The cat cafe is completely vegan and the atmosphere is very, very nice ✨ I also think it's good that the cats are left alone and are not forced to interact with people. Unfortunately, the food isn't that good value for money... It was tasty, but unfortunately the portion wasn't that big. I realize that the money goes to the cats, but then the portion could at least be made a little fairer. (The pumpkin and mushroom goulash really didn't fill me up... and I don't eat much else haha) Otherwise the food was really beautifully decorated and the atmosphere with music was good for hanging out with friends! If the café is full, I recommend sitting in the front area, as unfortunately the service at the back will forget you a little 🙈

Unfortunately we didn't have any luck. None of the cats were in a cuddly mood. But you have to take that into account. We were there in the afternoon and evening to drink coffee and eat a little something. The service was very nice. Food and drinks were also very tasty. I would recommend reserving a table.

I was here with my daughter. We think the concept is great. The cats really have a great catwalk and a great home here. It's fun even just to watch. The food (burgers and bowls) was great. The drinks also tasted good. Very attentive and nice service, we really liked it. A must for all cat lovers.

Very nice and clean cafe in the Speicherstadt. The food is really delicious and the menu is varied. The highlight are of course the cats. While we were waiting for our order and also while we were eating, several of the furry friends visited us and let themselves be petted😁. If you like cats and fresh food, you must visit the Cat Temple!

My kids love this place because of the cats. They are the largest pull factor. We have been here several times and they are always happy about it. That being said, the cats are in my opinion the only reason to come here. The food is okay-ish, but nothing more. Coffee is meh as well - it’s okay to drink, but not very good. If you want to come here be sure to reserve a table online, as it might be difficult to get one on days where loads of people are there.

One of my new little favorite places in Hamburg's Hafen City. I love cats and with a trained eye I can see many tired fur balls there. It is still difficult to get close to a cat to pet it because they are either asleep or withdrawn. The moment when you have been chosen to pet the cat is all the more valuable when it walks right up to you. The atmosphere is very pleasant and cozy. The food was delicious but unfortunately very, very expensive. I would like to see more cats there if this is possible, because they often hide to enjoy peace and quiet.

The Cat Temple in Hafencity offers delicious vegan burgers and sandwiches in a quiet, relaxed atmosphere in the presence of relaxed cats who like to be petted, otherwise hang out stupidly and seem to enjoy the attention. The kitchen is visible, appears extremely clean, the service is personal and friendly (and obviously very cat-friendly), the ambience is tidy, clear, unpretentious. We had three really good cheeseburgers with extremely crispy top fries and a Fritz soda each for about €75, which you have to be willing to pay.

A great thing for cat lovers. Dishes are all vegan, you have to like them.

A warm, cozy place with the great joy of finding the cats completely relaxed! Very courteous and friendly staff. Unfortunately, due to my intolerances, I was only able to drink tea. But I had the pleasure of being able to pet two cats❣️ Overall, an almost family atmosphere there 😊.

What a wonderful place! We reserved a table for breakfast one weekend. The first thing I noticed was the super friendly, warm service - it was my first time there and everything about how to deal with the cats was explained again, even though there is a lot of information about the kitties and the correct behavior towards them in the menu . Both the drinks and the food came super quickly - the breakfast for two was simply delicious! The café is large and offers plenty of space for both guests and cats. The main actors - of course the kittens - are wonderfully pretty, very cuddly and deeply relaxed. I can only praise the wonderful service again - we spent 4.5 hours in the café and all the employees were absolutely great. In addition to breakfast, we also tried cakes and drinks and everything was excellent. Definitely an oasis of well-being with clear recommendation!

Unfortunately, the visit to the Cat Temple in Hamburg was disappointing. The staff were unfriendly and disrespectful, when I politely asked if I could just sit down I got a curt “no” and the staff laughed about it. An employee then said that a question like that would get an answer like that, which left me very uncomfortable and embarrassed. The food wasn't a highlight either: not particularly tasty and not very appealing. In addition, there are only a few cats that are isolated and hardly allow any contact with the guests. For a cafe that calls itself “Cat Temple,” there is a lack of feline presence, good food, and friendly service. Not worth a visit.

The concept is great if you don't want to go without the fluffy ones even on vacation. I liked the atmosphere even better last year. I had the impression that some places needed to be renovated and tidied up. The food was okay.

Can only be described as a disaster. Even if you have a reservation, you have to wait in a queue and you are let in one after the other, regardless of whether you have reserved a reservation or not. Our order was taken after 15 minutes, after 30 minutes we still had no drinks. Even though a waiter asked. After 45 minutes we asked again and after more than an hour we said we had to go slowly now. We then took the food to go and took the drink (which was just water) with us after 1.15 hours. I don't understand at all when they offer sandwiches and fries. Food was okay, a good snack, but nothing earth-shattering. Cats were hardly seen. I wouldn't do it again.

The café is completely geared towards vegan food and drinks, and you can immediately tell that a lot of emphasis is placed on high-quality ingredients. The selection ranges from delicious breakfast bowls to homemade cakes and creative coffee specialties. The cats are totally relaxed and obviously feel comfortable, which rounds off the cozy atmosphere perfectly. You can watch the animals, pet them or simply relax near them. It was really a special experience that I can recommend to every cat lover and vegan. If you're looking for a relaxing place to have breakfast or coffee while also spending time with cats, you definitely shouldn't miss this cafe!

You pay for the location and the cats, of which you only see two if you're really lucky. And they are in constant sleep. I can't blame them; I wouldn't be able to calm down with that kind of noise. The seating isn't comfortable either. Hard seats. You shouldn't stay any longer, too many customers! The hot food is so below average, a burger from Mcces is better! The only good thing was the cakes. And you pay what feels like half a kidney for them. I paid €8 for mine, which I could have gotten cheaper from a good baker. The drinks are a disaster. I don't even want to talk about them. Not recommended, neither for the cats nor for the food!

A very nice restaurant, nice concept with the cats. The portions are ok, apart from the few fries that are available for €4.50. The food itself is very tasty. Unfortunately our patties were almost cold and that's a minus point... a shame!

I wanted to order delicious vegan food and was turned away at the door because I had a child under 10 with me. Reason: The veterinary office specified this because children are sometimes too loud and that bothers the cats. All clear 😂

Very nice atmosphere, great for cat lovers. We've been there several times, we've always eaten the fries because they're very tasty and today we thought it was a joke, a handful of fries for €6.50 the last time we were there... it's just not proportionate.

Location and idea with the cats was great. Of course the cats don't always lie next to you, they are animals after all. But the food is below average. You definitely come here for the experience and for the cats, not the food.

In advance: I am neither vegan nor vegetarian myself The food itself was super tasty and prepared quickly. I had a Beyond Meat patty with cheese, a “cheezeburger”. In terms of price, the burger with salad is okay, only the fries with the high surcharge are a bit off-putting, hence only 4 stars. A slightly larger portion, or less money for the fries and it would be 5/5 stars. The drink was also super tasty and extra fresh with the mint. The service was great, the atmosphere was perfect for cat lovers and the staff were very friendly! I would eat there again at any time.

The staff seemed a little irritated, but still seemed polite. The subsequent waiting time for food or drinks was fine. . I liked the food very tasty. I ordered a matcha latte and a seasonal burger, which I can recommend. I also enjoyed the banana bread dessert. . The room was relatively quiet, even though it was full. . Overall, the cat temple in Hafencity is okay. If you want to eat something vegan near cats, you can try it out here. Otherwise I can also recommend the Katers Köök at Schlump.

I would also give it 6 or 7 stars. A restaurant where, as a cat lover, you simply have to feel comfortable, even if you are traveling alone. And the food was just delicious.

Great cafe to relax and unwind a bit :-) The food is surprisingly good and creative for a cafe, as are the drinks. You can easily see that the cats are being looked after excellently, we were even able to enjoy an extensive play session with Kiki today. The cat temple is really lovingly designed for the cats, they have places to retreat to and obviously feel comfortable. On weekends the café is very crowded and there are sometimes queues. A reservation definitely makes sense. The food is vegan and okay but not a real revelation. The prices are a bit too high for that. “Don’t call it Snickers” is recommended.

A very special place for cat lovers who like to be pampered with culinary delights. The service is attentive and warm. The food is super fresh and super tasty. The cats living there were adopted from animal shelters and clearly feel comfortable here. A very peaceful place that makes you forget the hustle and bustle of the big city.

Eating and watching cats is priceless... Unfortunately, one cat doesn't seem to live there anymore, but that happens... Spontaneously got a table without a reservation even though it was quite full... I like being there.

We were here for lunch and had my first vegan burger. I was skeptical, but it tasted good, the patty was from Beyond Meat. All the cats came by briefly, but since they have a mind of their own, they were always out and about in the café.

The cafe is easy to find. The entrance consists of two doors, a kind of lock so that the cats don't escape. You are assigned a table. Friendly and nice environment, had coffee and cake, on the plate there was a heart and a cat's paw made of chocolate powder. You can see that things are very loving in the cat temple. The cats had their afternoon nap.

Were there a few days ago to have something delicious to eat in a loving atmosphere with the cats. Unfortunately we weren't even allowed in because we were there with our 10 week old son. It was then only said that only children aged 10 and over were welcome. I can absolutely understand if the argument had been that children aged 10 and over would only do so because of their lack of empathy towards animals. (Although our son, due to his young age, wouldn't have been able to do anything to the cats, such as pulling their tails or something similar.) But I find the fact that children are generally only allowed to visit the temple until 12 p.m. to be an absolute impudence, and really, really sad.

Nice, quiet restaurant with friendly staff and little fluffy four-legged friends. We hadn't reserved a table and sat by the window in the corner. No kitten came by. One of two cat cafés in Hamburg, this cat temple is one of 16 that exist nationwide in Germany. The food here is 100% vegan and we enjoyed everything. You can also pet the cats here, but of course only if you want to and leave them alone when they are lying or sleeping. The employees were all super nice and friendly. Price wise okay. Visited as a group of four on a Tuesday afternoon in September.

During our Hamburg vacation we spontaneously went to eat at the Katzentempel. Sunday at around 9.30, the shop was about a third full, so the atmosphere was OK. The cats were exceptionally active and friendly. We had breakfast for 2. And extra carrot cake and Snickers. The dessert was particularly tasty.

I was there with a friend after I got a voucher from her for her birthday and it was really nice. I had the fries with chili sin carne and my girlfriend had a vegan tuna sandwich. The cats were incredibly cute and very cuddly. I'd love to come back!

Many guests didn't stick to it and simply petted cats that were resting. I thought that was a shame. The cats that you could pet were all really sweet. 😃 It's best to make a reservation! :)

Lovely space, great cats, great vegan food. As an omnivore, I was pleasantly surprised by how filling and flavorful everything was. My only complaints were that the staff were not enforcing rules regarding not petting the cats while they sleep, and that I was seated in the one sunny spot on a 30° day with dozens of shady ones open. Otherwise, the staff was attentive, friendly, and quick.

Great restaurant and great atmosphere. Since I also have three cats, this was just right for me.

We discovered it by chance and my daughter really wanted to go in. Children under 12 are only allowed in until 12 p.m. - a requirement of the city. So we went for breakfast and stayed for 2 hours. My daughter didn't want to go out anymore. Nice staff, clean, cute cats. The staff remained nice and didn't pressure us to leave even though we didn't order much. Everything tasted great, even the cappuccino was delicious. As a non-vegan you won't find your way around the menu very well, but what we ate was really tasty. My daughter played with the cats and I was able to read in a relaxed manner.

It’s really pretty. I don’t know it was like that just for today since the day I went is Sunday but the service was a bit slow and my coffee was a bit cold but the dessert was really good. Sadly we couldn’t be able to see too a lot of the cats. However overall I liked this place maybe other days it’s better to go rather than Sunday. But I recommend it.

Stupid idea. Cats lie and sleep all over the store. But they also sometimes lie on one or another guest's lap. In the middle of it all, food and drinks are consumed... Whoever likes it... I don't... By the way, I'm not allowed into most restaurants with my dog... However, I haven't tried it with my cat yet.

Definitely coming back the next time we're in Hamburg! A spacious establishment with all vegan food (which tasted 100% great as far as our order was concerned) AND adorable cats walking about or chilling? I personally couldn't ask for much more than that!

What a great meal... mega delicious food, vegetarian and vegan, freshly prepared, great service and as a bonus there are sweet kitties.

I have been there several times with the hope that the cats would be walking around and that I get to pet them, only to discover they are usually asleep and you have to go search for them. Feeding is not allowed, and petting them should be with rules, even calling them over is all controlled! Food wise, it’s ok if you order the right thing. In general, if you expect to go and relax, it’s not the place.

I visited with my son because I missed the cats so much. A reservation may be required, but there was a place when we went. The atmosphere of love is dominant, and since people love cats, everyone smiles and looks at each other and the cats with tolerance. I can say that Sarman and Silvester are the leading actors. I had imagined it to be more comfortable, like a living room. It was very simply furnished and sterile and far too big for a cozy cat dining atmosphere. The vegan food is okay. The temple fries for 4 euros extra are just a children's portion with 12 fries - definitely too much for 4 euros. After asking, I received more fries. Conclusion: too much brand, not enough loving. The burgers start at 14 euros and are okay.

Very unfair and mean behavior from the owner towards a friend who is looking for work. Also a bit embarrassing to be located in the Hafencity and repeatedly answer an international person in German because you are either unable to speak English or feel embarrassed. Zero empathy lol Answer: I think you didn't fully understand my review. There was neither a demand to hire the person nor criticism that it would be wrong not to hire people who don't speak German. It was more about the way this information was communicated. If a person repeatedly tries to communicate with you and asks nicely about something and you repeatedly only answer them in German, but you are aware that there is no way you can understand it and you then blame this person for asking them If you don't understand them, then it's relatively understandable that you don't want to stop by them anymore. Communication is part of the service and that's what I'm evaluating here, not that it hasn't been discontinued. I find it remarkable that you answered so long and in detail, but didn't even address the point that I actually complain about.

They dont allow children under 10 years old after 12!!! They say the cats will be disturbed by the kids, and everyone goes and wake up the poor cats. Everyone there is disturbing the cats, this is the way you care about cats? Doesnt make sense

I visited this establishment with my girlfriend, I liked the waiters, there are cats everywhere, you can pet them, but the basis of any cafe is the food, unfortunately it was not tasty there

Unfortunately we cannot rate the food and service because we were not allowed in at 12:30 p.m. because my son is only 7 years old. Who decides that 10 years is the right age to properly interact with animals? My son grew up with a cat, unfortunately it recently died of a liver tumor and the only thing he wanted was to have the company of a cat again and maybe pet it. He cried bitterly when he wasn't allowed in. And tears came to my eyes too. Very unfortunate.

General 1/5. The cats were the only good thing. Food is overpriced. My drink tastes almost like nothing. Service wasn't that great either. It was okay for a one-time visit but wouldn't visit again.

During our visit, most of the cats were sleeping, but since some older children and adults did not follow the rules and still petted the sleeping cats, one cat was awake and lay on my companion's lap and slept there . :-) The food was very tasty and lovingly prepared. The apple pie was a delight. The service was also very courteous and friendly. I thought it was a shame for families with smaller children that they were not allowed into the restaurant after 12 p.m. due to restrictions (probably animal protection). Also when we were there a family was turned away and one of the children was crying. However, I see the problem here more with the parents, because it is pointed out everywhere on the website. Anyone who doesn't inform themselves beforehand probably has themselves to blame if their own child is disappointed. It was a great visit for us and the highlight of the visit to Hamburg for my daughter.

Not even worth 1 star. So shocking, I feel it's my duty to leave a review. We were visiting from London and excited to find a vegan restaurant. One particular male waiter was extremely rude, no customer service and clearly no respect for customers who wanted to spend money in the restaurant. I wouldn't recommend this place unfortunately.
