I was escorted to the place, but then I had to wait a while until I finally got a menu. From the seasonal menu I chose a "pizza with potatoes and asparagus" and expected a pizza made from pizza dough enlivened with potatoes and asparagus. However, I got a "pizza" made from potato dough topped with asparagus. Oh well. The waitress saw the error on my part; it would probably have been clear enough on the menu. Still, it was tasty and a large portion. To get the waitress (who was responsible for my table) to pay, encouraging eye contact was not enough. Luckily another waitress was more attentive.

Highly recommended restaurant with a focus on potato dishes. The food was excellent and really sufficient. In addition to well-known 'home-style' offerings, the menu offers a whole range of really original dishes that cannot be found on normal menus. The whole thing is accompanied by very friendly and attentive service, which makes you feel very comfortable in the potato house. The only thing that is a little annoying is the noise level, but all the tables were occupied when we visited. But that couldn't change our satisfaction with the food and service.

It's stupid if you go in with a lot of expectations, unfortunately not in potato heaven as hoped. The roast beef was okay, but the fried potatoes that came with it were horrible, completely covered in oil. My wife had the burger, the meat was very tough and had a strange taste, but the sweet potatoes were okay. The soup was a bit bland, but you could add more seasoning. Unfortunately the shop is very loud, which is not a good thing. But the service was great. Kind regards

Today we spontaneously went to Papa's potato house for the first time and were very excited! Our food was delicious and the service was really first class! We then made reservations for two more meals :-)

Probably the best fried potatoes with homemade sour meat that I have ever enjoyed.... ;) The staff is very accommodating, something you don't see that often anymore. We'd love to come back!

Unfortunately I didn't like the food. The vegetables were overcooked and lukewarm. The potato rostis wasn't fresh and didn't taste like anything. Defrosted and reheated. It used to be better and unfortunately I can no longer recommend the Kartoffrlhaus 😔.

The food at papas is super delicious. So far everything has tasted very fresh. The salad is super crunchy and the dressing is delicious. The sweet potato fries are super good. Be sure to try the potato bread with lard first, it is served warm. 🤤 The service staff is super nice and very professional. The ambience is good and the location is very central.

After a long time we ate here again. I had potato pancakes, which were delicious (like my mother's), my husband had farmer's breakfast, also very tasty. The staff is very friendly. We will definitely come back.

Hello, my wife and I went out to eat there yesterday for our 42nd wedding anniversary. My wife had salmon with potato wedges and delicious vegetables and I had matjes with fried potatoes. Our food was very tasty and we felt very well looked after. The service was very friendly and responded to our wishes. Our conclusion, we can recommend this restaurant without reservation and look forward to repeating it.😉

Were there on Boxing Day. So far we have always been super happy with everything! The service was still good! However, the Christmas card was rather disappointing. Not a single “typical” Christmas dish. It was more of a very stripped down version of the usual menu. The children's food was thrown very carelessly on the plate. There is no other way to put it. Dry chicken schnitzel with fries. Without any decoration. A bit of parsley would have made the whole thing a little more pleasant. It was OK for the adults... However, you shouldn't drown a schnitzel in the sauce. It was crispy. Everyone should then decide for themselves. However, this is not necessarily a bad review. So far our experiences have always been great and the service is excellent! But maybe you should rethink the holidays and plan them differently

Went there for the second time for the Sunday family brunch as we really liked it the first time. This time we were again very satisfied, nice and helpful staff. However, this time there was a little surprise when paying, instead of €23.50 per person. As advertised on the homepage, we unexpectedly had a bill of €32.90 per person. When asked, it was explained that it was an Advent brunch. However, there is no information about the price on the homepage. You feel pretty ripped off! It's a shame that you treat your guests like that, they're served first......!!! #ADDENDUM They didn't explain anything to me on the phone because I didn't call them at all. That wasn't the point. When I buy something somewhere, I want to know what it costs and not be told a price afterwards that I can't find anywhere. The prices are now on the website, why not like that? Saves you a lot of trouble.

Simply a great offer, highly recommended for celebrations. The food was excellent and a great friendly staff. Everything was great, exactly what we wanted and we weren't disappointed.

Service is friendly and quick, drinks were delivered quickly. The meal took over an hour, which was also due to the Advent evening. In my opinion, the food tasted good but it was simply better before the change of ownership. Price performance was ok in my opinion.

Not good anymore! I was there a year ago and loved it. I drove 35 minutes and went there to eat and chat with a friend. The waitress disinterested, the food omg! No spices, not even salt. The potato wedges were frozen and still burnt! The fish, scary! At 20:40 we were asked if we wanted to drink something else and at 8:59 p.m. we had to pay! That was really bad! 75 euros shot into the wind! Never again!

We don't like going to Papa's anymore. Innovations are missing. Not much has changed with the new operator. Weakly seasoned dishes, service ignores empty glasses. The beer garden has a lot of potential that is not being used. In itself a great restaurant with lots of options. Of course everyone has to make up their own mind, it's all a matter of taste.

On Friday the service was great too, so we decided to eat here again on Saturday. The food was great again, but the service was unbelievable. Orders took a very long time, the hardest thing was the dessert order, apple strudel with ice cream and vanilla sauce, which took 2.5 hours. The friend ordered it with the main course. When I was collecting the money, the young colleague said she must have screwed it up, it would be absurd to pass it on to a trainee. It's a shame that it turned out that way, but it also needs to be mentioned. The 4 star service is due to Friday.😊 We'll try again, everyone deserves a third chance 😊

Stopped in today after the hike. Service super nice. Delicious food from liver dumpling soup to casserole to potato puffy and hash browns 👍 Good to know that kale is available here during kale season. We'll be back in January at the latest

There was no food - I had a schnitzel with fries - everything from the deep fryer and tasted like it had just been thawed. I had different expectations from the reviews. 20ml mayo costs an extra 70c. Service was friendly.

After three visits to the potato house papas in Neu Wulmstorf, I can only give the best feedback! The staff and service were always very charming and friendly, we felt really welcome. The food tasted really, really great! There were good portion sizes at reasonable, moderate prices. Friendly, clean atmosphere with a sunny outdoor area, the restaurant is somewhat hidden. My companions and I were thrilled every time and I'm really looking forward to the next visit to the potato house!

Absolutely tastiest potato soup ever :-) Potato pizza, pork medallions and potato pancakes are also recommended. We always feel very warmly served here, very comfortable and always leave the restaurant feeling full and happy.

Restaurant: a little old-fashioned. Just like I knew it 20 years ago. Service actually very good. Until after a few days I noticed on the bill that they had deducted €2 for the burnt fried potatoes, but had billed the herring, which costs €17.99, as pollock for €19.90. And for me that is cheating! That's why only 2 *...and I had 3 dishes...a shame

We were there today with the family, the service was great, the ladies were attentive and very friendly. The big but is the food, the potato bread (which used to be really tasty, juicy and enjoyed) was dry, slightly warm and a cheap industrial product. The main courses were mixed. Fish and asparagus were good, the grill plate that I ordered several times was a well-intentioned 4 minus. The fried potatoes were lukewarm, full of fat and not crispy, the portion of meat for the price was a joke. At first we all thought there was something else coming, but no, to our surprise it was hidden under the lame cream sauce. The supposedly fresh vegetables came from the freezer and were absolutely tasteless. It's a shame that the quality has deteriorated so much.

We were there for dinner. Food delicious. Unfortunately, there is one point deducted: 1. It was a bit cold, 2. We sat in the back part, which was separated by a frosted glass wall, unfortunately not visible to the waitresses. We had to go to the counter to pay.

Were there for the buffet at the weekend. Surprisingly good. Good selection of warm dishes too. Drinks such as coffee, cocoa, tea and juice included in the price. Friendly staff included.

I was there for the first time by invitation and ordered smelt, which I enjoyed eating several times as a southern German in Bremen. The side dish of warm potato salad was good, but the smelts were subpar, something like that doesn't work.

Coming from the old country on the way through, had a good and inexpensive meal there in the evening. The service was friendly and pleasant.

We were invited to a family celebration here, not the first time either. The buffet was lavish, the vegetarians/vegans had some of their own dishes, including the really great soup as a starter. The service staff were very friendly, attentive and patient. The ambience isn't that great now, our room was a bit sparse somehow... Overall, definitely recommended, the team has clearly made an effort to do justice to all the special features.

Wir haben meinen 50.Geburtstag im separaten Raum gefeiert. Das bestellte Buffet (kalt und warm) war super. Auch der Service war hervorragend. Wir kommen immer gerne hierher.

Gemütlich, gute Qualität und freundliches Personal, was will man mehr?

Für mich persönlich eine Katastrophe. Ein bestellter Apfelsaft wurde mit Wasser gestreckt, da angeblich Schorle verstanden wurde. Von Kohlensäure war jedoch keine Spur. Als Vorspeise wählten wir (zwei Paare) das Kartoffelbrot, welches mit Sicherheit schon einige Tage alt war. Es war unfassbar zäh und teilweise steinhart. Der bestellte Auflauf, angeblich mit Feta, Gorgonzola und Gouda, war ein liebloses Aufeinanderstapeln von unfassbar groben Stücken Brokkoli und Tomaten, Spinat und ZwiebelSCHEIBEN. OHNE Sauce und lediglich mit Gouda überbacken. Alles in allem recht lieblos, nicht gewürzt und auf unsere Ehrlichkeit wurde mit Scham und Humor reagiert.

Mal wieder spontan im Kartoffelkeller gewesen. Ohne Reservierung einen Tisch bekommen und lecker Grünkohl gegessen. Eine reichhaltige Portion 😊

Das Essen war sehr gut es war alles so wie es gehört. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, wie es sich gehört ! Das Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich, nicht wie in einem Kartoffelkeller ! 😁

Ein Restaurant mit dem Wort Kartoffel im Namen muss probiert werden. Das Essen war sehr lecker und der Service schnell und freundlich. Das Restaurant sieht etwas altmodisch aus ist aber gepflegt. Es gibt eine kleine Spielecke für Kinder und es ist ein Wickeltisch vorhanden. Was für alle Eltern ein Pluspunkt sein sollte.

Die Karte ist übersichtlich und es ist schnell etwas leckeres zum Essen zu finden. Wir haben bisher immer unterschiedliche Bestellungen gehabt und alles war lecker. Das Essen kommt schnell und die Gastgeber sind nett und sorgen dafür, dass man sich wohlfühlt.

Wir hatten keine Reservierung und das am 1.Dezember... trotzdem es wirklich sehr voll war, haben ohne Wartezeit einen netten Tisch bekommen. Ein ausgesprochen total freundlicher, sehr aufmerksamer Service! Wir mussten auch auf das bestellte Essen nicht lange warten. Auch das wahr wirklich sehr lecker und eine gute Portion, von den Preisen her völlig in Ordnung. Weiter so 👍😊

Auf das Essen haben wir 45 Minuten gewartet. Bedingung sehr lieb und umsichtig.

Der Service war unterirdisch. Ich hatte ein Gericht bestellt, das hieß "Grünkohl mit zwei Würsten (kleine Portion)". Es kam dann Grünkohl mit 1 Würstchen. Als ich sagte, das sei aber irreführend auf der Karte formuliert, reagierte die Bedienung so: Wenn man die kleine Portion bestellen würde, sei jawohl klar dass man nur die Hälfte bekommen würde von der vollen Portion (gekostet hat es aber leider nicht nur die Hälfte, sondern nur ein paar Euro weniger). Die Bedienung hat dann das Gespräch einfach abgebrochen und ist abgehauen obwohl ich noch geredet habe. Am Ende hat sie sich den Kommentar nicht verkneifen können "ich hoffe es hat geschmeckt, auch wenn es nur eine Wurst war". So unfreundlich und respektlos wurde ich noch nie im Restaurant bedient. Der schlechte Service zog sich leider auch durch den gesamten Aufenthalt. Zunächst hat es über eine Stunde gedauert, bis wir überhaupt die Vorspeise erhalten haben- während Gäste, die nach uns kamen, schon vor uns ihr Essen erhielten. Ich hatte eine große Spezi bestellt. Es kam eine kleine, denn man kann hier nur eine kleine bestellen. Leider auch hier beim Bestellen kein Hinweis. Leider hat der schlechte Service nicht durch das wirklich leckere Essen wettgemacht werden können.

Wir hatten zweimal das Bauernfrühstück bestellt und gesagt bitte zweimal ohne ZWIEBELN!!!!!Was ist nach 1 Stunde angekommen? Zweimal Bauernfrühstück mit Zwiebeln!!!!! Mussten die ganzen Zwiebeln raussuchen!!!!!!! Die Bedienung war sehr nett und freundlich aber hat dennoch nichts erlassen!!!!Sorry aber sowas geht leider garnicht!!!!!
