Rarely have I been served in a restaurant as listlessly and as lazy as I did at this one. There was also a stained wine glass for my companion, as well as plates that didn't look quite as clean and had been brought to the table in advance for the meal. The food was ok, but of course simply overpriced in such a tourist place. (Some vegetables, soy sauce, boiled rice for 12/13 euros…) After dinner it wasn't cleared away for ages - and then not even completely. No questions asked every now and then whether it tasted good or whether it could be another drink etc. Requests for a bill were also ignored. It's not worth coming here to eat. I can't comment on the range and quality of the cocktails, which this Thai restaurant also operates as a cocktail bar.

Unfortunately, during our visit the staff was overwhelmed and not attentive. When we ate we were presented with the menus from Thai Food and Rheinzeit, which is next door. The cocktails could only be ordered from Rheinzeit and were on average €2 more expensive than on the Thai menu. We were sent in to pay digitally. Since we were sitting in the Thai beer garden, we went into the restaurant and waited in vain for the waiter. He came after a while and sent us to the Rhine period. We were billed there after a few minutes of waiting. Overall, unfortunately not a nice stay.

Unfortunately it's no longer the store it once was. Two restaurants were merged into one. Unfortunately, the Caribbean Bar fell by the wayside. Unfortunately it was my last visit there. I've always been there since 1989 when I was in the old town.

What happened to you, Cologne mafia or what????? Shop open, but only used as a storage room! I/we have been coming here for over 3 decades, initially just for the cocktails and for years also for the great, delicious food. Now pushy waiters and dirty menu from the neighboring shop (in front of it on the right) I'm really very sad about it, as this was my last and absolute favorite address almost every time I visited Cologne. Biiiiiiiiiiite is coming back!!!! Greetings Pelle.

ATTENTION: THE CARIBBEAN BAR IS CLOSED. We wanted to reserve a table there next week, but they didn't answer our calls, so I went there. The Caribbean bar looks like it used to, the same umbrellas, tables, ... but there are different menus on the table - the shop is now called “RheinZeit” and offers completely different food, etc.! It was one of my favorite addresses when several of us went to Cologne. I enjoyed the food and drinking the cocktails from salad bowls using long straws with several straws was my highlight. Unfortunately it no longer exists, and even the usual employees are no longer there.

Update May 2024: Previously 5/5 stars but unfortunately different owners. Absolute 0 star stuff unfortunately... Caribbean crew where are you? 😢 2019-May 2024: As always, we had a great evening with delicious cocktails, friendly service and delicious food! We always enjoy coming here!

Where have you gone? We travel to Cologne 2-3 times a year so we can relax with you. Your cocktails and food were always amazing! Today we learned the hard way that you no longer exist. Instead you are served rudely, the card is thrown on the table and that's it. Left again without ordering. Please let us know if you are somewhere else now 😢

We have been coming here for many years, unfortunately we discovered yesterday that the Caribbean Bar has apparently changed hands, a long era has now come to an end. When we asked the staff, we were told that neither the kitchen, drinks nor service had changed - unfortunately we cannot confirm this. Now about our visit yesterday (11 people): - Drinks came from a neighboring cooperating restaurant, cocktails were sometimes warm and/or mixed incorrectly - The staff was very inexperienced with the food and drinks offered by the restaurant, however staff was friendly - The food was obviously prepared in different kitchens as it was brought from different directions, when asked why that was the case they just smiled - Most of the food was cold (no more warming plates without explicit request), but the taste was okay. - When addressing the grievances towards the staff, it was always pointed out that they were new here and didn't know any better - When we left the location, although the staff knew very well how we had experienced the evening, we were kindly asked to leave a Google review - which is what happened. The price-performance ratio is unfortunately (has become) terribly bad.

Worst service, after the entry they took a lot of time to take order and when I asked for some suggestions with food. He was rude and told everything is bad. Please hire someone with manners!

I've been going to the Caribbean bar for a long time. But today I found out that the neighbor probably swallowed them. The chain now owns a few restaurants. Well, it's no longer my Caribbean bar. For me it was a mega tip for cocktails. That's it. Take care, nice memory.

The food was pretty good. On the other hand, the bottle of water for €9 really leaves a bitter taste when it comes out.

We waited forever for the menu, the tables were dirty and the food was cold! The staff was overwhelmed and unfriendly. It's a shame that the owner has changed.

The food was cold, the rice was no longer fresh and overall the dish was no longer as we knew it. Some ingredients that made up the dish in the past were missing. The authentic Thai owners were no longer there either. It seems as if the restaurant was sold and with it the Thai cuisine. I can advise everyone against it. Go to Krua Thai at the top of the Heumarkt. They have been delivering top quality at fair prices for years.

Service is like bad here, totally not recommend at all, if you don’t wanna ruin your mood. Waitress just didn’t know anything about polite or smile or service. Food is awful! And cash only, no card! Never come back again!

We weren't greeted, a piece of paper saying that we don't accept EC payments was carelessly "thrown" at us, the waitress looked as if she was saying "No, there are guests", meat and fish were ok to good, but we did directly saw and tasted that the dishes were straight out of the bag, which we often cook ourselves.

I had a delicious meal there, I often visit Thailand (6 times a year). So I really know what Thai food should taste like, I also like it spicy. I have now also tasted the cocktail "Scorpion", the smell alone is excellent. Very worthwhile. I'm passing through by car, so I've already eaten Thai twice in Belgium. Delicious food. Rarely have you eaten so well. Friendly reception. Service was not always attentive. The older men behind the bar were very friendly. The young gentleman made poor eye contact, but did 90% of the work. The young lady looked like an ice cream rabbit. But again: delicious food, worth repeating.

I have to say the service here is extremely poor! The waiter was very unfriendly. When I entered the store, the owner at the door didn't even look at me and talk to me.When I asked if I could order the lunch menu at 15: 30, the waiter just pointed to the menu without explanation and gave me a very bad look the whole time. When I pronounce the names of dishes in German “Händchen”, The waiter deliberately said the numbers in German“zweiundzwanzig”.When I also say numbers in German "fünfundzwanzig"，The officer said "forty-five " in English.I asked in English, "We have two dishes now, right?"The assistant understood English and asked me "was?" in German.In short, you speak German, he speaks English, you speak English, he speaks German and pretends not to understand, the whole face is very bad, feel targeted.

My first visit to the restaurant. The food was really, really good and the service was attentive but not intrusive. Prices are reasonable. Will definitely eat here again (and have a cocktail or two 😇)

Restaurant ist sehr altbacken. Die Bank an der wir gesessen haben, war total dreckig. Service war sehr gut. Die Vorspeise hat geschmeckt. Das Hauptgericht war schleckt. Dabei hatte ich nur gebratene Nudeln. Sie waren matschig, die Gemüse viel zu grob geschnitten. Ich habe es gegessen um nicht hungrig zu sein. Das war für mich nicht mal Imbiss Qualität. Die restlichen Speisen von der Gruppe waren auch nicht zu empfehlen. Cocktails waren mittelmäßig, einer komplett ungenießbar. Leider kann ich nicht mehr als 2 Sterne geben.

Schönes Ambiente und freundliche Bedienung. Dazu war das Essen sehr gut und lecker. Gerne wieder👌

Probably one of the few authentic Thai restaurants in Cologne. The good was good and the staff were friendly. Plus I really like the Thai music there.

Das Essen kam in separierten Tellern und Schüsseln, war gut temperiert und schmeckte. So wie ich es von einem ernst zu nehmenden Restaurant erwarte. Es ist also nicht der einfache Thai-Schnellimbiss. Das Ambiente war üblich für diese Ecke von Köln. Wir haben allerdings draußen gesessen, sodass das weniger ins Gewicht fällt.

Nach vielen Jahren war ich heute das erste mal wieder in der uralten Kölner Karibikbar. Die Cocktails waren sehr gut, das Personal freundlich. Gegessen habe ich nichts, da schon satt hier angekommen. Es sah an den Nachbartischen aber gut aus. Einziger Punktabzug: es ist halt sehr touristisch. Daher fehlt etwas die Herzlichkeit.

My friend and I visited this restaurant for first time. Our noodles were so tasty 😋 i would say they tasted so thai and yummy ever :) we really loved it and also staffs were so friendly ☺️☺️

We went in for dinner and really enjoyed the food. The beef in oyster sauce and the crispy duck in sweet and sour sauce were especially delicious ☺️

Bin dort seit über 20 Jahren Stammgast. Leider hat der Laden sowohl beim Essen als auch bei den Cocktails nach Corona erschreckend stark nachgelassen.

Nettes kleines Restaurant mit Thai-Küche und auch Steaks. Schöne Aussengastronomie mit tollem Blick auf den Rhein. Der Service war schnell und freundlich. Das Essen war lecker.

Wir sind die letzten 5 Jahre immer gerne gekommen und waren auch mal sehr begeistert. Leider waren unsere Besuche dieses Jahr sehr enttäuschend. Das Essen hat deutlich nachgelassen, was wohl auf einen neuen Koch deutet. Auch die Aufmerksamkeit des Personals hat nachgelassen. Als wir auf dem Weg nach Hause noch auf einen Cocktail Platz nehmen wollten wurden wir mit den Worten begrüßt das wir nur noch 30 min zur Verfügung haben. Noch nicht mal einen guten Abend. Für uns ein No Go und wir werden leider nicht wieder kommen. Schade....

Wir waren über 30 Jahre Stammgäste hier. Wir liebten das Essen, das Team, die Lage und das Preis/Leistung Verhältnis. Durch corona etc. war eine Preiserhöhung abzusehen und die wäre auch akzeptabel gewesen, wenn nicht die Qualität schlechter geworden wäre (früher war huhn, rind und schwein im gericht, jetzt nur noch geflügel) und die Portionen zusätzlich noch kleiner wurde. Als wir das beim Personal angesprochen haben, wurde nur gelächelt. Sehr schade!!!! Preis hoch, quali und Menge runter geht für uns garnicht....

Essen wahr sehr gut und das Personal war sehr freundlich, jedoch tropfte es im Innenbereich von der Decke weshalb ich nass wurde.

Leider absolut nicht zu empfehlen. Total unfreundlicher Service, bereits am Telefon zur Tischreservierung; vor Ort erst recht, bereits sehr unfreundliche Begrüßung. Hinter jedem Gericht auf der Karte weist ein Sternchen darauf hin, dass Glutamat und Zusatzstoffe / Geschmacksverstärker enthalten sind. Wer auf sowas steht, bitte, aber gute thailändische wie auch karabische Küche und vor allem gute Köche kommen ohne aus. Wir sind daraufhin direkt gegangen, Fertigfraß gibt es auch bei Maggi.

Ende 1990 waren wir sehr oft hier essen und es war immer sehr authentisch und sehr lecker. Heute waren wir seit so langer Zeit wieder da und es war leider enttäuschend. Das Essen ist für die grobe Mehrheit bestimmt gut aber hat für uns nichts mehr mit Thailand zu tun. Es war sehr neutral von den Gewürzen schon fast fade. Der Reis war sehr pappig, die knusprig gebratenen Ente war nicht knusprig und für den Preis auch zu wenig. Die Cocktails waren in Ordnung. Der Kellner war sehr freundlich aber das alleine bringt uns nicht dazu wieder zu kommen. Da genug Menschen wieder kommen macht es nichts aus das wir nicht dabei sind. Trotzdem Ihnen alles Gute.

Das Essen ist frisch und lecker 😋. Es gibt 1⃣ 🚽 Toilette die sauber ist. Der Eingang ist Behinderten gerecht und es gibt Sitzgelegenheiten. Einen Aussenbereich mit Blick auf den Rhein. Gruß aus dem Bergischen. Greet from germany near cologne. Immer wieder gerne.

Simple the best und das seit 50 Jahre

Geht gar nicht, lange Wartezeit, kaltes Essen nach einer Stunde. Reis kommt 10 Minuten später. Essen wird aufgewärmt, der Reis wird vergessen und ist wieder kalt. Totale Überforderung endet in Kastrophe. Gäste gehen ohne zu bezahlen

Sehr leckeres Essen. Vorsuppe geschmacklich sehr gut. Vorspeisen- Teller mit verschiedenen Köstlichkeiten auch lecker. Die thailändischen Gerichte wie auch das Steak mit Pommes und Salat sehr, sehr lecker. Das Personal sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert. Kommen gerne nochmal wieder.

Don’t go here. No quality and bad service. They push your appetisers and main meal together on the table and when ask not to do it they redo the same again.

Food was ok, nothing incredible but cocktails were out of this world! I especially recommend their thai house recipes, amazing flavors and well served.
