We had tarte flambée and sausage salad. The taste was average; the tarte flambée was overseasoned and too burnt, and the sausage salad lacked vinegar. All in all, it was okay, but I won't be stopping there again.

Das mit Abstand beste Restaurant nicht nur in Bad Urach, sondern im ganzen Ermstal. Der Service ist absolut klasse, insbesondere wird auf die speziellen Wünsche unserer Kinder mit viel Verständnis eingegangen. Frau Bischoff und ihr Team leisten herausragende Arbeit! Die Menüs von Herrn Bischoff sind 1A. Ein derartige kreative vegetarische Küche findet man selten. Ein herzliches Dankeschön an das Kesselhaus! Es hätte auch 6 Punkte verdient.

Food was good, the spaetzle were in the water for far too long for my taste. The only thing that was annoying was the 2-hour waiting time for the main course, especially for those who hadn't ordered a starter.

A thoroughly successful evening! We had a three-course meal with a matching wine selection and an aperitif to start – simply fantastic. The service was prompt, warm, and very attentive. We were seated right away without having to wait and had a wonderfully quiet spot. The menu selection was varied, featuring carefully selected, high-quality ingredients, and every dish was a true delight. We were truly pleasantly surprised. This restaurant is highly recommended for a special evening – we will definitely be back!

We were served excellent food, notably the cream of asparagus soup; the vegetarian ravioli; the Wiener schnitzel; and the fish of the day. Washed down with Aperol spritzes, local beer and good wines. And thanks too for the friendly service from our (English-speaking) host. We hope to be back!

The service was very friendly and attentive. We weren't entirely impressed by the dishes we ordered. The starters were well-seasoned and harmonious. Unfortunately, the same couldn't be said for the main courses. The lamb had a lot of tendons and silver skin, and it was very bland. We would have expected the Wiener Schnitzel to be souffléd in clarified butter in a restaurant of this caliber, but unfortunately, it wasn't. Nevertheless, we'll venture back; perhaps the chef was having a bad day. Reservations are highly recommended.

At least they can bother and update their closure times! We choose this village and the hotel taking in the consideration that we will eat in the hotel. We arrived and found that the restaurant is closed and most of the restaurants in the whole village are closed in the same day. Finished our day eating some bad food somewhere... Lack of respect for the customers!

Alle Gänge waren geschmacklich und optisch hervorragend, dazu eine diskreter aber stets präsenter und sehr freundlicher Service. Das Gesamterlebnis rechtfertigt den etwas höheren Preis.

Very bad service, no decency!!! I reserved a table 6 weeks ago, saw the restaurant on TV and flew here from Fuerteventura to eat. They simply put a sign in the window "Closed today" in front of us without talking to us. I then went to the hotel entrance where an employee told me "Tough luck, he can tell me another restaurant" that's what Mrs. Bishop said to him Phone. And Ms. Bischof knew that we had come specifically from Fuerteventura. A money-grubbing and invoiced store thought company brought more money. Better not to visit!! It may be that the arrival is at a different time. And I left my mobile number when making the reservation and I didn't even get a call...

Because of the broadcast on TV, we took our wedding anniversary as an opportunity to visit the Kesselhaus. We are thrilled - delicious food, great ambience, friendly and unobtrusive service. We had a really nice evening and were guests at the Kesselhaus for the first time, but certainly not for the last!

We had dinner in the Kesselhaus because of the TV program that was being broadcast. The service was great, very friendly waiters and a perfectly reasonable amount of time between courses. The ambience is wonderful. We felt very comfortable, the perfect mix of fine dining and a good home-style restaurant without a lot of frills. The food was very, very tasty. The position size of the pasta could have been a little larger, but the taste was an 11/10. All in all it was a wonderful evening and we would love to come back.

Absolutely top! Visited your local for the first time today because of the show My Local. We each decided on a 3 course menu. The service was very attentive, the distances between courses were perfect. The food is regional and tastes absolutely amazing. The portion sizes were perfect in the combination of the 3 courses. Ambience very nice. And the price is more than justified for this handcraft. Great praise, would love to come back!

Nicely spruced up was of no use. Order taken without a note and immediately delivered incorrectly, I wanted salad instead of fries and fries came. 2 x the onion roast, both almost done instead of medium. 1 x veal schnitzel, breading on the underside soggy, also completely pale and hardly seasoned, carelessly 2 small pieces on the plate. No new cutlery after the starter, just taken from the plate by the waiter and placed on the table mat, not even on the paper napkin! The worst thing was waiting 1 hour for food after the starter (there was nothing going on) and I had a salad as a starter which I would have liked to continue eating with my meal. I suspect that the boss wasn't there that day, otherwise there is unfortunately no explanation. If we hadn't waited so long, the onion roast would have been returned twice. I can't understand the hype. Bill 250.-/4 people.

We were curious because I regularly watch the TV show "My Local, Your Local"... and yes: it was really worth it! Even if some people wondered why we had to travel ¾ hour to eat... But we got there quicker anyway 😉 (30 minutes) and were really excited! Great food and very, very attentive and friendly staff! Really recommended!

Auf Grund von online Speisekarte das Restaurant für einen Geburtstag ausgewählt. Übersichtlich aber ok. Im Restaurant angekommen mit Familie 7 Leute. Speisekarte angesehen nicht gleich wie online. Rostbraten 5€ teuer als online Speisekarte! 34.50€ !!! Bedienung sagte das das häufiger passiert und der Chef das bereits lange weiß !Location ist ok.

My absolute favorite restaurant in the region. The ambience is dignified without being intrusive. The staff is very friendly and accommodating at all times. The food is excellent and always fresh. If something doesn't fit, we'll respond immediately. Gin is a special treat! Children are also very welcome. However, you should always make a reservation, the restaurant is, quite rightly, very popular and well booked! PS: The Bischoff family's catering is also a real pleasure every time!

Came spontaneously and was lucky to get a table for two. Now it's clear why. The food was very good. Without ski ski. Meat to the point. Side dishes are great. Dear Mr. Bischoff, We were just engrossed in the dessert of your stunning four-course meal when you honored us with a visit to the table. Very full and happy, we didn't pick up on your conversation quickly enough. So we could have talked about the best polenta I've ever eaten, about artistic bees on melon, about the spiciness of the fascinatingly presented soup or simply the challenges of keeping an economy alive. Thank you for coming to us - next time we would definitely like to personally praise this excellent cuisine. We're looking forward to that.

I would like to give more stars than 5, but unfortunately that's not possible. This restaurant has “soul” and is run with a lot of love, which you not only see and feel, but also taste. I can only recommend everyone (who is staying nearby) to reserve here early (it is often necessary!) and let yourself be pampered there. It is worth it!

Today, as a couple of course, we enjoyed the phenomenal Valentine's menu 2024 What can I say - outstanding! Perfectly cooked char with slightly salty beluga on tender lentils Butter-tender saddle of veal with fried wild broccoli on a wonderfully subtle celery puree with a hint of vanilla Finally, crème brûlée with tonka beans and a wonderfully refreshing lychee sorbet Congratulations!!!

Ein perfekter Abend im Kesselhaus! Das Drei-Gänge-Menü war köstlich, der Service war äußerst freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die vorherige Reservierung verlief reibungslos, und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war absolut angemessen. Eine rundum gelungener Restaurantbesuch, den ich wärmstens weiterempfehlen kann.

Wir waren mit 7 Personen aufgrund einer Reservierung dort und sind an einem großen Tisch direkt vorne neben der Bar platziert worden. War etwas abgelegener, so dass man sich, außer wenn an der Bar Getränke zubereitet wurden, gut unterhalten konnte. Ambiente rustikal - modern, so würde ich es bezeichnen. Großes Hänge - Holz - Regal mit verschiedenen Flaschen an der gegenüber liegenden Wand, daneben ein großes Bild mit einem Maschinen- oder Kellerraum. Holztisch moderner eingedeckt mit schwarzen Kontrasten und minimaler Deko. Gut gefallen hat uns, dass man Brot auf den Tisch bekam und die dazugehörigen Olivenöl Spender und grobes Salz bereits auf dem Tisch standen. War sehr angenehm um den Magen in Schwung zu bringen. Brot wurde sogar öfter nachgefüllt. Bedienung sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Das eine Mal als etwas vergessen wurde, wurde dies direkt nachgeholt. War wohl falsch zwischen den Bedienungen kommuniziert worden, wer welches Getränk zubereitet. Kann passieren. Portionen für uns als gute Esser angenehm groß, aber auch Vorspeise und Nachtisch haben noch rein gepasst, haben mein Verlobter und ich uns einfach geteilt. Qualität vom Essen war sehr gut! Selten so gut gegessen! Zu Weihnachten bzw. auch noch ein paar Tage danach mehrere Menüs zur Auswahl, bei denen sogar untereinander kombiniert werden konnte. Preise aber nicht abgehoben, insgesamt scheint man bodenständig geblieben zu sein, wenn ich es mal so nennen darf. Dies konnte ich gut vergleichen, da wir den Abend zuvor ein paar Orte weiter zu Gast in einem Restaurant waren in dem wohl schon viele Promis (viele entsprechende Fotos an der Wand) gespeist hatten. Den Vergleich hat dann für mich das Kesselhaus gewonnen: Preis Leistung und Qualität des Essens war einfach besser, ohne schicki micki zu sein bzw. sich zu präsentieren. Sehr sympathisch!

Das besondere Etwas in Bad Urach, was in der Region schon längst nicht mehr als Geheimtip gilt! Die Kreationen sind manchmal außergewöhnlich aber toll abgestimmt und harmonierend. Die Wahl aus den regelmäßig wechselnden Menuekarten fällt immer schwer. Man möchte am Liebsten einmal rauf- und runterfuttern! Vom Preis- / Leistungsverhältnis immer noch sehr fair, was bei anderen Restaurants in der Klasse und in der Region nicht mehr der Fall ist. Das Kesselhaus ist, auch aufgrund der netten Gastgeber - Familie Bischoff - und ihrem Team, immer wieder einen Aufenthalt wert!

Nach Jahren wieder im Kesselhaus... Wird auch wieder Jahre dauern! Eins vorweg, die Bedienungen sind steht's freundlich und immer bemüht.... Auf diesem Niveau erwartet man mehr! Das Ambiente ist sehr schön. Zu meinem Essen. Ich bestellte einen Zwiebelrostbraten 28€ Medium und als Vorspeise einen kleinen gemischten Salat 6€. Der Salat war schön angerichtet, das Dressing jedoch kaum vorhanden und ausbaufähig. Leider war dem Koch nicht aufgefallen das seine Pfanne wohl nicht die benötige Temperatur hatte, als mein Rinderstück zu Besuch kam. Weder links noch rechts hatte das Fleisch Röstiansätze... Bei diesem Gericht unvorstellbar. Natürlich war es dann auch nicht Medium wie bestellt. Beim anrichten auf dem Teller hätte dies bemerkt werden müssen, da der "Rost-Braten" aufgeschnitten serviert wurde! Alles halb so wild da der Kunde (ich) auch mit medium - rar leben kann. Die Spätzle waren teilweise Fingerdick und hätten gut und gerne mit etwas Salz und Muskat in der Masse, länger im Siedewasser verweilen dürfen. Teilweise etwas matschig. Einen Hinweis auf die Mängel, gab ich am Ende, da zu einen das Restaurant stark besucht war und ich zusammen mit meiner Frau essen wollte. Zu guter Letzt und als Info für die gehobene Gastro... Auf Nachfrage wurde mir bestätigt das das Wasser begaßtes Leitungwasser ist, welches in der Zapfanlage noch gefiltert wird 0,75l zu 4,80€ Was beklag ich mich denn, auf der Karte stand ja auch Wasser und nicht "Geschmackloser Edeltropfen!" Danke aber ich besuche lieber die gutbürgerlich ehrliche Küche. Rind und Schwein kommen laut Karte aus BaWü... Gutmöglich, regionale Mastbetriebe verkaufen auch über den Großhandel. Bei anderem Fleisch wird sogar der Erzeuger benannt. Für künftige Gäste, dies ist meine Erfahrung. Empfehlen kann ich die Auswahl an Burgern, welche wirklich toll sind, aber auch echt etwas teuer. Aber was ist schon günstig! Ich weiß es ist schimm, wenn man essen geht und feststellt, hättest es selbst besser gekocht!

Tolles Essen, aufmerksames Personal. Mein 4 Gang Menü war toll auch die Burger sind zu empfehlen. Nach dem tollen Young- und Oldtimer Treffen zum Saisonstart bei Menton Automobilcenter in Reutlingen war das der passende Abschluss.

Meine alten Schulfreund waren sehr glücklich, dass Sie nach 21 Uhr noch tolle Speisen angeboten bekamen. Das ermöglichte uns vorher noch die Erstlesung eines lokalen Krimis zu besuchen. Nach dem umfangreichen Besuchsprogramm konnten wir uns nun zurücklehnen und verwöhnen lassen. Der Service beriet uns bei der Auswahl der Drinks, die schnell und wohltemperiert kamen. Die Gerichte waren optisch und vom Geschmack ein Genuss, so dass wir uns noch ein leckeres Dessert leisteten. Stimmung daher sehr angeregt... Meine Freunde kommen wieder!

Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis top, Personal sehr kompetent und freundlich. Wir waren zu sechst mit Kleinkind essen. Alle Gerichte waren super zubereitet, sahen sehr ansprechend aus und waren auf den Punkt gegart. Können wir gerne weiterempfehlen!

Man wähle das „Kesselhaus-Menü“: „Tonello Vitato" kurzgebratener Thunfisch / Kalbfleischsauce / Morea Kapern.*** Gebratene Rotschwanz-Garnelen / Bärlauchsauce / Perlgraupenrisotto. *** Maispoulardenbrust / Tomatenconfit / buntes Spargelgemüse / Polentaschnitte. *** Limettenmousse / Joghurt Sponge / Avocado / Schokoladeneis. Alle Komponenten sind super zusammengestellt. Es passt und schmeckt alles. Sehr netter Service! Und seit jeher E-Ladestationen für die gesicherte Heimreise.

Gestern wieder einen wunderschönen Abend im Kesselhaus verbracht ! Wie mein Vater treffend formulierte: „eine Genussmanufaktur“ ! Und das in jeglicher Hinsicht. Wir freuen uns schon auf weitere Besuche. Mehr gibt es nicht zu sagen 👌!

5 Sterne deluxe. Frische Produkte liebevoll zubereitet. Ein Spiel von Aromen, ohne überladen zu sein. Freundlicher Service, der voll auf die Gäste eingeht. Zum Abschluss eine (riesen) Kugel hausgemachtes Quitten-Sorbet für 3 Euro - völlig angemessen und eine Geschmachsexplosion. Die Rechnung hätte für Qualität und Leistung locker höher ausfallen dürfen. Ein kulinarisches Highlight im verträumten Urach. Wir kommen wieder.

Mein Gericht: Tafelspitz, zarter geht’s nicht, Merettich-Sauce, Flow Sprouts (Blumenkohlsprossen) angebraten, tolles Geschmackserlebnis, geräucherter Kartoffelstampf, rote Beeren, dezent ganz feine, kleine Gemüsestückchen dazwischen und alles toll gewürzt. Ich koche gerne und gehe gerne gut essen, das war richtig gut. Wir waren mit 15 Familienmitgliedern da und die drei Servicedamen waren wirklich exzellent, aufmerksam, freundlich, zuvorkommend und gefühlt immer freundlichst präsent. 😋😋😋☺️☺️☺️

Hier stimmt einfach alles: Vom super leckeren Essen über die empfohlenen Weine bis zum freundlichen und kompetenten Personal und dem Ambiente und der liebevollen Dekoration! Unglaublich, dass das Kesselhaus bei der Uracher Gastronomie nur an 3. Stelle gelistet ist!!!

Mit lieben Freunden haben wir im Kesselhaus gegessen. Von der Vorspeise bis zum Nachtisch war alles hervorragend. Service und Weinempfehlung waren ausgezeichnet. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Top rating from start to finish. The booking, menu and wine choice for 30 people at my 70th birthday was friendly and easy. The set-up was impeccable with white linen and flower deco. Pre dinner welcome drinks in the courtyard served with a smile. The four course dinner, salad, soup, meat or fish for mains and Bischoffs dessert, delicious. No pressure at closing time… 10 out of 10 including the very reasonable invoice in the end. The overnight guests were very happy as well. Thank you to Bischoffs and the team.

Tolle Auswahl in überragender Qualität. Vor allem die Dinnete mit Brie, Feige,Honig und Haselnuss. Ein absoluter Genuss!
