Kaiser-Alm in Bad Feilnbach

We were really looking forward to the meal at the Kaiser-Alm, but were rather disappointed. After our last visit in 2022, we were expecting Bavarian specialties, which were always excellent. Unfortunately, there are none of those anymore. Instead, there are a few standard dishes that were okay, but nothing more. The burger was nothing special, and the schnitzel was a convenience store. It wasn't worth the price. The service was friendly and attentive. The ambiance is nice. In the future, however, we will probably eat at a local inn when passing through.

Coming from East Westphalia, this is exactly the right place for a first stop. The reception was very friendly, and we were quickly allocated a spot. You can even stay longer here! And the "transit sites" are great...easy to access, beautifully designed, and a very good washroom...modern, clean, and spacious, enough for several areas...well done! And the mini-market and swimming pool...great!

This was our first time at the Kaiseralm and we were absolutely thrilled with the ambiance, food, and service. The dining room and beer garden are cozy and inviting. See you next time, we look forward to it.

Positives first: delicious food, good beer, and a great view of the fields from the beer garden. But the service... I was about to go to the bar and pour my own beer. The staff is extremely inattentive and practically walks through the shop with blinders on.

Unfortunately, we can't comment on the quality of the food because we never even got to ordering. We stood in the doorway of a half-full restaurant with a few other guests for about 10 minutes and were studiously ignored by the three waiters and the manager. After the guests in front of us were finally shown to a table and we stood there stupidly for several more minutes (it was quite loud, dark, and olfactorily "interesting"), the waiter finally came over and asked how many people were in the restaurant: two. He then disappeared without a word and continued taking orders. Meanwhile, his colleagues continued to chat at the counter. This finally got to us, and we left. Presumably, they don't need to make an effort because they supposedly have a monopoly on many of the campsite guests. It's a shame, Kaisercamping deserves a different restaurant!

First evening at the place, short walks, very friendly, humorous service, delicious food, very good value for money. We'd be happy to come back...

Cool restaurant on the campsite, also suitable for and open to guests from outside. Very friendly servers. We interacted with three of them – one was a bit busy, but the other two were all the more attentive. The food was okay, with decent portion sizes. The prices seem a bit high, but the atmosphere is nice and the service is quick.

Cozy restaurant on the campsite This restaurant, which calls itself an "Alm," is pleasantly busy every day – both inside and outside. As I mentioned in my campsite review, it's very popular with the many overnight guests. We stayed at the campsite for almost two weeks and saw many guests stop by for a meal. On our first evening, we also wanted to eat there. Without a reservation, that was difficult, as the bad weather made it completely full. After a brief discussion, a table was made available for us in an hour. It was perfectly arranged: when we returned, a lovely spot was indeed waiting for us. We were served politely and quickly. The menu isn't extensive, but certainly sufficient. The food and drinks are excellent, and the price-quality ratio is just right. The staff is friendly and works hard to help everyone quickly. Payment by card is accepted. Conclusion: A cozy restaurant with good service and honest food. We would definitely come back.

Great atmosphere and a super nice place. Friendly staff. Delicious food! Good price! Definitely recommended! Clean restrooms, also nice! Room for improvement: There weren't enough staff to properly cater to everyone's needs. After our main course, no staff member came by to check if we wanted another drink or dessert. They only came to collect the dishes; when we asked for another drink, she couldn't do it. The waitress couldn't take orders. She only brought them around and collected them. The person we ordered from was all-in-one and was constantly running around. (He was "the cashier," the server, and the host/reception all rolled into one.) A shame, because we would have loved to have another drink and dessert. Tip: hire more staff or a host. It was quite chaotic now, and everyone was feeling a bit short. Before we could pay, we had to go to that one gentleman again. (Asked inside) After waiting half an hour, we walked over ourselves because we couldn't make eye contact. It felt a bit awkward because he was at another table... (I think he deliberately didn't make eye contact because he was so busy.) Everything was very rushed because of this. Even taking orders was a matter of hurry! You could see the pressure he was under. (Logical) -It was the most common drink for small children, also out of stock (optimize inventory?). Currently an 8.5, but it could be a 10 with a bit more time to order/pay faster!

Very good food in a great location...nice service...

We mainly ate schnitzel with fries. It was one of the most expensive dishes on the menu. I was looking forward to a nice, well-fried schnitzel. However, we got more of a ready-made, deep-fried schnitzel. The portion was also quite manageable for the price. The Coca-Cola and sparkling water were completely non-carbonated. The service was OK, but the lack of carbonation was completely ignored. We wouldn't come back.

Very friendly staff, they even had time for a quick chat, even though we didn't have a reservation. The food was absolutely delicious, the roast beef cooked to perfection. A very nice beer garden. We can't imagine the negative reviews at all. Perhaps it could be the way the people treat each other? We have absolutely nothing to complain about and will definitely be back 👍👍👍.

Today, August 7, 2025, we had dinner at the Kaiser Alm, near the Kaiser campsite in Bad Feilnbach. After reading the reviews for this restaurant beforehand, we were a bit hesitant about having dinner there. You should always try it yourself. Our meal was fantastic: the roast beef with onions, medium, cooked to perfection, the salad with turkey strips was excellent, with a great dressing and fresh, crispy fries. On top of that, the service was competent and very friendly. It was a very enjoyable evening for us. We highly recommend the Kaiser Alm.

The food is nothing special and quite expensive. Furthermore, the staff is extremely unfriendly. A couple isn't allowed to sit at a table because it's supposedly reserved and for four people. However, that was a pretext; I asked the people about it afterward. This place is disorganized, and we won't be returning.

Schnitzel, pizza, cheesecake, and delicious beer… Just what we needed after a 6.5-hour drive. Service was very warm, friendly, and prompt! It couldn't be better. Thank you, and keep up the good work!

The staff wasn't very friendly. Two people on a crowded patio was probably the cause. The food was very good, although they didn't have everything they needed. The view is great, but it lacked a bit of atmosphere.

The service was pretty abysmal. After about 30 minutes, we dared to approach a member of staff about our order. We were confronted with the whims of a completely overwhelmed employee who blamed his colleagues, which didn't help us at all! Another attempt also failed... Absolutely no organization in this restaurant - a real shame! But that just encourages competition - it's just not a good place for a campsite, unfortunately! Here, the guest becomes a beggar.

Service was good overall, and the staff was friendly. However, the food arrived ice cold. The roast beef with onions was nowhere near as cooked as ordered and was also cold. The other people's schnitzel and spaetzle were also cold. Otherwise, the taste would have been good. Unfortunately, I can't accept the excuse that it was because we ate outside, as it really felt like it had come straight from the fridge. It's a real shame, because the atmosphere is such a great place.

We stayed at the campsite for one night as a stopover. We arrived at the Kaiser Alm at 9.30pm. We received a warm welcome. We were told that the kitchen was actually already closed but if we decided quickly what we wanted to eat the kitchen would be happy to do it. We opted for cheese spaetzle, goulash with spaetzle, salad with scampi and a pizza margarita. The food was delicious. The cheese spaetzle was better than very good, more like “mega”. The staff were very friendly. We will be back. There is a small river next to the beer garden. It was nice. Drinks were brought in no time.

Hello everyone, this restaurant thrives on and with its owner. Anyone who arrives at a campsite and goes to the restaurant will have their every wish fulfilled. You just have to have a little time, but who doesn't when you're on vacation? Dear team, we thank you. It was super, we'll be back.

Was a quick service, everything was quick and a mini selection of food

After visiting this quaint and spotlessly clean restaurant twice, we can only express our gratitude for the attentive and friendly service. The various dishes were very tasty and plentiful. The host's eyes were truly everywhere, and he was so accommodating that he immediately and without further ado registered a comment from my guests about my 70th birthday and presented us all with a sparkling welcome gift before we even placed our first order. We felt very comfortable!

Very disappointing. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get anything to eat at 8:30 p.m., even though the website and reception stated that the Alm serves hot meals until 9:30 p.m. and is open until 10:30 p.m. At first, an employee turned us away in a rather unfriendly manner. He called his manager, who then explained to us that he couldn't please everyone and that the kitchen had already been cleaned. This is extremely poor service, especially during peak season.

Absolutely great value for money. The quality of the meat is simply fantastic. The chef is always there to help.

Unfortunately, the staff was unfriendly and overwhelmed. When we asked for a table, we were met with a rude response: "No chance without a reservation, and there's no point in arguing now; you see what I'm doing here." We simply asked politely whether a table might become available later. I also work with people, and when I'm stressed, I can't take it out on the guests...it's the tone that makes the difference.

Unprofessional and chaotic service. It took about 20 minutes before the waiter even noticed us so we could order. Then, food was delivered to the wrong tables several times. There's clearly no system in place. To top it all off, one of our main courses didn't arrive at all. Because the waiter once again ignored us for a while, the complaint took so long that everyone else at the table had already finished eating. When asked about the missing main course, the waiter simply replied, "I guess you don't want it anymore either, do you?" 😳 No apology, no regrets, nothing. The paying guest seems to be a mere means to an end. Our last evening was definitely ruined, and we can't recommend this restaurant in any way.

The last time I was there, the food in the restaurant was a real highlight, so I was happy to eat here again this time. Since we didn't have a reservation, we had to wait a few minutes, which wouldn't have been a problem at all if it weren't for the bartender, who kept ranting and slamming glasses on the counter—honestly, that doesn't exactly make a welcoming impression on guests. As for the food: The pasta with mushrooms and beef strips was delicious, but the portion of cheese spaetzle was unfortunately very limited.

I was there with my family last week, and I can honestly recommend the Kaiseralm to everyone! The chef, Ferhat, is an incredible restaurateur, his crew is simply fantastic, and the kitchen is top-notch. The atmosphere and hospitality are outstanding. Unfortunately, we didn't have a reservation, as we didn't arrive until 4:30 p.m. Driven all day We couldn't eat here Definitely not today! Table for 4 was occupied by 2 people. That would have been an opportunity to fill the tables. Inside, the large restaurant was empty, no service. Everything else was reserved. Some people were sitting on pallets next to the restaurant, eating from takeout dishes. We should have stayed for 2 hours. We went back to the RV and cooked ourselves something. Pathetic.

If you're at the campsite, it's a good idea to go there, especially since it's a bit of a walk into town. The staff is friendly but not particularly engaging; the schnitzel and fries were quite boring, and the roast pork was sold out by 7:30 p.m. I didn't get full. I didn't see any dessert on the menu. Bottom line: it's okay, but not a highlight.

We were very impressed by the excellent food (beef goulash with spaetzle and pasta with shrimp and asparagus), the ambiance, and the attentive service. It's absolutely fantastic here. Come early, seats are in high demand. 🤩

Our Kaiser Alm, one of several gems at our campsite, has been in new hands since this season...and you can really feel it. The hospitality, service, ambiance, and varied menus. You'll find not only Bavarian cuisine, but also summer dishes on the menu. The new pasta and fish dishes are particularly delicious! The host takes great care of his guests. At first, we had to wait because all the tables were occupied. The short wait was bridged by two cool glasses of Prosecco. The host then seated us at another couple's table, which led to a very cozy and harmonious evening. The host is competent and makes almost anything possible. Thank you.

Very delicious, regional food. The ambiance is excellent. What we particularly enjoyed was the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. The chef is fantastic, and we were particularly impressed by the young staff. They were very attentive and prompt. As soon as our glass was empty, they asked if we'd like another drink. I've been here since the beginning of April and have probably eaten at the Kaiseralm 15 times. After my stressful days, it feels like coming home. Great atmosphere, Ferhad and his team are friendly, unpretentious, and welcoming. He and his uncle and team cook—what can I say—PERFECTLY. I'm very picky about how the meat is prepared, and after dabbling in their culinary skills with a pasta dish, I ate a sirloin steak – also perfect – which, along with the vegetables and other ingredients, was just right. I also had salmon, salad, lamb shank, fish, and everything was great. It's actually too good for a campsite; I've never had food like this in a campsite restaurant. Prices are really fair. I consider it almost an insider tip, because you don't expect to find something like this at a campsite :-) Thumbs up and thank you for making me feel at home! And thank you for quickly conjuring up dishes when I'm running late again.

A very rustic, barn-style location at the Kaiser campsite in Bad Feilnbach. Good, simple but tasty food, with fast, friendly service. Definitely recommended. We'll be happy to return.

We arrived at the beautiful Kaiser Camping site yesterday afternoon for another overnight stay. Of course, we had dinner at the Kaiseralm! Without a reservation and with a bit of patience, the chef personally assigned us a table. The delicious dark beer and delicious beef goulash with spaetzle were served to us quite promptly by the always friendly staff, despite the restaurant being packed. We were very satisfied and look forward to our next visit! Gabi and Frank

I was with a group near the Kaiseralm for 6 weeks and we visited this nice restaurant several times. The innkeeper and his employees were always nice, cheerful, courteous and enjoyed what they did. A polite greeting when entering the Alm was always greeted with a friendly response. The food was always great and the menu and daily specials were sufficient. Thank you for the great time and stay as you are.

Biggest mistake was eating there. On the menu it said schnitzel. We got frozen Dinonugets. For the price we didn't like it at all. The plate was probably worth 70 cents

We spent a week at the campsite and also once in the Kaiser Alm. The staff is friendly, the food comes quickly and the dishes were all delicious! Small minus point, the children's portions were too small and ketchup and mayo were billed at the end, where we rummaged through our finished plates to count how many sachets were taken. These were provided at the table. Otherwise, gladly again!

The food was really good, the service was very nice. Unfortunately, the reception was a complete impudence from the boss. We felt like we had to apologize for wanting to eat there with 6 people. We were reluctantly offered a table. If we hadn't specifically arranged to meet there, we would definitely have gone back. It's a shame, although the food and service were good, the extreme unfriendliness remains in the memory

Hello. I was a rehabilitation guest next door and had dinner there with my wife and son on Good Friday. I made a reservation, it worked really well, there were already a lot of guests there. That's exactly why I was very surprised. The fish plate put together by the house was of the finest quality in terms of ingredients, quality and, above all, preparation! The fish and vegetable bed were prepared to perfection! Since we live in the far north next to the Netherlands, we are very spoiled when it comes to fish dishes. The cook and also the very friendly service (the very young man in local clothes👍) actually deserve 6 out of a possible 5 stars. We'd love to come back, but with a 900km journey it probably won't happen that quickly. All the best to the team and thanks for the good food! P.S. The price wasn't high for such good food either.

I would like to join others here who have experienced the same things as we did. We use the campsite as a transit point (we continue to do so with pleasure. The campsite is not affected by the recession to the Kaiseralm) and were looking forward to eating at the Kaiseralm. Unfortunately, we discovered that the menu had been changed and, among other things, the previously very tasty Kaiserschmarren was missing. Some other main courses were also taken off the menu. My onion roast was a bit low for the price and the burger was average. The real onions were replaced with fried onions from the packaging. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio no longer fits.

Very nice staff and great food. PS: the mayonaise waiter is the best!

I can't understand the bad recessions. Our food was wonderful, the burger was on point, my wife's goulash was even prepared gluten-free and our daughter's meal was prepared appropriately. The taste was where it belonged. It was just good. As for the prices. They are simply the “top dog”. Nevertheless, I think the prices correspond to the quantity and quality. For us there was absolutely nothing to complain about. The cleanliness of the toilets was also very good. Clean and everything was available in sufficient quantities. The only downer - in my opinion - is the prevailing “darkness” in the guest room. But that can be seen objectively!

At 6 p.m. in the low season, when the alpine hut was empty and the space was half-used by tables in the outdoor area, we were turned away because there was no more space. By the time we left the farm, 5 other families had been turned away. Either they are full at the end of the season or have no staff. Both very unfortunate. The hut is extremely cozy and the demand is enormous to achieve good sales. Both with drinks and food. This is left behind. Since it is the only option within a reasonable walking distance for us, this will be the last visit.

We were here for a short vacation and visited the Kaiseralm several times. In addition to the Bavarian cuisine, we enjoyed the Mediterranean and very finely balanced cuisine. The desserts were amazing. A great team, always friendly, attentive and warm. We'll be back and wish you continued success! Mariette and Michael

We ate at the Kaiser Alm a total of 3 times during our vacation. We went spontaneously on the first evening and were lucky, but reservations are recommended. A very impressive team, very friendly and accommodating. You feel comfortable here as a guest. The drinks and food come quickly after ordering and, above all, the food is very good and of very good quality. Keep it up, you're great!

We went for dinner on a Thursday. Only part of the beer garden was open. Luckily we had reservations. For those who did not make a reservation, there was the option of coming later or ordering food to take away. The food was delicious, but the children's portions were very small. BUT: A quiet, cozy dinner was out of the question. There was a “I think it was management” that sent the employees around in a commanding tone, which really bothered my wife and I. We humans are all different, but you could still be considerate of your guests. When the boss “I think his name is Gerald” took over the seating of the guests for 5 minutes, you immediately noticed a quiet and cozy atmosphere in the entire beer garden.

Update August 2024: For several years now we have been going to Kaiser Camping for a few nights. Unfortunately, the Kaiseralm no longer has much in common with a Bavarian inn. We were very disappointed this year. The food was just "okay", the selection left a lot to be desired. The ambience also suffered, the staff was rude and seemed overwhelmed here and there. Until now, the Kaiseralm was one of the reasons to go here. Unfortunately, that is now a thing of the past. Luckily there are enough inns in town. Original text: A top restaurant. Beautifully located on the campsite, you can enjoy honest Bavarian cuisine here. Plus the delicious beers from Schnitzlbaumer - a small brewery from Traunstein - that's perfect! Very nice and attentive staff. Everything just fits.

Excellent overnight campsite on the way to Italy, Croatia, etc. But no shop and limited restaurant. Easily accessible, a short distance from the German A8. Acceptable price of Eur 41.95

This contribution applies exclusively to the Kaiser Alm, not to the campsite where the restaurant is located. Here we discovered that after the change of tenant there was a classic case of “things getting worse and better”. We have been using the square as a transit area for years and were happy to be guests at the square this time when the Kaiser Alm was open. We remembered great burgers, sensational schnitzels and really good Kaiserschmarren in combination with an idyllic atmosphere and friendly service in traditional costumes. With this anticipation on Sunday at 4 p.m. right before the opening, unfortunately all seats on the terrace are reserved 100% (you don't do that). We were then given a table in a very unfriendly tone with the words “But they’ll be gone again in an hour!” Well, the child was hungry, I ignored it. We got drinks after 15 minutes, so still somewhat acceptable. After that, no one was interested in us anymore. Although I was given the menu, unfortunately I didn't find any Kaiserschmarren or apple strudel on it. After 35 minutes I asked this “extremely friendly” waitress with the short, bleached hair about it. She shrugged and told me to go somewhere else! So we did and went to Pfeiffenthaler, who made it possible for us to get a table despite being “fully booked”, with the friendly note that the next reservation would be after 2.5 hours and whether that would be ok for us! Top! That's how it works too! Professional service and great food!

Great restaurant with a great host. We had dinner with our family and it was delicious. Special ambience with an alpine atmosphere. Really special. Restaurant Top therefore 5 ⭐️Service 5 ⭐️ Host 5 ⭐️

We wanted to eat there and waited about 30 minutes because it was very busy. The owner told us we would like to please walk for 20 minutes then we would get a table. No sooner said than done and after 20 minutes we went back to the restaurant. In the meantime, everyone who had arrived after us had a table after the first waiting period. When I complained, they just laughed arrogantly and said that he wasn't interested. We are then 1km in the direction of Bad Feilnbach to the Kistlerwirt. Great location, super nice service and delicious food. We go to the campsite almost twice every year, but we have never been treated like this year at the Kaiseralm. Never again

We stayed at the campsite for an extra 2 days because Monday is a rest day. We wanted to have a relaxed and comfortable Bavarian meal. Unfortunately no chance. This store is totally overwhelmed and hectic. Besides, we don't even have a table for get 2. Although there were still 5 tables free outside and everything inside except for 2 groups was free. Then we decided to go to go and took 2 x currywurst fries for 21.80. The food was tasty but unfortunately the portion wasn't worth the money. We each had 15 fries and a very small sausage. It's a shame that it isn't better organized for such a great campsite.

Unfortunately, chicken schnitzel is pork schnitzel. Ingredients are not shown on the menu. In 2023 under the previous owner I would have given full marks. It's a shame actually. This is expandable.

I haven't experienced anything so unfriendly in a long time! Everything outside was reserved, inside everything was empty. It wasn't possible to make a reservation because the waitress wanted to get off work straight away. People were approached at the counter and there were enough staff outside.

Have visited the Kaiseralm twice. The first time we just wanted to have a drink, the tables inside weren't cleared or wiped down, even though it wasn't very crowded outside. Then we decided to sit down. Were served after a while and that was it. We had to order drinks ourselves at the front of the bar because no one was checking on us anymore. On our second visit we were completely ignored. After about 25 minutes we left again and went to another restaurant to have something to eat and drink. I have to say it was very full in the other restaurant, but we were served as soon as we arrived and had drinks and food at the table after about 25 minutes. It's a shame about the Kaiser Alm, I really remembered it differently, was here two years ago and I thought so she really beautiful. Top camping site... But I can't recommend the Kaiser Alm. In my opinion it's a shame for the camping site.

Were here 2 years ago. We were looking forward to the Kaiser Alm. New operator, service very nice. The food was unfortunately disappointing, the snack level was too high and the prices were too high. Carelessly done. The complete opposite of the operators before. Very unfortunate!!!

In place for 23 years. From 2024 a new crew in the Kaiseralm and its redesign. There has never been food like this here before. Big portion. Price/performance is top. Here we cook freshly with passion and ideas. The dishes are very tasty and absolutely not comparable to the previous one. Changing menu and menu for kids. Great and bright atmosphere. Friendly staff. We have been coming here several times for many years and are super excited this time. The new landlord is a top chef. He can not only conjure up Bavarian dishes but international dishes can also be found on the menu. He even came to us personally to bring the food. The whole team puts their heart and soul into it. Big praise!

Pure enjoyment.. I have a new favorite brewery and a new favorite salad (octopus) I can only recommend it to everyone.. Price/performance ratio is generally top.. the highest respect for the service and the way you deal with stress.. always friendly and on the gas so that everyone is happy..extra wishes are fulfilled. I am completely happy and will 100% come back

We were there at short notice on Wednesday evening and were immediately convinced. Beautiful ambience, competent and incredibly nice staff and very good food, which also comes in large portions. Conclusion: I can recommend it with the best of hearts.
