Das Essen ist sehr gut. Als Gruppe sollte man Wartezeit mitbringen.

2 mal hatten wir das Vergnügen bisher und ich fand es jedesmal wundervoll. Auch das sich von jung bis alt alles hier trifft, finde ich super :)

Wirklich leckere Kartoffelgerichte, auch sehr gut um Spargel zu Essen. Ambiente wie immer, die Gäste sind Samstagmittag tendenziell Rentner.

Immer wieder nett. Gutes, qualitativ hochwertiges Essen. Es gibt Mittagstisch. Als sehr angenehm empfinde ich, dass das Personal nicht ständig zu wechseln scheint.

Der Service war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, das Essen war köstlich! Super!

10 02.26 : Für ein Essen als Abschluß einer kleinen Beerdigung bat ich im Vorwege um einen Tisch für 5 Personen. Wir fanden dann zur vereinbarten Zeit einen sehr ansprechend eingedeckten Tisch vor- auch alles andere war (wie immer) dort "Top". Danke dem Team!

Wir waren zu fünft mit 2 Kindern vor Ort als spontaner Besuch. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen. Das Essen war absolut köstlich. Der Service war stets freundlich und zurückhaltend. Das Lokal ist ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen, durch die Holztheke sehr urig, insgesamt aber passend. Die Kinder konnten sich frei bewegen oder in der angepriesenen Spielecke für sich sein. Wir haben uns sehr Willkommen gefühlt. Vielen Dank.

Waren bis jetzt 3 mal im papas. Das Essen ist jedesmal sehr gut gewesen , vom Geschmack und der Portion her. Der Service war überaus nett und aufmerksam. Haben zwar 30 Minuten Anfahrzeit ,das ist es uns aber wert . Werden noch oftmals hierher kommen.

Waren 2 mal kurz nacheinander. Ich finde besonders die saisonalen Speisekarten gut. Hatten hier Wild (Hirschrollbratwn) und Grühnkohl.

Danke an einen tollen Tag und danke an das Team Wir haben heute standesamtlich geheiratet und waren anschließend um 13 Uhr zum Essen hier. Schon beim Sektempfang haben wir uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Sowohl die Kellnerin als auch der Kellner waren äußerst freundlich, aufmerksam und höflich. Auch der Chef kam mehrfach vorbei und erkundigte sich, ob alles zu unserer Zufriedenheit sei – diese persönliche Aufmerksamkeit hat uns besonders gut gefallen. Der gesamte Ablauf war zeitlich perfekt abgestimmt. Der Raum war wunderschön geschmückt, der Tisch sauber, ordentlich und liebevoll dekoriert. Man hat sofort gemerkt, dass sich das Team um alles gekümmert hat. Wir hatten das Altländer Menü: Vorweg die Hochzeitssuppe – geschmacklich hervorragend und ohne Nachwürzen perfekt. Als Hauptgang gab es Schweinebraten und Rinderbraten. Der Rinderbraten war außergewöhnlich zart und butterweich, der Schweinebraten hatte eine köstliche, krosse Kruste, die trotzdem gut zu essen war. Dazu gab es reichlich Soßen – eine helle Champignonsoße und eine dunkle Soße –, außerdem Kroketten, Salzkartoffeln, Gemüse und Rotkohl. Alles war super lecker. Zum Nachtisch gab es Rote Grütze mit Vanillesoße und Sahne – ebenfalls sehr köstlich. Mein Schwiegervater hatte eine Hochzeitstorte gemacht und durfte sie bereits einen Tag vorher ins Kühlhaus bringen, was wir sehr zu schätzen wussten. Später gab es dann noch Kaffee und Kuchen; auch der Butterkuchen aus dem Haus war richtig lecker. Unsere eigene Hochzeitstorte durften wir ebenfalls vor Ort genießen – ein wirklich schöner Service. Insgesamt waren alle Gäste begeistert. Die Räumlichkeiten, das Essen, der Service – alles war einfach rundum gelungen. Wir sind schon seit 20 Jahren dabei. Immer lecker und gemütlich. Diesmal, im Oktober 2025 auch SUPER lecker. Atmosphäre, wie immer gemütlich und ruhig. Pesonal ist seht nett.

Das beste Restaurant in der Gegend. Wir kommen seit über 10 Jahren hierher und lieben das Essen, das Bier und das Ambiente. Der Service ist durchweg fantastisch!

Wir waren heute spontan zum ersten Mal hier und waren begeistert. Das Servicepersonal war sehr aufmerksam und super freundlich. Das Essen war einfach nur lecker! Alles war sauber und die Sanitäranlagen sind neu und sehr gepflegt. Wir können es mit gutem Gewissen nur weiterempfehlen und kommen sicherlich nochmal wieder. Weiter so ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hier sollte jeder etwas finden, wovon er oder sie satt werden. Leicht Rustikales erscheinungsbild;

Wir sind auf der Durchreise nach HH hier eingekehrt, da wir im Nachbarort unsere Zimmer gebucht hatten. Erster Eindruck: cool, rustikal und gemütlich. Man fühlt sich direkt wohl. Zweiter Eindruck: sehr aufmerksame und freundliche Mitarbeiter. Gleich beim Eintreten freundlich begrüßt und zu einem Tisch geleitet worden, auch die weitere Kommunikation, bestellen, Smalltalk, bezahlen war durch sehr angenehme Freundlichkeit geprägt. Klasse!! Dritter Eindruck: das Essen. Der Kartoffelauflauf mit Hähnchenfleisch war mega. Die Ofenkartoffel mit Lachs war ebenfalls klasse und genau wie gewünscht. Das Kartoffelbrot vorab rundete den guten Eindruck ab. Alles in allem ein sehr schöner Abend, der bestimmt eine Wiederholung findet, wenn wir mal wieder im Norden sind. Jederzeit gerne wieder !!!

Seit Jahren besuche ich das Papas und wurde noch nie enttäuscht! Neben allerlei aus der Kartoffel gibt es Deutsche Küche in sehr guter Qualität! Das Personal ist stets freundlich und jeder Besuch hat sich gelohnt!

Perfekt. Leckeres Essen, gute Auswahl, tolle Preis-Leistung, toller Service. Hier würden wir jederzeit wieder Essen gehen wenn es nur nicht so weit weg wäre.

The food was okay, but nothing more. Some of the meat was raw or overcooked. It lacked seasoning. The fried potatoes were okay, and the sweet potato fries were crispy. The starter soup was quite tasteless, but not necessarily unappealing. The service staff were friendly, but unfortunately, it sometimes took a while for drinks to arrive. I should add that we were a very large, but registered group, and drinks at least shouldn't be a problem for a place like this. The ambiance was rather plain. Clean restrooms and clean dining areas. But given the name, I probably just expected a different vibe. I think if you come here as a couple or with fewer people, it's quite tasty and a nice place to eat.

We celebrated our engagement with our parents there. The food and service were excellent, as always.

We ate here yesterday and can happily recommend Den Kartoffelkeller. The portions are generous; the only drawback was that the sauce for the grilled dish was more like mush, very tough, and the vegetables were unfortunately overcooked.

I think this restaurant is fantastic. It deserves 5 stars. Even though I personally don't like all the dishes on the menu, you can tell that everything is homemade and tastes wonderful. My favorites are the potato bread and the potato pizza.

We've been regulars at Kartoffelhaus for years. The food is delicious. The entire staff, including the manager and chef, are very friendly. We always feel at home here. 😀

Traditional German home cooking. Fair prices and generous portions. No one goes home hungry. The place is a bit dated. Sometimes the odd onion is overcooked. But overall, a good rating of 2. We eat here often. Unfortunately, after a visit to the restaurant, you smell like you've been in the kitchen yourself. The ventilation system could use an overhaul. Still recommended!

We had a last-minute visit, and even though all the tables were reserved, they kept four seats free for us at the high table. The food was delicious, as usual, and the day was saved. Thank you very much.

I was escorted to the place, but then I had to wait a while until I finally got a menu. From the seasonal menu I chose a "pizza with potatoes and asparagus" and expected a pizza made from pizza dough enlivened with potatoes and asparagus. However, I got a "pizza" made from potato dough topped with asparagus. Oh well. The waitress saw the error on my part; it would probably have been clear enough on the menu. Still, it was tasty and a large portion. To get the waitress (who was responsible for my table) to pay, encouraging eye contact was not enough. Luckily another waitress was more attentive.

Highly recommended restaurant with a focus on potato dishes. The food was excellent and really sufficient. In addition to well-known 'home-style' offerings, the menu offers a whole range of really original dishes that cannot be found on normal menus. The whole thing is accompanied by very friendly and attentive service, which makes you feel very comfortable in the potato house. The only thing that is a little annoying is the noise level, but all the tables were occupied when we visited. But that couldn't change our satisfaction with the food and service.

It's stupid if you go in with a lot of expectations, unfortunately not in potato heaven as hoped. The roast beef was okay, but the fried potatoes that came with it were horrible, completely covered in oil. My wife had the burger, the meat was very tough and had a strange taste, but the sweet potatoes were okay. The soup was a bit bland, but you could add more seasoning. Unfortunately the shop is very loud, which is not a good thing. But the service was great. Kind regards

Today we spontaneously went to Papa's potato house for the first time and were very excited! Our food was delicious and the service was really first class! We then made reservations for two more meals :-)

It's ok, nothing more. Relatively expensive and clear on the plate. Drinks quickly round off the pricing. Of course I didn't eat everything, but mine was like canteen food.

Unfortunately I didn't like the food. The vegetables were overcooked and lukewarm. The potato rostis wasn't fresh and didn't taste like anything. Defrosted and reheated. It used to be better and unfortunately I can no longer recommend the Kartoffrlhaus 😔.

Lunch menu with salad around 15€. Salad was great. Lunch menu was ok, but hardly seasoned: a piece of bass in breading, tomato sauce and boiled potatoes. Acceptable.

The food at papas is super delicious. So far everything has tasted very fresh. The salad is super crunchy and the dressing is delicious. The sweet potato fries are super good. Be sure to try the potato bread with lard first, it is served warm. 🤤 The service staff is super nice and very professional. The ambience is good and the location is very central.

After a long time we ate here again. I had potato pancakes, which were delicious (like my mother's), my husband had farmer's breakfast, also very tasty. The staff is very friendly. We will definitely come back.

Hello, my wife and I went out to eat there yesterday for our 42nd wedding anniversary. My wife had salmon with potato wedges and delicious vegetables and I had matjes with fried potatoes. Our food was very tasty and we felt very well looked after. The service was very friendly and responded to our wishes. Our conclusion, we can recommend this restaurant without reservation and look forward to repeating it.😉

Were there on Boxing Day. So far we have always been super happy with everything! The service was still good! However, the Christmas card was rather disappointing. Not a single “typical” Christmas dish. It was more of a very stripped down version of the usual menu. The children's food was thrown very carelessly on the plate. There is no other way to put it. Dry chicken schnitzel with fries. Without any decoration. A bit of parsley would have made the whole thing a little more pleasant. It was OK for the adults... However, you shouldn't drown a schnitzel in the sauce. It was crispy. Everyone should then decide for themselves. However, this is not necessarily a bad review. So far our experiences have always been great and the service is excellent! But maybe you should rethink the holidays and plan them differently

Went there for the second time for the Sunday family brunch as we really liked it the first time. This time we were again very satisfied, nice and helpful staff. However, this time there was a little surprise when paying, instead of €23.50 per person. As advertised on the homepage, we unexpectedly had a bill of €32.90 per person. When asked, it was explained that it was an Advent brunch. However, there is no information about the price on the homepage. You feel pretty ripped off! It's a shame that you treat your guests like that, they're served first......!!! #ADDENDUM They didn't explain anything to me on the phone because I didn't call them at all. That wasn't the point. When I buy something somewhere, I want to know what it costs and not be told a price afterwards that I can't find anywhere. The prices are now on the website, why not like that? Saves you a lot of trouble.

Simply a great offer, highly recommended for celebrations. The food was excellent and a great friendly staff. Everything was great, exactly what we wanted and we weren't disappointed.

Service is friendly and quick, drinks were delivered quickly. The meal took over an hour, which was also due to the Advent evening. In my opinion, the food tasted good but it was simply better before the change of ownership. Price performance was ok in my opinion.

Not good anymore! I was there a year ago and loved it. I drove 35 minutes and went there to eat and chat with a friend. The waitress disinterested, the food omg! No spices, not even salt. The potato wedges were frozen and still burnt! The fish, scary! At 20:40 we were asked if we wanted to drink something else and at 8:59 p.m. we had to pay! That was really bad! 75 euros shot into the wind! Never again!

We don't like going to Papa's anymore. Innovations are missing. Not much has changed with the new operator. Weakly seasoned dishes, service ignores empty glasses. The beer garden has a lot of potential that is not being used. In itself a great restaurant with lots of options. Of course everyone has to make up their own mind, it's all a matter of taste.

Service is really tried. Unfortunately the wrong dish was prepared. After I accepted the cheaper dish, the expensive one was later added to the bill.

On Friday the service was great too, so we decided to eat here again on Saturday. The food was great again, but the service was unbelievable. Orders took a very long time, the hardest thing was the dessert order, apple strudel with ice cream and vanilla sauce, which took 2.5 hours. The friend ordered it with the main course. When I was collecting the money, the young colleague said she must have screwed it up, it would be absurd to pass it on to a trainee. It's a shame that it turned out that way, but it also needs to be mentioned. The 4 star service is due to Friday.😊 We'll try again, everyone deserves a third chance 😊

Stopped in today after the hike. Service super nice. Delicious food from liver dumpling soup to casserole to potato puffy and hash browns 👍 Good to know that kale is available here during kale season. We'll be back in January at the latest

There was no food - I had a schnitzel with fries - everything from the deep fryer and tasted like it had just been thawed. I had different expectations from the reviews. 20ml mayo costs an extra 70c. Service was friendly.

You will be asked if you want to tip 5, 10 or 20 percent. I find that unpleasant and intrusive.

Absolutely tastiest potato soup ever :-) Potato pizza, pork medallions and potato pancakes are also recommended. We always feel very warmly served here, very comfortable and always leave the restaurant feeling full and happy.

After three visits to the potato house papas in Neu Wulmstorf, I can only give the best feedback! The staff and service were always very charming and friendly, we felt really welcome. The food tasted really, really great! There were good portion sizes at reasonable, moderate prices. Friendly, clean atmosphere with a sunny outdoor area, the restaurant is somewhat hidden. My companions and I were thrilled every time and I'm really looking forward to the next visit to the potato house!

Food and service have been great for years. Today the fried potatoes were unfortunately barely fried, no problem, at the end I let them know briefly and offered a coffee/schnapps and got a beer. So far, so good, I was allowed to pay the bill after all - an absolute no go, what a shame!

Restaurant: a little old-fashioned. Just like I knew it 20 years ago. Service actually very good. Until after a few days I noticed on the bill that they had deducted €2 for the burnt fried potatoes, but had billed the herring, which costs €17.99, as pollock for €19.90. And for me that is cheating! That's why only 2 *...and I had 3 dishes...a shame

Attentive, flexible but unobtrusive service, good home cooking, relatively fair prices. Recommendation!
