Istanbul Doner Kebap in Nürnberg

The staff was incredibly unfriendly, and the food was a disaster. Unfortunately, we didn't read the reviews, and I still feel sick just reading them! This place is a health hazard! Yesterday, we bought börek, pide with minced meat, and baklava. We threw the baklava away immediately. The other items weren't very tasty either, but we were both hungry. The food was definitely old and inedible! We still feel sick a day later ☹️.

Reselling old kebabs? They don't taste good. Reselling old kebabs after 3-2 days in the fridge is illegal. In Germany, this is not allowed. 🚫

It's no longer called Istanbul, but it's even more expensive. 9 euros for the smallest doner kebab I've ever eaten. Unfortunately, there was hardly any topping or sauce, but there was corn. And then, at that price, to have the nerve to display that annoying tip request (for what?!) on the screen – you have to admire the audacity.

The kebab is okay. The noodles are better.

I hadn’t eaten a proper meal in over a day after a hectic work schedule. Late night, early start, nonstop production. By the time we wrapped up I was starving and was not feeling great. I came across this doner spot on my way to the train station, and in that moment it honestly tasted perfect. Maybe it was my situation, maybe it was just that good, but it became one of those small, memorable moments in life. I ate it while walking back to the office, a simple, satisfying end to a long production day. Thank you super jacked guy who made my doner that day :)

It would be negligent if the office didn't check whether invoices were actually being issued. A scene captured on camera shows that €2 was apparently charged for one invoice, and that other practices are generally being conducted differently there.

Never again. Tiny portions and a bad smell.

A simple catastrophe. The customer in front of us was very friendly to the seller, but the seller very rudely told him how to order a vegetarian kebab. Then it was our turn and we ordered two kebabs with lots of sauce. My girlfriend's kebab had very little sauce on it, and when she said to him, "Could you please put some more on it if you can," the seller took the kebab and pumped sauce on it about 10 times. Then he refused to wrap it up and left us the foil and the kebab on the counter. We then said to him very openly, "Man, you need to work on your friendliness." He just laughed. A simple catastrophe. Never again.

It's outrageous. First, the older employee doesn't take me seriously just because I'm a woman, and then she mocks me and calls me a stupid man. I have an allergy to nightshade plants and therefore can't tolerate certain things; eating them can be fatal for me. So, with the doner kebab, I always have to ask for the tongs to be rinsed, as they're used for all kinds of vegetables, and I don't want to have tomato because of my allergy. Even the smallest traces are enough. I quickly lose my breath and suffocate if I can't get hold of the epi pen in time. So I asked the man to please rinse the tongs quickly, and he acted like a fuss... Finally, he claimed to have done it and then, when I was paying, demanded that I wash the banknote too... Finally, he told me I was a rude man and shouldn't be like that... I will definitely not spend another cent there. I haven't experienced anything so outrageous in a long time. And then the kebab cost more than indicated on the board. Instead of €7.50, he charged €9... I then paid and handed the kebab to the nearest person because I wasn't sure if it was right for me.

Anyone who orders here is risking their health. This is a serious health risk and should never be sold to customers! I also saw an employee working with gloves, wiping the sweat from his face and hair with a kitchen towel, and then simply continuing to prepare the food without changing his gloves. 😖 I strongly advise against ordering from here! Food safety doesn't seem to play a role here.

Very rude person. He shouldn’t be doing this job. Mocking customers, giving them an incomplete sandwich, speaking rudely to others when they couldn’t hear him, skipping people waiting from before. If I could give a zero I would very happily do.

I should have read the review first. I didn't look at the prices when ordering. The doner box tasted okay. The rice, okay. BUT €9.50! NINE NEW FIFTY! Not proportionate.

Two racists work here. Since I don't speak German, they didn't want me to order in Turkish. I tried to explain in English, but they still refused. I pointed to number 4 on the menu, but they still didn't understand me. Last time, instead of kebab, they served mixed fries in a box with ridiculous sauce.

2025/7/17, purchased at 8:50 pm, the young clerk was very enthusiastic and could use simple English to indicate chicken, beef, and side dishes, the action was very fast, cash payment, the beef Kebap tasted very good and refreshing

Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The doner kebab box was obviously made with unfresh ingredients – the meat was burnt and the flavor was simply inedible. The atmosphere was also unpleasant, and the staff were unfriendly and unattentive. If you're willing to risk a stomach infection, this is the place for you. I really can't recommend this place to anyone else.

I bought a döner box for takeout. Didn’t notice anything at the shop, but when I got home and opened it, the smell hit me immediately — something was off. I did a taste test and confirmed it: the rice was spoiled. Absolutely disgusting. It was really late at night, and I live far from the shop, so I couldn’t go back to let them know just how pathetic it is to serve spoiled food to paying customers. I was starving and exhausted, but instead of eating, I had to throw this trash out and cook something myself — after already wasting money on this garbage. This wasn’t just a bad experience, it was insulting. If you care about your health or your wallet, avoid this place. I hope people read this and think twice. Selling food like this is inexcusable.

The salesperson ignored me. He didn't even glance at me. I'd been standing in line for five minutes, and the salesperson just waited until other customers came to serve them. After that, I left.

I ordered Lahmacun and it was disgusting. It is already made in advance. They heat it in a toaster when serving. There is no minced meat in it. My friend ordered döner between bread. There was very little meat and a lot of salad in it. I definitely do not recommend it.

I bought a kebab from Istanbul Döner today. As I was about to eat it, I noticed that there was a moldy tomato on top. When I confronted the staff, I was told to stay away and report it if it bothered me. Apparently, the obvious defects are known, and nothing is being done about it. DO NOT GO EAT!

October 2023: This 4-square-meter snack bar serves not only kebabs and Turkish dishes, but also Asian noodles. If that alone is enough to keep the place at bay, you're in luck. The böreks looked okay, though, so I gave them a try. And now I'm wondering what you could possibly go wrong with them. They didn't taste bad; they tasted of nothing at all. Neither the spinach, nor the cheese, nor the puff pastry had any flavor. For €3.90, I don't think that's good at all.

Not going to lie I was a bit skeptical whether or not I should eat here because of the reviews but I needed to quickly grab something to eat before my next train. This was yummy, quick and the staff were friendly:)

I got a doner kebab box, but it didn't come with salad. It cost 9 euros, which I consider quite expensive. Also, the man only gave me about 60 cents instead of 1 euro – without asking and apparently hoping I wouldn't notice. So he just took a tip from my change. Even if it's not a large amount, that's just not right.

Unfortunately, I didn't read all the bad reviews. Absolutely unfriendly. I'll never buy anything there again.

There's a reason this kebab shop has such bad reviews! I got fried noodles with meat. Well, what can I say? The noodles weren't just fried, they were already very dry, so they had a good bite. Maybe OK for someone who likes it, but definitely not for me. But what's even worse: I'd also been scammed. I paid with my phone, and since the counter is quite high, I couldn't see the price he typed in, but you usually trust these people, but not anymore! Instead of the €7.50 the noodles cost, he charged me €9.50, but unfortunately, I didn't realize that until much later when I received the email about my debit. I will definitely NEVER eat there again!

Unfortunately, falaffel is the only vegetarian option. I would also have preferred tzatziki instead of the cocktail sauce, but I wasn't asked about the type of sauce.

The veal tastes like fake meat; it also looks like it is made from wheat flour.

Unfortunately, an absolutely bad experience. The staff was unfriendly and the meat was cold or undercooked and the sauce also tasted strange. When I asked if I could pay by card, I was laughed at and told: "Not for you". Old meat, no fresh ingredients...

Small place with nice atmosphere. It's my first time trying kebab, and I have to say, it's a nice imitation of gyro. The chicken had lots of vegetables inside and even a pomegranate! The prices from what I saw were a bit pinched but worth it. It's a good place for a quick bite to eat.

I find it really shabby. 7.40 euros for rolls with some meat. The counter is full and you hardly put any cabbage or salad on it... really bad.

Short and sweet: Meat (veal and chicken mixed...cold and disgusting) inedible. The rest is also below average. The worst Dürüm of my life and at 10.40 also the most expensive! Never again!

We ordered a Dürim and a Lahmacun, and the seller pointed out that the Lahmacun should have LITTLE hot sauce. Dürüm was literally thrown at us and then we were basically told what else we ordered! Dürüm was made with LOTS of hot sauce, of course! Unfriendly to no end, and of course we were given change at the very end! The taste of both of them was a joke anyway for the price!

We ordered durum yesterday and we asked for a little bit of chilli, and when we got the durum we couldn’t bite more than the bites from each one and then we through it a way it was very horrible and the chicken was not seared wel we had a very bad stomach

Not recommended, seller was unfriendly and put meat in cold and in large pieces. Only salad otherwise included. At the same time, the other employee was cleaning while the other one was preparing meat, so it wasn't appetizing in the least and that's how it tastes for €8.50, give it a wide berth!!!

I ordered a Dürüm with Garlic sauce, i asked if there’s sauce in it coz i didnt see him put it or maybe i thought the time he put it i was looking away. He said yes and pushed it in my hand. My bf was excited but there wasnt even a single drop of sauce. Spent 7-8 €, such a shame and very disappointing. Dont even deserve a single star.
