Everything is fine and after switching to the new operator, everything is now running as usual again. Food always fresh and delicious. You won't find more fresh salads again so quickly.

When I lived in Holweide, my favorite Greek was. 1st place in Zündorf and 2nd place in My Greek in Rath Heumar.

We have been living in Cologne Höhenhaus for two years now and I have been a big fan of “Tomate” ever since. When the change of ownership came up in 2024, I was initially a bit skeptical. The previous gyros plate was simply great - the gyros were very tasty, the fresh skewers were perfectly fried, and the tzatziki (particularly delicious) and the salad were always fresh and delicious. After the change, I visited the restaurant with critical expectations - and was absolutely positively surprised! Not only has the quality remained unchanged, but the gyros actually taste a little better to me. I have the impression that the new owners have adopted/refined the tried and tested recipe, which is definitely paying off. The restaurant is always clean and tidy, the service is friendly, and the gyros plate is simply great. For me, this is the best gyros in Höhenhaus and the surrounding area - and I've already tried a few alternatives. A small downer: Unfortunately, Viva con Agua mineral water is no longer available. I've always been a fan of supporting water projects while drinking water. Clear recommendation for all gyros fans! I would love to come back. Best regards Kevin

Previously “world class” under the old owners, unfortunately the quality has deteriorated significantly since the change to the new owners. In detail: - The gyro is cut thicker and therefore less crispy than before. - Unfortunately, the new tzatziki is just average, whereas it used to be the best in all of Cologne. - The fries are often served as a “small portion” in a “full plastic bowl”, which causes the fries to become soggy even after 5 minutes of walking home. It would be nice if the previous owners had been more oriented… The new owners are also very nice and the advantage is that you no longer have to wait so long and can reach someone by phone, although this is probably also due to the lower quality.

Gyros are simply unbeatable. Schnitzels are also very tasty. Pizza is also great. The hamburgers are also consistently great quality. Unfortunately, the portions of gyros are getting smaller and smaller. Very unfortunate

Ate double currywurst with fries. It was tasty, the fries were crispy and a decent portion. If I'm also convinced of the gyros next time then I'll give it 5 stars.

Since the restaurant has had a new owner, the taste of the dishes has unfortunately changed completely for the worse. We have been there as guests for over 20 years. It used to be our favorite place. You can say it was the best gyros in Cologne. Now the quality is significantly worse. The special thing we valued so much is now missing. It's really disappointing and we won't be visiting the place again in the future.

There is no better gyro in the area! Aside from that, the salad is great! Not just leaves or the stalk, but homemade salads made from cucumber, beans, corn, etc. So only delicious things and not, as we so often know, all greens, three pieces of tomatoes and two slices of cucumber! Even the delicious salad is worth it here! Plus it's full to the brim! At prime time on the weekend from 6 p.m., you can wait an hour for the food or gyros, but if you prepare for it, it's really easy because you'll be rewarded with the best gyros in the area! Definitely our first address for a “snack”! Very friendly family business. Closed on Mondays ;)

I was there yesterday and what I got was great. And I'm a chef myself and know how to judge things. But there are always complaining people who don't know anything but blah blah, and whoever thinks the customer is king, well but it's in my castle, that's what I tell my complaining guests

I've enjoyed going there for years and it's always been delicious. Unfortunately the quality has changed significantly since the new owners. It's not as familiar as it used to be! But at some point it became clear that the old owners couldn't keep this place going forever :) But the gyros aren't that bad either

And there was hardly any meat on my 3 gyros pitas Really a shame Within a year the pita rose from €4.50 to €6.00 If the product was at least the same as before, you could get over it I'll go there one last time and get a gyros pita one day! I should only taste salad and bread again They have one less regular customer

Since the change of ownership there has been a lot of neglect. The taste I've been there several times now and have been disappointed every time. Not only in terms of taste, but also overpriced. Before you had to wait up to 30 minutes for a gyro, now you can get one quickly, that says it all. I won't go there anymore.

Unfortunately it's not as good as it was with the old owners. It doesn't taste the same anymore. I tried it twice, but I won't go there again.

Tried 4 times in the last 2 years, each time they said there was at least a 60 minute waiting time or that the gyros available were reserved for orders. And I've heard so many times now that "non-regular customers" hardly have a chance or that it's a matter of luck to get gyros there. Now drive a little further, but it's worth it.

Today was the first time I ate here again...absolutely not what it used to be with the previous owner...The gyros no longer had any taste...had hair in the meat...fries fried too hard. So unfortunately for us that's it last time..

Unfortunately it's no longer the same as with the old owner - the taste has deteriorated - totally overwhelmed when it comes to ordering - if you order by phone because of the long waiting time, no one answers the phone, even though there are 4 people behind the counter but only 1 is really active - that's how the tomato has it no future - I will strongly consider continuing to be a customer here! Unfortunately! Food ordered should be ready for pickup in 30 minutes, still not ready after 60 minutes - never again! It's a shame 🤮 We have been regular customers for 23 years - family and friends - all of whom will no longer come because of similar experiences👎

There's really never an answer to the phone ☎️ and getting something quick to eat isn't always possible after waiting 30 minutes. Food was quite good, next time more sauce please There are other ways to be friendly, but yes, you can do it

Uptate.....after new owner. If you had something to wish for, I would like to have the old owners back. Unfortunately......! The quality and service has deteriorated greatly. Nobody answers the phone. And although usually there is always a waiting time of 30 minutes. The gyros are burnt and don't taste good. The spice is not the same as before, completely different taste. The tzatziki also tastes completely different. And it has become more expensive by €2 for the quality...nothing for us now. This can also scare away your regular customers.

I called and asked about vacation and they said we weren't going on vacation this year. Unfortunately we went there with my children and they were already gone. A pity. I was a regular customer but didn't go there anymore...

We ate there for the first time, currywurst with fries and we liked it very much. Good portions, friendly people behind the counter, looks clean and inviting. We ate on site and found it good. Will definitely eat there again or take something away.

Nice team, we ate gyros with salad and fries as well as currywurst with fries on site. The quality of the gyros was impeccable, but for me the taste was pretty average. I would have liked a little more spice/garlic in the tzatziki. The currywurst was also flawless overall, but the sauce was too thin and the sausage too light for our taste. Like everything in life, it's a matter of taste, but how some people can write it would be the best gyros/currywurst in the Cologne area... is a mystery to me .

Tasty, friendly, that was once upon a time. The gyro was very dry and the gyro plate had a very bland taste. The disappointment was very great, so we will save ourselves another visit.

We were there for the first time yesterday. We absolutely cannot confirm reviews like those written here. We drove here from Leverkusen on a recommendation because we were nearby. Absolutely fair prices. Portion was decent, we had gyros complete with salad meat and fries. Everything was beautifully prepared and absolutely fresh, nothing warmed up or like others write! If we are nearby we would like to come back. We ate on site, everything was clean and the whole team was friendly and accommodating. Keep it up 👍😉 P.S. I can say that it was the best gyro I've eaten recently, not greasy, tender and absolutely delicious 😋

The staff as well as the food are simply A1, the food tastes really delicious and above all the service is also excellent. Unfortunately, the new owner cannot maintain the usual quality. Gyros & fries are apparently produced "on stock" and kept warm in the pizza oven. I hope the new owners get the curve back to fresh & tasty. Of course waiting 30 minutes was stupid, but the gyros were also fresh and tasty. Now there's no waiting and you can get the oldest one out of the pizza oven... it's bad... and it tastes that way too

There are probably new owners and I ordered by phone. When we arrived the food was already in the pizza oven to keep it warm. Unfortunately, large fries with mayo and gyros are a disappointment today. As a regular customer, the portion was always generous and now it was a huge disappointment as every dish there was technically priced. And I've been going there for years but today was probably the last time. And everyone who comes in is asked what they ordered, very chaotic at the moment.

What I didn't like was that the waiter first put the fries that came from the fructose in a tub and then put them back in the deep fryer to warm them up. We were treated quite unkindly today... Unfortunately, my child dropped her Fanta while ordering. The owner shouted at us harshly, asking why this child was even allowed to hold the bottle. Real talk, this could have happened to an adult. I was really shocked and canceled my order.

Kein Schnickschnack, sondern einfach die ideale Gyrosbude, so wie man sie sich wünscht. Empfehlung gerade am Feierabend: Telefonisch vorbestellen. Das Telefon wird bei hohem Gästeaufkommen nicht immer sofort bedient.

Das beste Gyros und die nettesten Besitzer weit und breit. Essen hier seit 25 Jahren regelmäßig und kommen selbst jetzt wo wir in Leverkusen wohnen 1x im Monat hier hin. Sehr gutes knuspriges Fleisch mit toller Würzung. Warten lohne sich egal wie lange :-).
