The food was very tasty. The rice is great. Unfortunately the salad was a bit bland, a little dressing would have been nice.

The restaurant has just been renovated and boasts a great menu that combines a low price with a good selection of dishes. You can actually go here more often to try everything once. The portions are huge, so it's best not to order too many appetizers. However, the food is very tasty. Particularly recommended are the lamb shank with dill rice and broad beans (Shebet Baqolah) and the incredibly cheap and delicious Bolani, which is quite large. Unfortunately, we weren't able to try Zarda-Palaw on the Sunday we were there, but we had heard a lot of good things about it and the people next to us actually came from Braunschweig especially for this. The saffron ice cream at the end was also super tasty and a decent portion. At the beginning of the meal, the two of us were given a free side salad and bread. We left completely satisfied and will come back. Addendum: Next time I had the Ash soup and it was pretty tasty. The portion was also good. Then the Negin Kebab with Zarda-Palaw. Both were also delicious and juicy. And of course a large portion.

After the renovation it was just great!

The restaurant can thank the service staff for this review. Absolutely unprofessional and rude, who don't even really listen to their customers and instead argue unnecessarily and make statements that are not appropriate. Never again Balkh!

We started with a starter with the Mantus, which are super tasty and can only be recommended as a starter. For the main course we chose Quabuli Palau with Macha and even got a side dish of our choice, the Badenjan (aubergines) are simply fantastic here. There are many drinks, we chose the lemon sharbat, which is not too sweet and very tasty (recommended by the waiter). It was very tasty. The team is very accommodating and accommodates every request. Also a big compliment to the kitchen for the delicious food. We drove here from Hildesheim and didn't regret it. Also a shout out to the young service team who are very nice and always give good recommendations. It's a bit expensive but what do you expect in a restaurant. The meal also takes a bit like 30 minutes but as I said, that's quite understandable in a restaurant. But the starter came very quickly so there's nothing to complain about. We definitely enjoy coming back to eat here again and again

The worst dining experience! The skewer was extremely greasy and inedible! I've never had such bad food in my life. The menu choice was limited. Sambos were relatively ok. All drinks only come in glasses. The service was hectic.

A restaurant that has maintained its low prices even after thorough renovations and a nice atmosphere. I love so many things here, the homemade lemon sharbat is great, the vegetarian dishes are great. I like to come back again and again. Service is quick, remembers faces and is super nice.

It's not what it used to be. The quality of the dishes has decreased significantly. We don't even want to talk about the service. You don't feel comfortable at all.

A good place for Afghan food. I recommend it for people who interested in afghan food. Toilet service needs cleanliness, all other things are well.

I was disappointed with my visit to Balkh. The food took over an hour to arrive even though the restaurant was not full. The staff was friendly and the food was good, but the long wait really spoiled the enjoyment. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend the restaurant.

Have been here many times with friends or family. The food is always great, everything is 1A, you can skip the starter of dry iceberg lettuce and dry flatbread, but otherwise it's really great. Waiting times have always been long until now, service was very nice. Clear recommendation.

The worst food I have ever eaten. The vegetables were old and with onion skins, the meat was not cooked, and the service was poor. Was told that they didn't have chicken, but was served something completely different. I asked three times if I can get something else, but was told that they have made spears already. Definitely not recommended.

Food here was super tasty. Especially the rice with a slight hint of cinnamon. Very good place to eat vegetarian and vegan too. Our orders were lost and it took quite a long time until we could order. But I would still come back because the food was just very good.

Unfortunately my visit to the restaurant was disappointing. Overall, the food didn't taste good, the kebab in particular was an absolute disaster - dry and tasteless. The service also left a lot to be desired. The staff were inattentive and unfriendly, which negatively affected the entire experience. I expected more from a Persian restaurant and will not eat here again.

After the renovation, the restaurant has become a lot better... The food is delicious and the menu is very informative... You can see from the menu which dishes are spicy or contain garlic, etc. The waiters are also friendly...

Delicious food! Everything very well seasoned. Every dish is something special. I usually eat vegetarian food and it's a great restaurant for vegetarians too. The spinach (sabzi) was very good, the eggplant was awesome, the leek filled dumplings were delicious and the lentil soup was also very tasty. Furthermore, the staff was very friendly. I give it a clear recommendation and I will come back more often.

Food 2/5 , supposed to be Indian, but it wasn't good at all, very fluid , chicken didn't have any taste, lots of Kurkuma in the sauce. Service 3/5 nice waiters, but we had to wait 30 min outside for a table. The atmosphere is okay, nothing really special.

Yesterday I was in this restaurant for the first time because a colleague of mine invited me to break my fast there. It was packed and despite having a reservation, it took a while until we were assigned a seat. We were there at exactly 8 p.m. and when we ordered, we asked the waiter how long it would take. We were told that it would take a maximum of 15 minutes. Unfortunately, the 15 minutes didn't turn out as expected and we had to wait almost 1:30 hours for our food to arrive. We ordered a Balkh plate with white rice, fries, mantu and spinach. Plus Sambosa with 2 skewers of Kubide and rice. When our food finally arrived after a long time, the food was almost cold and the meat was almost burnt. They also forgot to get the spinach and another drink. After several requests, they were told the whole time that they would bring it immediately, but unfortunately after another 30 minutes nothing came. That was the first and last time I ate here. Fortunately, there are other restaurants in Hanover that offer Afghan/Persian cuisine.

The food wasn't good! We made a reservation a week ago and we expected that we would get good service but that wasn't the case, when we ordered after 10 minutes we were told this and that was ready. After that the rice was as little as if it were for a child brought . I expect a high quality meal but we were very disappointed with Balkh

The food was very good, but on the second visit we were told to wait 15 minutes for a table, which we did outside. After a few minutes other people came into the shop and also asked for a table. They immediately got the free table while we had to wait in the cold. Unfortunately, not nice dealings with the customers.

Über lieferando bestellt... für 2 hackspiesse und 1 Hähnchenspiess einfach mal 31, 27 Euro gezahlt.. bin geschockt! Ohne beilage/ reis/ etc... Also nie wieder über lieferando!!!!!!!!.. Ansonsten Vorort sehr leckeres Essen..

Von aussen sehr unscheinbares Restaurant, das es aber in sich hat. Hier werden leckere iranisch/afghanische Speisen angeboten. Der gelbe Basmatireis mit Safran, Bitterorange-Streifen, Mandeln und Pistazien ist der Hammer. Noch nie so leckeren Reis gegessen. Dazu hatten wir eine Kebabplatte mit Hähnchen, Lamm und Rind. Auch der Mango-Lassi ist außergewöhnlich gut. Werdann noch Platz hat als Nachtisch einen afghanischen Milchpudding mit Mandeln, Pistazien und grünem Kardamom. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis passt ebenfalls. Ganz dicke Empfehlung.

Ich muss sagen es war liebe nach dem ersten Biss. Der Reis den ihr auf dem Bild seht ist bisher eines der leckersten Reisgerichte die ich je gegessen habe ! Wer den nicht probiert hat sollte das unbedingt nachholen. Die Preise sind zu der aktuellen Lage sehr sehr gut. Ich meine der Teller den ihr links seht kostet einfach nur 12,99€ und ist eine sehr sehr ordentliche Portion. Ich habe mich in den Laden verliebt und werde dort noch sehr oft essen gehen insallah.

غذای بسیار خوشمزه ای دارند ،ما کباب کوبیده و جوجه سفارش دادیم . پرسنل بسیار مودب بودند . قیمتش هم خوب بود فقط کمی کباب کوبیده اش به نظرم شور بود .جای پارک راحت پیدا میشه . ما حدودا ساعت ۱۴ اونجا بودیم .بکم طول کشید اا غذا بیارن ولی خب علتش این بود که سرشون خیلی شلوغ بود . در کل راضی بودم. در هانوفر بنظرم از بقیه بهتره .

I have visited this restaurant a few times and I am always impressed by the quality and taste of the food. The restaurant specializes in traditional Afgan cuisine and they have a wide menu that includes everything from Kabuli rice to soups to grilled meats. The dishes are all made with fresh ingredients and you can taste the difference. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are a few issues that I would like to mention. First, the smell of the kitchen can be very strong and it can linger on the customers. This is due to the lack of an effective ventilation system. Second, there is no parking at the restaurant so it can be difficult to find a place to park. Despite these issues, I recommend.

Super. Waren das erste Mal hier. Die Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Speisekarte sehr übersichtlich. 2 Hauptgerichte, eine Vorspeise geteilt, Getränke, 30€. Preislich top. Hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Das Ambiente, draußen zu sitzen, Klasse. Lebhafte Umgebung, wie im Urlaub, einfach toll. Freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Besuch.

Service dauert,schlecht organisiert, und nach dem ich 40min auf mein Essen gewartet habe, bekam ich einen falschen Essen noch, daraufhin habe ich das Restaurant verlassen. Es gab keinen Einsicht geschweige den Kunden zu überreden doch zu bleiben. Meiner Meinung nach fehlt es an geschultes Personal.

Das Essen ist äußerst lecker und die Kellner sehr freundlich. Insgesamt waren die Portionen großzügig und alles insgesamt preiswert. Wir werden dort auf jeden Fall wieder essen!

Das Essen bei Balkh war wirklich sehr lecker. Ich habe noch nie afghanisch gegessen und war beeindruckt. Ich hatte mit Fleisch gefüllte Teigtaschen und Reis. Beides sehr zu empfehlen. Auch Baklava als Nachtisch war sehr lecker. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, haben anschließend noch einen Tee ausgegeben bekommen.

Super lecker und sehr preiswert! Qualität und Geschmack sind hervorragend. Es gibt normal große Hauptgerichte und für den kleinen Hunger viele, kleine Beilagen, die man sich ähnlich wie bei Tapas zusammenstellen kann. Die Portionen sind sehr groß und preislich wirklich gut! Getränke: Sehr gut! Selbstgemachte Limos (z.B. mit Safran) und viele Tee-Variationen bieten (endlich) mal eine Alternative zu zuckerhaltigen Softdrinks, es kann so einfach sein... Das Team ist sehr freundlich und die Sitzplätze (drinnen wie draußen) ebenfalls gemütlich!

Unglaublich lecker, denkt man von außen gar nicht. Bis auf die Beleuchtung ist es aber stimmungsvoll eingerichtet, draußen sitzt es sich im Sommer auch sehr schön, zumindest wenn man das Treiben der Limmerstraße mag 😊 das Highlight war für mich aber die geschmackliche Offenbarung, die das Qabili Palau und das Zadar Palau bieten. Auch das Fleisch (Lammkeule und Hackspieß habe ich bislang getestet) ist wirklich köstlich. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist ebenfalls top! Ein echtes Juwel, nach dessen Besuch ich mit erstmal ein Kochbuch über afghanische Küche und einen Haufen Trockenfrüchte zugelegt habe 😁 absolute Empfehlung!
