Basically a good location and good atmosphere. However, the service and accordingly the operation is subpar. Since the store was full, I was happy to accept the initial waiting time. When we only planned a short stay, we were almost turned away from the store because not EVERYONE at the table wanted to order a drink. After everyone had ordered something, the service was very friendly until the bill came. For 5 drinks, which cost around €34 according to the menu, the waiter “kindly” said: “Because I teased you earlier, we’ll round it down to €40”… I’ve rarely seen something so bold! All in all okay, but the service ruins the experience and it seems to be an everyday occurrence that the waitresses are only looking for big tips! Not recommended!

Terrace on the Rhine / Beer garden Kasematten - Definitely a place to forget: If you have a lot of patience while waiting and like swimming in crowds, go there.  Instant instant coffee tastes better when brewed with warm water! So coffee went back because it was too horrible. Ate pizza, well, I was very hungry. Unsavory note: going to the toilet costs extra. The good thing at the end: At least you were warmed by radiators on the terrace.

The coffee tasted like it came from a Senseo. Staff is unfriendly. You pay to use the toilet, despite ordering. Ambiance is drowned out by terrible music and tourists.

Sitting here right now and all the waiters have been running past us for 10 minutes. Really pathetic. And it is moderately crowded. But you'd rather chat with friends at the next table. We were here twice today...for the first and last time! Thanks for nothing!

Both the location and the atmosphere in good weather would be absolutely great. We were a group of 7 hungry girls and we went to the casemates to eat full of anticipation. The first round of drinks were quickly brought to us. When the food came we were all shocked and frustrated at the same time as the portions were more than inadequate for the prices. We kindly asked the waiter if there would be a second portion at this price. The boss brushed it off and said it just looked so small and the portions were appropriate. When we politely asked for a schnapps on the house, the waiter nodded at first and ultimately refused it when we poured it out. In the end the waiter miscalculated by €18 in his favor. Intention or oversight remains unclear. In general, the behavior of employees and boss were not really likeable. It's a shame, it had so much potential but we won't come back a second time.

I visited the institution with friends on Friday. I rarely leave reviews, but the service and customer service is zero. The waitress is not competent and not at all trained to communicate with people. The establishment clearly saves on good service. I left the comment only so that a reasonable person would read it and correct such a critical situation with the staff. You have room to grow. good luck

We were there with 40 people and had nice, large tables. The food was very tasty, the location on the banks of the Rhine is great. Even in bad weather, it was nice and warm under the roof and we had a good and long evening!😊 The service was a bit overwhelmed at times and you could only order from one of the three waiters, which was a bit complicated. All in all, great for large groups & regardless of the weather!👌

I had recently lost my jacket in this store and had assumed I would never see it again. But the team here really surprised me in a positive way! Not only were they incredibly friendly and helpful, but they went to the trouble of tracking down my jacket and informed me immediately when it was found.

The Düsseldorf casemates are a real highlight! The food was absolutely delicious – fresh, tasteful and perfectly prepared. We were particularly impressed by the variety on the menu. The service was first class: attentive, friendly and always available without being intrusive. Added to this is the fantastic location directly on the Rhine, which further enhances the entire experience. We will definitely be back and can only recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a successful evening with good food and great service! ☺️

We were completely impressed by the Düsseldorf casemates! The food was absolutely delicious - from the starter to the dessert simply outstanding. The quality and taste convinced us. The service was also great: super friendly, fast and professional. The great atmosphere right on the Rhine is particularly nice – simply perfect for a relaxed evening. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back. Absolutely recommended!

Good food with nice service with a good view. The restaurant is located directly on the waterfront. People watch, see and be seen, for sports fans there is a screen in every direction. Price-performance ratio is perfectly fine.

I've been there several times now and can't fully recommend the visit. It's sometimes good, sometimes bad: sometimes the service is grumpy, sometimes it's great. An EC card is generally not accepted.

The food came quickly and was quite ok, nice place by Rehn. The restaurant only takes cash, which there was no clear information about, the waiter then referred to it being on the last page in tiny text. There is an ATM at the restaurant with a sky-high fee of over 18%+3€...💸💸💸

Very poor customer service, not tasty, not recommended. Most recently, about 10 days ago, I had to pay the bill in this “restaurant” without a corresponding receipt/receipt, which shouldn’t be okay🤔

As Düsseldorf residents, we regularly visit the casemates. Great location right on the Rhine to watch the goings-on on the promenade with a cold beer. That was the positive. Maybe the Köbes, as is typical for the Rhineland, like to have a loose mouth. Unfortunately, the food is only snack quality, which means we prefer to eat somewhere else and just drink a few beers in the casemates and enjoy the view

Atmosphere and the view is beautiful and fantastic, specially in a sunny day!

The food is ok. Prices look reasonable no extremes e.g. Backfish (aka fish n chips) 14,80€ for a medium portion of fish, cheeseburger 16,50€. It was a small bread with fried potatoes. Glass of wine at 5,80€ glass of beer (0,5L) 6,80€. Service is fast and hectic, but I didn't mind. What was the most annoying is that they don't accept card payments and it is not announced anywhere. Only cash! It is in a privileged position on the Rhein and that creates a cool atmosphere.

Nice staff, always something going on and I can also recommend the beef roulade for €17.90 you can't say anything. I come often and everything is always great. Unfortunately you are only allowed to drink alcohol here and not smoke CBD or cannabis, hence the 3 star deduction... where actually everyone knows that alcohol is more dangerous than cannabis... I'll look for a new, nice place where you can smoke cannabis.

Cool location and great atmosphere

I recently visited this store with a companion and unfortunately our experience was far from what one would hope for when it comes to good service. We initially sat down at a free table, but were asked by the waiter to change seats because it was supposedly for larger groups. Although we politely followed the instructions and sat at another table, after a wait of about 10 minutes we were again asked to vacate our seat. This constant sending back and forth is not inviting! I'd rather leave my money somewhere else in the future ;)

Service at Denis was great, always provided with fresh drinks. The ambience is also great right on the Rhine. Gladly again!

The food was very good and the portions were large for a good price, but the waiter we had grunted more than spoke to us. He was rushing about so quickly that he spilled part of the drink on our table, and later dropped someone else's drink on the floor completely. He took my plate before my partner was finished eating, which was strange and not normal etiquette. When it came time to pay, it was cash only, luckily I had some on me but when I saw the ATM situated inside the restaurant next to the toilets I knew it would have a large fee so definitely a bit of a scam going on here. I gave the exact change, also luckily since according to other reviews they are very happy to calculate their own tip. Overall, despite the good food, I'd avoid it. Left feeling a bit deflated and there were other restaurants we could've gone in with better more polite service.
