Kaizen in Köln

One of my absolute favorite sushi restaurants in Cologne. There are always new, creative sushi roll creations that impress in terms of taste and appearance.

A lot of money for little food and little taste.

This is a very delicious Japanese restaurant. In particular, the quality of the sashimi was much better than the poor quality Japanese chain restaurants, and I was surprised at the level of sushi served at Japanese sushi restaurants. The customer base is good, and I don't think there will be any fuss. The price is a little high, but I think it's good for special occasions or dates. Parking is subject to availability, so take your time to find an available spot.

I absolutely loved my visit to kaizen, a Japanese restaurant in Cologne, and can highly recommend it! The location is fantastic – modern, stylish and incredibly comfortable at the same time. It almost feels like you are entering a small oasis in the middle of the city. The atmosphere immediately invites you to feel good, perfect for a relaxed evening with friends or family. As far as service is concerned, the waitresses were extremely friendly and attentive. You feel welcome from the first second. I thought it was particularly cool that you can order here using an iPad. This makes the whole thing not only modern, but also really practical. You have all the food and drinks clearly arranged in front of you and can choose in peace without feeling stressed. Plus, everything goes really quickly and smoothly – great! And now to the most important point: the food! One word: awesome! The dishes are not only beautifully prepared, but also an absolute highlight in terms of taste. Every single ingredient is fresh and high quality, and you can taste the attention to detail in every bite. I particularly liked the sushi variations and warm dishes. Simply fantastic! So if you're looking for a great Japanese restaurant in Cologne, you should definitely try it out. I'll definitely be back!

This is sushi art. We are sushi lovers and this was the best sushi we have ever eaten. Great special and tempura rolls. Insanely tender and deliciously tasty sushi creations. With the warm tempura rolls, the fish was still raw inside, as it should be, but very few sushi restaurants manage to do that. We even had goosebumps while eating on our first visit because we were so blown away. The concept of the store was also great, from the easy ordering with a tablet, which was accompanied by very nice service, to the authentic and cozy atmosphere in the restaurant, it was a perfect event.

Today we ate here for the first time with 6 people and we were very impressed. The quality of the food was great, the staff was very friendly and you didn't have to wait long for the food. We will definitely come back, a clear recommendation!

Were there for the first time. The super lovely service welcomed us. The sushi menu was a little smaller than usual but very good. There were lots of different things, so there was something for everyone. As for the sushi, it was very delicious and the tastiest sushi we have eaten so far. Very fresh and "airy". The only negative thing is the waiting time, which you can deal with.

We first tried the shrimp tempura as a starter and it was very good - but for that price I think I would rather order more sushi next time. I ordered the nigiri variation and was very satisfied, really in a class of its own. My companion ordered a variety of sake and was also very satisfied. We would definitely come here again on our next visit to Cologne.

Great Swaahi restaurant. Rather inconspicuous from the outside. A very pleasant atmosphere inside. You place your order using a tray. The service overall is very fast. I had different sushi variations, especially the rolls were great! There is Japanese beer :)

Frühzeitig hatten wir einen vier Personen Tisch für die Familie reserviert und wurden an einen schönen Tisch direkt am Fenster geleitet. Das Restaurant war sehr gut gebucht und vor allem junge Leute saßen an den recht eng gestellten Tischen. Bestellt wird über ein Tablet, welches auf dem Tisch liegt. Hier hätte ich mir eine traditionelle analoge Karte gewünscht: jeder Gast kann gleichzeitig in die Karte schauen ; es ist deutlich kommunikativer ; grade bei vielen Einzelbestellungen kann man diese unmittelbar miteinander abstimmen ; Klar, haben wir es trotzdem geschafft! Alle Speisen waren sowohl optisch als auch geschmacklich von hervorragender Qualität ; Der Service schnell und freundlich. JA, wir kommen gern wieder.

I've been to Kaizen a few times now and I'm always impressed. As noted in other reviews, there is only a small menu, but everything on offer is on point. What sets Kaizen apart from the other sushi places? DEFINITELY the technology and the high quality food they use. The shrimp in Ebi Volcano (tempura sushi) is on point, the salmon tastes excellent. With Kaizen you can't say "that's my favorite" because everything is a highlight in its own way. And the best thing is, everything around is just right. Super friendly and lovely, courteous staff, great ambience - a visit there is just completely harmonious.

We read on the Internet that this restaurant is in 7th place out of 1700 in Cologne, we decided to visit, we were very pleased with the quality and taste of the food, but the service was not up to par, we were almost the first to arrive, at 5 p.m., the order was accepted quickly and the first 2 the dishes were served quite quickly, and then people began to fill the hall and then troubles began, then they waited a long time for the next order, then they brought it to us, but twice as much or, on the contrary, they forgot, we had to remind, clarify with the waiter, the whole list, the impression was that There weren’t enough service staff in the hall, they simply couldn’t keep up, but the kitchen workers apparently gave preference not to the guests in the hall, but to the couriers who delivered food to their homes. It’s not clear why, but the restaurant offers only locally produced alcohol. My opinion is that the organization of labor is incorrect and the lack of staff can significantly affect the income of the enterprise, because the service of drinks was practically not fully carried out for all visitors, since none of the staff additionally approached the table, asked whether everything was cleared from the table, or whether there would be an additional order. Well, maybe we were just so “lucky” on this day? Regarding the general impression of the hall: the room is clearly “tired” due to lack of renovation, the floor is worn almost to holes, the chairs have uncomfortable backs, but otherwise everything is fine, see photo)

schmeckt einfach klasse. Angenehme, lockere Atmosphäre, sehr freundliche Bedienung und die Qualität ist immer noch bestens Bisschen teuer mittlerweile, aber man bekommt köstliches, auch optisch erstklassiges Essen dafür und geht mit bester Laune wieder nachhause.

Wir als Sushi Liebhaber haben schon viele Sushi Lokale ausprobiert, aber das Kaizen ist wirklich top! Alles frisch und sehr lecker zubereitet. Tolle Sushi Variationen und immer mal wieder andere Vorspeisen / Starter. Zuletzt hatten dort warmes Roastbeef mit einer tollen Soße, unbeschreiblich lecker! Als ich das erste Mal dort war, ist das erste Mal in deren Geschichte der Reis ausgegangen und ich bekam umsonst eine fruchtige Alternative😝 Die Cocktails sind auch sehr gut gemacht. Eine tolle kleine familiäre Restaurant Atmosphäre die einläd. Die Pakplatzsituation dort ist katastrophal aber wer ohne Auto anreist hat da klare Vorteile! Kann man nur empfehlen.

Es war wirklich ein schöner Abend mit leckerem sushi & guten Cocktails. Auch sehr schön dass es ein Veganes Menu gibt. Allerdings sind die Tische etwas klein und man bestellt über ein Tablet bei dem es etwas technische Probleme gab trotzdem sehr nette Bedingungen.

I've eaten here so many times and haven't posted a review yet. Of course it's worth it! All the dishes are top notch, the service is always very nice and the new lunch offer is also very practical, especially because you can go there spontaneously. You definitely have to make a reservation in the evening. Must try: butterfish carpaccio and miso aubergine.

Service really 5 stars, the waiter with us was very accommodating and was able to clarify everything. We had someone with us who couldn't eat raw fish. It was no problem replacing chicken or e.g. B fry the salmon more and roll it into the sushi. Even though we were so picky, everything worked out. The sushi itself was one of the best I've eaten in terms of quality. The exterior is not ideal, but the interior is nice and quiet.

Kleines aber feines japanisches Restaurant mit sehr freundlicher Bedienung und guten Tipps zur Bestellung. Ambiente ist prima. Ist etwas für den besonderen Anlass denke ich, denn es ist leicht gehobene Preiskategorie. Der Fisch ist aber wahnsinnig frisch und sicher ganz unbedenklich zu verzehren. Auch Veganer werden was finden, denn es gibt auch veganes Sushi auf der Karte zu finden.

The restaurant itself is inconspicuous and sometimes not particularly well maintained. If that doesn't bother you and you just want good sushi, you'll be happy here.

We have been visiting Kaizen for many years now, and have always had the best of time. The food is outstanding every single time. The service warm and friendly, always with a smile. And while we have moved out of the city, for Kaizen we take the drive just to taste their vulcano roll, the harami beef, and the amazing butterfish carpacio. Allerdings war es für meinen Geschmack ein wenig zu dunkel und die Preise lagen deutlich über dem Durchschnitt. Dennoch: Wir hatten einen schönen Abend, wenn auch etwas teurer.

We come to this cozy restaurant regularly, the staff is always super friendly, just perfect. We are real sushi lovers and have probably been to more than 100 restaurants in many countries. The “Togusen Nigiri” in this restaurant is one of the top 3 ever for us, an absolute recommendation! Many thanks to the Kaizen team, you are great.

Mein persönliches Highlight war der Seeigel, der saisonal angeboten wird. Gute Weinauswahl. Das Sushi hat 5 Sterne verdient. Es gibt lediglich 3 Dinge, die ich mit wünschen würde: 1) Echter Wasabi am Tisch gehobelt zum feinen Sashimi 2) Bei den Varianten mit Rindfleisch, auf Wagyu Beef wechseln wegen den intensiven Geschmack beim Sashimi durch die Fett Marmorierung, 3) Als Aperitif bitte Sparkling Sake auf die Karte nehmen - ebenfalls ein echtes Highlight als Auftakt.. The drinks menu offers a nice selection and the Yuzu Mojito, for example, is delicious. A bit loud - hence one star less for the ambience.

As soon as we entered Kaizen at the weekend, we were already blown away by the vibe and the great service there. Everyone is super friendly and totally professional, you immediately feel welcome. Ordering was also super easy, which is a real plus given the amazing selection of dishes. The highlight was the food itself. Every dish not only looked unusually good but also tasted so authentic and fresh. It was a very nice evening, I can only recommend it.

The two of us had lunch in this restaurant until 2 p.m. It is advisable to reserve a table in advance. We received a very friendly welcome and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. Using the digital menu was self-explanatory and easy. But the order was placed directly from the employee. The preparation time was still OK. We had the salmon katsu once and the tofu steak once. Both dishes were served with a bowl of rice and a vegetarian miso soup. Chopsticks were placed on the set table. When we asked, we were given a knife and fork. The portions were very large and sufficient. We enjoyed it very much. The salad was fresh and extremely tasty. Gladly again. Clean toilets available. There are even hygiene products in the women's toilet.

This is our second time here today, a few years apart. Unfortunately it hasn't gotten any better. The service is very friendly. But now you order impersonally via a broken tablet. The music is far from sushi or Japan, nor is the decor authentic. There's unbearable pop... The food is okay, but far from worth the price and the portions are rather small. The drinks are actually outrageously expensive. It's better to go to the kiosk next door... All in all disappointing and the last time for us. There are many much cheaper offers here. Better ones too, of course.

The prices are also completely reasonable, I don't understand the other reviews complaining, if you're looking for run-of-the-mill sushi and want to pay little, you should definitely go somewhere else. Here quality, quantity, presentation and service is simply a 10/10. Many thanks to the lovely staff and chefs who bring such an incredible experience to the table. Will definitely come by again. The food is of the highest quality, is prepared in a very visually appealing way and was simply delicious - there was something for everyone. The drink selection and variations were also great. Service was very friendly and accommodating. What was a bit of a shame was that the first main courses were eaten long before the last one got his. But we were also a larger group. The ambience is simple and stylish. Depending on the table, it can be a bit tight. Conclusion: we will definitely come back.

A great sushi restaurant! The ambience is totally tasteful, the service staff is incredibly friendly and the food is a real treat for the palate. The shop was completely full, so I recommend reserving a table in advance, especially on weekends.

Was spontaneously alone here. Very good quality and a pleasant price-performance ratio for sushi. The service was very polite and friendly as well as quick despite the obvious number of guests. The tablets are not used for ordering, but are 'just' digital menus. I can also only recommend the in-house lemonades. I will be very happy to come back.
