Kashgar Uyghur Restaurant in München

A visit to this restaurant was supposed to be a culinary journey into Uyghur cuisine. Unfortunately, the overall impression was significantly marred by the poor service. The male waiter did not give a professional impression: the order was taken incorrectly and not repeated for confirmation. When a dish was served incorrectly, there was no option to return it. Even simple requests such as additional plates were not fulfilled. Elements of hospitality—a smile, a friendly "Here you are," or "Bon appétit"—were completely absent, creating a rather chilly atmosphere. On the positive side, the female server, who brought us our drinks with a smile, deserves mention, thus offering at least a small counterbalance. The culinary potential of the dishes is certainly there. However, for this restaurant to become a true recommendation, a significant improvement in service quality is necessary.

While the food at Kasghar Uygur Restaurant is truly delicious and authentic, our entire dining experience was completely ruined by the extremely poor and unprofessional service. We were served by a male waiter who demonstrated clear incompetence from the start. When we ordered noodles, we explicitly stated that we would like a change in noodle type. However, what was brought to our table was not what we had ordered; instead, we received a double portion of noodles. An error in taking the order might have been forgivable if it had been accompanied by a sincere apology or a polite attitude. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The waiter showed no empathy, didn't bother to acknowledge his mistake, and handled our complaint in a manner that made the situation even more unpleasant. Instead of resolving the issue politely, this waiter made us feel like we were in the wrong simply for voicing our complaint. This is highly unprofessional for someone working in customer service. It seemed as if he had never received even the most basic training in treating guests respectfully. We finally gave up and asked for the incorrectly served noodles to be boxed. But again, the service was absolutely disappointing. Instead of helping us pack them, which is standard practice in most restaurants, the waiter simply slammed an empty box on the table and left us to pack the food ourselves. This is unacceptable for any restaurant. In short, even though the food here is good, this waiter's service ruined our entire dining experience. There was no hospitality, no professionalism, and no sense of responsibility for the mistake made. We will never visit Kasghar Uygur Restaurant again. And to anyone planning a visit, be warned: If you are served by this waiter, there's a good chance your mood will be ruined. A restaurant with this kind of service is simply not recommended.

I would not recommend dining here. While the food is acceptable in taste, there are noticeable hygiene concerns—the meat did not seem very fresh, even though it was heavily spiced. More importantly, the service was very poor. Guests are not treated with respect, and unfortunately, there appears to be a bias in how customers are approached. Although the staff are foreigners themselves, their attitude toward international guests was disappointing. Given its location next to the main railway station, many travelers dine here, but the overall experience leaves much to be desired.

When in Munich you can stop here for some soulful kashgar noodles. Best in town.

If you're looking for authentic Xinjiang cuisine in Germany, this is the place to go. The large plate of chicken is incredibly generous and flavorful. If you're worried about not having enough, order extra noodles and mix them in with the broth yourself. The Xinjiang chicken in Germany is incredibly delicious, but it's also incredibly filling. It's incredibly filling, so you'll always find it delicious, and you'll always find it delicious.

I am outraged that russian music is playing in the Uyghur cafe. First of all, this shows the position of the owner of the establishment towards the terrorist country (neutrality towards the Russian-Ukrainian war, or even support), and secondly, there is absolutely no need in any kind of mention about russian culture. Although the music was switched after the request, the impressions remained negative

I found a mouse under the table after eating, which made me feel uncomfortable. I suggest it cound improve the food safety level.

We were really looking forward to eating at Kashgar Uyghur, as we’ve always enjoyed Uyghur cuisine. Unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. From the moment we arrived, there was no greeting or welcome. After leaving us the menu, we waited several minutes for someone to take our order, but eventually had to ask. The server was unfriendly and inattentive, which set the tone for the rest of the meal. The food took around 20 minutes to arrive, which we were willing to overlook, until I found a strand of hair in my mutton soup. When I told the lady with long hair who served us, she was completely nonchalant. The dish was taken away and returned 10 minutes later, still with no apology. I truly wish this had been an isolated case, but it didn’t feel like anyone cared much. By that point, I had lost my appetite, and the strong mutton smell in the soup was too overwhelming. On a more positive note, my kids had wheat noodles with chicken and vegetables, and they said it was delicious. The atmosphere was very loud and felt more like stepping into someone’s busy family living room than a restaurant. Sadly, we won’t be coming back.

Generous portions. However, it took 30 mins to get our food after we ordered. Also, there was an incredible amount of fat in the dish, after some point I wasn't able to eat it.

Probably an insider tip for kebabs in Munich near the train station. Very fresh kebabs, tasty chicken, good sauces, and fluffy bread. The Asian dishes also look great; we'll try them next time. 😀

Honestly i don’t recommend it at all, i tired their lagman and it tastes nothing like lagman.

Horribly rude Middle Eastern man behind the cash register yelling at me in a language I couldn’t understand when I asked a question. Chased me out the door. No wonder the place was empty! The coffee shop next door was packed and service with a smile. Avoid this horrible place at all costs! Go next door instead where they are polite!

A small Uyghur restaurant above a kebab shop. The food here is very good and the portions are large. The price-performance ratio is definitely fair. Would definitely come back for the food. A few things to note, however: - The entrance is a bit unusual: you have to go through the kebab shop and up the stairs at the back to the restaurant. - You sometimes eat here with the kebab shop's patrons, in case that bothers anyone (?) - The service is friendly, but not particularly fast and a bit inattentive. - The decor is nothing special, but it serves its purpose. The ambiance is OK.

There were two of us there, and the restaurant upstairs was about half full. Drinks and my main course arrived quickly, but my friend had to wait 45 minutes for her appetizer (dumplings No. 8)! Quality of the food: My meal – veal with egg and morels – contained four morels, and the veal was mostly hard and chewy. On the other hand, it was barely seasoned. A real disappointment! Rice costs an extra €3 and was a really small portion, so I asked for a second helping – which ended up costing another €3. Considering the quality of the food, €25 – so €19 plus €6 for the rice – is really excessive. A bad joke. Unfortunately, my friend's dumplings weren't exactly a revelation for €12.90 either. The question remains why the kitchen takes so long to put them in the deep fryer. All in all, a below-average snack bar with prices where you would leave the restaurant much happier at an Indian/Asian/Italian restaurant.

During our road trip through Europe, we came across this restaurant online. The reviews were good, so we went with ten people, including six children. Downstairs, there's a sort of takeout area with seating; it feels a bit like a glorified shawarma joint. But upstairs, there's a proper restaurant. The food is a mix of Uyghur (East Turkestan), Chinese—all sorts of things. But it was truly delicious, especially the noodles and the manti. Unfortunately, they were out of baklava, so hopefully, they'll remember to stock up on sweets next time. The service was very friendly and they also spoke Turkish. Not that it's essential, but alongside German and English, it was a nice bonus.

Dort sah ich eine weibliche Servicekraft, und im Gastraum befanden sich noch mehr als zehn Gäste. Ich fragte, ob es noch einen freien Platz gebe, aber sie sagte, das Restaurant sei bereits geschlossen. It's unforgettable in eine sehr unangenehme Situation gebracht, da wir plötzlich und in Eile ein anderes geöffnetes Restaurant finden mussten. I had a lunch here before my 3rd Reich tour that started at Radius. It was a good experience and I was thankful that everything tasted quite good.

The service was abysmal. The lady was rude, rude, and obviously disinterested. The food fluctuated between good and terrible—sometimes lukewarm, sometimes simply inedible.

The service attitude is very bad. I don’t recommend it. As a Xinjiang native, I usually want to support my hometown food wherever I go. But when I entered the restaurant on the second floor, there were not many people. I found a seat and sat down. I looked at the menu and wanted to order. Then when I asked a Central Asian waiter to use English or Chinese, she answered Deutsch impatiently and walked away. I don’t mind that she doesn’t speak Chinese, Uyghur or English. The language itself is not a problem, but her impatient attitude is disgusting. I left and changed to another restaurant. I would rather eat white food than spend a penny here. As a foodie from Xinjiang, I visit all the Xinjiang restaurants wherever I travel. And this restaurant surely has the worst ever service I visited. Don’t recommend.

Avoid this store. As a traveler from Xinjiang, I passed through Munich on business and ordered a plate of dry fried noodles. The menu clearly stated 15 euros, but when I checked out, I was told "cash only". I told them I had no cash on me, and they reluctantly agreed to pay by card. What shocked me was that I didn't find out until I walked out of the store that the merchant had quietly swiped 20 euros - 5 euros more than the original price. Such behavior really makes people feel disappointed in the store's reputation. Not only should you eat well during your trip, but you should also meet honest people. I advise friends who pass by this place to pay more attention and beware of unpleasant experiences.

We were attending an event in Munich, arrived early, and were hungry. So we happened upon this place and decided to have a kebab. It was delicious. The price was reasonable, and the staff was friendly. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the waitress (a slim woman with dark hair) was very distant and unfriendly. No smile, no friendly tone. This unfortunately somewhat tarnished the overall impression. Super unfriendly. Was coming here since years. Organized dinners with the Munich expats but now this place will not be used for any reservations for dinners. The food came late for different people as we ordered different dishes. They also didn’t say that the card machine is not working. Totally unprofessional. 0 stars.

By far one of the most disgusting kebabs I've ever eaten. I'm still feeling nauseous two hours later. My side of fries consisted of obviously old, soggy fries—probably just leftovers. They didn't even bother to reheat them properly.

A lot of people went to a company dinner together. The food was good, but the check was not pleasant. The service attitude was just to bring the food to the table, and there was no greeting during the meal. It was not a service at all. Our total consumption was almost 800€, but he insisted on a +10% tip, saying that it was a must in Germany and kept cursing. I have been to Germany many times, and I have learned a lot from him.

My friend and I were overwhelmed by 8 euros

This gem of a restaurant is located very close to the main train station and a nice choice for a tasty meal nearby. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor of their hand-pulled noodles, which is the dish I grew up eating in my hometown and miss the most living abroad. The noodles were authentically hand pulled and had satisfying chewiness while the topping dish was prepared with care and tasted great!

Chinese people please avoid this restaurant. The waiters are blatantly being rude. After I sat down and ordered, four or five tables of European guests came in one after another. The waiters never served me tableware, while the European guests who came later than me were served tableware. The waiters skipped over me and served the European guests next to me. It was really too much. Also, if you don't speak Chinese, please don't write Chinese on the menu.

While everything looked clean, beef stir fry was too salty and lacked flavor. I got the one resemling soup consisting of beef noodle peppers and it lacked flavor. Peppers were raw.

The waitress, who was eating, asked us all to pay. She said we could continue sitting afterward... And the store is open until 11 p.m.... That's really cheeky...

They gave me raw rice, which was slightly cooked, had to return back the food and packed only curry, waste of money.

Went there to had dinner I took the menu card myself and had a look Since it was halal I became very interested and expected authentic halal Chinese experience I went to the waiter and placed my order In total I ordered 3 things 2 main dishes and one side dish for me as i expected their portions won’t be huge First came the main course 1 I waited for a couple of mins but nothing else came so I started eating without side dish As I was about to finish my main course 1 the side dish arrived which I tried to barely use with lamb main course , the noodles even then were served cold so I had doubts if they were fresh or someone forgot to bring And then again as I had finished my food and was sure that nothing else is coming the waiter bring another main course that I had ordered I don’t know why their service was so slow or why didn’t they serve or bring all at once Their food was excellent in terms of taste and I absolutely loved it But the waiting time between different dishes was 10-15mins on average and their service was below average Their prices are on the higher end and keeping in mind their service it’s quite unjustified

Fried rice and beef spicy but not spicy and bakwan (name in indonesian), so delicious for me, beef is so tender. Bakwan not tasty but it's okay because tasty is typical of asian food 😁😁 We recommend this food if you from asian and looking for rice

The "Kebab with Everything" from Kashgar Uyghur - is not a so-called 'rotisserie'! - is really very good, everything else like falafel, lahmacun etc. is always “homemade”. Just a few meters from Bahnhofplatz. Salads and everything else are always top-fresh, but you can see that for yourself in the display, which makes you want to eat. And it is "Real Döner", not "Leberkäs on a skewer" as is now unfortunately almost exclusively available in some areas of Germany (NRW, Berlin, etc.). Don't let this rubbish be sold as kebab! When he asks "spicy?" If you say “European spicy”, then it has pizzazz, but only burns once ;-) Doner kebab currently costs €7.50 at the beginning of May 2025 - but it was only increased a few months ago (beginning of '25?), but I understand this shop (the price has been maintained for a long time) and I hope it stays that way for a while. If you get a 10 ticket, always have it stamped nicely, then you get the eleventh kebab for free. If the weather is good you can sit outside, but please don't expect an atmosphere like on the roof of the Bayerischer Hof. Let's put it this way: the area is more Bertold Brecht than Richard Wagner. But sometimes it's entertaining, occasionally you're begged - sometimes it's unpleasant, sometimes it's OK. It's good if you know beforehand and can take action - when in doubt, I pull out my debit card and ask for the reader... If you don't like that, you can sit comfortably on the first floor "for a kebab", especially when it's too cold outside. I also like these people who are honest and do a decent job.

So, me and one of my Asian friend visited this place. Right in the beginning the behaviour of waitress was really off towards me and she was completely disregarding me and giving her whole attention to my Asian friend (I am not Asian btw and dark skinned). The food was below average and overly priced. The waitress showed few more gestures which I found nearly racist. I don't think I want to visit this place again. The rest of the staff was also seemed like they don't want to be there. My review is for the people who are not Asian descend or dark skinned. It can be a rant too. But I would suggest you to try an other better option.

Incredibly tasty and delicious food! The meat is soooo juicy and good! Portion sizes are really good. All food is halal. This is my top place for lagman here. Wait time is very small. The service is also very nice.

Worst customer service and serving size

We ordered box Döners and honestly, it was a disaster. Despite having a mountain of chicken right there, the guy slicing it was acting like he was guarding gold. He was slicing it so thin and so stingily, it felt like he wanted that chicken to last him a lifetime. Watching him struggle to get even a few tiny pieces was almost painful. The person preparing the Döner added mostly vegetables and barely any chicken — what a total rip-off for the price. On top of that, the spicy sauce was insanely overpowering and completely ruined the taste. One of the worst food experiences I've had near Munich Central Station. Save yourself the disappointment — avoid this place completely.

If you care about your money and your taste buds, stay far away from this place near Munich Central Station. I wouldn’t even recommend it to someone.

Deeply disappointing — I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

I’m so happy I found this place while waiting for my connection at München Hauptbahnhof and would gladly come back again to Munich just for this meal! We had the hand-pulled noodles with chicken (#27) & hand-pulled noodles with kalb (#34) and the noodles, meat & veggies were all just perfect! A nice worker downstairs informed us that the restaurant was upstairs, and all the staff were all so warm & friendly. Restaurant was filled with people too, always a good sign. Very happy to support this food, culture & establishment — thanks so much for a great meal! I wish that there was good Uyghur food in Berlin.

Me and my friends ordered a kebab here on a night out. 2 of us had to go back to our hotel because after eating here we felt so bad from stomach pain and had to sit out on a party. I've never ever had a problem with kebabs before. Can't recommend eating here, especially if you have something to do afterwards.

Tasty Chinese food with a lot of verity.

Pretty borderline! We ordered two kebabs and were still a bit hungry around 3am. Salad was visibly already empty, but the order was taken without any problems. We assumed that something would be added, but then there was only kebab with meat and the rest of the red cabbage. We still had to pay the full price. We didn't want to make a fuss, we were hungry, but at least: Meat is one of the best things you can get in a kebab in Munich.

I've been up to the restaurant several times. The food is very tasty and authentic. The prices are therefore fair. The service was always very nice. I can't judge the snack bar downstairs.

Overall, I gave them 3* due to the following: - we came to this restaurant assuming they serve halal food, which is correct. however, there was no clear sign (not sure why); - food quality and taste, by German standards, were good and deserved 4*; - quality of service was below our expectations, they seem to selective about guests who deserve their smile; - ambiance was shabby and deserved 2* max. Overall, this outlet has no differentiation and, thus, did not deserve my recommendation.

Está a pocos pasos de la estación principal de tren. Decidí tener una comida de caja que era de 10 euros. Tenía unas patatas fritas junto con carne de Donador y ensalada en una caja pequeña y yo también tomé una bebida gaseosa con ella. La comida estaba bien. Llenó un agujero pero no diría que fue excelente.

It’s pricey. No one else has a laghman and it’s more expensive than kebap because it has a lot of meat. I don’t know how to make the noodles. It’s as thick as a thermos cup.

Very tasty food, I had samsa and kawap. Meat is super juicy and the seasoning is really tasty, cumin etc. The homemade noodles were also very tasty. Highly recommended, with lots of vegetarian options too.

Authentic Uyghur cuisine with great attention to detail! An absolute highlight for fans of Central Asian cuisine! All dishes – whether lagman, manti or samsa – are freshly prepared and taste simply fantastic. You immediately notice how much love and tradition goes into every meal. The flavors are intense, the ingredients are fresh, and the preparation is authentic. If you want to experience real homemade specialties, this is the right place for you!

I have been to the Kashgar Uyghur Restaurant several times and have been absolutely satisfied every time! On my last visit I had a kebab plate and this delicious dish with tender meat, fresh pepper pieces and an aromatic sauce, perfectly combined with fluffy basmati rice. The dishes were excellently seasoned, freshly prepared and tasted simply great! Anyone who loves authentic and varied cuisine should not miss this restaurant. Friendly service and great value for money round off the experience. Always my pleasure! 😊

I don't think he speaks English. Two Asian women were traveling and went to Munich Central Station. Since it was a crowded restaurant that seemed delicious, we waited in line for a long time. Most of the customers were local men. We tried to eat a kebab and leave. When it was our turn, he didn't take our order.
