The best Jim Block in Hamburg. We taxi drivers are only taking a short break. The Indian chef sees us and is already putting the regional patty on the grill. Now that's what you call service. Top-notch burgers. Delicious. Value for money.

Good burger place, both affordable and pretty decent quality with their hamburger toppings and drink options. Service is fast and easy and there's plenty of space between seating areas so it doesn't feel cramped at all. No complaints about this place.

I would have considered the place itself a sub-par and therefore overpriced burger joint. If I compare it to all the burger restaurants I know! (Except for fast food), this one definitely ranks last. I would compare the quality to McDoXXX Premium Burgers, but at five times the price. The sweet potato fries were very sloppy and soft, almost mushy, whereas normally these would be crispy and soft inside, which is fine. I would definitely recommend other places unless they fall to the level of FF. and demand significantly more.

We visited Jim Block on the recommendation of a friend who has lived in Hamburg for 11 years. The procedures and ordering process are similar to those at the Golden Seagull, but everything is served on proper tableware. The burgers and other dishes are made fresh with high-quality ingredients, with sustainability and animal welfare also being taken into account. You also have the option of having the burger patties made from regional meat (for a small surcharge). The three of us each had a set meal for €51. That's absolutely reasonable value! As soon as I come across another "Jim Block" restaurant, I'll be eating there again!

I had to wait almost 40 minutes for a single portion of fries. I only got them after asking. So, for people who want something "quick" to eat during their lunch break, I wouldn't recommend it.

The food was delicious, but a few hours later, my two boys vomited. I'm currently investigating whether it was directly related to the food. I'm 99% sure, but to make a claim, I need it in writing.

I was in the city today and spontaneously decided to eat there with my wife. Pleasant atmosphere, and at 7 p.m., it wasn't too crowded. Ordering was easy. A delicious but simple Philly sandwich and a plain patty with coleslaw cost €25 (no, no meal/no drink), and I left the restaurant hungry. I won't spend my money on this again. +++++ And no, I don't need Jim Block's sympathetic feedback. As a ripped-off consumer, the food there is no longer worth the price. All the best.

The best burgers that should be part of your life every now and then.

Very nice ambience and the style of the furnishings. Simply very nicely done. I found the shipping containers very interesting. They were simply incorporated. Very nice.

Next to the opera house and across a Jim Block steak house. Always fast good and a good value.

I tried the regional burger menu and I can't find anything to criticize. The portions are adequate, and the fries are more than usual. Two people can eat them together. It's quick to prepare.

The burgers at Jim Block used to be bigger. And the fact that I now have to pay over €22 for a chili cheeseburger, a baked potato with double sour cream, a garlic bread, and a 0.5 liter of Fanta is the limit of what a fast-food burger restaurant, and Jim Block is nothing less, should charge. It's still a long way from being an upscale burger house. And if you want to use one of the outdoor seats and you're alone, and both doors to the outside are closed, you can easily get into trouble with your full tray in your hand. This is a very poor solution. Jim Block could definitely improve this.

If you want a spontaneous, delicious burger, this is highly recommended. Despite the busy city, I got a good table and the service was fast.

For me, Jim Block is part of a big city like Hamburg, just like Block House, for example. Unfortunately, the last time I was at a Jim Block was 10 years ago. I used to go at least twice a week, but since I no longer work in Hamburg, it's hard for me to get by. It's a shame, because the food is still damn delicious. We spontaneously stopped by during a visit to downtown Hamburg and were lucky that it was empty. So we were able to savor our experience to the fullest. The first thing I noticed was that ordering kiosks have been around for a few years now. You quickly enter what you want and it's ready for pickup. It's also positive that you can customize the burgers. The food was ready for pickup quickly and was still hot and delicious. The Golden Arches can't always say that. I had the barbecue burger with fries. The bacon and jam dip for the fries was fantastic. Definitely something different. The seating is comfortable and plentiful. The restrooms are also clean and tidy. I can imagine it can get quite busy at lunchtime, so be sure to arrive early. All in all, Jim Block hasn't lost any of its quality over the past ten years, and I'll be happy to come back.

Unfortunately, today, June 17, 2025, around 4 p.m., I had an unpleasant experience at Jim Block Dammtor: Due to incorrect advice at the box office, I got a dish I didn't want at all. And it would have been acceptable—mistakes and misunderstandings happen, but unfortunately, when I confronted him about it, the man at the box office was unpleasantly rude and disrespectful to me. It's a shame, because we often go there with the children because of State Opera rehearsals, and today was the first time I was so negatively "impressed."

€21.50 for a menu that was completely lackluster. Inflation is hitting everywhere, but I could have gotten a truffle pizza and a drink at the neighboring Italian restaurant for that price...

Delicious burgers that unfortunately keep getting smaller and smaller for the same price....

I'm a regular at this Jim Block in Hamburg, and for good reason. It's a fantastic burger experience. Imagine a burger joint focused solely on perfecting its craft. That's Jim Block. The burgers are clearly made with better ingredients and care, resulting in a far superior taste. While I miss their blue cheese burger, I love the hot cheeseburger with jalapeños. This location near Stephansplatz (aka Dammthor) has a great, casual vibe, perfect for a quick and delicious meal. While a chain, Jim Block doesn't feel like one. It's a must-visit for any Hamburg burger lover.

It's a very nice shop, even if it's full it's still very pleasant to eat there. Delicious salad.

Delicious burger. Lunch menu recommended. However, calling the street names for the tray pickup could be a little more understandable if there are no numbers.

Everything was delicious. The only thing that can be improved is the pickup. You didn't really know 100% when the food would be ready. :(

Very disorganized and unfriendly/incompetent staff. There were two of us there, me and a friend. Everyone ordered their own food, my friend was served, his food was therefore in the order, and after that no further order was taken for fifteen minutes. So we didn't eat together, but one after the other - he was already finished and I hadn't even been able to order yet. And when I commented on the spot that I found it rather suboptimal, I was insulted. We will NEVER enter the store AGAIN.

Completely disinterested employee who took the order incompletely and incorrectly and then became mushy with the resulting complaint. As a JB regular, I actually know it differently. Very annoying!

As always, I ordered a mushroom burger without sauce and cheese, the first time I received a mushroom burger with sauce and cheese, returned it, received a mushroom burger without sauce and cheese. The atmosphere is very sober.

Im always very happy to go there, i like Jim Block since the first day, they have opened up in Hamburg. Depending on where I use to live, i have eaten visited several Locations and today I ate at the Opera House. I give only 3 Points for the "Food" though it was tasty like always but I have to admit, I feel betrayed a bit and soon I will bring my portable scale with me - cause the last three times within last 3months I really have the feeling, I did not get the 160gramm patty but the 125gramm patty instead. I eat at home the Block House Patties as well and I love to make my own patties and I have a good feeling for minced meat ;; Will bring my scale next time - beside that.... it was very good as always and the most beautiful woman in hamburg works there...so im always happy to see her. So lovely.

The Jim Block is the little brother of the Block House (steakhouse) and specializes in burgers. Despite system catering, the meat quality is very high quality and delicious. The selection of burgers is varied. Unfortunately the salad was a bit monotonous and had relatively little dressing. The portions are small. The service was quick but it wasn't that busy on Saturday. There is a lunch menu during the week (under 10€). A real alternative to the well-known US chains. It is my taste and is based on a personal and neutral experience.

Apparently there was more going on than usual, which is why the entire kitchen and serving system collapsed. Of course, no one understands the German-language calls for orders. Anyone who has thought about this concept should be ashamed of themselves, apparently you can only go out to eat here when no one else is there. I have no idea what the burgers are like and I won't find out anymore.

Food very tasty 😋 and nice staff, ambience is also good because the restaurant is very new.

At peak times there are far too few staff, only two ordering machines, there are currently at least 12 orders waiting in front of me... and no monitor with a display, instead it is shouted loudly. The food itself is always good, but waiting so long is really boring and not worth it. Edit: after almost 30 minutes of waiting, we stop after we found out that there is currently a waiting time of almost 50-60 minutes.

Nicely done, tidy shop, unfortunately there are now also ordered terminals here. There is still a classic counter cash register, but it is somewhat hidden.

We waited over 40 minutes for 2 fries. When we asked, we were told curtly that it was order by order. However, several people who ordered after us got their burgers before us (you can see this from the times on the receipts and the order from the table next to us was placed 10 minutes after ours). The fries were OK and we got a side of fries as an apology, but I still won't go back.

Restaurant doesn't vibe. Mediocre burger with nothing special about it. Grotesquely overpriced at €18 (2 extras, thanks for the tons of fried onions).

Light and shadow. Ambience better than in Bergedorf. On the other hand, the fries were all significantly older and, like all citizens (!), lukewarm. With 2 hungry and crying toddlers, I didn't have the desire to bring everything back.

I recently visited Jim Block in Hamburg with some friends. We sampled the kimchi and BBQ burgers, and both were quite delicious! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, creating a wonderful setting to relax and enjoy a meal. However, I believe the service could be enhanced to further improve the overall experience. One suggestion: it would be delightful to see a signature burger inspired by Hamburg featured on the menu. This could add a unique local element and attract even more patrons. I look forward to returning!

The food is always prepared super quickly but still fresh. One of the few Jim Blocks where it's not super crowded at lunchtime! It's always clean there, in the restaurant and in the toilets

Visited JB again after a long absence. I have no regrets. The mayo and fries are still world class in my eyes (and mouth 😅)! I only knew Jim Block's burgers, so I had to try the Philly Cheese. In terms of taste, it hit the mark, but unfortunately the consistency wasn't my cup of tea. In terms of taste, I would compare it with the Chilliese from BK. Unfortunately the bread was soggy that when I had the PhillyC. If I wanted to take it in my hand, everything would have fallen apart. So I only had the option of eating with cutlery. The ambience is worth highlighting in this JB, as most of the branches are not so open (high ceilings). Everyone as they like it. I liked it! See you soon

The last time I was here was before Corona and I really wanted to try the loaded fries - I wasn't disappointed! They were so delicious! The burger was still excellent. The store is neat and clean and the employees are friendly.

I ordered something to take away. It was also quick, unfortunately I didn't look inside and found in the hotel that the mayonnaise and salad were missing, which was very annoying. The citizen and the fries were delicious.

The patties from the vegetarian burger and also from the mini burgers were a bit burnt and the fries were soft. I used to go to Jimmy's Burger more often and always enjoyed eating there. I was disappointed here today. Since I was in a bit of a hurry, I decided not to complain.

The shop is still open but apparently they only have fries left. It's your own fault if you clean everything 15 minutes before closing. Bad service.

The best burger is the REGIONALE! Absolute recommendation - at Dammtor it is also grilled by hand - at other locations a robot already does this, which doesn't taste good at all because the machine doesn't know when the meat is perfect... I had a salad with falafel today - The balls tasted very tasty, I really liked the recipe, they were nice and crispy and deliciously seasoned! The salad was a joke, a few lame leaves thrown together carelessly. The biggest disappointment, however, is the AMERICAN DRESSING - it is no longer like it used to be, nice and thick and creamy, but as if it had been diluted with water and has no taste. Jim Block is finished, the trays are all broken, cracked, chipped and you'll get hurt if you're not careful! I also stuck with it when it came to clothing. Sorry, it was the last time we were there...

Pasé por un almuerzo rápido. Hacen una buena hamburguesa con papas fritas. También sirven refrescos de gran tamaño (a diferencia de las pequeñas porciones caras en la mayoría de los restaurantes de Hamburgo). Es un buen lugar para una comida rápida. Tienen muchos asientos y también sacan órdenes.

Gute und leckere Burger Auswahl, nachhaltig mit festem, wiederverwendbarem Geschirr, angenehmes Ambiente zum Essen, saubere Toiletten.

The price-performance ratio for the Cesar's Salad was miles apart. Green lettuce leaves, 4 (counted!!) cherry tomato halves and French dressing and a handful of croutons. I know Gran Padano grated - here the cheese was pulled over the garlic shavings twice. Was hardly detectable in the salad. I was still annoyed about it the next day.

Ich war noch nie in einen Jim Block Restaurant, mit einem Freund hatte ich mich neben der Oper hier verabredet. Das Restaurant war am frühen Abend noch sehr leer. Eine kleine Karte mit verschiedenen Burger erleichtern die Auswahl. Ich bestellte einen BBQ Burger mit Pommes. Diese Pommes haben mich echt überzeugt, die leckersten die ich in der System Gastronomie gegessen habe.Wirklich sehr gut, auch der Bürger mit seinem Rauchigen Geschmack war sehr gut .Also mich Hatfield Block voll überzeugt und ich werde bestimmt auch in Zukunft noch mal wiederkommen. Mit freien Parkplätzen sieht es hier schlecht aus, aber es gibt ein Parkhaus in der nahen Welkerstraße. Hier kostet aber langes parken richtig Geld. Aber die U-Bahnstation Stefansplatz ist nur 2 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Ich kann Jim Block voll empfehlen.

We were traveling and hungry. Then we discovered this Jim Block, which was pretty empty, which was fine because we were a little pressed for time. The store looks good, decorated in harbor style. We ordered through the terminal, 2 menus, because the individual burgers are almost as expensive. There were 3 people behind the counter, 2 in the kitchen area, one in the serving area. None of them were really friendly. The people in the kitchen area don't wear gloves, not very hygienic as they come into direct contact with the food. The burgers were bland and cold, and you could hardly taste the famous sauce. Too expensive and not nice, I would rather visit the shop on Jungfernstieg

A delicious burger chain as an offshoot of the Block House Steakhouse. The selection is good, the food is fresh, plentiful and tasty. Overall, it's a bit too expensive considering it falls more into the snack category. The atmosphere is nice, but it doesn't really feel like a restaurant. However, you should know this beforehand and therefore not expect anything else. If you take that into account, you'll still get your money's worth here. There is a point deduction for the surcharge for regional meat, because the difference to normal meat is very unclear. In addition, €2 extra for regional meat for a 160g patty is quite a lot considering that this is a mass-produced chain.

Really delicious burgers and fries. Like homemade, served on real plates with real cutlery. Affordable at around 14-16 EUR for the menu. Anyone who wants to order at the terminal (card payment) must be able to read English. Funny: the order is given a Hamburg street name. It will be called when you can pick up your order. Fast (self-)service. Ambience airy, pleasant, clean. There are no parking spaces in the middle of the city near Jungfernstieg. More for meat eaters.

Prices rose sharply. Not even mayo or ketchup in the menu. Food top. Only one star due to the Maya affair. :-) Good, friendly service. Big clean space. Typical Jim Block.

Employees do not adhere to the Infection Protection Act and are very slow. 20 minutes is really an absurdity for a mini cheese to take away.

Everything always goes well for me when I'm there

One of the best burger restaurants in the area. Now has become a bit expensive. I love the chamignon burger (I add one portion of pepper to it), with either beef or chicken. Also a very good baked potatoe with sour cream. It's stupid that they do offer salad, but not as a side dish in the menu.

Absolutely average quality, if not a little below. 😕 Given the price-performance ratio, you can definitely expect a lot more.

I used to like the food here better. I was missing salt and when I asked if I could have some I was told that they had run out of salt..... What else is there to say? Luckily there are good burgers around the corner.

The food was great and came in a large and filling portion. The prices were moderate (around 8-10 euros for normal burgers and 15 for meals) but the taste and size of the food made it worth it.

I was here on March 20, 2024 and ate on site. I ordered a steak sandwich. Ordering was good and preparation was relatively quick. I got it without jalapenos even though I didn't order it that way. I didn't get the Jim Block sauce that I specifically ordered with it either. When I asked for the sauces I ordered, I received a transparent plastic cup with the inscription 03/19. I was surprised that the sauce is no longer served in sealed bags and hopefully the date noted was the production date and not the expiry date. For a menu price of around €20 I would have expected more. All in all, I will not visit this branch again.

Decent prices for decent burgers. The JB Cheese was tasty. Very friendly front office. Recommended for quick enjoyment.

I'm absolutely thrilled with my first stop when it comes to good burgers in Hamburg. Not a bargain price, but great quality..

- We had three burgers. One vegetarian burger had the veggie bun burned. The other food was OK. After returning the veggie burger the other one was squashy. - Atmosphere/service: Jim Block provides reusable packaging by vytal. However, after asking how the process works, installing the App, fiddling together with the service how the process works, the food was already packaged in disposable packaging. I read in news that the German industry says customers do not want reusable. In this case the industry is the problem. - Service 1: the service tried their best. However, the workflows were not known/trained for disposable. Also feedback telling me to next time say right away to use disposable I take, but only insofar that there is no customer workflow described in the restaurant. - Service 2: After returning the burned food apologies were given.
