Ein echter Geheimtipp! Die Katzenmühle in Scheidegg ist zwar ein klein wenig versteckt, aber genau das macht ihren besonderen Charme aus. Schon beim Ankommen wird man im gemütlichen Garten sehr herzlich von den Gastgebern empfangen – man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Die kleine, familiäre Gastronomie setzt stark auf Selbstbedienung, was wir persönlich sehr angenehm finden. Sich die Getränke selbst einzuschenken, hat etwas Unkompliziertes und sorgt für eine entspannte Atmosphäre. Das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker und zudem eine riesige Portion – hier stimmt einfach das Gesamtpaket. Wer eine authentische, lockere und herzliche Einkehr sucht, ist hier genau richtig!

Wie bei Freunden zu Besuch! Das Mitmach Gastronomiekonzept macht gute Laune und ist mal was anderes. Getränke selber holen, kleine Vorspeisen oder Fesperplatte aus dem Kühlschrank nehmen. Lecker Bierchen und gute Weine zur Auwahl. Speisekarte klein aber fein. Die selbst gemachten Kässpatzen einfach zu niederknien, Hubis Kaiserschmarn ein Traum. Gespräche mit Michael und Anita runden den Abend ab und das alles in einem phantastischen ruhigen Ambiente. Weil der Besuch beim ersten Mal so Klasse war, waren jetzt schon mehrfach da.... wir kommen wieder.

Ankommen und entspannen :-) Sehr gutes Essen, tolle Gastgeber und fantastischer Service. Im Garten kommt man zur Ruhe und man genießt einfach das Essen und den Garten. Kein Restaurant das ich schon besucht habe, kann hier mithalten. Hier herrscht ein anderes Konzept. Eigentlich will man gar nicht mehr weg.

Gut, wenn man nicht die Linsen-Bowl nimmt. Was auf der Speisekarte vollmundig als "Linsen-Gemüse-Bowl mit Belugalinsen, saisonalem Gemüse, Cashews und Kräuterquark" beworben wird (und bei den Hauptgerichten steht), ist in Realität ein kleines Schälchen kalter Linsensalat. Geschmacklich nicht schlecht, aber etwas langweilig. Zwei von uns hatten die Bowl bestellt und waren enttäuscht. Ich (schlanke Frau, die normale Portionen isst) bin nicht satt geworden, insgesamt finde ich 14,50€ dafür frech. Die anderen Gerichte waren wohl gut und preislich völlig in Ordnung. 4 Sterne gibt es trotzdem, weil der Garten wunderschön und für Kinder super ist.

Etwas ganz Besonderes, lässt Euch überraschen

Das etwas andere Wirtshaus. Alte Mühle, äußerst urig. "Man" holt sich die Getränke selbst im Kühlschrank, notiert seine Bestellung (Essen) - etwas kleine Karte mit leicht überdurchschnittlichen Preisen. Bezahlt wird durch Geldeinwurf in bereitgestellte Kassette. Geldwechsel bei Wirtsleuten möglich.

Was für ein wunderbarer Ort! Wir waren in der Gegend, haben gegoogelt wo man gut essen gehen kann und sind auf die Katzenmühle gestoßen. Gleich hingefahren, mit 18 Personen! und tatsächlich einen Platz im wunderbaren Garten bekommen. Der sehr sympathische und freundliche Wirt hat das unmöglich möglich gemacht, trotz vieler Reservierungen. Die Speisenauswahl regional und vielfältig. Die Kässpatzen waren die besten, die ich je gegessen habe. Das Gebäude innen einfach nur erlebnisreich und urgemütlich, das Konzept dass man sich die Getränke und kleinen Beilagen selbst nimmt, hat uns auch sehr gefallen. Wirt und Wirtin haben den Besuch dort perfekt abgerundet, beide sehr zuvorkommend, freundlich mit viel Herzlichkeit ... wir haben uns sehr Willkommen und wohl gefühlt. Herzlichen Dank dafür!

Wir sind aufgrund der positiven Bewertungen ins Wirtshaus Katzenmühle gefahren und wurden nicht enttäuscht. In einer Senke gelegen strahlt das Wirtshaus schon von außen eine gewisse Gemütlichkeit aus, die innen durch die liebevolle Einrichtung nur fortgesetzt wird. Das Bedienkonzept ist einzigartig und ich kann mich nur den vorherigen Rezensionen anschließen, man muss es einfach selbst erlebt haben. Die Inhaber sind sehr freundlich und man fühlt sich direkt wohl. Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Portionen wirklich groß.

​Wir fühlten uns bei Anita und Michael durch ihre große Herzlichkeit und die liebevolle Gestaltung des Gastraums sofort sehr willkommen. Eine besonders nette Überraschung: Für die Kinder lagen gleich Spielsachen bereit! Das frisch gekochte Essen war zudem richtig lecker. ​Das Lokal verfolgt ein einzigartiges Konzept, das sie selbst als „positives Menschenbild“ bezeichnen und das den Begriff „Selbstbedienung“ ersetzt. Getränke und Kuchen nimmt man sich selbst und bezahlt eigenständig an der Kasse, während warme Gerichte bestellt und serviert werden.

Kässpätzle und Wurstsalat halb/ halb. Wo gibt es so etwas sonst noch? Wir waren begeistert, sowas von lecker! Liebevolles und unkonventionelles Konzept mit herzlichen Betreibern. Nur zu empfehlen.

Dieses Wirtshaus ist ein absoluter Geheimtipp! Hier darf mal sich die Getränke und einige kalte Speisen selbst servieren und später selbst abrechnen. Die Gastgeber sind offene, herzliche Menschen, die einem jederzeit zur Hilfe eilen. Unsere Kinder bekamen sofort Spielsachen bereitgestellt und das Essen ist ein Traum. Hier merkt man die Liebe zum Selbstgemachten und der Gast als Mensch steht im Vordergrund. Auch das Gebäude an sich, eine alte Getreidemühle, ist eine Augenweide. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Highly recommended! Just stop by and let yourself be surprised by the great atmosphere and delicious food. Great concept from ordering to payment! The hosts, Anita and Michael, are very warm and friendly. Our boys were greeted so warmly and "sentenced" to work. It's a shame we only became aware of the Katzenmühle on our return trip.

Anita and Michael are such warm people; we felt very welcome! The lovingly designed dining room also contributes to the lovely atmosphere! There were toys ready for our children! So nice!! We really enjoyed the freshly cooked food!! Self-service is the wrong word for this place; they themselves describe the concept as "a positive attitude toward people." You help yourself to drinks/cakes and pay at the cash register. Hot meals are ordered and served.

We stopped there today during a bike ride. The hosts were wonderful and very communicative. We sat in the idyllic garden, but the various dining rooms in the house are also highly recommended. There is a very extensive selection of non-alcoholic drinks, as well as beer and wine. We tried a variety of dishes, all of which were excellent. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely stop there again.

What a fantastic location. We were here with three couples on our motorcycles and enjoyed the best Kässpätzle we've had in a long time. The ones with Räskäs (cheese)! Simply perfect! The two owners are absolutely lovely and have created a truly beautiful restaurant with many loving details. The beer garden is absolutely cozy, and the interior of the Katzenmühle is also a dream. We'll definitely be back!

Super and unique concept, you feel like home

A wonderful, imaginative place, hidden away, but anyone who is curious will find it. Congratulations to the owners for their unique idea. Creative, kind, family-oriented. Just like the house cat who visits the guests. I recommend it to everyone who wants a different kind of restaurant. The food is delicious, the owners seem like they have known each other for a long time, and the place is enchanting. I think we will come again!!!

We stopped here spontaneously and were immediately impressed. The location, ambiance, and setting were simply top-notch. The food and value for money were equally excellent. I highly recommend this place, even if you briefly doubt whether you're in the right place on the way there. Keep up the good work!

We were hungry after visiting the 5-Country View viewpoint and the waterfalls and found this truly beautifully designed little house. The entire concept fits the ambiance, and you immediately feel at home. We sat in the garden with our child and clearly enjoyed it. The food was really good and left nothing to be desired. You simply get your own drinks at the bar, and pay in cash using a designated cash register. It's something different, and it gets full marks for that!

On our way back from vacation we looked for a restaurant outside Scheidegg. Luckily we decided on the Katzenmühle without having any idea what to expect. The first impression from the outside was a bit strange, but the positive surprise at the reception was even greater. An absolutely successful concept (assistance with service, special billing method), an idyllic atmosphere, loving and friendly innkeepers. Absolutely recommended for anyone who wants something extraordinary.

We ended up in the Katzenmühle by chance and were pleasantly surprised. The hostess is a really very personable and friendly person. The cozy “like at home” concept of the Katzenmühle is unique. We enjoyed it very much and would be happy to come back on our next visit to the Allgäu :-)!!

Today I took a little trip to the Allgäu and came across the Katzenmühle. What luck, today was the opening of the season. I was really floored by the wonderful atmosphere that the place exudes. You can't even decide where to sit. This has been furnished with great attention to detail! But the most pleasant thing are the owners! I had a great time and was able to really switch off from everyday stress. I will definitely come again! Thank you for the wonderful “Cat Mill” experience! Thank you Michael for the nice conversation.

Since I'm in the area right now, I would really like to stop here. Unfortunately the Katzenmühle is still closed. I have been there many times and have always felt completely at home. The ambience is fantastically beautiful...the food is simple and excellent. Michael is an extremely friendly host who is always happy to talk about the history and the special concept of the Katzenmühle. I hope I'll still be there when the 2025 season starts.

Went to dinner more often. Small selection of dishes, is more than enough. Great ambience, nice host. Small event restaurant, things are different here! Food was good. Good price. Here you have to get drinks yourself and pour them. Payment is also made on a trust basis in a small money chest that does not change.

Yesterday we spontaneously went to the Katzenmühle for the first time and had a very nice afternoon there. The ambience, food and innkeepers are unique. The concept - a cool idea and we hope it stays that way for a long time. A great place, glad we found it.

We always enjoy going here. Nice hosts, delicious food and a different kind of gastronomy. Nice place inside and out. You can always have a nice conversation with the host and there is no rush Gladly again and again.

Great concept, really cozy atmosphere (you don't know where to sit down to discover all the details), very tasty and freshly prepared food (small but perfectly adequate menu), homemade cakes, great selection of drinks and not to forget very nice innkeepers. Always worth a visit!

I had dinner here for the first time today. The ambience is really unique and rustic and, in my opinion, designed with a lot of love for detail, it literally invites you to take a look at everything. The concept of "participatory gastronomy" is certainly a bit unusual and perhaps not suitable for everyone, but in my opinion it is absolutely innovative at a time when the catering industry is consistently suffering from a lack of staff. The food was excellent and the hospitality from the boss was very pleasant throughout. The menu may not be the largest but what it may lack in quantity is more than compensated for by the quality of the food.

A wonderful place run by warm people. The concept is based on honesty, which will hopefully prevail. This is a must-visit if you're in the area! We had incredibly delicious cheese spaetzle and it was definitely not the last time we were there!

During my four-week stay, I went to the Katzenmühle 5 times. Great concept with participatory gastronomy. Michael and his wife are super friendly, committed hosts. The Kässpätzle are sensationally delicious. But dumplings, sausage salad and dinnete are also very good. Great loving atmosphere both inside and outside. Despite the long distance, I will come back.

Nice restaurant with a slightly different service

The ambience of the former mill is very appealing and the rooms radiate a lot of comfort and warmth. It's something completely different and definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. We were welcomed by the very friendly host. The concept of self-service and taking notes yourself is something new and requires trust. What is also very positive is that the host takes time for the guests. The food was good and we would have been happy with a slightly larger portion :)

Tolles Essen bei kleiner Speisekarte. Gutes mitmach Konzept. Teils Selbstbedienung die zum Konzept dazu gehört. Und das Essen...einfach eine Wucht.

Mir gefällt dieses Lokal sehr es ist Museum und etwa anderes Art der Gastronomie. Ich finde es super wenn Leute mutig sind und neue Wege gehen. Das Beste ist wenn der erste Zeit für seine Gäste hat zur Unterhaltung und so viel Vertrauen dass er selbst nicht kassiert. Da lernt man wieder zu vertrauen!

Richtig cooles, schönes und außergewöhnliches Ambiente / Gebäude, genauso wie das Konzept mit Speisen, Getränken aber auch kleinem Shop. Sehr lockerer und cooler Inhaber mit wie schon erwähnt einem tollen Konzept das zu ihm passt. Speisen und Getränke zu wirklich fairen Preisen und mega lecker . Ein ganz besonderes Lokal waren des erste mal dort, fühlten uns sofort heimisch. Von Anfang an sehr nette Gespräche mit den Eigentümern. Herzlichkeit spürt man überall, sehr schönes Ambiente, sehr sehr gutes Essen und tolles Konzept. Und unser Bub hat Kasi die Katze auch in sein Herz geschlossen. Dank für einen rundum gelungenen Abend. Wenn wir wieder in der nähe sind kommen wir gewiss immer vorbei.

Ein absolutes Muss. Super nette Gastgeber mit einem tollen innovativen „mitmach“ Gastro-Konzept und den vermutlich besten Kässpatzen in der Region. Zur Katzenmühle gehört ein toller Garten mit kleinem Spielplatz und eine gemütliche Stube. Beides lohnt sich. Für Kinder gibt es ein paar Spielsachen und einen Hochstuhl. Kartenzahlung nicht möglich. Begrüßt wird man von Katze Kasi, sie erklärt wie es in der Katzenmühle läuft…

Wir fanden es hier sehr gemütlich. Die Pizza und die Spätzle waren total lecker. Tolles Konzept und netter Wirt. Hier braucht man kein passendes Geld. Es wird gewechselt und man kann selbst mit Überweisung oder PayPal bezahlen. Schade, das wir es nur 1x hier her geschafft haben.

Immer einen Besuch wert! Betritt man die Mühle wird man durch Katze "Kasi" in die Gegebenheiten eingewiesen. Sprich umsehen, Tisch suchen, Getränke holen. Die eigentliche Bestellung nimmt dann Michael oder seine Frau auf. Das Essen war mega lecker! Alles selbst gemacht! Super Konzept! Wir waren 2x da und werden, falls es uns wieder in die Gegend verschlägt, auf jeden Fall erneut vorbei schauen.

Tolles Konzept in Zeiten von knappem Personal. Der Kunde macht vieles selbst, aber ohne dass es störend wirkt. Die Mitarbeiter sind unfassbar nett, die Location sehr schick und entspannend, das Essen ist lecker, die Getränke Auswahl super. Wir waren zum zweiten aber auf keinen Fall zum letzten Mal da. WAS für ein cooles Konzept! Man holt sich selbst Getränke, schreibt selbst auf, was man hatte an Essen und Getränken und bezahlt auf Vertrauensbasis am Ende in eine Kasse. Dazu eine außergewöhnliche Location, toller Garten und SEHR netter Gastgeber, das Wort GastFREUNDschaft passt 100%, man fühlt sich sehr willkommen. Das Essen war sehr lecker! Käsespätzle ein Traum, die normale Dinnete auch. 100% zu empfehlen, unterstützt dieses coole Konzept und den tollen Gastgeber!
