Best gyros in Cologne!!! Yuuuuuuuummm!!

There's just one criticism I want to address first. What kind of tzatziki is this? Please enlighten me, because when I eat it, I feel more like I'm eating mayonnaise than tzatziki. I don't get that delicious, fresh yogurt flavor from tzatziki. Besides, Greek tzatziki actually contains cucumber, right? I would be thrilled if the tzatziki was homemade and made with real, refreshing yogurt.

The farmer's salad wasn't fresh, especially the tomatoes... Greek salad with just one olive and a piece of bell pepper doesn't look like a Greek salad... The meat was tasty, but very salty. The tzatziki sauce was delicious.

The gyro pita with tzatziki and cabbage was delicious. Highly recommended. Unfortunately, the wait times for a snack bar are a disgrace. We waited 45 minutes for our food. The service is sometimes really unfriendly. It's usually very busy, and they're stressed. Perhaps hire one or two temporary staff to help out, if possible.

I was drawn to it by Koenisch. The King's Plate (€17) was a 10/10. Best gyro I've ever eaten. Long wait.

The gyro is truly one of a kind. The portions are really large and the prices are fair. We also liked the bowling alley. It looks well-maintained and technically in good condition.

When it comes to good gyros, there's only one place in Cologne: "Iltis." We're absolutely certain of that. What comes out of the grill here isn't a gyro stand compromise – it's real craftsmanship! The meat: The pork is so crispy it cracks when you bite into it. Juicy inside, crispy on the outside – it's amazing! Unfortunately, there's no chicken, but honestly, that doesn't matter. Once you've tried the pork here, you won't miss a thing. The trimmings: The fries? Crispy, as they should be. And the tzatziki... Boys, it's so good, I could sit in it and kick my feet! So fresh, so creamy, so perfectly flavored – almost like my Greek grandmother's. The wait: Yeah, it takes a long time. Sometimes a really long time. What a load of crap, you think at first. But honestly: It's worth it. And until you get better, just treat yourself to a cold Greek beer and have a chat with the owners. Two really warm people who care and take their time. Bottom line: "Iltis" isn't just a gyro stand – it's an experience. For me: The best gyro place in the industry. Period.

We had bifteki and a grilled platter. Gyros were okay, but definitely not worth the wait. The rest was junk and most likely frozen.

The food was okay, but the gyro was expensive. A very, very long wait, 65 minutes (!!!) for a plate of gyro. Sorry, that's not acceptable for a snack bar!

Top-notch snack, large portions! You couldn't ask for more from a gyro plate: seasoned, crispy meat, creamy tzatziki, salty fresh fries, and a delicious coleslaw to round it all out.

Very very good gyros! That's why the store is always packed and there's usually a 30-40 minute wait, but they do their best to cope with the rush and the wait is definitely worth it. Everyone was also very nice.

We were there for the first time after the reopening and were surprised at how little there was going on. We got a table outside straight away and there was only one person in front of us when we ordered. Unfortunately, the atmosphere now has a bit of a franchise feel to it, judging by the look of the store and the employees. Unfortunately we didn't like it, I don't like the gyros cut so thickly and the fries were missing salt and there wasn't any on the table. The waitress who brought the food banged the cutlery loudly on the table because she was probably tired of it. This is too expensive for me for a snack, even though the huge portion is squeezed onto an extra small plate. Why did it taste better in the old store?

Well, I've known this place for years. Of course the food is still good and the location is better. But that’s it. Unfortunately, everything else is no longer correct. They think they are a star restaurant with poor service, I found that unfriendly and not okay. Once again you stay and are a snack. A good snack but a snack. Are you returning to the old virtues like smiling and kindness.

We were totally hyped but unfortunately we were disappointed. The gyro is not particularly seasoned. Kind of bland. I didn't like the consistency either. Very thick cut and feels like you are chewing on cartilage. Too bad! But probably also a matter of taste.

Many say it is the best gyros in Cologne. I say it too! Incredibly delicious. And everything. Whether it's the gyros or the coleslaw or the fries. Depending on when you go there, you have to expect a waiting time. And when 10 people stand in front of someone, it's not uncommon for the delicious gyros. So don't be surprised and just wait. It's worth it!

5 out of 5 stars – A taste experience like in Greece! I tried the Gyrospita and absolutely loved it! The meat was perfectly seasoned, juicy and grilled to perfection. Plus the warm, fluffy pita bread – slightly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside – an absolute dream. Fresh lettuce, crunchy onions, juicy tomatoes and of course the creamy, homemade tzatziki sauce rounded the whole thing off perfectly. Every bite was a Mediterranean getaway. You can simply taste the quality and the attention to detail. For me this is the best Gyrospita far and wide - I'll definitely be back!

If you run a business, the owner should also be aware that there are customers who check the opening times on Google and drive off to the store especially from Pulheim. You should update the opening times if they are closed.

Some of the best Greek I know. Portion very large and everything very tasty. The meat is well seasoned and, above all, super juicy. We decided on the Gyros King Plate.

Super tasty, spicy and honest food.🤩 The portions are huge and the prices are good. The gyro is terrific! The fries could have been a little darker, but they were well seasoned. The salads were all delicious too. The atmosphere is really good for a snack. You have to queue up to order, but the counter staff are all in such a good mood that this mood passes on to you and the waiting time quickly flies. All questions were answered calmly and all extras ordered were implemented without any problems. Really great service. I would love to come back here.

Unfortunately, our visit to Iltis in Cologne was anything but pleasant. When we ordered we were treated extremely unfriendly. We politely asked for chicken because we can't eat pork - instead we were literally approached by the lady at the counter. She immediately shook her head in annoyance and said: “No, we don’t, it’s everywhere.” But that's not true - the website clearly stated that gyros are also available with chicken. Even worse: some of the meat we got was raw. This was particularly bad for my wife - she is pregnant and is not allowed to eat raw meat. An absolute no-go! The taste of the food was okay, but the entire experience was just disappointing. If you treat guests like that and then serve raw meat, that's a clear “no” for us. We're definitely not coming back.

We actually go there often, but unfortunately, not anymore after today. You order something, leave something out, and pay double the price. You skip the fries or get a salad instead, and it costs €5 extra. Today was our last time there. The portions are getting smaller and smaller, and the prices have gone up significantly.

Currently, probably until October 2024, the Greek owner and his wife are serving the super delicious gyros from two rotisserie spits from a makeshift stand in front of his well-known snack bar, which is currently being renovated. Price-value ratio is very good! I'll be back.

The menu is totally outdated - even though it has just been renewed. We drove there from a little further away only to find out that there was no longer any chicken there... The owner's answer: nope, we haven't had chicken for 3 months. You could give us gyros Offering pork... totally cheeky, especially for people who don't eat pork. It's not without reason that people ask for chicken meat. It's a shame, years ago the food there was delicious... and the owners were really unfriendly.

I was recently at Iltis-Grill Frohnhofstraße 10, 50825 Cologne, and I was absolutely thrilled! As soon as I entered the restaurant I felt like I was in Greece - the atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff incredibly friendly. The food was simply excellent. I ordered gyros, and it was perfectly seasoned, fresh and incredibly tasty. I was particularly impressed by the homemade tzatziki because the taste was simply unbeatable. The portions are generous, the prices are absolutely fair and the quality is first class. If you are looking for authentic Greek cuisine in Cologne, you should definitely come here. I will definitely come back!

Anyone who stops by the Iltis Grill immediately feels like they are in Greece. The atmosphere, the warm welcome and of course the food ensure that you will enjoy staying here. By far the best gyros I have ever eaten in my life. Super spicy, crispy and yet juicy meat, super good, homemade tzatziki, incredibly large portions and a lovely ambience. The staff was also very nice & friendly. I drove 100km to eat there and I will definitely come back 🙏🏻👌🏻

Gyro plate large is really very large. Everything really tasted great. The tzatziki is fantastic. Even the cucumber salad is homemade (or at least tastes like it). So really highly recommended. I will come more often, even if I travel 50 km.

I can highly recommend this place. The food is absolutely delicious, but the shop is so overcrowded that you sometimes stand for up to three quarters of an hour before it's your turn. That's what I call a gyro grill. There's a lot going on there, but rightly so. You walk in and the first thing you see are three rotating skewers. But these skewers are worth every euro. Good meat combined with a very good mix of spices. The meat is nice and juicy and not fatty. 16 euros isn't exactly low for a gyro plate, but it's definitely a treat. By the way, the portion is huge, so I was able to take half with me. Tzaziki is great, as are the fries and coleslaw. The real salad for my wife was also fresh and delicious. When it gets warmer, you can also sit on the terrace. I can more than recommend this grill. Top

We became aware of the store through a post on Tic Toc. Since there aren't really many good gyros grills, we decided to visit and on Friday the time had come. We knew there would be a long wait and there was I had the gyro plate with coleslaw. Good quality meat, plentiful and really tasty. Tactically very intelligent, taking relatively small plates and filling them well. A bit carelessly arranged but anyone who eats here wants to be full. Unfortunately, the staff is overwhelmed by the large crowds, poorly organized and appears to be poorly organized. The restaurant has no Greek flair and is more like a canteen. It's a shame because the food is very good. Conclusion: definitely worth a visit

The food was delicious, but then to brazenly ask for €2 more just because you want the salad to be portioned extra is very brazen. Do fries meat and salad in one package. It doesn't work at all. I don't want fries mixed together with vinegar and oil and then the fat from the meat. No thanks, I was here last time, I'd rather go to El Greco, it's cheaper and the service is great and at least the salad is specially packaged there without charging extra. 🤬 Customer friendliness is very important here.

I am very disappointed with the service and treatment of customers! After I ordered I received an angry look and my food was thrown on the table. The portions are too expensive for the price. The boss is very negative and not just that day but always since I was there a few times. I wouldn't recommend going there!
