Imbiss zur alten Dampflok in Bad Sulza

We stopped here on our motorcycle tour. The prices were great, and the food was plentiful and delicious.

We were up the mountain last week as "Hefterkinder" (school children) and enjoyed it there...especially the rice pudding and the Apoldaer (a kind of sausage). The pub is one of the most authentic I've seen in Germany. You can only find it in the Czech Republic or Romania. You can sit there for hours and do your studies...and eat and drink amazing food. The two girls, with their teeth on edge, are amazing and have their hearts in the right place. Please hang in there for a long time. We miss you very much. We'll be back in January and from now on we'll be back for hiking trips every now and then. By the way, the museum is also a gem.

Delicious food, child-friendly, and down-to-earth. Prices are very reasonable. We'd love to come back.

Today is June 2, 2025, and four of us ate here. Everything was freshly prepared and incredibly delicious. Even my daughter, who only eats pasta and sausage, was impressed! And Dad drank two wheat beers for 4 euros. Definitely worth a visit!

Simple but great and loving and delicious.

For someone who doesn't spread their fingers while eating, doesn't wear wire-rimmed glasses, or red golf pants, a place where you can get along. Sabine is there for all of us.

Can still be found at many train stations in the Czech Republic, but is almost extinct here. The classic Nádražní hospoda. In German, train station pub. Great ambience, incredibly cheap snacks, and robust warmth. It was my first time there, but definitely not the last time. After almost a year and a half, I was here again and this time accompanied by two other friends. The price-performance ratio is still unrivaled and the landlady is a real soul. If you like it rustic and don't value unnecessary frills, this is the place for you. The RB 20 Leipzig - Eisenach - Leipzig runs every hour and a small break in the journey can't hurt. We drove here from Gotha and Erfurt specifically to enjoy this ambience and the great prices and will definitely come back.

Enjoyed dinner there twice. Simply great and very tasty. The boss arranged everything great. Dined here again in March 2025. As usual, everything was top, always recommended.

First of all, the prices are unbeatable, the food was all freshly prepared. Food for thought for everyone who is impatient, the woman stands alone in the kitchen and doesn't do any service and still manages to serve 8 meals in about 30 to 45 minutes. So if you expect food within 5 minutes, you should go to McDonald's. But you have to be patient for freshly prepared food. I am amazed by the food and of course the prices. We'll definitely be back. Thank you for the lovely evening.

We sat on an old train platform protected from the wind. Fried potatoes with brawn were delicious, potato salad with bockwurst was also OK, only the mushrooms from the schnitzel could have used a sauce, the currywurst with fries was also delicious. Otherwise we ate great. Apoldaer Hefeweizen was also great. Paid 32 euros for four dishes and four drinks. There's really nothing you can say. The service was very nice and child-friendly, and my daughter was given a craft book. We recommend. 👍👍👍

We came across this snack bar during our short vacation in Bad Sulza. It is located directly at the train station in the area of ​​the former train station restaurant. The operator acts as service staff and cook at the same time. The food is freshly prepared and the prices are unbeatable. We ate here twice and had a nice conversation. Absolutely recommended.

A quaint train station restaurant. OK. The schnitzels are not handmade. But the fries are quite good and the prices can't be beat. But the special thing is the landlady. Very direct, attentive and relaxed. So I can only recommend this place as a stopover for a normal snack craving.

Hier kann man sehr gut essen (und trinken). Es gibt regionale Biere und eine Vielzahl kleiner und großer Speisen zu wirklich guten Preisen. Geschmacklich waren unsere drei Gerichte wirklich sehr gut. Hier kommen wir bestimmt nochmal vorbei.

Ich war auf einer Wanderung um Bad Sulza und hatte mich gefreut, eine offene Gaststätte auf dem Weg zu haben. Dazu kam dann noch ein freundlicher Empfang, freundliche Atmosphäre durch anwesende Gäste, schnelle Bedienung... :-) Ich hätte die mir vorgelegte Speisekarte fotografieren sollen, da man solche (kleinen) Preise selten sieht. Ich selbst habe nur ein Bier getrunken, mich sehr wohl gefühlt hier. Beste Grüße und vielen Dank an den "Imbiss Zur alten Dampflok" 🙋🏻‍♂️

Es ist nicht das Lokal von Bad Sulza wo man mit Anzug und Krawatte einkehrt, aber ein Lokal mit viel Liebe zur Arbeit, wo man begrüßt wird als komme man öfters dort hin und ein Lokal, wo jeder die Rechnung bezahlen kann und satt ist ... Wir danken der Chefin für die freundliche Bewirtung, auch, wenn es kurz vor dem Feierabend gewesen ist und sie sich gefreut hat, dass wir den Weg zu ihr gefunden haben. Man kann nur diese Wirtschaft durch einen regen Besuch unterstützen, damit sie noch lange geöffnet bleibt....

Hat durchaus offen, sehr preiswert und herzlich
