I visit the Kasematten often and am always very satisfied. The ambiance is wonderful, and the service is excellent. The waitress, Eteri, is extremely attentive and always keeps an eye on the guests, so she immediately notices if someone needs something. The service is fast and professional.

We can only report positive things about “Gosch”. We were once again well looked after. The employee Orhan was super friendly and accommodating and did an excellent job. We will definitely continue to come to you and enjoy this great atmosphere and great food.

We were there on Saturday and we really enjoyed it. Food was great, drinks were reasonable and the atmosphere was great too. The only negative point was the “billing”. When we wanted to pay, the message "Cash only" came up (such information would be helpful at the beginning or a note on the card). When we wanted to break up because of the cash payment, the waitress wasn't very happy about it. We then got the money together and paid, but we did not receive a statement or receipt (the request for this was ignored). The amount was around 330 euros (for 6 people), so it would have been good. Nevertheless, I can recommend the store, just not if you need a receipt

It couldn't be worse Such a disrespectful, unprofessional and unpleasant experience has never happened to me. The waiter was simply the unfriendly person who has ever served a table. He brought the wrong food, accused us of having ordered it that way, and when he realized his mistake, there was no apology, but an accusation: because of us he had lost €30. Then we were given a non-carbonated cola, and when we responded we were told that we had “no idea, there was carbon dioxide in it”. Zero customer service, zero respect. When the right dish finally arrived, half of the side dishes were missing. No word, no follow-up, nothing - just slammed on the table and ignored. And as if that wasn't bad enough, the toilet attendant insisted on money even though we were guests and ate there. The toilet was dirty, disgusting, and the lady there was rude and rude. Finally, the absolute low point: no card payment possible, but not a single indication of this - neither at the entrance nor when ordering. You had to pay in cash and didn't even get a receipt. Absolutely non-transparent, if not even legally questionable. This restaurant is an imposition. Rude, dirty, poorly organized - and the staff seem to work against the guests rather than with them. Although the food and ambience were good, I would never go there again.

Ballermann in Düsseldorf - lots of tourists, quality of food & drinks is average - location on the Rhine is nice - ok for partying like on Malle -

Can only be recommended, in the sun directly on the Rhine and our waiter was just great, not pushy, honest and charming, I think his name was Deniz and I noticed his great hairstyle straight away 👍

I would like to give a very special compliment to the waiter Deniz. His service was consistently outstanding - friendly, attentive and extremely professional. He put a lot of effort into making sure that we felt completely comfortable. I was particularly impressed by his quick comprehension and his feeling for the guests' wishes before they even had to be expressed. Thanks to his warm manner and his confident demeanor, our visit became a real experience. It's rare to find such service - Deniz is definitely a great asset to the team!

It's really nice there, the waiters are all really nice and just great. I always enjoy going there, it's a standard weekend destination :)

There were three of us and we had to change our seats twice because the boss said so and the waitress couldn't do anything about it...that's what they said. We were then seated with other people who, like us, weren't thrilled because the table was too crowded. During the second implementation (a larger group came and needed the whole table) we didn't feel like it anymore and left the restaurant. In the end the bill wasn't right either and the "lovely" waitress added something on top of it. It's a shame, because the location is of course fantastic, but unfortunately it's not worth recommending due to the poor service.

At 3 p.m. we wanted to have a bite to eat and something to drink, so we spontaneously decided to go to the store. The supposed waiter at the entrance turned out to be a “bouncer” who literally asked us what we wanted at the entrance?! That was a nice greeting when you receive guests in the restaurant. When I asked him if he still had a table available for 4 people, he refused with the words - “not today guys” We grinned and thought he was joking until we realized relatively quickly that he was serious. So to our surprise, we quickly realized that there were only German or European-looking people there. Were we denied entry because our group was predominantly non-German?

Limitedly recommended. No card payment possible. There was no invoice either. But then an attempt was made to collect a second time.

Mega location, best sunset in the city!! Good drinks and wines, I would especially advise you to go to the waiter called “Little Deniz”. He takes care of the perfect day.

Once again, as a Düsseldorfer, I had to pay the bill twice. You can do that with tourists, but you can't do that with me. I'll never go there again. It's a shame, it's hard to believe

You can't say anything against the service and the ambience. But totally disappointed with the food. You order with fried potatoes instead of a foil potato, which I can't eat because of the sour cream. And get the foil potato. After I complained, they were supposed to be submitted later. But when I finished eating there were still no fried potatoes. Unfortunately, the meat was also very finished. I also had to pay the full price for what I hadn't ordered. Very, very unfortunate.

Absolutely discriminatory and racist behavior from the security staff! We were refused entry on the grounds that we “didn’t fit in with the audience” – a clear reference to our appearance or origins. Such behavior is unacceptable and has no place in an open and diverse society. Shame on you!

Service is subpar, waiters try to cheat, then no more service. Never again....

A great location in itself, BUT… ... I reserved a table for 15 people for a bachelor party about 2 months in advance. When we wanted to take our seats, it was explained to me at the entrance that all the seats were occupied and that our reservation was actually worthless (Frankenheim). These would be accepted by telephone and online, but they could not be implemented. This of course makes planning - especially for a larger group - invalid. After a short discussion, I then contacted a nice young employee (Zum Schlüssel), who made every effort to find a place for us. In the end, we were able to spend a great time in a great atmosphere, more or less together, in the best weather. A complete failure would have greatly affected our planning and the event itself. The question arises as to whether this could not be dealt with openly. According to the gentleman's words at the entrance, this is a problem that occurs frequently. Then I ask myself whether, as part of transparency, one should say in advance that reservations cannot be accepted for certain days or times.

Today I decided to drink a Coke in the store with my classmates on a nice Monday when the weather was good. After we paid we were told that we didn't belong in the store and that we should go somewhere else. The little man with the gray hair shouldn't verbally insult young people because they don't tip for a cola. This is a real shame because before that it was always a nice atmosphere with nice waiters.

I go there every week but this time we were told by the little older waiter with gray hair that we didn't belong there just because we didn't tip for a coke (we're still students). And the kicker was that at the end we were insulted as we walked past. The waiter is a disgrace to this lovely shop!

The casemates on the Rhine promenade are simply great! Absolutely worth 5 stars. The location right on the water is unbeatable, with a beautiful view of the Rhine – perfect for relaxing and people watching. The snacks and drinks were really good, fresh and tasty, plus fast and friendly service. The atmosphere is relaxed yet lively – just the thing for a break by the river. A perfect place to enjoy Düsseldorf at its best. I'll definitely be back!

Although the restaurant has an attractive ambience on the outside, the inside appears cold and impersonal. The service staff was consistently unfriendly and gave the impression that they only saw guests as a source of revenue. A third bottle of wine was initially charged on the bill, which was only removed again after persistent complaints. Due to these questionable billing practices and the overall poor service, the price-performance ratio is not right - a recommendation cannot be made and borders on fraud.

Service staff friendly & quick, music terribly loud and spoils the whole atmosphere, no 0.3 sprite although advertised on the menu. My tip: avoid!

A beautiful place and you eat great food

Enjoyed a wheat meal right on the water in the sunshine. Everyone there was very friendly. Gladly again.

For me, the casemates are the heart of Düsseldorf's Rhine promenade! Perfect location right on the water, a huge selection of bars and restaurants - there is something for every taste. Whether for a relaxed coffee in the afternoon or going out in the evening: there is always a good atmosphere here. Simply unbeatable, especially in summer with a view of the Rhine. Real holiday feeling in the middle of the city!

In itself a nice location right on the Rhine, but that’s about it. The wine spritzer was very watery. THE KNULLER came when paying. We were given an amount that we thought was OK at first, then when we did the math we noticed that the waiter had simply added 8€ to it. When we mentioned this, we were given 10€ back without any discussion.

I was having a drink with my friends in the cassettes on a Saturday evening. It was a really cool evening and we received great service from our waiter Joseph. It was a really great atmosphere and we really enjoyed it. Recommended. Definitely coming more often now.

Thursday 2 p.m. I would have liked to eat a few potato pancakes here, but the kitchen only has two sides. Disposal? Why is this not stated anywhere, not even on the internet? It's a real shame, I wouldn't put the menus open on the table!!!

Actually always like the casemates, only this time we were caught by a really unfriendly waiter, not attentive, didn't look at you while serving you and he couldn't open his teeth, in the end he was surprised that he didn't get a tip. Otherwise we are in the key near the casemates and feel comfortable there. The tapas plate didn't match the price/performance ratio.

Rip-off in Frankenheim!!! Always have the drinks written on the lid of every order. The waiters end up charging more and more. Take advantage of the fact that you lose track of things with several people. An absolute disgrace. You never receive an invoice. Nobody responds via email either. Never again.

We usually always had a nice day here. Today the six of us had reserved a table for 6 p.m. at the Frankenheimer. According to the bouncer we should wait. After 20 minutes we asked how things were going. When we asked, the bouncer told us that we should wait (just like 20 others, mind you). We then pointed out to him again that we had been waiting for 30 minutes despite having a reservation. The bouncer attacked us and shouted at us to please wait and said various other things. This was just a nice request on our part as we wanted to celebrate a friend's birthday here. We then left the “queue” and went somewhere else. Customer friendliness is zero. Reservation apparently they don't know what that means and they probably don't know how to communicate sensibly with women/people as a man or in general. Very, very unfortunate.

Had reserved a table for 6 p.m. because it was a friend's birthday. At 6:30 p.m. we asked when we could go to our table and were told very rudely by the bouncers that we had to wait just like all the other guests. When we asked further questions, we were told that we could leave right now and that we wouldn't be able to come back in because we were annoying. Never experienced anything so outrageous. Bottomless impudence! Ruined my girlfriend's birthday. The main thing was that the coked-up bouncers were able to exercise their power.

Great restaurant right on the banks of the Rhine. There is a lot here from breakfast to dinner. Service is friendly even if it was very busy there.

The waiter said to pay his “bill” €109. We did the math ourselves and together with the waiter we came to €100.50. The waiter wanted to cheat on his drinking allowance after he had forgotten us several times and brought neither drinks nor the glasses we needed.

The food was tasty (Leberkäse with fried eggs and roasted potatoes), the beer was good. Large location, lots of space, nice view of the Rhine. Minus two stars for the inability to pay by card (cash only), paid toilet for customers and settling the bill on a beer mat and from the waiter's memory (the final amount was different than the one on the menu).

Waiter was so rude. He push&hit us. We were want to pay with credit cart at the beggining. And waiter said to credit cart is not valid. So our friends want went to the atm inside of the restaurant. We were all staying there no one of us leaved the restaurant. And suddenly waiter gets mad for no reason. He push me and threating us to calling police during the our friends withdraw a money from atm. The waiter had able to see him because atm is inside of the restaurant. Finally we paid cash but the main thing is waiter’s attitude was so rude.

Basically a beautiful promenade with many different gastro offerings. Unfortunately, what ruins everything for me is that you can only pay in cash everywhere. Unfortunately no card payment possible. And it's the year 2024...

I went there with my wife and my kid on 4th April at noon hours, The waiter coming from Sri Lanka was a bad, rude and liar guy. We asked him if there is french fries then we will sit, he said yes we have. for an hour he did not bring it and I asked him several times where our order was. And finally one hour later he said they do not have french fries. Than I complained about it to him politely. He said, ok I will bring it and you will pay it. I said I am leaving I do not want it. He bring the french fries and FORCED me to pay. DO NOT LET ME and MY FAMILY TO LEAVE. I PUSHED HIM AWAY and did not pay. DO NOT GO THERE with your family.

Incredibly rude waiter, I detest cigarettes, the used and smelly ashtray was put back on the table after I put it on another one. Ruppy is another euphemism when it comes to service.

We got a seat, but the waiter sat us at the table with other people who were noticeably not interested in us and said so. The waiter then complained to the people that “it was his shop”. Still we were not served after 30 minutes even when we asked for it. So we got up and left. Service terrible, staff arrogant and aggressive.

Food quite good. Tortellini from the package, not fresh. Sauce is good with spinach and shrimp. Service good, friendly and tidy, but no debit card payments possible, and that in 20w5. Incredible and costs two stars for the service and part of the tip.

Well, what can I say, the service in our row was inadequate. It took half an hour to place my order and that was only because I stood up. Otherwise you are ignored and the waiters go for each wine and order individually. I am pleased that the owners are not dependent on sales. We only had a drink because we didn't have the two hours' notice for the food. The wine was cold and tasty. The food is usually good there too. Guests at the next table even moved so that they could get served A and get B food. The ambience is fantastic on a sunny day. Guests from Norway on the left, Italians on the left and there was just a good, friendly atmosphere. I can only recommend it but make sure you allow enough time and hope that you get a hard-working server who knows what's going on.

The DJ is very successful but it is very difficult to find a place. Overall it is a fun and entertaining place. I think it is worth going.

The waiter (older gentleman) was extremely rude. After we ordered something to drink, we were shooed away from the glass front because that was “his territory” and he wouldn't make enough money with it. Also aggressive undertone. We haven't been treated like that anywhere before, it's not possible.

The shop is quite famous. But it doesn't suit my taste. The meat lovers will definitely like it. The sausage is too salty, and the waiter didn't even give us some bread to eat with it.
