Unfortunately we didn't like it at all. Bland and unseasoned. Then found another hair and let it go back. I then no longer had to pay the court. But unfortunately it's no longer worth another visit.

The food is delicious as always

The restaurant itself is ok but unfortunately not anymore. The interior is a bit worn and the very bright lighting doesn't create a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, the grilled pork belly is no longer as good as it once was. The rind was not crispy but rather soft. Since the fat had barely melted during the cooking process, you can see that the cooking time was rather too short. It's a shame at this price. The vegetables used in the remaining main courses consisted of 90% peppers and the rest was onions/scallions. If you like eating peppers, this is the right place for you. The main course of chicken in black bean sauce was good but not amazing. The service was nice enough. Overall, you can go there once, but there are other restaurants that offer more authentic cuisine.

Original! Chinese cuisine - you won't find better food in Shanghai, Beijing or Hong Kong. Never another Chinese restaurant - traditional food again 🥰🔥🔥🔥

The taste of the thousand year egg was incredible. The beef and shrimps were cooked to perfection. The service and atmosphere had us smiling from the moment we entered. Definitely recommend this place to anyone that wishes an authentic Cantonese experience outside of China.

The food tasted good and the portions were large enough. Unfortunately, we were surprised at the end when we got the bill. We had ordered rice once, but rice was listed three times on the bill. The background is: if you order rice, you pay for as many portions of rice as you ordered main courses (for us it was three main courses). The main dishes usually include rice. If you reorder this, you pay more depending on the number of main dishes.

Since the change of operator in the neighboring Aroma, Good Friends is now clearly the best Chinese restaurant on Kantstr. if not in all of Berlin. Real Cantonese cuisine of the best quality. The lunch menu is particularly good, where you can choose from 20 main dishes plus soup.

I think I ordered the wrong food. The store was completely full. I ordered the duck with bones. Half the duck was full of bones. There was also no sauce and no vegetables, just a few lettuce leaves. It's a shame because I've only heard good things about the charger. But the service was great!

Been there twice now just for friends. Service quite OK. But cheap quality meat. Squid is almost inedible because it is too dry and hard fried. Overpriced prices. So it's not authentic Chinese food overall as the quality just isn't right. Been to China and HK recently so I can compare.

It was not as good as before anymore (I came around once or twice a year). It’s more expensive to a level that’s overpriced. Jelly fish with century eggs as an appetizer with a normal portion costs 20 euros. Everything else is around this price too. The worst is the food tastes like they used a significant amount of MSG. I was super thirsty after my meal here. The fish dish I ordered was ok, and it’s normal for restaurant to charge around 20 (it was 23) for a fish dish.

Great and well-known Chinese. Something old school. The service is nice, professional but also very confident. It is quite loud and a bit stuffy in the evening. But a visit is certainly not a bad decision...if you are a meat eater. Vegan dishes are underrepresented in the very large selection

The pork belly was quite good, unfortunately the duck consisted of 70% bones and tasted relatively neutral. Overall just very average, although the prices were all very above average. So we were a little disappointed. We couldn't understand the hype. Service was good.

The restaurant is one of the best places in Berlin to eat authentic Chinese (Cantonese) food. It's most of the time very busy and the service is sometimes impatient but the food is very good. Go with a big group so it is easier to try more dishes! update 2024: food and service is still very good

Very friendly staff and the food is also very tasty. There is a lunch menu with menus between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. with a good price-performance ratio. We always like to come.

I found this place via the recommendation of BerlinFoodStories and had high hopes. Unfortunately, we didn’t enjoy the food or the service. The waiter who took our order, was rolling his eyes when I was asking him for the recommendations. The manu is really large, so just wanted his suggestions based on what I told him we liked. Overall, the food was at least eatable and I liked that veggies weren’t overcooked. The food just lacked flavor and it was served on plastic plates. It all looked cheap and old. I wouldn’t come back there.

The service attitude is so bad! The weather was so hot and the sun was strong. We wanted to sit indoors by the window but were refused. We could only sit near the counter or outside. The best chinese resteraunt that I've found in Berlin. Amazing selection of food. My recommendation is the garlic pak choi it was delicious!

I don't like complaining and I usually overlook minor flaws in restaurants. But in this case, unfortunately, I cannot remain silent. A few days ago my friends and I chose the Good Friends restaurant and I arrived earlier than everyone else. The weather was a bit windy, but there was no rain. According to the weather forecast, there was no rain in sight. There were many tables outside, some were occupied and people were already eating there. A waiter approached me with a serious and sad face. I asked for a table outside. He said that I could only sit inside as it would rain soon. I told him there would be no rain because the forecast said no rain. Besides, if you look at the sky, these are not the clouds that could bring rain. They are quite mobile. Then another girl came who seemed pretty strict. Her face was probably marked by all the tragedy in the world. She came up to me and stood sideways to me so that I was facing her but she was facing me with her right side mirror. She looked at me. I said I wanted to sit outside. We are four people, all smokers. We want to sit outside in the fresh air. She said that we can only sit inside because it will rain soon. I told her there won't be any rain, showed her the weather on my phone and said there won't be any rain at all any time soon, just some wind. Especially since people are already sitting outside and eating. We wanted to sit outside. She pointedly turned around and simply walked away without saying anything. I then stood outside for another 15 minutes and waited for us to be seated. Eventually I understood that this demonstrative walk away was a kind of loss of face for the customer. When my friends arrived, we decided not to visit this restaurant and went to the neighboring restaurant Pho, a Vietnamese restaurant that I had already been to once. It was a great place where we had an excellent time sitting outside. It didn't rain, the weather was nice. The staff smiled and we ended up having a wonderful day. I would recommend Good Friends Restaurant to hold a meeting and conduct customer service training. At least they should learn to deal with customers appropriately.

It may be that the food tastes good here because the place was particularly recommended to me. But the combination of extremely unfriendly service (even by Berlin standards) and high prices didn't seem very inviting. And since no one came to take our order, we just left without eating

Good Chinese food for many people as very little spices or flavor.Many Germany people like this cusine. I ordered the Kung Pow Chicken, bland, very little flavor. Nice place, nice people but no where near authentic Chinese food. My friends also commented about no flavor. They do good business .

It is the best Chinese in Berlin, only here you can get a delicious jellyfish, the stuffed halibut with black bean sauce is unbeatable, a must as a side dish is "fried tofu with pepper and salt", the dim sum is weak, but the vegetables of the day are always delicious. THIS IS HOW CHINA COOKS, this is a Northern Chinese cuisine.

Went to Berlin recently, and decided to try out Berlin's Chinese food. This place (and a few others along Kant strasse) seems to be recommended. As my group only consists of 2 person in total, we could not order too many dishes. We ordered 2 dishes from the whiteboard , the claypot beef brisket and claypot tofu. Both turned out to be excellent dishes, from our point of taste as Malaysian. Also, we did not feel thirsty after dinner, another plus point. We went there at around the same time a Singaporean tour group was there for dinner, but the dishes were served in no time, which was great. The service was also excellent beyond words. The guy (the boss himself ?) who served us was quite friendly and attentive to details. The others were just as alert. A far cry from the usual Cantonese cuisine restaurants we have come to expect(excellent food but worker/boss attitude problems)

As of May 2024: As always, delicious food. Nothing has changed there. But prices have risen quite sharply. This is more than just the VAT increase. On the one hand you can understand it but on the other hand it also scares customers away. One of many restaurants on Kantstrasse. Rather inconspicuous from the outside. A menu with typically Asian dishes. And one with specialties from the Canton region. I hope it's correct. The portions are huge. Tastes very good. The price-performance ratio is mediocre. But ok for Berlin conditions. A lot of Asian customers in an Asian restaurant is a sign that it is good. We will definitely go there again. Card payment is possible.

Ate here twice in one week and the food is gorgeous. Had dumplings, chicken and sweetcorn soup and sweet and sour chicken and beef in black bean sauce. Angie the lady server was so friendly and attentive. Lovely tables outside with blankets if you get chilly. If your looking for great Chinese food in Berlin you wont go wrong her.

Worst experience ever in Kant Street. I think they just gave us what was left in kitchen. Never ever again

Last Saturday at 10 p.m. we ordered takeaway from the Good Friends restaurant in Berlin Charlottenburg. On the one hand, fried duck meat Hong Kong style with Chinese cabbage and on the other hand, fried tofu with pepper and salt (spicy). After eating the food, our 2 year old child became very ill and developed a high fever. He had to be taken to hospital as an emergency. Here, adenovaria were found in a throat swab and salmonella in a stool swab. This is absolutely unacceptable and indicates a lack of hygiene. We will contact the health department and reserve the right to take legal action.

Was there recently, this time it was supposed to be a noodle soup, unfortunately the quality suffered a little, vegetables were completely mushy and overcooked - a shame.

This is one of the most authentic Chinese restaurants in Berlin so far. The service does a great job. We received our food within a few minutes. The atmosphere is very pleasant. However, I recommend sitting on the right side of the window seats as you have more privacy there. The dishes were delicious - starting with the Peking duck with pancakes, the mixed dim sum plate and the fried noodles with vegetables. We will definitely come back!

26.80 euros for a main course with a very small wonton soup - to take away! Soy sauce and sambai olek only on request. You have to be able to afford the store.

The staff was great, but the food was disappointing. There is a huge menu with too much choice, and the taste left a lot to be desired.

The price and quality of the food don't match. Pig was absolutely inferior. The sweet and sour sauce was/is just as bad as Uncle Ben's. Wouldn't eat there again. Service was okay, location is good.

The food was amazing! I found it on TikTok when a girl was praising it’s crispy pork belly. Since we were craving it so much, we made a reservation straight away. The food is so delicious! We ordered a set of different dim sums, Peking duck and crispy pork belly. Everything was stimming’s and the service was outstandingly good. Love it!

sad atmosphere with rude server who yelled at us forcing to give him tips based on american standards for a very slow unfriendly service. 15-20 Minutes wait before getting our menu and another 20-30 Minutes before getting our bill?! Edit: I just realized that my previous review got deleted :P Well if you don't want to get bad reviews, pls educate and select your server better.

Our visit to Good Friends Restaurant was overall pleasant. The dim sum and rice batter with beef and Chinese vegetables were particularly tasty, while the wontons needed a bit of improvement and were small for the price. The service was friendly and efficient, and the drink selection was satisfactory. The atmosphere was pleasant, but the ambience could use a little more care. For the most part it was good value for money, and the short wait for a table without a reservation was definitely a plus. Overall, a solid experience with room for improvement. If I could, I would give 3.5 stars.

This somewhat overcrowded Chinese restaurant, which has existed since forever, is located on Kantstrasse, which is known for Asian gastronomy. The interior design is a bit old and sometimes looks kitschy and not coordinated with the interior. The service is friendly and willing to help with questions despite the large number of guests. The menu contains a large selection. In addition to a lunch menu and the normal menu, there is a diverse, varied typical Cantonese selection on several pages. All main courses are very well prepared, with fresh ingredients and tasted good. What I particularly liked were the different tastes of the dishes. In many other Asian restaurants everything tastes like soy sauce and is always just salty. The meat quality in particular is above most other Chinese restaurants. We couldn't say the same for the starters. Ready-made products come here, which are basically not bad, but the price and taste are not appropriate for this restaurant. The prices of the main courses are a bit more expensive but justified given the quality. I can't say the same for the starters. Four spoon-sized wontons for €9.00 is disproportionately expensive and even borders on usury. Conclusion: I would recommend it mainly because of the good main courses. A reservation is recommended, but if you can't get a space here, you can quickly find an alternative on Kantstrasse.

The food was great. We had sweet and sour fish, pork belly and the dim sum. It was all very tasty and served quickly and friendly. My girlfriend had a tofu dish which really wasn't recommended. The tofu was oily and unfortunately underseasoned. But everything else was really great.

The menu is huge and too many options to choose from. It does not mention if the dish has some sauce to eat with rice or just some fried meat. We ordered ribs with rice which came dry and had to order another chicken again , the waiters are poor in suggestion as the one serving us suggested this fried pork with rice for the main course. The dimsum was okayish. The prices look higher , the portions are generous as well.

I usually prefer Aroma Restaurant. But today my girlfriend wanted to go to Good Friends, which I haven't visited for probably 10 years. As always, it was very well attended. We chose sweet and sour ribs and squid with pickled vegetables. The food was served within a very short time and smelled really good. Unfortunately, the squid was unseasoned, so it only tasted good in combination with the sauce and pickled vegetables. The ribs were very dry and tough. When we told the waitress we wanted to pay, she nodded, but she didn't come back, even though we made frequent eye contact. We finally went to the counter and paid there. For me it was the last time I will enter this restaurant. There are so many better restaurants in Berlin.

If you love real Chinese food, it’s definitely a good place to eat. Most of visitors were Chinese, all others seem to be here not for a first time. The food was great.

We have been going to Good Friends for years, with and without children - we all like it. ♥️ Rice dough dishes and fried tofu with salt and pepper are always on the table. In winter we often have deliveries delivered, which works very well despite the distance: punctual, friendly and the food is still very fresh and warm.

At 13€ + 3€ bike fees I don't ask for a trough but you should be full or did I get lost in the children's section? The thousand-year-old eggs with crabs tasted good. The Peking duck with uncooked dough flatbreads and a sauce that only tastes sweet was not a hit at all. Just like the few pieces of chicken with vegetables in a clear sauce. There is little love in the dishes, which is clearly missing from the plate. Obviously a Turi local. The Turilokal is hopelessly overpriced for the food it offers. What you need to know if this is important: Glutamate is omnipresent. According to the menu, the dishes can also be ordered without this additive. Secure?

Also es gibt nicht viel zu sagen. Chinesisch eben. Geschmacklos, aber auch nicht schlecht. Durchaus essbar, aber eben auch nicht mehr. Lieblose Einrichtung mit grauenhaften Ambiente.
