We had a fantastic evening at Joway. A superbly varied and truly exquisite 5-course menu, excellent drinks, very attentive service, and a very chic yet cozy atmosphere. A complete success!

A very nice restaurant in a quiet part of Nuremberg's old town. The food is excellent, Michelin-starred cuisine with a slight Korean influence. Very good German wines. Food intolerances are very well catered for. Highly recommended.

We've been to Joway many times and always enjoy coming back. It's a very pleasant place for a relaxed dinner with friendly service and delicious food, especially the vegetarian dishes!

Two years ago, the Joway in Nuremberg was still really good – creative cuisine, fresh produce, a visit was worthwhile. Unfortunately, those days are over. We were there once before in October 2024 and were bitterly disappointed: The chef didn't seem to be there, and the waiter apparently warmed something up and served it to us. Yesterday, at the suggestion of friends, we gave the restaurant a second chance. Like last time, we were the only guests. We chose a four-course menu: • Starter: Scallops and salmon. The scallop was simply cooked and tough, the salmon extremely oversalted. On top was a beurre blanc and a few decorative leaves – visually contrived, but tastefully disappointing. • Second course: A leek about 4 cm long, also in beurre blanc, garnished with some decorations. Completely tasteless. • Main course: My husband ordered veal cheeks, but got fish. This came in a small sauce with a few Romanesco florets – let's say it's a grade of C. • Dessert: Crispy crunch with some compote and ice cream. Nothing special, nothing impressive, nothing memorable. The service and chef were friendly, but seemed unkempt and unprofessional. The kitchen was shoddy. For this disappointing experience, we were charged almost €500 for four people – including a bottle of Silvaner. We can't understand the many 5-star reviews and certainly won't be coming back.

We had Sunday lunch. Super delicious food, a very pleasant atmosphere, and super attentive service. We'd be happy to go back anytime. Thank you very much.

We spent a wonderful evening here yesterday. The 5-course menu exceeded our expectations, and everything served was delicate, superbly balanced, and an absolute delight. It was the little details that delighted us. We were truly pampered, right down to the espresso. All I can say is, "Steckerläse ice cream." Thank you, we'll be back 🤩

The only cheese trolley in Bavaria! If that's not an already enough argument to come, note that the cuisine showcased by chef Johannes is daring, delicious and well executed. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is great. A must try in Nürnberg!

Outstanding dining experience 🥹

As parents of four, we went out for a delicious meal for the first time in months. The food was beautifully presented and truly delicious. The chef even came to our table a few times to explain the preparation. However, the entire evening was dominated by the freezing cold room! The friendly server set up a fan heater for us, but it just didn't get comfortably warm. Furthermore, there were only two of us to "heat" the entire room. Due to this uncomfortable atmosphere, the view into the kitchen entrance, and the unsightly restroom entrance area, we just wanted to get home quickly. Especially since we still had quite a walk ahead of us, as there's no parking near the restaurant... It's a shame, we won't be back. Although the food was delicious and the young chef did a great job! Thank you for that!

A superb fine dining experience! Joway completely won us over! The service was very attentive and courteous. The ambiance is classic Nordic and timelessly stylish! We had the 6-course menu, with one highlight following the next. Here, you can see that the cuisine had a common thread that took you on a culinary journey! For me the best restaurant in Nuremberg! Super nice, cozy atmosphere, a chef who is the perfect host, and wonderful food, not only for the palate but also for the eye. The menu is small and fine, the ingredients are sometimes exceptional and the dishes are prepared like a work of art. I always look forward to eating here days in advance!

Food was amazing, I love the scallop,however it was a bit too long waiting for me ( 5 course served in approx 1.5hr) if with in 1 hr. 10 mins each in between it would be better

It was our first time here, but definitely not the last time. The service staff is very friendly and attentive, the individual courses of the menu were extremely well presented, everything tasted really excellent. The individual creations were each a surprise in themselves. It's hard to believe what you can do, for example. B. can be made from radish and cucumber. And we have never eaten better rack of lamb.

The food and service were exemplary. The creativity of the kitchen and the culinary creations were a wonderful surprise for us. We really enjoyed our stay and found the prices absolutely reasonable for the quality of the food. We will come back.

Really great! We were a guest this afternoon by chance and for the first time: it's centrally located in the old town, but still away from the hustle and bustle. The plates were superbly made - a delight for the eyes, nose and mouth: the scallop on Hollunder Beurre-blanc was sensational! Service super attentive and relaxed. The dinner was a nice dinner, but to be honest for the price of the menu set at 100€ for 5 courses, we had much higher expectations. In all courses we found only 2 of them more original and more sophisticated (the scallops signature and pork chin with passion fruit), the others were composed of very good quality ingredients and we noticed the use of local ingredients, yes, but still not at the level of the price set (casual ratatouille starter priced at 15€?). The presentation of the dishes was sophisticated yes, but what was inside the plates was not matching. In terms of service, the team made great efforts but unfortunately there were a lot of mistakes and confusion (no one came back to us to take our wine order and we got the wine glasses after already eating 2 courses, the bread was not brought at the beginning but only after 3 courses, we got the desserts but with no spoons and the waitress was in the meantime cleaning the tables next to us already starting to prepare the closing instead of looking at us… the team seemed to be quite confused and not communicating between them : we had already paid and were ready to leave and the 2nd waiter brought us the after dessert chocolates again when we already had them 30 min earlier…). The waiting time between the meals was also a little long. Overall, it was a nice evening and dinner, but at the level of a 60€ dinner. For 110€ with a glass of wine, it is way too overpriced and for this reason we would not come back unfortunately.

We stumbled upon this place accidentally. But we were really happy to have discovered this culinary jewel. Food and service top notch.

A super successful evening. Incredibly great food, beautifully presented and a real culinary delight. The wine selection is great and we got great recommendations for the wine. Harmonious furnishings and very friendly service! Definitely coming back… Even something special would be conjured up for children and very dog ​​friendly. Cheese selection at the end is my personal highlight :)

Wunderschönes Restaurant in Zentrum Nürnbergs, sehr modern und dennoch gemütlich eingerichtet. Die Gerichte sind sehr lecker und liebevoll serviert. Auf Nachfrage bzw. Vorankündigung werden auch tolle vegane Gerichte zubereitet, wie in unserem Fall Ratatouille mit veganem Käse.

Geheimtipp in der Nürnberger Altstadt. Wir waren zum ersten Mal hier und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Tolles Ambiente, super nette Gastgeber und das Essen ausgezeichnet. Die Getränkebegleitung, egal ob mit oder ohne Alkohol war perfekt auf jeden Gang abgestimmt. Besser als in anderen Restaurants dieser Klasse!

The food was good but for its price we honestly had much higher expectations. Out of the 7 courses we had, there were only two courses that stood out to me. However, this place was highly recommended by friends who told us that the menu has changed since the last time they went, so it could be that this season's menu needs a bit of refinement. Service was generally good but sometimes the formality felt too forced. As regards the atmosphere, I personally felt that the restaurant was too quiet inside (only two full tables and we were the only ones who talked, very quiet if no music).

Wir waren zum Dinner "Große Gewächse" (Weinbegleitung). 140,00€ pro Person. Speisen waren sehr schön präsentiert. Nicht üppig, aber geschmacklich sehr gut. Zu jedem Gang wurde ein passender Wein präsentiert. Der Chef des Hauses war dafür zuständig. Manchmal ein bisschen abgehoben. Vor dem Dinner wurde ein Aperitif ausgeschenkt. Was natürlich gar nicht geht ist, diesen Aperitif hinterher extra zu berechnen, ohne darauf hingewiesen zu haben. Das ist ein No-Go. Wir hatten einen Tisch für 6 Personen und waren relativ beengt gesessen. Ansonsten war alles sehr ansprechend und gut. Mit dem Aperitif haben sie sich aber keine Freunde gemacht.

Wir waren überaus zufrieden, hatten einen wunderschönen Abend und waren von der Küche sehr angetan. Der Service war hervorragend. Klare Empfehlung!

Ein wirklich toller Ort in Nürnberg. Herzliche, entspannte Gastgeber mit Liebe fürs Detail. Egal ob im Sommer auf einen Wein, 5/6/7 Gänge Menüs… jedesmal ein Erlebnis. Große Lob noch für die fein abgestimmten Menüs und die Wein Empfehlung! Preisleistung = 👌🏻

Ein wunderbares unscheinbares Lokal. Die Küche ist auf einem sehr sehr hohem Niveau und entwickelt abwechslungsreiche Kreationen, dazu gibt es spannende Weine. Absolut zu empfehlen, wenn man mal etwas schicker essen gehen möchte. Man kann zwischen 5/6/7 Gängen auswählen, die Portionen sind angemessen 👍

Ein wirklich gelungener Abend mit leckerem Essen und guten Weinen. Eine wunderbare Sommelière die ihren Job versteht. Sehr gute Küche. Kommen gerne wieder.

Lunchmenu und Weinbegleitung waren wirklich gut, mit leichten Schwächen beim Anrichten. Kalbsbäckchen, Kartoffelschaum, Brokkolitartar, war alles sehr lecker. Der Service war aufmerksam und freundlich, hatte leider von Wein und Essen nicht allzu viel Ahnung (muss ich in der Küche fragen...). Espresso nach dem Essen kam in Kaffeebechern...? Das Ambiente ist dem kulinarischen Anspruch leider nicht gewachsen. Die Mischung aus Fine Dining und leicht improvisiert wirkender Location war für mich (noch) nicht stimmig.

Heute das erste Mal im Jøwåy gewesen und ich war begeistert. Wahnsinnig lecker, eigenwillig, überraschend gegessen (Menü) und sehr zuvorkommend bedient worden. Das Ambiente passend dazu klar und modern in historischem Gewölbe. Ich komme bestimmt wieder!

Wir waren begeistert von der sehr guten und interessanten Zusammenstellung der Gerichte. Hat alles sehr gut harmoniert. Wir freuen uns schon auf neues…

Info: Haben das Joway nur zum Wein trinken besucht. Stilvoll elegant eingerichtet. Gute Auswahl an offenen Weinen. Dazu gute Beratung. Preise für 0.2 finde ich sehr fair. Zu mal die drei probierten Weine allesamt sehr gut waren.
