We were there today for the first and last time The food was bad, it had hardly any taste We ordered starter for 2 people, it was little and expensive for nothing The main course was also small and really expensive 2 people one starter and one main course + 2 aperol spritz for €75 That's bullshit Really never again

Very nice restaurant, food was so excellent we came 2 days in a row, the service was great from our waiter Abu Jalil. And overall a great experience.

We were there spontaneously this lunchtime and were able to get a spot outside. The service was very friendly, things that were forgotten were brought straight away. Mango chicken (not spicy) and naan bread were delicious. I can also recommend the mint elderberry spritzer. We were happy, especially since it was pleasant in the shade despite the heat.

Das Essen war nichts besonders, für den Mittagsmenü viel zu teuer. Vorschpeise aus der normale Karte war, aberscheint in der Microwelle aufgewärmt. Das Bier war gerade so kalt. Die Bedienung meine meinung nach nicht ausreichend aufmerksam, aber das Essen war schnell da, dass eigentlich für das Mittagsessen normal ist , da es warscheinlich aus einem grossenTopf kommt, sonst die Portionen waren auch nicht gross.

With a friendly welcome and no reservation, the waiter assigned us a free seat. The food was served within a very short time, so quickly it couldn't have been freshly prepared. Visually everything looked good, my first impression was confirmed when I ate it, the meat and shrimp were dry, but the taste was okay. The price was ok, the service was friendly, all in all good.

Well, the ambience itself was ok. The drinks be happy and kuruma honey were good. Unfortunately the food was very Europeanized. You could tell that someone in the kitchen wasn't cooking with love. Not so great in terms of taste…We expected more for the prices. Unfortunately the toilets are between the staff cloakroom...Unfortunately there is no way to change a baby...The toilet seats should be replaced...When you close the lid everything is yellowed and wobbly...not clean...For the prices you pay, you could Renew this...Faszit: You don't have to go there again...It's a shame

I ordered, among other things, “Chicken Tikka Masalla”. Unfortunately the chicken was as tough as a shoe sole! I could barely cut it with the knife! Therefore only two stars. Lemonade is great for that. Friendly service! I'll try there again. If it were like that again, I'd stay away. Everyone deserves a second chance!🍒

Simply very good food in a nice atmosphere. Both outside and inside.

Wonderful, there was still a place for us two women. But women have to wait? After 90 minutes the food came, we were “forgotten”. We thought it was because it was full. When asked, the food came very spontaneously. Taste excellent, we love the spice of Indian dishes. Result: food excellent, service as a woman miserable. Two points because we got a table straight away.

The description for the starter for 2 says “let yourself be surprised”. Well, I was surprised. I was surprised at how dissappointing the whole experience was. From the service to the food, not a single positive thing to say. Starter for 2: 13.90. Per person. What was served to us after waiting for too long was an absolute joke. The food was dry/old (especially the chicken) and not even worth half of what we paid for. If you want proper indian food, go somewhere else. You will just be ripped off here.

Incredibly bad service... I called there 3 hours before to reserve a table for several people outside. When we get there they want to sit us inside. I explain to the man who welcomed us that I have made a reservation for outside. After consulting with his colleague, the first time he told me "No, inside" and after I became clearer, he came back the second time and explained to me "we changed it because of the weather" ... (at a good 26 degrees and sunshine) Since I couldn't quickly find another restaurant for 6 people on a Saturday evening, we decided to eat there. briefly summarized: It was stuffy in the store and way too warm The food took over 80 minutes and tasted OK Service was virtually non-existent I think when there's less going on or the outdoor area isn't open, it's much better there. For me it was the last visit to Karma, as I expect at least a little understanding of service and some decency for such prices

Ambience was very nice. The restaurant is particularly attractive outside. The food was okay, but in my opinion it wasn't really worth the price. Service was very bad. Unprofessionalism and lack of attention dampen the experience. That makes it not worth the price.

The food is excellent and the interior is nicely decorated and furnished in Indian style. The price-performance ratio is reasonable

Unfortunately, I have to say that when I ordered the vegan options, I wasn't convinced by the taste of the food served, as the food simply wasn't seasoned well and seemed carelessly prepared. My tofu was watery, the sauce was thin and only tasted like sugar. Service was OK, but could have been friendlier and more attentive. Of course, it's always nice to sit in this corner of the city, which is probably the restaurant's advantage: its good location. Overall verdict: I won't go there anymore. I cannot explicitly advise against it, but I cannot and do not want to make a recommendation; There are simply other restaurants in Konstanz that do it so much better.

The Karma Restaurant was directly opposite our hotel and we thought we would go there and eat something after a tiring day at the beach😀. But we had no idea that our expectations would be so exceeded in a positive sense... The daily special with salmon, the Tom Kha Gai (best I've ever tried!) and the Lamb Boti Kenab with lamb, vegetables and spices were outstanding and really tasty. However, the soup might be a bit too spicy for some people, so maybe let us know in advance 😀 The terrace is also very nice and the staff is very friendly. A reservation would probably be more appropriate, but there are many places available and everyone got a place even without a reservation. Definitely worth a visit near the city and the train station...full 5 stars

Such a terrible experience when I came here. The waiter really is such a racist idiot. When I came and sat down, he even ignored me and didn't give us the menu (but when other European guests come he quickly does that). Even when he gave me the food, he forcefully placed the plate of food on my table and quickly left. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I come and pay instead of begging for food, what an attitude!!! Dumamaythanglon

The two of us had dinner here yesterday. Unfortunately our expectations were not met. The vegetarian selection was boring in our opinion. For starters we had samosas, which were delicious. For the main course we had a curry and some street food. Both were OK, but nothing special. What really stood out negatively was the poor service. This resulted in unfriendly staff. Getting a smile from the waiters was an absolute rarity that evening. The mango lassi was delicious. All in all, just not quite what we had imagined.

Big disappointment! Restaurant looks good and the food looks good too, but it just doesn't taste like anything! It has nothing to do with Indian curry. All the spices were simply missing. It tasted so much like nothing that it was almost inedible! The service was also bad and we had to wait a really long time for everything.

Delicious food, most authentic Indian cuisine I've come across in Germany and Switzerland. Also the staff was very cooperative and amazing service.

Very tasty and beautiful restaurant! Everything was perfect. We came here 3 times in one week during a stay in Konstanz as a French woman. Everything was great here. Great job, keep going. And see you next night in Konstanz! :)

Butter chicken was inedible. About 30-40 minutes later I felt sick and had a stomach ache and an hour later vomiting and diarrhea.

Lots of vegetarian/vegan options and very tasty. The dessert was also good. The service was also very nice and attentive.

I can only recommend! Great food, good quality, ambience is harmonious. Prices are not cheap, but definitely worth the money!

Hospitable is different. Went there with family without a reservation at around 5 p.m. and asked for a table. Maybe 20% of the tables were occupied but the waiter had a hard time offering us a table. We would have gone further, but we still got a table for 60 minutes. That's how the service went. Hard to distinguish from a fast food restaurant. If I don't have time or tables, I won't accept guests anymore. But the waiter probably didn't want to miss out on the €80 in sales either. Unfortunately, we don't know this from our trusted Indian. The children's menu only came when the waiter noticed that a child also wanted to eat something. Food was, well, nothing special. Maybe even not justified for 15-20€ without proper side dishes such as rice or vegetables (extra). Drinks are definitely overpriced, even if they are right next to Switzerland. Thanks to the hospitality alone, we won't be coming back.

Unfortunately there is no butter chicken there, my favorite dish, which is why I eat Indian food. Instead I have Chicken Tikka Masala for €17.9, which according to the waiter should be similar to Butter Chicken. It was way too spicy and unfortunately we didn't like it. Therefore I wouldn't go there again.

First thing first, the staff is outright racist. If you’re not white, don’t even expect normal service! We told them we were a group of ten including 3 kids, they weren’t even ready to keep the tables together. We had to do it ourselves. The Turkish looking waiter was the least interested even in taking the order. If you’re into hospitality industry and cannot provide decent service, why do you even exist!! Then comes the food. The worst Indian food you can have on this planet! I know they don’t claim to be an authentic Indian restaurant but they were telling the incoming guests that they service Indian cuisine! I am an Indian living in Europe for more than 10 years and have been to so many places but this restaurant is that one place I would never ever go even if I am dying of hunger. Then comes the price. It’s so freaking expensive for the worst quality food. Some of the things we ordered were clearly stale. Paneer was so bad we couldn’t even eat! All in all, it’s just a tourist trap. Don’t go by the rating if you’re looking for some decent Indian food. I would strongly suggest to avoid this place at any cost!! Cheers, Anant

Well let me start with the least worst (if that’s even a thing) Food- stale, definitely not authentic not even close. I ordered Chana Chat and it was horrible to say the least. Holy paneer was a disaster. Paneer was ok but the chutney definitely stale, stinky. Staff- where do I even start. Let’s just say Racist? To be specific the one attending us was a big time racist and a very rude person(tall white man with somewhat curly hair). I would just say if you have an option to eat anything else please do choose that over this Karma restaurant. Specially if you are an Indian (Asian). Doesn’t matter if you are a tourist or a EU citizen(we were German speaking EU residents with brown skin). Guess the guy/staff just judges you with ur skin color.

Service - 1/5 The main waiter greeted us with a dry expression, as if he was serving a charity. We were a large group and the waiter refused to connect two free tables that were not reserved. The main waiter didn't bother to ask if we liked the food or if we wanted something else. We waited forever for the bill and almost got up. I don't think they would have even minded if we left without paying. The waiter could be polite and friendly. When I raised my hand to get his attention, he rudely looked away and left. Food - 1/5 Maybe it's Singaporean cuisine, but definitely not Indian cuisine. So don't go there if you want Indian food. Palak paneer had no taste, the texture was fine, the amount of rice was small and it wasn't even basmati rice (maybe parboiled packaged rice).

It is supposed to be an Indian restaurant and we clearly felt the racism against Indians going on this restaurant . The waiters took too long to attend us ,told us to accommodate ourselves wherever we want and find place as we were a big group and so had to move tables on our own and ended up dining separately. They took more than 45 mins to bring bland food to our table and around same time to bring the bill. I am not sure if it was because we were Indians and can probably judge their bland food better as the same waiter was more pleasant towards others. I would suggest to avoid this racist place.

Food could have more taste. Service sometimes slow. Sat about 15 minutes before our first order was taken. Otherwise everything is ok.

Very friendly staff, very good price performance

Food was wonderful. We knew that there was double seating, i.e. two eating times (6 p.m. - 8 p.m., 8:15 p.m. - end) We were there promptly at 6 p.m., the starter arrived after a 40-minute wait and wasn't cleared away until the main course. This only came at 7:20 p.m.!! At 8 p.m. the waiter stood at our table and asked if everything was ok, we had barely finished eating, we said everything was ok and he said, how do you want to pay? …. We actually wanted coffee & dessert, but then we missed it!! If double seating is practiced, restaurants should also bring the food early so that I can eat the three-course meal in peace. I would have expected an extension of time here. We don't come any more because it's been like this twice now.

When we arrived, we unfortunately had to wait a bit (10 minutes) - even though we had reserved. This isn't a big problem in itself, but the man at reception was unfriendly and didn't make you feel very welcome. When we arrived at our place, we had a very friendly and attentive waiter. The starters were very tasty and quite large. Great value for money! The main courses (Tandori Mix and Tikka Masala) were very tasty, but unfortunately also very spicy. However, this could also be because people in India simply eat a lot of spicy food. Still, it's a bit of a shame that the level of spiciness isn't stated on the menu. The atmosphere is very nice and all in all a really great experience.

We ordered the Indian fried rice with vegetables and tofu. According to the menu, an absolute specialty. I had the chicken curry masala. The curry was spicy but bland, not good and not bad. The fried rice on the other hand was really bad. The tofu wasn't actually prepared in any way, it was just added to it. There was an overcooked piece of broccoli in the entire portion. The waiter responded in a friendly manner, but the entire staff hardly spoke any German that evening. Instead of bringing some more vegetables, another whole portion comes - this time with a few more vegetables. You won't find anything sophisticated or well prepared. My wife had a sick feeling in her stomach several times during the night. She didn't like the food. It was a shame and unsatisfactory.

Habe das Meeresfrüchte Curry bestellt. Das war eine mit Mehl angedickte fast wie eine dicke Suppe, schwere Sauce. Nudeln viel zu weich gekocht, kaum Meeresfrüchte aus gezählten 4 Garnelen, Tofu und Gemüse statt Fisch. Undefinierbar! Der totale Pamps! Der Mangosalat , den ich für nochmal extra 10,90€ bestellt habe , war ok. Blöd war aber , dass ich die ganze Nacht furchtbare Bauchkrämpfe hatte. Früher fand ich es dort gut. Keiner weiß genau, aus welchem Asien diese Küche eigentlich kommt… Vielleicht eher aus Jugoslawien?!

Very very tasty. There were four of us here and of course we had reserved in advance. Seats were great and you have enough space to eat. The food we ordered came reasonably quickly and was really great. The price-performance ratio, whether for the food or the drinks, is also good. The only point deducted is the fact that no one informed us in advance that you are allowed to stay in the restaurant for a maximum of 2 hours per reservation. And so it wasn't until we wanted to order something again that we were informed of this and had to leave. If you know this in advance, it's definitely great here. And we will eat here again.

Today for the first time and unfortunately the last time I have to wait more than an hour until our main passage arrives. Service wasn't anything special either. Unfortunately I can't recommend it any further. I'm very disappointed.

Centrally located in Konstanz, guests can expect really delicious Singaporean food in a very pleasant atmosphere. Absolute recommendation! The kids had the following dishes: K1: Salad and naan bread. The peanut dressing is incredibly delicious and I haven't had that combination before. Absolutely delicious. K2 and K3: the classics Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Mango (mega-fruity! Super-tasty!). I had the Dragons BBQ Prawns in a wasabi honey marinade and grilled vegetables. That was out of this world! I haven't had something so extraordinarily delicious in a long time. My daughter had tried a spoonful and I had to defend my food pretty intensely afterwards! There were also sweet potato fries. Lovingly intended impulse: I would either substitute the sweet potato fries (e.g. fried rice with pak choy) or leave them out. Tasty: yes, but rather a foreign body in the overall package. Subtle complaint: you should work on the lemonades. Unfortunately they were very (!) thin. I had zero taste of lemongrass and no ginger came through either. As if you just used a few drops of syrup. You can certainly do better. What else I would like to add. The last time I was there was 11 years ago and the quality has remained consistently great! A little dig at the Swiss couple who ate at the table next to us. Unfortunately I have to mention it because I found it really disappointing. The service staff served you very charmingly, repeatedly and thoroughly throughout the evening (even though the shop was really full) and finally lovingly packed your leftover food into a doggy bag. If you then receive a bill for EUR 97 and without a word (!) put a green note on the table, then that is not generous and, above all, not appreciative!

Update 2023 9/28/23 We ate there with friends and the starter was good, there were two problems with the main course, one dish lacked salt for our taste and one sauce was totally over salted. But that wasn't the main problem, when the waiter came and asked how the food was, we said that we didn't like two dishes, instead of apologizing or taking the criticism neutrally, he started to discuss that it must taste like that was very unprofessional, perhaps the staff should be better trained on how to deal with criticism. I don't know if we will come back in the future, it's a real shame as we were always happy otherwise. 2021/2022 We've eaten there twice now, as well as once for take away and we were thrilled with it all three times, there's a large selection of food and it tastes very fresh, the price is okay, but justified because the ambience, service and taste are simply great ! See you next time. :)

Our experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. Even though we arrived just 4 minutes before the official opening time and the door was already open, we were treated in the most unfriendly manner. Despite the freezing temperatures of -6° and the fact that we had what looked like a small child in a stroller, we were not only turned away, but also complimented with a story that was obviously made up. This behavior is in stark contrast to what one would expect from a professional, serious and people-friendly restaurant. A little decency and humanity are not superfluous luxuries, but a basic requirement for every service profession. Unfortunately, this seems to be becoming increasingly scarce these days. I can therefore absolutely not recommend this restaurant. If you are unable to open in time or at least keep your door closed until you are ready, When it comes to entertaining guests, you may want to rethink your business practices. Such condescending and disrespectful behavior towards customers/people is completely unacceptable.

Update 2024 We have never eaten such bad padthai. Maybe that's why "padtha" is on the menu because it simply isn't one. For the life of me, I can't imagine that the chef has ever eaten this himself. Pasta soaked in fish sauce with peanuts, peppers 🫑 tomatoes 🍅 and 🥒 cucumbers ???!!! The lamb vindaloo was supposed to be very spicy 🌶️ which I can't quite confirm. We then ordered an “extra sheep” sauce and got sambal olek.😆 Overall tasty, but really little meat and more potatoes 🥔. I think the sparkling Konstanz tap water for €5.10 is a bit overpriced 😅The beer 🍺 selection could be a bit more exclusive. Fürstenberg isn't particularly good. Otherwise it's a nice restaurant

Very good Indian restaurant. The food tastes really good and the service is great too. The furnishings are stylish and make the visit a trip to the Orient. However, prices are above average.

Das Restaurant war sehr gut besucht und entsprechend laut. Die Tische sind eher klein und nahe beieinander. Die Karte bietet eine grosse Auswahl, ist aber nicht besonders übersichtlich. Der Empfang und der Service waren korrekt, ohne allzu freundlich zu sein. Das Essen war ganz okay, aber auch nichts Besonderes und schon gar kein Highlight. Zudem hat es recht lange auf sich warten lassen, was wohl am grossen Andrang gelegen haben könnte. Fazit: Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist knapp okay, aber der Service dürfte etwas aufmerksamer sein.

Waren spontan in Konstanz und hatten Lust mal wieder ins Karma essen zu gehen. Sehr netter Service und eine schöne nicht zu volle Karte. Ich hatte Lamm vom Grill und mein Partner Lucky Duck 😀. Beides sehr lecker und mit einer guten Schärfe. Leider das Foto vergessen. Sehr zu empfehlen. Im Sommer sitzt es sich auch wunderbar draußen.

Das Essen schmeckt gut. Doch die Preise sind sehr hoch! Ich bezahle gerne mehr für Qualität, aber nicht für Abzockerpreise. In meinem Teller waren wie abgezählt nur 4 Fleischstücke und das ist finde ich dreist.

Mega schönes Restaurant mitten in der altstadt von Konstanz. Das Essen ist einfach super und die Bedienung sehr schnell und aufmerksam. Der Hauseistee ist der Hammer. Kommen inmer gerne wieder.

Der Empfang war herzlich, auch wenn das Restaurant voll war, konnten wir auf etwas später einen schönen Tisch reservieren. Die Karte ist vielseitig, es gibt viele Gemüsemenues aber auch sehr feine Fleischgerichte mit wohlriechend, fernöstlich gewürzten Saucen. Das Ambiente ist modern- orientalisch gehalten und einladend, wohlig. Auch die Bar mixt tolle einfallsreiche Drinks. Das Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Mein erster Besuch im Karma ließ leider Wünsche offen. Erst einmal zum Positiven: stilvolle Einrichtung und bemühtes Servicepersonal. Auf der Speisekarte befinden sich unzählige Gerichte, meiner Meinung nach zu viele. Welcher Koch kann das mit Hingabe kochen ? Dementsprechend war mein Green Curry geschmacklich wohl eher aus der Dose und die Kombination mit Lachs eine Zumutung. Ich bin viel in Asien gereist, aber gebratenen Lachs und Green Curry habe ich nie irgendwo gesehen oder gegessen. Der Reis, den wir bekamen, war ebenfalls sehr fade und es war auch kein Löffel zum Nachschöpfen darin. Als ich den Kellner um einen Löffel bat, war er sichtlich irritiert. Insgesamt nur eine Bewertung im Mittelfeld.

Vor ca. 6 Monaten waren wir das Erstemal hier, und begeistert. Gestern hat meine Freundin etwas mit Schrimps bestellt und ich mit Ente. Bedauerlicherweise war meine Ente sehr trocken, und meine Freundin hat Magenkrämpfe bekommen. Irgend etwas, was auch immer, war in ihrem Essen. Ich habe das noch nie bei ihr erlebt. Wirklich Schade.

Hier stehen Leute Schlange, um reinzukommen!

Wir haben am Samstag um 20:15 Uhr einen Tisch reserviert. Als wir ankamen, war bereits eine riesen Schlange vor dem Karma. Ich habe den Inhaber gefragt, ob man anstehen muss, wenn man reserviert hat und er bejahte es. Um 20:50 Uhr haben sie uns an den Tisch begleitet. Um 21.30 Uhr kam das Essen. Unsere Laune war am Boden. Es war eine reinste Massenanfertigung. Sehr sehr schade!

Atmosphere and internal decor are very nice! However the dishes even if they look delicious, are not special. They are quite average depending the taste and overpriced. The restaurant could improve the dishes if you add more pieces of chicken or prawns when they charge a dish for €20. I would go again only if there wasn’t an alternative in the area around.
