The pasta was absolutely delicious, the portion was a bit small, but they brought more when I asked. And the owner said it's best to call ahead so they can make a few extra noodles. Excellent service.

Hello and good evening everyone. My family and I have now eaten at Isinger Tor three times, but unfortunately, it didn't go as planned. The staff was incredibly unfriendly, especially the owner, who is a very unpleasant person because he yells at his employees, and we overheard it. It ruined our whole evening. On top of that, we waited over an hour for our food, which then arrived cold. And to be honest, it didn't taste very good either. All in all, we are very disappointed and will never visit this restaurant again.

The food is tasty but the portions are small. They could be bigger.

We celebrated our Christmas party with 15 colleagues at Isinger Tor – and it was absolutely fantastic! From the very first moment, everything was perfect: appetizers, main courses, quality, and taste – simply top-notch. The food was consistently excellent and beautifully presented. The service was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and professional. You could tell that they put their heart and soul into their work. The owner is also a really nice guy who personally takes care of his guests. Thank you so much for the wonderful afternoon! Highly recommended – we'll definitely be back!

The food wasn't great for me. Value for money

Just a pub that seems to have been relegated to a bygone era. Very loud and not at all cozy... the service was quick and hectic. The meatballs tasted awful and were way too salty; I can make better ones myself... and I'm not a trained chef 😉 U.Ri. ☆

After a 30-minute wait (drinks were served immediately), the menu was finally brought after we asked again. After another 30 minutes, the food arrived. It tasted okay, but: - The mixed grill should really be listed under "children's portions." - The Swiss schnitzel was completely wrong. (Instead of red wine and white wine, it only had mayonnaise; instead of croquettes, it had fries.) After we pointed this out, we were paid very quickly and efficiently. Would we visit? Only for drinks.

It's nice when the staff are drinking while the guests are left high and dry despite having ordered.

Not recommended – aggressive atmosphere and disrespectful behavior I was at a party at Isinger Tor in Essen-Steele, which started off very well. Good music, great guests – everything seemed promising. But around 2 a.m., the DJ, who had been creating a great atmosphere, was replaced by a singer who didn't create any atmosphere at all and seemed intent on performing for himself. When I politely asked the owner to let the DJ play again, I was insulted in the worst possible way ("You asshole") and asked if I wanted my €20 entrance fee back. When I agreed, he threw the money at my feet and threatened me with physical violence ("I'll beat you up"). Several guests had to restrain him. As I was leaving the venue, I was threatened and shoved by bouncers. The owner, clearly heavily intoxicated, even followed me and my companion outside and made further threats – including against the Christmas market stall (Gulaschkanone), which he apparently also runs. I cannot recommend this restaurant under its current management. Criticism is met with aggression. The service used to be much better and more respectful – unfortunately, that's no longer the case. The boss is in a great mood, and his staff are super friendly and very attentive, which contributes to your well-being. Even though I'm from the Cologne area, I'll be back. The food was good!...we had schnitzel, asparagus, and prawns. Everything was delicious....we had reserved a table....but when we arrived, there was nothing listed under our name....the ladies went back and forth, and the name Francesco was mentioned as the culprit, as the person who must have forgotten to write us in the reservation book 😁...but we got a table right away, even "without" a reservation 👍....drinks came right away too..everything was OK! Everything was great, we'd love to go back!

There were three of us here today and we all ordered currywurst. The sauce was homemade and very tasty.

Last night we had dinner as a couple at Isinger Tor again after a long time. The atmosphere is very nice and cozy. The girl in service, I think her name was Janin, was very nice and up for a joke. The food was delicious, the landlord was really friendly and the hygiene in the shop gets another 10 extra points. We can only recommend the store and will definitely come back. Hats off to the whole team.

Very tasty food. But getting 3 of 4 meals wrong is already an achievement and fixing the mistakes with a schnapps. Well, not my thing. The kitchen didn't do it wrong but the service staff should listen better. We didn't give the food back because the kitchen should be off work and the food shouldn't just be thrown away. It was 9:20 p.m. and the kitchen was open until 9:30 p.m. Unfortunately, if you order drinks it takes far too long and that could be something Go faster, especially when the restaurant is almost empty.

Nice restaurant located on the edge of Essen Steele. Although on the main road. but you don't notice much of it. Have been there several times. So far everything was fine. Today my wife and mother-in-law ate Schnitzel Hawaii there. Top. My neck steak was dry fried. The fried potatoes were half burnt. The peppers with onions were totally greasy. I shared it with the waitress. Your comment, I'll pass it on. That's it. This can also scare away guests.

A great place to come by. It's not turistic at all but for the best. The first time I entered I got a couple of weird looks like I was lost but a minute later I felt like at home. The waiters are hyper friendly and treat you as one of their own. Not to underestimate their food, incredibly tasty and at a good price. One of the only times I would give to the service an extra star.

Since I have unfortunately experienced the rude manner of the staff several times, I would now like to share these experiences. Basically, the Isinger Tor is a nicely decorated pub and you can also eat quite well there. Unfortunately, the staff has been unpleasantly unfriendly on several occasions. Case A: We are sitting at the bar with several people, drinking and chatting. Sometimes people laugh a little louder. The staff didn't like that at all and rudely warned us about our loudness. The pub was still busy at the time and apparently none of the other guests were bothered. It's absolutely legitimate to mention it if it was a little too loud, but the sound makes the music. Last weekend around midnight we wanted to go to Isinger Tor for a beer. When we entered, we saw the pub was still busy with around 10 people. We were greeted in a friendly manner with the words: "Last round, you won't get anything!" There was no trace of a “good evening” or “I’m sorry but we’re closing soon”. Here too, the sound makes the music. Just a side note. A few meters away there was also the last round in another pub. This was communicated to us very kindly and we were allowed to take part in the last round.

While strolling through Steele today, we discovered the “Schnitzeltag” sign. We were able to choose from eight variants. The schnitzels with the side dishes and salad decoration came quickly and were delicious. The restaurant was busy at lunchtime, we would recommend a reservation.

So habe ich mir eine Gaststätte im Ruhrpott vorgestellt, dort wurde gewürfelt, Skat gespielt und gefühlt kannte jeder jeden. Echt cool. Dazu das Essen - ein Gedicht, ich weiß nicht, wann ich das letzte mal so frisches Essen in einem Restaurant bekommen habe! Einfach klasse!!!

Eindeutig noch die beste Kneipe in Steele . Lecker Stauder, gutes Essen toller netter Service. Immer gerne dort zu Gast.

Ich wüsste nicht was ich negatives schreiben könnte, das Essen ist lecker und von guter Qualität, dort schmecken die Bratkartoffeln wie bei Oma zu Hause und Donnerstags ist auch noch Schnitzeltag. Spargel, Salate, Pilze, alles von guter Qualität. Parkhaus ist gleich um die Ecke. Zugang für Rollstuhlfahrer sollte eigentlich kein Problem darstellen.
