Katers Köök - veganes Deli & Katzencafé in Hamburg

Hello dear katers Köök team, Five of us were with you in the afternoon. Was received and placed in a timely manner. Furnished with love and there is something for everyone on the menu. About the food: The taste is really satisfying and well thought out even as a non-vegan. Questions were answered directly and with good reasons. After the visit to the restaurant there was another phone call and I have to say I'm thrilled. The care with which the customer is treated! Here we talk to the guest and try to explain everything to him. I've been reviewing numbers for several years but no one has ever taken the reviews to heart! ❤️ Let love come by and even if you're not vegan, the burger is really doable and the cafe is definitely worth a visit! 😊

We spent our vacation in Hamburg last week and had breakfast at Katers Köök on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We feasted our way through half the menu over the three days and were more than happy with everything! Whether Nordic breakfast, cake, porridge or pancakes, everything was very tasty. We also thought it was great that the entry age is very strict. Unfortunately we won't be able to visit again until October, but it's highly recommended!

The positive thing is that cat welfare is a top priority here, but people go to a cat café with the expectation that they will be able to see cats and, ideally, pet them. If you touch the cats if they don't come directly to you on their own, some of the employees will immediately bark at you. Otherwise most of the employees are really nice and helpful. I've been there several times and there's only one cat that even approaches the guests. Maybe the characters of the cats don't fit into the concept here. The food is good, but unfortunately a bit more expensive. It would be nice if people here cared about the guests as much as they care about the cats.

Was here with my father because he loves cats. He is a tall southerner who stands out and he was immediately scanned and examined. He was made to feel like he didn't fit in. Too bad. I would like to see more openness, especially in a store like this. Maybe we can talk to people like that to break down prejudices. Otherwise great shop.

Super nice service and super delicious food. The gluten-free hamburgers in particular are incredibly tasty. Plus cute cats. What more could you want?

During our visit to Hamburg we happened to be in a side street. discovered this vegan cat cafe. Had sandwich toast and salad there which was really tasty. Drink a fresh ginger tea with it. Very lovely staff and so nice to look at the cats. Walk around on top of the beam or in the cafe. Finally, I bought 2 nice bags inside the shop. Will stop there again on our next trip to Hamburg.

We were in Hamburg for a weekend and visited this cat cafe - and it was just great! The Maultaschen salad was very tasty and lovingly prepared, the café itself is cozy and inviting. But the absolute highlight: the cats! Totally sweet, relaxed and well cared for - you can immediately tell that they feel comfortable and are well looked after. A must for cat lovers, we will definitely come back on our next visit!

If you come here with the goal of seeing cats everywhere and petting them, you will be disappointed with this store. However, if you are a coffee and cat lover and want to enjoy a coffee in a cozy café where a cat occasionally walks past the table, this is the right place for you.

A beautiful café that we would definitely like to visit again when we come back to Hamburg :) The people are very friendly and accommodating and the cats are just damn cute and easy to cuddle (if they feel like it ;)) otherwise, of course, it's just nice to watch them, whether alone or interacting with each other♡ The food came very quickly and was really mega delicious, I rarely eaten as delicious cakes as here :) We can only warmly recommend this place and would love to come back!

We were served wonderfully and quickly in this restaurant, the cats were damn cute, but unfortunately they were a bit shy when you went up to them, but they usually let themselves be petted and when they didn't feel like being petted they played with you or slept on a chair. The choice of food was rich and varied, there is something for everyone and the ambience is beautifully adapted to people and cats.

Absolutely recommended! Best vegan salmon and vegan herring I have ever eaten. Incredibly delicious food that fills you up well and is totally worth the price. Nice bright, open space, friendly staff and nice ambience. Very pleasant space to sit.

Super delicious vegan food. The drinks were also very good. I had the hearty breakfast and a pumpkin spice latte. The cats scurrying around were always a reason to be happy. You could also laugh with other guests when the cats scurried around in the seats.

What am I supposed to say? If you're a cat lover, you'll love this deli! The staff was super nice and in a chatty mood, making us feel very welcome and comfortable even though we didn't reserve a table before. And the cats, ofc, were super cute ♡ And one of them especially interested in interacting with the visitors. I also love how everyone can connect through the same love for cats there! The drinks and food we ordered were also really delicious and you could tell, made with love. Would definitely come again, if I'm at Hamburg again.

Entry from 10 years old, i.e. mother with 3 year old daughter is sent away again after daughter has been happy all day. But it's not very obvious if you google the café. When I said that I hadn't seen that on Google, the answer was "I can't call the café a cat café for ages 10 and up." no one feels sorry or anything else

Small nice cafe, but was very crowded and loud. That's why none of the cats showed up. Cappuccino was delicious, cake was good.

I've been here twice and I really enjoyed it each time. Cozy atmosphere and friendly service staff. We still had a few latecomers and it wasn't entirely clear whether everyone could still come, but we still got a large table without any problems. We were there shortly before the store opened and were able to see how the staff lovingly treated the cats. A plush bottom was carefully lifted from the chair as the chair still had to be put in its place. Some furry friends got their deserved cuddles. In the morning there were fewer people and more cats there and in a playful mood. On my first visit it was very crowded and there were fewer cats to be seen - which I think is only logical since cats have sensitive hearing. I think that access from 10 years is correct. I have already had negative experiences in another cat café because the guardians did not pay enough attention to their children and then the cats were treated quite roughly and the cats were also woken up. This can end badly for children. I tend to feel that young children tend to be louder and more energetic (not all of them, of course). This doesn't fit with the cat's calm nature and I don't think it's fair to accuse the café of being child-friendly. A cat café is not a petting zoo.

Super nice people and cats with a mega café. Even though I made a mistake when making the reservation, a nice table was still found for us. Everyone was really friendly and relaxed. This was definitely not my last visit!

I was just about to visit the cat cafe with my two daughters. But as soon as we arrived we were greeted very unfriendly. An obviously frustrated and bad-tempered employee almost slammed the door in our faces and said flippantly: “Entry only for ages 10 and up!” I'm honestly appalled at the way families are treated. A polite reference to the age regulations would have been completely sufficient. Instead we only experienced unfriendliness and a bad atmosphere. If you like children or value a friendly atmosphere, you should avoid this café. Here the frustration with little guests seems to be greater than the joy of being treated with respect. What a shame! Addendum to your answer: Your perception of the situation seems otherworldly to me. You raised your voice and insulted me by insinuating that reading wasn't my forte just because I didn't pay attention to the lock. Several guests turned around in concern because your behavior seemed aggressive - even though there were only two small children standing there. Your business partners should ask themselves whether such behavior is good for their shared reputation. Addendum: Personal frustration has no place in business. Kindness should be a given – regardless of whether you have children of your own or not.

We were there for Valentine's Day. The food was first class, as were the staff. Super warm and organized, short waiting time, quick and clear reservation via website. The atmosphere is cozy and you can clearly see that the little tigers feel really comfortable. Highly recommended to everyone I love. Thank you for this wonderful experience. :-)

I'm not vegan myself, but the food was really delicious, especially the cream and the pancakes, and the staff was very friendly

I would like to know why 2 cats are looking for a new home due to the closure? Are the owners of the café not taking the cats with them? These are not pieces of furniture that will be given away when it closes... they were good enough to attract guests.. please clarify, then of course I will revise my negative feedback, but for now I am shocked.

Just take a look, it's worth it as soon as you're inside, the stress of everyday life falls away and the cats 🐱 🐈 are also really exciting to watch. The food is fresh and delicious 😋. On my next visit I will order the Maultaschen salad again.

Absolutely. Totally cozy and pleasantly quiet ambience (probably out of respect from the cats) - sweet velvet paw residents who complete this great café with a delicious breakfast. Under the fluffy management, the employees are always in a good mood with a smile on their faces. I look forward to coming by again soon.

Before we went in with the little one, one of the employees at the door said in a very bad tone (in English? For whatever reason) that only over 10 people were allowed in. We had come specifically to see the cats and now there wasn't a single one to be seen... On a Sunday afternoon the place was packed, so the animals can't rest, so it's better to come during the week!! The food was impeccable; the map is small and that's a good thing! The burger, sandwich and Maultaschen salad were all very tasty!! We'll be back!!

The nice thing about a place like this is that everyone who visits here likes cats. In combination with really great vegan dishes, very nice service and a very cozy atmosphere, it makes this place particularly beautiful. We would be happy to come back and recommend you to others.

My girlfriend and I had a pleasant afternoon there. The food was very tasty and the room is cozy. The concept with cats is a good one. It's clear that the cats sleep a lot. The staff today was nice and friendly. Well, and the prices are high, but people who make a living from it pay in the middle, etc. I think it's nice with you and we had a nice afternoon and will come back again. Sehr unfreundliches Personal. Man wird unverschämt angemacht und wenn man um einen freundlicheren Ton bittet, dann wird man richtig bockig. Soll aber anscheinend Gang und Gebe sein.

Very cozy family get-together with lovely furry friends who are totally unobtrusive. The vegan cuisine is delicious. My salad with fried dumplings and bread was excellent. Reservation also worked. I'm thrilled 😻

My friend and I were there earlier and ordered the hearty breakfast and the chocolate dream pancakes along with a caramel latte each. The service was great and the waitress definitely seemed to have fun at work, everyone was very friendly. It was also nice to be addressed as “you”, which feels even more personal than being addressed as “you”. Both food and drinks (everything there is vegan) were very tasty, definitely recommended. We also liked the facility. The sugar containers on the tables were recycled glasses from smoothies or juices, the tables and chairs were thrown together differently instead of all the same, the napkins were made from recycled materials, etc. Just overall, very sustainable and cute. The cats probably come from animal welfare and have more than enough space, toys and places to retreat. If they want to have peace and quiet, this is enforced and respected by the customers, which I think is very good. There is also some kind of donation campaign where you get different benefits for different monthly amounts (€5, €10, etc.), such as a certain percentage discount if you eat there again, etc. Unfortunately, we are not from here and we're just vacationing here, so it wouldn't be entirely worth it for us, but if you're from the area and are there often, it definitely sounds like a good thing. You can probably just ask the employees on site how exactly it all works. So if you like cats and/or are vegan, this is definitely a good place to go for something to eat😸🌱

3 times there are no active cats, such as in Hafencity. Both of us didn't like the chailatte...we could only taste the spices and at 9.00 I said 9.50 and 10.50 was debited. Also only seen later. Won't be coming back all in all rather dissatisfied.

I've been here a few times now and have been impressed every time. The food is so delicious and the service is great. The cats lie around clearly relaxed and can also withdraw. Can only recommend going here!

Phew, what can I say, the vegan currywurst is more than below average. If you're thinking about it, just leave it. I actually have to think about where I've ever had such tasteless mayo. Fries are tasty after all. Service is nice.

Was there for the first time today. Immediately in love with the cats I saw. Everyone was very nice and smiled too. Franzbrötchen ice cream was delicious. Children under 10 are not welcome. Maybe it's only logical when you consider that children weren't welcomed with open arms before and that some were probably bullied. Nevertheless, another example of how children (including parents) can be discriminated against in Germany without this being critically reflected in any way, but instead hoping for understanding or insight. There's a name for this: adultism. Most adults agree that children are simply disruptive and problematic. And who should defend against it?

A ski jump is a ski jump - you can tell from the facilities and you have to know how to take it. 😈 But very specifically; Nice service, delicious cakes, nice coffee ideas and really lovely cats. You can do it!

Cat Coffee is the perfect place for cat lovers! Super cozy atmosphere with five super cute cats, all of which come from animal welfare and move freely around the café. The decor is modern - there are lots of play accessories and paths for the cats, even on the ceiling, but it doesn't feel cluttered. The cafe is only open to ages 10 and up, which probably guarantees a more relaxed environment for the cats. Katzenkaffee is also impressive in terms of cuisine: there are only vegan dishes and unusual creations such as pancakes with 'Snickers sauce' or a delicious pumpkin spice latte. The calm background music goes well with this, creating an even cozier atmosphere. Absolutely recommended, we would love to come back!

Super nice experience! Cozy vegan cafe for breakfast. I had a hearty breakfast with a winter cocoa. It was delicious and had the best vegan breakfast bacon I've ever had! The employees were very friendly and motivated. We'll be back!

Breakfast is available all day and it was the best pancakes I've ever eaten. The cats feel very comfortable in the restaurant, which suggests that they are very well looked after.

We really liked Kater's Köök, we were there at 11 a.m., friendly welcome, the kitties were all active and running around the café. Coffee and cake were delicious. We'll definitely be back.

Impressively delicious vegan dishes. Non-vegans/vegetarians will definitely find something here that will make them happy. Everything is original and unique. Delicious and enjoyable for everyone. There is also a selection of homemade cakes, which is really recommended. The Katers Köök is a very sweet coffee shop where cats move freely. The food and drink is good and the service is good too. The food and drinks are vegan. I think it's a nice coffee and would go again.

A very nice and quiet cat cafe. The food was very good, as was the cake. When it came to hot chocolate, there was still room for improvement when it came to “hot”. The waitress probably didn't have her best day either. Nevertheless, we would like to come back. The cats have lots of opportunities to scratch, play and retreat :)
