A really great and delicious restaurant! We have been regular guests for years and are now greeted by name by the waitresses. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. The food is fantastic and incredibly tasty!

The food is very good and the waiters are attentive. The menu of the day is very cheap and the portions more than enough.

I had the great pleasure of visiting this wonderful Indian restaurant and it was a real highlight! The food was simply outstanding – authentic, full of flavors and prepared with a lot of love. I was particularly impressed by the freshness of the ingredients and the perfect balance of spices. But what really makes this place special is the owner. With his warm and attentive manner, he ensures that every guest feels welcome and completely comfortable. He takes time for his guests, gives great recommendations and exudes a hospitality that is rarely found. An all-round perfect experience – from the atmosphere to the service to the food. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back!

This is by far the best Indian far and wide! Everything just fits here and that's exactly how you imagine eating in a restaurant with Indian food. From the atmosphere to the service, everything is first class. Then the food, just WOW!!! My Indian favorite is Chilli Chicken and that's exactly what you get here. The other dishes are also great!! Clear recommendation if you love Indian.

Was spontaneously here recently after the swimming pool with my daughter. It was the best Indian food I've had here in Germany so far! Top. Only the last small table in the hallway that we managed to get was a bit restless, hence a small deduction in the ambience. 😊🙏🏻 Will come again!

We happened to stop at this restaurant on the way from Austria without making a table reservation. We were thrilled as soon as we entered the restaurant. The restaurant was completely full, but we weren't turned away, we were greeted very friendly and given a drink right at the counter. After less than five minutes we got a table. The service was extremely attentive and friendly, and the food was simply excellent. In addition, the price-performance ratio is unbeatable. Full and extremely satisfied, we continued our journey with the firm intention of returning to this restaurant at the next opportunity. Many thanks to Goldi and his colleagues!

I visited Shiva restaurant and was impressed by the cozy atmosphere and friendly service. The atmosphere is authentic and pleasant, and the staff is attentive and kind. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food and the portions are large. I recommend it to lovers of Indian cuisine!

I imagined it completely differently based on the pictures. In fact, the restaurant is sparsely and uncomfortably lit and partly tastelessly furnished. At first I thought I was in the wrong restaurant. Some regulars were apparently used to the reservations often being mixed up (that's what I was told), but it's still annoying when the owner doesn't manage to fill his tables rationally. Or when he directly lies to guests that he accidentally reserved their table at 8 p.m., even though he had completely forgotten about it...because he only asked for the guests' names then...The fact that reservations were forgotten or not written down came in the hour in which we have been there 6-7 times before. You couldn't speak of friendliness here, the guests were usually accused of making a mistake - it wasn't possible. The food was ok, nothing more. The fact that the invoices are brought here as interim invoices is probably an indication of self-serving, gray-zone rebookings by the host, which is actually not allowed. No thanks! I can't understand how the restaurant gets 4.9 stars, it's probably artificially helped. The main point of criticism for me is the unfriendly service and poor atmosphere. Never again.

Small, cozy Indian restaurant with super friendly and attentive staff and great food, including for vegans and vegetarians, with a large selection at normal prices. We had only called briefly beforehand and despite the obvious number of regular guests, there was a place... wonderful... in my opinion one of the best Indians in the south of Munich!

Our visit to Restaurant Shiva in Penzberg was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we stepped in, the warm ambiance and welcoming staff set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. Each dish was a testament to authentic Indian flavors, perfectly balanced and thoughtfully prepared. The masala chai we had to finish was the perfect ending to this incredible meal, rich and fragrant. What truly stood out was the attention to detail in every dish and the friendly service. If you're looking for a restaurant that showcases the best of Indian cuisine, Restaurant Shiva is a must-visit.

Simply the best Indian around. If you order to take away on site and perhaps have to wait, you can even get a chai tea. Every now and then I go straight there and order. Rarely have to wait longer than 10 minutes. People are super nice and the taste is just really good. The lamb is also super tasty. The spiciness is okay too... So it's still edible :=

For me this is the best Indian restaurant I have ever eaten. The food is fantastic, so seasoned to heaven. I've been there about 8 times and really enjoyed eating and loving it. The boss is a nice, funny person. The staff is also super nice and ambitious. The house is Bavarian and overshadows with fragrant smells and I recommend paneer masala because the spice is so unbeatably delicious. Tomato soup is fantastic and Bhindi is delicious. The last time I ate Tikka Chesse was on the recommendation of the boss. Super delicious. Nan would be better.

Update #2 December 2024: Still as good as before. Went there again yesterday for the first time in two years and was warmly welcomed by the boss. Food great, service perfect. Update May 17, 2022: After going to Shiva about once a week for the last few months, we pre-ordered food for our wedding. At this point I would like to praise the restaurant for the problem-free process. We were asked to bring large pots. These were full to the brim, and there was also a bowl of mango cream and naan on the house. The price-performance ratio was simply unbeatable. Thanks! In general, the top service and the really friendly boss should be highlighted. We are still extremely satisfied! Original review: After the first visit the impression is very, very good. Very friendly and above all attentive service, the food comes quickly and is very tasty. The little touches like refilling the sauces and the small mango cream as dessert further contribute to a great experience. Gladly again.

We love eating Indian food, but nowhere is it as good as here! The food is simply outstanding. The owner and all the staff are so friendly and attentive that we immediately feel at home. The restaurant is cozy and invitingly furnished, creating a real living room atmosphere. We come here to eat regularly and look forward to it every time. We can totally recommend the restaurant for every Indian lover and for everyone who wants to try something new. Every dish we have tried so far has been excellent, but we particularly liked the shiva duck.

We decided to try this place after seeing its impressive ratings, and it did not disappoint. The food overall is very enjoyable - some dishes were outstanding, while others were good but not exceptional. While it may not be the absolute best Indian food we’ve had, it is authentic and flavorful. What really stands out, however, is the service. The staff are incredibly friendly, funny, and attentive, truly committed to ensuring a great customer experience. Definitely recommend this restaurant when you are in the area.

We were visiting the area from Ireland and came across this restaurant and decided to try it. So glad we did! It was absolutely fabulous and the atmosphere was great. Lovely waiters, very light hearted and good fun. Food was fabulous and a big hit with both the adults and children.
