enttäuschender war es, dass für eine kleine nachbestellte Portion Reis 2 € berechnet wurden. Als Begründung wurden gestiegene Reispreise genannt. Bei einer Gesamtsumme von ca. 300 € wirkt das jedoch kleinlich – insbesondere angesichts der auf 7% gesenkten Mehrwertsteuer. Hoffentlich wird diese Praxis überdacht.

Garnelen sind der letzte Schrott und es fehlen Zutaten bei der 44. Letzter Besuch

Auf der Karte stehen riesengarnelen doch bekommen haben wir für den selben preis kleine Tiefkühl Garnelen und als wir fragten ob das immer noch die selben sind wurde ja gesagt was klar gelogen ist. Gerade nochmal hier gewesen um dem ganzen eine Chance zu geben aber dann kam das Essen und es haben einfach Zutaten gefehlt und das Gericht war nicht gebießbar.

The food and service were excellent. Inside, the restaurant is beautifully and pleasantly decorated. The chairs are comfortable. The view from outside, however, is a disaster. Without the good reviews on Maps, we wouldn't have even gone up the stairs or ramp to the restaurant and would have turned around. So don't let that put you off. Go in and enjoy the delicious food.

No. Dogs are now banned even on the outdoor terrace. We were turned away. How narrow-minded is this restaurant? Bad Münstereifel is a tourist destination where many visitors bring dogs. Good luck with that attitude!

We've been going there for years when hiking with our dog in and around Bad Münstereifel. However, dogs are no longer allowed, not even on the outdoor terrace! Therefore, we will avoid this restaurant from now on.

Absolutely overpriced restaurant. The value for money is completely out of place. You don't get what's advertised on the menu. The restaurant used to be really great, but now you get less and less for your money. The food was served with complete disregard for the service – no decoration, no typical Thai presentation. Many other reviews praise the restaurant as good value for money, which I find completely incomprehensible. Perhaps they simply don't compare it to other Thai restaurants with good value for money. It's a shame...

The food generally tastes good. The spice levels are accurate, although I expected a bit more from the "Thai-style" spice. The appetizers are tasty, but not exactly "expensive" compared to the main course quantities and prices. The drinks menu is adequate, and the cocktails are tasty. Overall, the food and drinks are good, but not above average, hence the 4 stars. A visit is still recommended.

My spicy chicken dish was delicious...as was the salad. Fast service by a young man.

I ordered noodles with the duck instead of rice, which cost an extra €4.50. So, at €28, the duck is significantly overpriced. The exterior appearance leaves much to be desired.

Not all Thai restaurants are the same. A somewhat stiff welcome from the (older) lady, but this was compensated by the calm young man and woman serving who, despite the crowd, had everything under control👍. A busy restaurant...even on a Wednesday 👌. Be sure to wave clearly when you want to ask something, otherwise you might have to wait a while for your next drink😆. The atmosphere is a bit dull, but you can enjoy your meal in peace. Starter: mini spring rolls, which tasted delicious👌. Our order included few vegetables with the noodles but plenty of chicken👍. The deep-fried chicken (stir-frying is much tastier!) was covered in a thick layer of breading...not tasty and far too heavy on the stomach. The noodles and rice tasted great👍 Finally, the ice cream dessert... pfft... a scoop of vanilla ice cream, which was delicious, by the way. Topped with a stripe of chocolate sauce, a single sliced ​​grape... it looks like two 🤣, a red currant, and a slice of diana apple🙈the garnish was gone😆 Not something I'll be repeating.

On the way back to the Netherlands, I stopped here for a bite to eat on a Sunday evening, and it wasn't bad. The service is very friendly and fast. I had the chicken satay as a starter, which wasn't particularly special, but the salad with glass noodles and chicken afterward was delicious. And they had my favorite dessert: sticky rice with mango! It was beautifully presented with a scoop of ice cream, a generous amount of mango, and delicious sticky rice. The restaurant's interior is very cozy—they've gone above and beyond to create a Thai atmosphere, and they've succeeded beautifully. Definitely worth a visit! Parking is limited in front, but there's plenty of parking on the street one level below, where you'll find a parking space as you drive up to the restaurant.

We were very dissatisfied. At 8 p.m. (open until 10 p.m.) there was no rice left. They could have cooked more for us, but it would take 30-40 minutes. No rice at the Thai restaurant??? So I asked if the kitchen was closing time, and they hesitantly agreed. The alternative meal we ordered was completely overly sweet. It was practically inedible. But hunger and the practically closed kitchen made us eat it all. My resounding "no" to the question "did you like it?" during clearing was ignored. Prices are high, and the food—at least what we had—was absolutely terrible. Hand-scribbled notes at the entrance regarding restroom use for non-guests and that you should wait until you're brought to your table. Everything was completely lackluster. The interior is also showing its age. For us, a clear: never again!

This Thai restaurant is located in the heart of Bad Münstereifel. Four of us ate there, and all the dishes were delicious and tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant if you enjoy Thai food.

The ambiance inside is really nice, and the service was extremely friendly, which I really liked. The food tasted okay, too. However, my visit was overall disappointing. Compared to numerous other Thai restaurants, this was unfortunately the weakest experience so far. The food was served with absolutely no love – no decoration, no typical Thai presentation, which you find almost everywhere else. For me, the price-performance ratio was completely out of proportion: A small duck dish for €23.90 is significantly overpriced. Not even in Cologne would you pay that much, and if you do, you get significantly more on your plate. Another negative point: The entrance door states that all major cards (including Amex) are accepted! However, my American Express payment was surprisingly declined. This card is no longer accepted! What further irritates me: Many other reviews praise the restaurant as being good value for money, which I find completely incomprehensible. Perhaps they simply lack a comparison to authentic Thai restaurants with good value for money. Overall, unfortunately, only 2 out of 5 stars.

Guests are warmly welcomed in a beautiful setting. The menu includes many dishes suitable for both vegetarians and vegans. Highly recommended.

An insider tip, a little off the beaten track of the touristy old town. We enjoyed fantastic food here today. The service was super friendly, and the restaurant is stylishly and comfortably decorated. When the weather's nice, you can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view.

Unfortunately, all three people who ate three different dishes there developed severe stomach pain and diarrhea. We won't be coming back again.

Delicious food at good prices in a nice atmosphere.

There were two of us there today. One of 2 dishes came to the table cold. After the complaint, it was heated in the microwave and came to the table carelessly and this time no less cold. After another complaint, the manager of the house took the plate away in a visibly bad mood. This time it was freshly prepared and hot, but was put on the table with the boss in a bad mood. Rice was only available upon request. The taste of the food was okay, although not particularly exciting. The fact that you are punished with disregard for a complaint later in the evening does not show professionalism, that's childish. Mistakes can happen, but you should have the courage to admit them and not react stubbornly like a three-year-old child and pass the buck to the guest.

Unfortunately we cannot recommend this restaurant. Food mediocre at best. After we ordered a second helping of duck, we were “rewarded” with the full price of a menu (€23.50) on the bill. RIP-OFF!!!!!

Das Essen kam recht schnell auf den Tisch- dafür aber nur lauwarm. Mein Hähnchen war komplett ungewürzt in einer fettigen dicken Teigmasse, spärliche Gemüsebeilage. Auf meine Anmerkung hin wurde nicht reagiert, lediglich ohne Beteiligung geschwiegen. Sehr lieblos und ein schlechtes Preis / Leistung Verhältnis.

The service staff is super rude. She doesn’t even know how to smile! She literally told us that no drinks no food although we have ordered hot drinks! The way she talked to us is unbearable. Just because I was with my Friends and family, I did not speak any word and close the matter. Else such a bad lady needs special treatments. Anyway - never again. Change the staff and learn how to handle customers. Your restaurant is running just because of customers.

My partner and I ate there with our 2 dogs. Although dogs are not allowed inside the restaurant, they are allowed on the terrace and the fan heater was turned on for us. We have been visiting Khon Thai in Bad Münstereifel regularly for some time now and are mostly satisfied. The food is authentic and delicious, especially the spring rolls as a starter and the duck are really recommended! Unfortunately, on our last visits we noticed that the service had deteriorated somewhat. The service was inattentive at times and we had to wait about an hour for our food. Another negative point was that a dish that had a spiciness level of 1 on the menu was prepared much too spicy. The portion of the Pad Thai was also rather small this time and wasn't really filling. It's better to stay away from the dessert, unfortunately it didn't convince us. It's worth enjoying something sweet in one of the nice cafés in the city instead. Overall, the restaurant is still worth a visit, and with a little more attention to service, it could build on the previous positive experiences. A little additional training for employees might make sense.

I have loved Thai cuisine for just over 35 years. During this time I've eaten at around 28 different restaurants, so I'm in a position to give a review. The service this lunchtime was courteous and nice, but very slow. The ambience is getting old, but conveys Thai tradition. Now let's get to the actual review. The food (number 41) green curry tasted very good and was well seasoned. Unfortunately the chicken wasn't very good. It was too firm for me (more like turkey) and not quite as tender. It cooked too long (overcooked). In my opinion it wasn't quite as fresh anymore, it had something from the fridge on it. The starters, the glass noodle salad and the spring rolls, as well as the red vegetable curry from my companion were top!

Slecht voorgerecht! Had niks met de Thaise keuken te maken. Wij hadden een mix van alle voorgerechten. Was gefrituurd en smakeloos. Hoofdgerechten waren zeer matig en we misten de verse Thaise kruiden. Bediening vonden wij ook zeer matig en waren niet bereid tot een beetje extra service zoals het verschaffen van vochtige doekjes die wij vroegen omdat onze handen plakten na het voorgerecht. Zeker niet voor herhaling vatbaar. Waarschijnlijk waren we er met te hoge verwachtingen ingegaan. Wij zijn dol op de Thaise keuken maar die was hier ver te zoeken.

Everybody is talking about real authentic food but I have no idea why. Mixed starters were all fried and since when are cheese croquettes Thai food? Main dish was ok but also not really Thai cuisine. Didn’t taste any fresh herbs.

Reservations went well by phone. Service was very nice and always looked after you. If something was forgotten in the heat of the moment and you brought it to your attention, it would be taken care of immediately. Service is really top. Food was really very tasty. Both rice and noodle dishes. Portions are reasonable for the price and fill you up well. Spicy is stated on the menu and varies from not spicy to slightly spicy to spicy. Both vegetarians and vegans have a choice of dishes. Cocktail was also delicious. The Thai atmosphere inside is really great, outside on the terrace is fine (not extremely Thai in style), but definitely nicer inside. Definitely worth a visit.

Freundliche Bedienung, essen aber zu teuer für das Gebotene. Vegetarische Frühlingsrollen nur mit Glasnudeln gefüllt, geschmacklich eher etwas fade, die Ente nicht wirklich knusprig so wie in der Karte angepriesen. Da haben wir in einen vergleichbaren Restaurant in Bonn günstiger und um Welten besser gegessen.

I rarely write reviews but it's really appropriate here. The ambience is nice, the staff hardworking and the food was simply fantastic. Highly recommended are the cheese balls and number 31 - duck with chili garlic sauce. I've never eaten such delicious duck before, I'm looking forward to my next visit!

We were here on a Saturday evening with a reservation, which was necessary. The service was very friendly and attentive. We had the appetizer platter, which was good so far, but very greasy. The two main courses were very tasty and the atmosphere in the restaurant was really great. We can definitely recommend it!
