The food was really good. However, the service definitely needs improvement. The waitress was so rude, talking loudly in Vietnamese with her colleagues about tips after she finished preparing the bill for the next table. She wondered whether we were tipping or not while she was clearing the next table. She counted 4 for 5 euros and was dissatisfied with it. This made the atmosphere unpleasant. We won't be back and wouldn't recommend it to others.

Overall, the food was very tasty, and according to someone who knows the place, quite authentic. The service was very friendly. The sushi was generally delicious as well. A small disappointment: they used too many cooked fish dishes (I had cooked salmon in the Mini KanKoa Crunchy Roll and cooked tuna in the Tekka Maki, without it being indicated on the menu).

This place has a versatile menu and one of the quickest service I have experienced! They have a great variety of different Asian dishes and what I tried was delicious! I ordered the duck wrap and it was really nice appetiser. What surprised me was the chicken ramen which was delicious and can with a generous portion of chicken breast. The broth was quite tasty and well seasoned. Also kitchen is open till 22:30

Nice restaurant unfortunately right on the street but still cozy

KanKoa is a solid sushi spot in Berlin. Table confirmation was very quick. Unlike many Berlin restaurants, you can see they actually tried with the design. The plastic flowers aren't great but still better than what you see at most places in the city. Sushi and appetizers came out lightning fast. Pricing is fair for Berlin - you definitely get more than what you pay for. Only disappointment was the restrooms - they really need renovation and cleaning up. Payment was quick but card minimum is 20 euros. Otherwise, definitely worth coming back for the sushi.

The food was very good, but the ordering process was very inflexible. We had three starters, each with three portions, but there were four people. It wasn't possible to increase the order to four. After our first order, we wanted to order more drinks, but the service was nonexistent. We waited forever for the bill, and they probably accidentally charged us an extra €10 on the card terminal.

A very cozy and pleasant restaurant, with truly delicious food and very attentive staff. I went there with my husband and friends, and each of us was very pleased with what we ordered. I ordered a duck breast soup with lichi lich to drink, and moji ice cream with matcha and mango for dessert. Everything was not only delicious, but also beautifully presented and decorated. The prices are completely reasonable, and the surroundings are also pleasant, so all in all, I can definitely recommend the place!

The food was mostly delicious, but nothing exceptional that blew us away. We had the udon soup with tofu, a sushi roll, and a rice dish with duck and BBQ sauce. The tofu was slightly sour, which shouldn't be. Of all three dishes, the sushi roll was the tastiest, and we recommend it :) The dessert with mango and sticky rice wasn't our cup of tea either (very sweet and salty at the same time?). The drinks were good, especially the Yuzu Ginger Ale lemonade! The Aloe Vera lemonade, on the other hand, is not recommended; it tasted almost like water. The service was very friendly and attentive, the location is amazing, we really liked it.

Another good value for money option around Museum Insel

I've decided to write something about this restaurant. To be honest, I've rarely eaten such bad Southeast Asian cuisine. I love eating out – especially Vietnamese, Japanese, or Korean – and therefore know many good Asian restaurants in Berlin. My companion and I ordered the beef BBQ. According to the menu, the dish consists of "freshly tossed vegetables in BBQ sauce, cilantro, spring onions, jasmine rice, and..." – supplemented with one of the optional ingredients, such as beef. The beef also states "with sweet potato." This makes it clear to me: The jasmine rice is part of the base of the dish, and the sweet potato fries are an additional addition. However, we were served only meat with sweet potato fries – no rice. When we pointed this out, the waitress rather laughed at our comment. They said that "no one" had ever understood it the way we did. They said we should have explicitly requested rice when ordering. However, a good restaurant should clearly communicate when an essential ingredient is missing from a dish – and ideally offer alternatives. I found it disappointing that they showed no insight or willingness to accommodate. Even ChatGPT, to whom I sent a picture of the menu, automatically assumed that rice was included when estimating the calories – that's how unambiguous the wording is. Most serious, however, was that the beef tasted slightly undercooked – I'm convinced they shouldn't have served it a day or two later. That's a real no-no. Given this experience, it would have at least been a small gesture to offer the Vietnamese coffee on the house – instead, they charged the full price. Overall, the prices are disproportionate to the quality of the food. The restrooms were also unkempt and uninviting – which unfortunately rounds off the overall disappointing experience. I will definitely not be going there again; there are better options nearby. What a shame.

Top-notch food in both quality and quantity! Everything is freshly prepared, beautifully presented, and generous portions. The interior is very authentic and atmospheric. The staff is friendly. Excellent value for money. We'd be back!

The interior and atmosphere are very nice. As for the service, they didn’t make us wait at all. My friend and I ordered ramen, it was very delicious. The toilet is clean, though not perfectly clean, and the staff was very friendly.

Passed by and decided to drop in for a quick dinner. The salmon sushi (I can't quite remember the full name of the dish) wasn’t bad. Maybe because it was deep-fried, the fresh salmon flavor didn’t really come through?

Okay dinner on a Friday night, but probably not somewhere we would return. The ambience of the restaurant was somewhat ruined by the staff who were chattering amongst themselves and laughing loudly non-stop, overpowering the lovely traditional background music and making it hard for customers to hear each other. As for the food, it was hit and miss. Small plates better than main dishes. We really enjoyed the salmon tataki, the hotate scallops and the sake sashimi. These little seafood plates were full of flavour and made of fresh ingredients. Of the mains, the spicy coconut chicken was decent whilst the barbecue beef dish somewhat disappointed. Dry chewy beef and flat tasting sauce.

My girlfriend and I are tourists in Berlin and were craving some delicious udon. We found what we were looking for here at Kan'Koa. Our first impressions: The ambiance is very nice, the staff very friendly and attentive. The food: Since we were traveling for a long time and had skipped lunch and breakfast, we made a larger order with various appetizers and, of course, the udon. The portions are generous, and everything was really delicious, from the yakitori to the udon. If we're back in Berlin, we'd come back.

The taste isn't bad, but unfortunately the portions of the main course—rice with fish—are very small for the price of €12. The sushi rolls are a normal size and taste good.

We saw this very nice place by chance while walking in the Jewish quarter. Super place for value for money, environment and service. We tried Sushi and sushimi of various types. Lastly we tasted Ramen (Japanese spaghetti) immersed in a soup full of tasty vegetables. On the side they served us crispy duck that you could also dip (alternatively you can choose pork or chicken). I would definitely go back there very willingly

We took the sushi platter for 4 people for almost €100. Considering it was so expensive, there was very little sushi on the plate. You definitely didn't get full and for the price I would definitely have expected that. It was beautifully presented, but we will definitely not be coming back!!!

You are walking through the center of Berlin and leave Alexanderplatz behind you. You see some lanterns to your right and you wonder if this place is worth visiting. What a good decision we made in choosing to try this place. The restaurant offers different Asian cuisines, from Thai and Japanese to Vietnamese. The truth is that the dishes are very delicious. The sushi is great and they have a good variety of beers, both German and Asian. The curry is especially delicious, highly recommended. In addition, it should be taken into account that they offer daily dishes at a somewhat lower price, with very interesting menu combinations.

When you place your order you will be asked whether you want to pay in cash or by card. A fool who thinks evil...

Great sushi in the Jewish quarter of Berlin!! We went on a Saturday night for dinner, without a reservation and quite late, and they took us right away. The service was super fast and they were very friendly. We weren't very hungry, there were two of us and we ordered the KanKoa Set and some gyozas. Everything delicious. We liked it a lot. I would repeat without a doubt.

The ambience is great. The staff is super friendly. If you ask, you can also charge your smartphone. The drinks and food were good.

First, they placed us into a tiny space, and when we asked for another table, they said it was booked. But of course, 21:45 and it was still empty. The waitress wasn’t friendly at all. The chicken starter? Tasted like frozen store-bought stuff. But the real disaster? The mango sticky rice. Four tiny squares of rice, a bit of mango, and some weird sauce underneath. No flavor, no portion, no satisfaction, just pure disappointment. Definitely not coming back.

The food was not so good...specially the ramen + really long waiting to receive the food in the table. Ah, asking for the tip is never nice because you make feel the customers obliged to give it. Don't do it guys, specially when you realise that the customer didn't finished the food and the service was "MEH".

Was there for lunch. Miso soup was too salty for my taste. The sauce for the gyozas wasn't what I expected and was way too sweet. The fried crispy sushis were covered with too much mayonnaise sauce. I don't understand why wasabi & soy sauce was served with it. All in all, OK for the low price, but I also paid €5 more for cleaner products. But maybe others like it that way. Service was super friendly!

The restaurant is run by a Chinese team, with a chic atmosphere but impersonal service. It was difficult to communicate and get information. My ramen with minced meat was too spicy. My friend had rice with coconut curry sauce and chicken—the vegetables weren’t really fresh (frozen), but overall she liked the dish. We also had sushi as a starter, which was good. Be aware that they don’t accept card payments for purchases under €20. As always, it’s important for everyone to make their own experience!
