A really nice shop, the cats are doing well and the vegan food is really tasty. The banana bread and don't call it snickers are highly recommended. The service is very friendly and very helpful if you have any questions. All in all we were very happy and will come back as soon as we are back in Munich :)

Nice place, but the prices are a little high for it. I would like there to be a little more than 3 cats for such a number of people. Although it is indicated that there are 6 of them, alas, this is not so. Nice staff. Nice place. But as a feature of the establishment - animals, alas, it didn’t work out

The food was really good. However the staff was really slow and seemed to be more focused on talking about the latest gossip, than attending to the guests. Also the young male waiter looked like he just got out of bed. And the bathroom was really sad. There was no toilet paper and the floor was unclean. It looks more like a bathroom you would find in a prison, very dreary, it has basically no decorations... it just doesnt match the charm of the rest of the restaurant.

This was one of the best places I've been to. Vegan food AND cats? What's there not to like! Kind service and reasonable pricing, very good food.

So first I would like to say that I think it's really great that cats are adopted from the animal shelter and that they seem to be doing well. They have their own retreats and the cafe has been decorated in a really cool way for cats. Now for the big BUT: We were here for the first time today and were really a bit shocked by the staff. Both waitresses didn't have an eye on the tables, we always had to walk towards them and they weren't particularly friendly. But the worst thing is the gossip. My companion pointed out to me that a lady was constantly grimacing and was often swearing - I took a closer look. The waitress with shoulder-length, wavy hair and glasses had imitated customers behind her back and made fun of them and gossiped with her colleague and also in front of the kitchen. A few children and a lady were playing with a cat in the hallway and were in its way, which also caused people to roll their eyes. In addition, the toilet was very dirty and the flush (as described in another review months ago) doesn't work. There was no soap either. I think the concept itself is really cool - it certainly appeals to people who aren't allowed to have pets and/or cat lovers (like me). I'm glad that most customers didn't notice the hurtful behavior and didn't have a negative experience. I find such behavior extremely unprofessional and personally I don't think much of blasphemers 👍 We definitely won't go there again, although I would like to support companies like this.

Cozy place :) The menu has interesting “Instagrammable” dishes, stylized according to the theme. In principle, everything was very cute, the cats allowed themselves to be stroked. Only we were dissatisfied with the work of the waitress. She was very inattentive, ignored us and looked at us from high, with a certain disdain.

It was just a cat. But you should still look for them. The food was good.

Since the renovation I like it even better. The cats have lots of great climbing and hiding places and of course their private retreat. The cakes taste very good and are nice and big. Coffee is also good and the staff are very friendly. Exceptional cafe!

The food was absolutely delicious. The cats were very cute even though i wasn't able to pet one. Staff was super nice.

Admission usually only with reservation, Our table was a high table, extremely unsuitable for older people and small people, children were sad because cats couldn't get there like at the low tables. Furthermore, our table was dirty and was then wiped more poorly than well. The drinks came quickly and were good, but were left at the front edge of the table without comment. The food was okay, but my wife's bowl was dirty on the outside with residue (see picture). Furthermore, we could clearly hear the cursing from the kitchen at our place and the toilets were only usable to a limited extent (men's toilet broken and under water, only one women's toilet).

Unfortunately I cannot recommend the restaurant. You wait forever for service, it's quite expensive and there are very few cats that are difficult to pet. Unfortunately I can't say anything about eating/drinking because we got up and left after 15 minutes without service

An absolute joy to go to. The cats are adorable and the staff is extremely friendly and fast. Keep in mind it is a Cat cafe, the cats come to you when and if they want <3

A very cozy and themed cafe for cat lovers. The matcha is especially delicious here! I’ve been here several times with friends and children and will come again. The desserts taste like homemade and are decorated very nicely. Design in a pleasant green color and with climbing frames for cats. The atmosphere is always pleasant, but you need to choose a time in the first half of the day when there are fewer people and you can pet the cats and take photos.

Main courses very tasty, service friendly but reservations are offered online until 7:15 p.m. and they close at 8:00 p.m. Unfortunately I can't recommend desserts. Who should enjoy the food, dishes and ambience in 45 minutes with waiting time. Unfortunately, this isn't well thought out, maybe accept the last reservation by 6:30 p.m. and that's it.

Service was beyond nice, pasterices were super soft, you wouldn't know they're vegan. I spent HOURS here because I was working, such a cozy, chill atmosphere. One of my favorite places in Munich.

Unfortunately we couldn't get a place without a reservation. That was probably a bit naive. It was very loud. And cats tend to like it quiet too. The cat temple in Rosenheim was pleasantly quiet and comfortably furnished. And the food was super delicious.

I loved it at the Cat Temple. The cats have many places to retreat to climb and sleep. They decide for themselves when they want to interact with you. The toilets were very clean, so to keep it that way you should always close the door, otherwise the cats will have fun in them. The service was great and the entire menu is vegan. ❤️😍 I still have to give a small deduction because the burger was served with cold buns. Personally, I prefer it if they are toasted again.

I was out with my partner and we decided to chill in a cafe. I love cats so I suggested to come here. The place was quite busy when we arrived, but there were vacant tables here and there. They gave us a table in the back where the staff put their belongings (bags, jackets) and hang out :/ it was uncomfortable and unpleasant. Not to mention also that the cats didn't wander in this area. When I asked if we can move to an empty table in the front (we wanted to see the cats), the server answered rudely "you have no reservation, so that's your place". We didn't feel welcomed and saw that the service was offish and unfriendly. Food was okay, though I didn't like the tiramisu. All in all, I wouldn't recommend it. You can get better food and service elsewhere :/

Friendly service and good selection. 😊 Furnishing is a matter of taste, for me personally it seems very functional & creates a not so inviting atmosphere (but it's definitely a matter of type, I think it seems a bit "cold"). I think it's nice that this restaurant exists because I wanted a similar concept x years ago. 🐈🌱 I'm particularly pleased that there are only vegan dishes (Rainbow Bowl recommendation🌈🍲) and that the cats can have their retreat. 😊 We had no direct contact with a cat, but we didn't want to risk it unless the encounter happened by chance. If it were a little more comfortable to sit in for my taste and the type of furnishings and perhaps even more connection to the cats (possibly cat videos in the background so that there is a substitute experience or to collect further ideas), I would also give it 5 stars.

I am a fan of the concept and have often been a guest at the Cat Temple, but unfortunately I have always noticed the same shortcomings. The food is mostly good to very good but expensive. That's what you can expect in a concept cafe and in the area, that's ok too. Unfortunately, I always find the staff unpleasant. Sometimes distant, sometimes rude, sometimes unkempt. As a result, I often find the atmosphere not inviting to linger. The toilet situation is a disaster for this pretty nice store - dirty and unpleasant. Overall, it's a shame that a café with such a great concept fails because of these "basics". I'm slowly losing the desire to come back.

The vegan food and drinks were delicious. The employees were very friendly. The baby high chair had obviously not been cleaned after its last use and was therefore very dirty. The cats were more hidden because it was very crowded. I think the whole idea is great. I'd love to come back!

At first I was excited about the concept and everything until one of my fries smelled and tasted like poop. Of course I complained, but all I got was the statement that the cats weren't allowed in the kitchen. But all you had to do was smell the fries and know that it was like that. So unfortunately my last visit.

The Cat Temple is my favorite place when I am in Munich. The staff are always super friendly and the food is really great. I am so grateful that there is such a good vegan restaurant. The cats are all very sweet. They are cats, so sometimes they are more and sometimes less active, as you would expect. You can tell that the cats are doing very well there - and that's a top priority for me!! ☺️👍 The employees also put a lot of effort into keeping everything hygienic. (It works much better here than in some other normal restaurants..) The food isn't necessarily cheap, but it's not outrageously expensive either. In my opinion, it's delicious vegan food in a very cute space, and it's totally worth the money!!! I read the reviews myself and wondered why the place “only” had 4/5 stars - in my opinion it deserved 5. When I read the comments that had slightly fewer stars, I realized what was going on... One person didn't realize it was cat coffee and didn't like cats. The other person thought the fries were TOO crispy, and another person was bothered by the loud children who were there that day (which the restaurant can't do anything about...) Sometimes I really have to shake my head when I read some people's reviews... In any case, I can absolutely agree with all the positive comments! 👍 - great food - happy cats - dear employees - vegan and delicious

Unfortunately that doesn't work at all. First of all, it smells strongly of frying fat. The shop is dirty. The service seems unkempt. The atmosphere is uncomfortable. The coffee tastes terrible. The cake is small and dry costs €8. I think that's a shame because I love cats and would otherwise have come more often.

During my many visits to Munich, I am always drawn to the Cat Temple. The temple was recently renovated with a lot of love and detail, the cats and the guests feel very comfortable there. At first I was sad not to see Balou and the other cats anymore, as they are now spending their well-deserved retirement with private individuals and the cats are doing well, as I was assured. Thank you to the friendly staff who ensure the well-being of the new cats and the guests.

Nice coffee in a good location. A must for cat lovers :-) the cats run around in the cafe and sometimes sit next to you.

Friendly service, nice atmosphere, The toilet was rather mediocre clean, that's my criticism. Portions are not the largest, if someone is used to large portions they will need to eat more than just one main course The Panther Punch is highly recommended. The fries were really tasty too.

The food was okay, rather expensive. The cappuccino came after 15 minutes, despite repeated requests. The staff was very distant and cold. The cats were hardly visible - but that's understandable as it was quite crowded. For us (2 adults, 2 children) it was a try, but we won't come here again.

Amazing food and really kind personnel

I was on vacation in Munich with my siblings and the first thing we wanted to see was this cat restaurant. Because many people say that there are a lot of cats there and wanted to come by. My first impression was that there were actually few cats there. I thought that there would be a lot of cats there because the name of the restaurant says a lot and of course because it is a cat restaurant but that wasn't the problem. A few of the cats were aggressive and the food was expensive. It was beautifully decorated, the waiters were also very nice and the food tasted good too. 👍 In any case, it's overrated because of the cats and stuff. But of course if you are an animal person you can visit this restaurant but not necessarily.

Was here for the first time. Super friendly service. The food was super tasty. It's a very nice atmosphere here. If I'm in Munich again, I'll definitely come back.

We called early in the morning and getting a table 3 hours later was possible, at least for two people. 😺 The waiter was really nice and often asked if everything was OK :) The cats feel very comfortable and you can tell how well they are treated. The black cat followed the waiter all day while others ran around the cafe area.😸 The food was just great! The Neko burger was juicy and the fries were crispy.🍴 The bowl was delicious and the perfect size. The drinks tasted very tasty 🥂 All in all, Katzentempel Munich is a very nice, medium-sized café with cats, delicious food and really reasonable price-performance ratio, especially for Munich!!

Never again! Apart from the completely overpriced prices and extremely short opening times, the shop closes today at 6:15 p.m., which is only indicated by a hand-etched note on the door. Morning? No, tomorrow isn't possible, but our five-year-old son has been looking forward to it all week. Never again!!!! 😡

Delicious food and great drinks.

When we entered the cat temple, we were not greeted by a member of staff, nor could we immediately find anyone who could show us to our reserved table. After we finally found an employee after a long search and sat at the table, we had to wait almost three quarters of an hour (!) for our order to be taken. Afterwards we had to wait another three quarters of an hour for our food. After all, all the employees were very friendly and the food was good. Still, it's a shame that everything took so long, even though there were only a few guests in the restaurant.

Atmosphere and service where good but the coffee just tasted terrible, I didn't tried the food.

The place was recommended by an acquaintance. At the outset, this review is subjective, concerns only personal experience and was written exclusively to express myself and to improve, where possible. In the second moment: having been in the restaurant sector for years, I ask you to express an opinion not only from a customer who understands little but also from someone with a role who understands well. Food 10/10 I ordered “Rainbow Bowl” and “Cheezeburger”. All very good! Portions and quality more than justify the price. Service 9.5/10 Usually you give a handkerchief for flat, I only had one; I wish the waitresses smiled a little more. However, I know we are in Germany etc etc, so I partially understand. Place: space/10 Cats, apart from the kitchen, are the highlight here. Unfortunately I only saw 2 out of 6, but that's okay too. Definitely a place worth visiting! Especially for vegans.

I ordered a scoop of “creamy” vanilla ice cream as it says in the menu. Unfortunately I got icy ice cream with a bit of vanilla flavor. It was so cold and there was only ice in it. I have severe periodontal disease problems, my teeth still hurt and my gums are receding again after my visit to the cat temple. I wouldn't recommend "creamy" vanilla ice cream to anyone. Creamy is something different. It was pure ice that didn't melt even after I played with cats. I would like the owner of the Cat Temple to try his "creamy" vanilla ice cream himself. And why are there cat paw prints in men's toilets where you do💩. What happened there? And then the cats run around on the table where there is food and drinks. Other customers have also complained about unhygiene in toilets, but there seems to be no improvements. Like me, many people come because of cats, but that's not cool. Thank you!

Unfortunately the burger bun is not toasted. * Instead of the drink, I would have preferred a side dish. * Very good: Beyond Meat Patty. It tasted good but not a good lunch deal for the price, my stomach was growling again after two hours. This misses the goal of a lunch.

Delicious and vegan food in a really cool cat cafe. I recommend going in the morning as it is quieter there and the cats are more likely to be petted then. (Prices are OK)

Nice concept, food was tasty but service wasn't good, something was forgotten, the wrong drinks were brought and then they were more or less thrown out. It said the table was reserved again, we asked to pay, were then ignored for 20 minutes and then we were told in a rather friendly manner that we should leave now because the next guests were waiting.

I've been a vegan for many years, and when I'm in Germany, I like to try as many vegan restaurants as possible because the food is usually really good. This time, I was so focused on the food that I didn’t pay much attention to the restaurant’s name and I ended up here. I didn’t enjoy having cats wandering around everywhere—up high and down low. I’m not a fan of cats, and it didn’t feel very hygienic to have cat hair around while eating. Aside from the cats, the service was quite slow. I ordered the vegan chili, but it was disappointing. The portion was small, with big chunks of potato fries on the bottom and just a little chili on top. Next time I’m in Munich, I’ll try a different vegan restaurant.

I come here often because the cats are really cute. It is only recommended that you arrive relatively early, when the cats can still play around relatively undisturbed. In my experience, they were more active in the morning/lunch than in the evening. ❤️🐱 Even if I don't see cats some days, I'm happy to support the cat temple. I think the food is delicious, but the portions are a little smaller than elsewhere. I think the criticism of the service is a bit exaggerated, of course at busier times it can't go as quickly as one would like, but in my opinion the girls always tried to make our stay pleasant :) And the waiting doesn't bother us at all, if you have nice company at the time🐈

We were there on a Saturday afternoon and it was very busy, but that didn't bother the cats in any way. My first time at a vegan restaurant; the cheeseburger was very good. I wouldn't have been able to distinguish it from one with meat either. A nice restaurant with very nice staff that we would like to visit again.

We wanted to love it, we really did, but unfortunately it was hardly possible. I already knew the Cat Temple from Regensburg, which is why I was really looking forward to visiting Munich, as I had always had excellent experiences in Regensburg. I was also interested in the fact that everything is vegan, because even as a non-vegan I always like to get to know new vegan options! Unfortunately we were disappointed. It started with the fact that it was far too stuffy when we visited in the summer. Of course you can't open the door because of the cats, but I don't think an open window or a ventilation system would be asking too much. Next point of criticism. The cafe is really not big, maybe 20 people can fit in it in total. However, the waitress came by our table about five times before we were allowed to order anything. I really understand when it's stressful and it's too busy, but sorry, with 15-20 people you can really keep an eye on every table, even if you're an inexperienced person. When ordering, my cousin took a sandwich, which actually tasted great. I ordered a porridge, which I was really looking forward to. About fifteen minutes later I was informed that the porridge was currently not available, so I would have to change my order. So far so good, but I thought that as a waitress you should know something like this beforehand and then tell the guests straight away. But okay, I ordered vegan scrambled eggs. Fifteen minutes later I was informed again that ingredients were currently not available. I say this as someone who already has experience with exactly such scenarios in the catering industry and I think that, especially when so much is out, you should really tell the guests in advance or mark it on the menu. We always cancel at the moment Hand out the cards if something has turned out so that there is no need to draw again. Then I changed my mind again and took a croissant. However, this was bone dry and burnt, so bad that you could hardly eat it, really naughty. What I also found to be nonsensical was that the dear lady always had to go to a service station first, get a tablet from there and then only go to a table to take an order instead of directly using a cell phone or Orderman was equipped, is really a completely stupid system. It's a real shame because the cats and the whole atmosphere were really great, but unfortunately we were extremely disappointed by the poor, negligent service, disastrous organization and poor quality and we won't be coming back.

A cool cafe with a lot of cats inside, it's decorated for the cata to move freely. I like this concept. I ordered a kind of lemonade called meowjito and it was good.

The coffee here has only few cats and it is not allowed to pet them. If this is German rule all fine, but this can be communicated nicely and friendly to the guests. The service personnel was super unfriendly and the lady told us „Ich will das nicht mehr sehen“ in a super rude way when I wanted to take the cat to pet it as my nephew wanted to see it. Rules are rules and it’s fine and can be explained, the guests should be welcomed and explained and not rudely talked to. I will never come again and can’t recommend it. To be just surrounded with few cats for a coffee break without a possibility of interaction and a rude personnel…. The only plus-the coffee was nice, that’s why the 3 stars. To add up- when we came first we were told there is no place inside, although a lot of tables we saw were free. Then we said we stay until the reservation guests come -the lady told us then we have 20 min. We ended up staying 45 min and nobody showed up and there were still half of tables inside non occupied. While we were there there came another lady with a small kid - they also returned her and she was at the window with the small boy just looking inside for 20min or so, at the end they placed her outside - on 13 degrees with a toddler! As I said- all time 1/3 -1/2 of the tables inside were not occupied. Maybe the service ladies had a bad day. But our experience was over the border of non welcoming, not friendly and rude! PS- in Korea there are also caffees of this type (I assume this was inspired from there) - the difference - there the service personnel explains about the animals and which one is friendly where they are from etc. and you are allowed to pet them. If this is to be a copy of the Asian animal coffee places - no comparable!

The concept is very pleasant. The cats run around freely and allow themselves to be petted. I'm not vegan, but I tried the temple sandwich with the vegan chicken substitute. To my surprise, it tasted better than some “real” chicken. Very pleasant restaurant. We'd love to come back.

As a true cat lover it was an amazing experience. The Ambience was especially calm and relaxing and the cats in particullar "starlord" were very lovely. Will go there again someday and you should too

There are hardly any cats here, so there were but they were all in a room that you couldn't enter, the food was vegan and therefore couldn't be compared with real vanilla ice cream and the "cream" is also a strange cream or something - vegan. At least the service is nice but nothing extraordinary either

Most of the time cats are not there and you are allowed to pet them only if they approach you. So very very rarely. If you go there for the cats, do not go. Tasteless hot chocolate.

Unfortunately it doesn't keep what it promises. There were only two cats in the restaurant, which were besieged by all the guests. The service was friendly but unstructured and slow. The food was OK. The furnishings generic and uncomfortable.

My vegan burger was ok and the price was reasonable. Staff was very friendly and the citties very cute. I love the Idea of the place and in theory it seemed like a wonderful concept to help adopted cats. However I was really disappointed to see that while the cafe had very reasonable rules in place regarding the cats (dont force them to interact with you and respect their boundaries, tell your children to do the same) they did nothing to enforce them.  All of the 1,5 hours I spent there, a kid was chasing and petting a cat so relentlessly it finally got bitten and even after that the kid did not stop. The parents obviously did not care to intervene and the Café was so understaffed, the one waiter would not have been able to do so even if they wanted, since they were more than busy waiting all the tables on their own during the busiest time of the day. I wont be coming again and seriously recommend the management to avoid understaffing, especially during busy times of the day.

This is a wonderful place. I went there with my family and all of us were amazed by it. We love the atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent service. Cats walking around and sleeping, made us feel very relaxed, plus guests of the restaurant were very friendly. We ordered two different bowls and they were very delicious, I highly recommend them. Moreover, ice cream tastes really great, I am mango ice cream eater and this was one of the best I've tried so far. In the reviews I read before going to Katzentempel, I found few complaints about the service but honestly it was really very helpful and polite. To sum up, the place is amazing and highly recommended.

Update: on my last visit the service was great :) Food anyway. Food was very tasty and the cats are cute, but we only got our order after over an hour and after we asked. Then the wrong coffee was brought and the vegan scrambled eggs were forgotten. It was said that it was too busy, however the people next to us who also arrived after us received the same food earlier. Then it was blamed on the "new" cash register system, but according to the other reviews it's just the staff.

A special café where you can play with cats or watch and pet them. The cats are really very cute. The cleanliness of the toilets leaves a lot to be desired.

We were served very friendly, ate well and the cats are very friendly :)

Very cozy, small café with unfortunately very shy cats, the food is delicious and the waitresses are super friendly. I can highly recommend the Tiger Bowl.
