Location is great if you like it rustic, the food is partly ok and partly inedible, such as the fried potatoes and schnitzel that were swimming in fat. The pancakes were really tasty. Service was really nice but not enough staff for so many guests.

There were four of us and we were completely satisfied from the reservation to the nightcap. Nice welcome, a rustic, beautiful and original Jägerhof ambience to feel good. Given the great weather, we decided to go to the beer garden. There was a great atmosphere there too. The service was prompt, friendly and made special requests possible immediately. The food was also excellent. The four of us were all very satisfied and will definitely come back. Thank you for the lovely evening!

Attractive ambience and beautiful beer garden. That's about it. Schnitzel Holstein warmed up as well as the fried potatoes, which don't deserve their name, more like steamed potatoes, so not crispy but mushy. It might be worth a visit for a beer in the beer garden.

We were there on Saturday, and admittedly, it was very busy. However, in my opinion, it's not okay to have to wait half an hour before you could place a drink order. Our food order was taken another 15 minutes later. The staff gave us mixed impressions: from exemplary attentiveness and extremely friendly to just barely acceptable. After ordering, it took another 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive—we were put off in the meantime—and we waited over 60 minutes for the food. The food itself was great: my steak was cooked to perfection. Thank you for serving the sauce separately.

A very cozy restaurant. We were there for the third time and will come more often. The occupancy rate is very high, so you should reserve in advance. The service staff have their hands full and are very friendly and helpful, but at peak times, when all tables are full, you have to wait a while for your drinks. But as I said, once all the tables have something it will be noticeably better. But personally, I would rather go to a restaurant that is busy than one where you can count the guests on one hand. When it's always busy, the ingredients are always fresh and the store is healthy. I'm already looking forward to the next visit...

We had a very nice evening with really great food, the egg pancake was so wonderfully fluffy and light, topped with medallions that were of the highest quality, would love to be able to come back to you 💝

Unfortunately there was no bread for the starter platter (some meat and fish). The fried potatoes in all 4 dishes were very mushy and partly discolored. At first I thought it was mushrooms or something. It looked indefinable. I told the waiter and showed it because I didn't eat it, but unfortunately there was no response. The schnitzel was okay. With the cappucino there was a walnut-sized piece of dry cake. This tasted like stale bread. But my dog ​​was happy about it. It would have been better to leave that out entirely instead of adding old, stale cake. The pancakes were good, unfortunately the cream was from the spray bottle. If the food had been great, the hefty price for everything would have been okay. But....Unfortunately no. We won't come back again. The ambience is great but unfortunately that's it.

Hello first of all, I ate there for the first and last time today. I'll start with food! As an appetizer we got some bread with a dip that was super delicious! Starter of porcini mushroom soup, which was good, I'm cautious about claiming that it was seasoned with flavor enhancers, but it tasted as I said! The starter plate was very meager and for the price you could have had some bread with it! The main course Jägerschnitzel was far from the Jägersauce, more like cream schnitzel! The cream sauce was mixed way too thick and definitely helped with an amplifier, portion was good but the biggest disaster was the fried potatoes!!! They were definitely greasy and mushy out of the package! Hardly edible! The dessert was so-so! Cream from the spray can!!! A no-go when it comes to prices! The staff was actually very nice except for the waiter who probably missed our criticism....otherwise the rest of the staff were very nice... Conclusion: dear Jägerhof team, I and my companions are very happy, I'm not sorry again because the ambience is really great

Nice quaint restaurant. Unfortunately the service is really bad. The drinks ordered are called out impolitely loudly in train station slang. The fact that he didn't add Digger at the end of the sentence is everything. Food is served without cutlery at the table. If you ask, you can get some... but it takes time. I ate a Jägerschnitzel which was unfortunately VERY fatty. The meat was thin (probably pounded to give it more surface area), the breading was soggy and the taste of everything, including the fried potatoes, was covered in fat. Really VERY bad for €18.50. This is how I imagine a schnitzel in a rest stop restaurant on the highway. It's a shame because the store is really nice. I would say a clear case of bad management. Absolutely no recommendation.

We had a farmer's pancake, a Madagascar and a rump steak from the hot stone. All three dishes were rich and very tasty. Service top and very friendly. Will eat there again more often.

For us, the food at the Jägerhof was a BAD TRAP, the service and service left something to be desired. Since we were invited in the evening, we were initially happy. But, firstly it was very cold in the large room at the back, then it was very gloomy and much too dark so that you could hardly read the menu. The food left a lot to be desired. For an ordered pan - Cake with fresh champions we got a pizza-like part with a "mega" lot of cheese 70-80% 10-20% dough and a maximum of 5% of champions and the whole thing was so tasteless that you couldn't define what it was supposed to be!? You couldn't eat that with the best will in the world. My wife ordered a schnitzel with rösti which came straight from the fryer with very bad or very old fat, it definitely tasted that way, so my wife had heartburn all night and burped until the early morning. The pancakes made me feel very sick all night and the next morning and I vomited twice. No thanks and please never eat this food again. The ambience was actually very nice and put together with a lot of effort, but if it's too cold in the room then the food doesn't taste good. Not recommended for us, no thanks

Hello, I had dinner with my partner today and I have to be honest: Even though we've always enjoyed coming, we probably won't be coming back. Last time we waited 40 minutes for dessert because it was forgotten. And today my friend got his food within 5 minutes, while mine wasn't served until 15 minutes later, by which time he had almost eaten it. The waiter was out of the room for just a minute and then his food arrived. The food was really great, but it's impossible that we couldn't eat together. If there were four or more people, it was also possible for all dishes to be served at the same time. In addition, it was extremely cold in the room, so it was anything but comfortable to sit there. To be honest, I'm really disappointed...

First time guest here, great atmosphere, friendly and prompt service. The food from the “hot stone” convinced us, very good quality. We will definitely enjoy the outdoor dining as soon as the temperatures allow it. We also have the Jägerhof on the plan as a destination for an e-bike tour from the Lower Rhine. Recommended.

It was very cold inside. There was insufficient crew and insufficient experience. The kitchen seemed stressed with their bell. The food itself was otherwise good.

Unfortunately, the table we reserved wasn't good because it was too close to the neighboring table. A place setting was missing, even though I had specified the number of people when making the reservation. The non-alcoholic beer was way too warm. In my opinion, the “Favorite” pancake was not seasoned enough, but that is of course a matter of taste. Unfortunately, our five dishes at the table were not served at the same time, so the first ones were almost finished when the last dishes were served. It was also cleared away while people were still eating at the table. In my opinion the price is also not justified. All in all, not a recommendation in my opinion.

12/25/24 The store was very full, the wait for the first drink was almost 45 minutes. Food came after 1:45h. Portions were too small for the price [€33 per leg of goose] Goose was good, red cabbage was okay, dumplings were a disaster for everyone. Ragout arrived late because it was forgotten, then without meat, then after a long time again with meat. Cleanliness of the toilets so-so. Unfortunately I wouldn't eat here again.

Unfortunately, a restaurant that makes life difficult for itself - the menu shines with quantity, but unfortunately the quality falls by the wayside! The dishes are drowned in (convenience) sauce and generously garnished with parsley. Furthermore, the kitchen cannot serve the number of tables in a timely manner, so there was a difference of over 1 hour between the first and last main course at the table. No blame for the motivated service; The crux of the matter is the overall concept! A smaller menu, less “chi-chi” and more focus on the craft of cooking instead of preparing would be nice!

We were very disappointed with the quality of our food in a very cold brisk room. We didn't have such defects before. My Jägerschnitzel was not worth the money. The cold fried potatoes, which appeared to be very large potatoes on my plate, were just one of several deficiencies. The expected mushrooms were simply missing from a sauce that was served in a small pot. My wife's pancake dish was garnished with approx. 5-6cm plastic wrap. I had an appointment there on Saturday with a friend and a few other people. Unfortunately almost everyone canceled. I then ordered a delicious pineapple ham pancake because I don't like onions. This was very tasty with a curry sauce. There was even a small mixed salad and bread with herb butter. The journey with the bus and bus from Dinslaken was completely worth it. The service was also very nice and accommodating. The only thing that bothered me was the toilets, as the cubicles were very narrow. Otherwise, I can highly recommend this restaurant

Yesterday we organized a “Christmas dinner” for the employees of a clinic. The evening also exceeded all culinary expectations: Although the restaurant was very busy, the excellent food came to everyone at the same time, it was a variety of dishes and the starter platter and the dessert were lovingly prepared and tasted perfectly. The employees were extremely warm and empathetic and contributed a lot to the success of the evening. The Restaurant Jägerhof can only be highly recommended!! We have been enjoying going to the Jägerhof for 30 years and have never been disappointed. There is a large and varied menu, and we particularly love the hot stone meat. The meat quality is really excellent. Of course, this also applies to all other dishes. The entire staff is super friendly and the service is also great! We are and will remain fans!!!!

Wir waren bereits mehrmals hier. Das Essen ist wirklich lecker und bisher waren die Portionen aus unserer Sicht eher zu groß als zu klein. Allerdings ist der Service stark unterschiedlich. Teilweise dauert es recht lang bis man bestellen kann, manchmal wartet man sehr lange auf die Getränke oder das Essen. Höhepunkt war, als wir zu viert hier waren. Ein Essen (Pfannkuchen) kam nach ca. 45 Minuten, die weiteren 3 Essen (Fleisch vom heißen Stein) ließen weiter 45 Minuten auf sich warten. Das darf bei einer Gruppe nicht passieren!

Wir waren mit insgesamt vier Personen und unterschiedlichen Gerichten absolut begeistert. Die Qualität des Essens war vorzüglich und die Mitarbeiterin und ihr Kollege waren zuvorkommend, freundlich und kompetent. Alles in allem perfekt. Wir kommen wieder und lassen uns von angeblichen negativ Bewertungen nicht beeinflussen.

I've never experienced that before either. If I had known this beforehand, I would have reserved a table somewhere else, because of course what I feared happened. As soon as the food arrived, we had a plague of flies. Disgusting and very annoying. It may not bother other people, but it does bother me. On the subject of food & service: I ordered my steak medium rare, I got it just medium rare, almost done. Well, it was somewhat edible, so I didn't let it go back. The fried potatoes were too soft for my taste and very fatty. The salt was forgotten the first time I asked, but the second time it worked (different service staff). As the evening progressed, we were hardly noticed after the rooms had been cleared away. Nobody came to our table to ask if we would like dessert or something to drink. Conclusion: Since neither the food nor the service convinced me, I won't be coming back.

We were there on Saturday evening with 4 women and had reserved in advance. Our table was in the beer garden, chairs without seat cushions. The orders were received within the normal time frame. The restaurant was about half full inside and out, but not so much inside. I get a dirty starter plate with herbs from the previous guest still stuck on it. When I called the waitress's attention straight away, she replied: "That's not bad, it's just from my hands." Didn't make it any better for me, I asked for a clean one. I then got a plastic tray for coffee pots (photo attached) There would be no more plates. (Restaurant not even half full! All tables inside are set, no guests) The meals were tasty. ... It was on to the main course. There was a dead 1 cent spider stuck under a piece of melon for decoration. My fillet pan with fried potatoes was a fryer fat soup with a filling. It's a shame about the actually fried vegetables and potatoes, everything was swimming in oil in the pan. Except for the dead spider, the pancakes we ordered were found to be appetizing. The drink we ordered for the main course found its way to the table after 20 minutes. Nothing was ever cleared away. In order to have space to eat, we had to put the dishes and glasses we had used on the dirty bar table next door that had apparently been placed there for that purpose. We waited a full 30 minutes for the bill (asked two waiters) and were then asked to pay inside. The waiter who took over the cashier then kindly tried to save the evening with a drink on the house. However, I can't drink enough alcohol to forget that terrible evening. Under the motto: Experience gastronomy it is something different. For the prices that are quoted there, I expect the service and quality that is usual in such restaurants. Definitely not achieved here!

Der Service war unterirdisch. Die 4 Gerichte kahmen zu 3 unterschiedlichen Zeitpunkten an, keine offene Kommunikation keine Entschuldigung, nix. Das gegrillte Gemüse war zum größten Teil aus der Dose, das Schweinefilet war zäh und der Preis der Pfannekuchen bei einer solchen Portionsgröße wirklich unverschämt. Früher war es mal wirklich ein gutes Restaurant, aktuell nicht mehr empfehlenswert.

And no, it's not slander, it's fact and I have witnesses for that! ..... dead-cooked, unseasoned leaf spinach - consistency like "Blubb", with indefinable tasteless bechamel sauce and half-cooked prawns 🤢. After a quarter of the pan (24€) I had to push everything to the side, otherwise... When the service staff asked if everything had been okay, which was obvious given the almost identical leftovers in the same dish twice, I said that it didn't taste good at all. You would tell the kitchen. No excuse - nothing. Fully billed. There were also some dissatisfied guests at the next table.

Ambience OK, but getting old. Service friendly, but doesn't listen. Turkey schnitzel was like slime, in my opinion molded meat. The Viennese style schnitzel, on the other hand, was of good quality. So ein schlechtes Essen habe ich noch nie vorgesetzt bekommen; totgekochter ungewürzter Blattspinat - Konsistenz wie beim "Blubb“ , mit undefinierbarer geschmackloser Bechamelsosse und halbgaren Gambas 🤢. Nach einem Viertel der Pfanne (24€) musste ich alles zur Seite schieben, sonst.... Auf Nachfrage des Service Personal ob alles okay gewesen wäre, was bei sogar 2x fast identischem Rest im gleichen Gericht offensichtlich war, habe ich gesagt, dass das überhaupt nicht geschmeckt hat. Man würde es der Küche sagen. Keine Entschuldigung - nix. Voll abgerechnet. Am Nebentisch gab es ebenfalls einige unzufriedene Gäste.

The food was delicious. The ambience itself is quite nice with a beautiful garden. However, I personally couldn't enjoy the visit at all. First of all, we were made to wait a really long time to even order drinks. Then unfortunately it took a really long time until we got something to drink or eat. It's a shame. But what is really an absolute no-go for me is that people smoke everywhere, at least in the garden. Either from the left or from the right there is constant smoke from cigarettes or similar that drifts towards your own table. You lose your appetite and the desire to eat. If we hadn't been invited, I would have left immediately. Apparently this is also what the restaurant wants, as ashtrays are distributed throughout the entire outdoor area. Today it is common practice to at least offer smoking and non-smoking areas (including in the garden)... I definitely won't visit the restaurant again, even though the food was delicious.

Ordered two pancakes - 1x sliced ​​beef, 1x vegetables. I thought the first one was delicious, but next time I would probably choose one with mince because it goes together better. Cozy atmosphere, very nice beer garden. BUT... the service is a disaster. The boys and girls are very friendly, but seem overwhelmed. Orders were sometimes taken incorrectly or forgotten, drinks were only given at the beginning, no more questions were asked about them and it took forever before anyone even came to our table. We completely understand that it will take longer if it is full. But they didn't even check our table to see if there were any more drinks and everything was OK. Unfortunately, such service makes us avoid this restaurant. It's a shame because the rest is TOP. We were there about 15 years ago and it was the same way. Even then, a meal that we had ordered was forgotten. We were now hoping that something had changed after such a long time. Unfortunately none. Guys... change the service! Then we'd love to come back.

Unglaublich. Fast 20.- für einen fast rohen Pfannenuchen. Den Koch würde ich zum Teufel schicken. Bratkartoffel sind glitisch.. also unmöglich... Einziger Lichtblick die Bedienung. Also auf keinen Fall empfehlenswert

Great quaint restaurant with a nice beer garden. Excellent food, friendly and courteous service. In terms of price, the dishes are in the middle segment but are of good quality. It is advisable to make a reservation at peak times, especially when the beer garden is not open (autumn/winter). If you like grilling yourself, you should try the hot stone. Grilling yourself at the table is a delicious treat.

Unfortunately the food for 3 people didn't come at the same time. The fried potatoes were not crispy but very fatty. The vegetables are completely overcooked. Very unfortunate.

Wir waren zum x- ten Mal zum Abendessen dort. Es war das letzte Mal! Der Service war sehr nett, aber,aufgrund der Menge der Gäste,völlig überfordert . Nach 1,5 Std kam das Essen, welches nicht besonders war. Bratkartoffeln schwammen im Öl. Das Fleisch vom heißen Stein bruzelte auf diesem schon beim Servieren und war dadurch unten verbrannt. Der Pfannkuchen war nicht durchgegangen! Der Spielbereich der Kinder wackelig und extrem dreckig. Jetzt reicht es mit Holderberg

Unfortunately, the food often comes so staggered that sometimes one person starts and finishes alone until the last person gets their food. And that with just 5 people. The waiting time is sometimes 1 hour and the fillet is always served on the hot stone (instead of separately), which means that the meat burns quickly. The service sometimes seems overwhelmed, but despite everything, it's really friendly. When two drinks were ordered at the same time (one of them WITHOUT alcohol), it was no longer known which one was without alcohol. Sometimes it's really a shame.
