Best Greek food far and wide. Just go there to eat.

It was my first time there and the taste was really delicious. I will go here more often. Clear recommendation.

I loved living in Greece for a year and a half. Everything tastes different there and there is no comparison. Not as great as I expected.

Very authentic and the price-performance ratio is also right. The only complaint is that the plates were far too small for the portion size. Half fell off when skewering. Another serious problem is service. We waited almost 1.5 hours for our gyros plates. The processes were very inefficient. There was a long line to order and each portion of fries was fried individually. With such a rush, a larger portion of fries would have been prepared straight away. For us, a plate of gyros left the counter about every 15 minutes. If the preparation had been quicker, we would have achieved a frequency of at least 1 minute per plate. There is a need for improvement there.

Not recommended! The service is very unfriendly, then you have to wait almost an hour for a portion of gyros and then have to shell out 16 euros for it, without a salad!!

Heavy gyros, you can tell that the owner loves his product. Very chic and high quality for a snack restaurant.

Restaurant review I was at the restaurant recently and had mixed experiences. The food was really tasty and good quality, which was definitely the plus point of the visit. However, the organization of the service leaves a lot to be desired. It was obvious that the team was overwhelmed by the situation. While a long line formed, two employees stood idle who could have been helping or manning the cash registers instead. This seemed inefficient and left an unprofessional impression. The service in this restaurant used to be much better, but now they can't seem to keep up. Training on how to deal with many customers while remaining customer-friendly would be urgently needed. Unfortunately, you can tell that employees are annoyed, especially when customers are justifiably frustrated. Overall, customer friendliness was rather mediocre. It's a shame, because the food would have deserved a much better overall impression. Hopefully the team accepts this criticism and works on the organization and handling of customers.

Update 11/15/24 The waiting times are now so underground. Waited almost 2 hours to then be told that the remaining meat was "almost" already planned. They can see that people are just standing there and waiting!! WHY CAN’T YOU JUST SAY THAT OUT LOUD! I don't understand why, when the house is full (i.e. almost always), you turn on several deep fryers instead of making each portion individually. That's also one reason why things aren't moving forward. Still the BEST Gyros! But unfortunately it's very, very disorganized, that's no longer justifiable. The women behind the counter aren't really friendly either. Except the boss!

Unfortunately, since the move there has been one thing: it has become significantly too expensive. Christmas market prices! I hope this iconic store doesn't self-destruct :(

The prices are really high considering that the dishes are served on paper plates. But the food is also delicious.

For 4 weeks I've been going to the Iltis Grill every third day and asking for chicken, and every time I'm put off! Next week next week we have no space, no CHICKEN MEAT since the reopening which I think is a shame!! At least be honest or do a spies chicken day one day a week, kind regards Lena .D

What else should you write about the Iltis Grill? Gyros at the highest level and plentiful. Price performance is right. Cult snack bar in Ehrenfeld. The host is funny and the service is nice. New location pleasant.

The best Greek I know. The meat is seasoned perfectly and the slaw is to die for.

My colleagues didn't promise too much. The best gyros I've eaten so far. Very juicy, crispy and well-seasoned meat. No waiting, we had our food within 10 minutes. The owners and staff were very friendly. The price of €15 is absolutely justified.

I'm not from Cologne, I went in spontaneously and would really like to say THANK YOU to the Iltis Grill. Gyros plate with salad and fries. I can't remember ever having such a good gyro. The tzatziki sauce tastes pleasantly mild and full-bodied. The gyros were juicy and wonderfully crispy. The fries were not greasy but of great quality and the salad was crisp and fresh. Nothing more is possible, right? Snack food can be so great.

LEGENDARY. The Olympus among gyros shops. Absolute number 1 in Cologne. Extremely well attended at all times and that's no wonder. 2 Magnum skewers with classic gyros and 1 skewer with poultry ensure that every guest gets nice, crispy, juicy gyros at any time and can enjoy a unique taste explosion. Whenever I eat gyros here, my taste buds are back in Thessaloniki on Platia Aristotle.

New location, tried and tested team. Delicious gyros! It's worth queuing - today I waited 1 hour and 15 minutes (it's also Sunday). I just think it's great how the team takes orders with harmony and precision. I would go crazy! Top. As always, gyros were tasty and neatly portioned. I think that's one of the secrets: no mess. Thank you, grade 5+.

I would have liked to give more stars because the gyros are really good, but the service was very unfriendly. Unfortunately, tzatziki is not homemade.

I ordered a king plate to take away. Salad, fries and gyros all on a plate piled high and drowned in all the sauces that it was just a Lauwarner mud. And with the salad you could have asked which one you wanted

I have never seen such a disorganized operation. After waiting for almost an hour we left without placing an order. During that time, only about 10 people got their food while about 20 waited. Not recommended!

As solid as the food is, the waiting times are a disaster. Then you can't even pay with a card and you don't get a receipt either. No thanks. Then it's better to order somewhere else and have it delivered... of course that's not possible here either. You can imagine why. And when people talk about “quick food” in the reviews, you really have to ask yourself whether they get anything for the reviews. It was never quick when I was there.

Very good gyros and delicious gyro plate. I had gyros plate with fries without salad - for 15€ - I think it's too expensive, hence a star deduction. I also had to wait an hour (!!) because there was such a long line on the street far in front of the snack bar. The owner can't do anything about that, but every time I go by there I have to plan for waiting times of up to an hour. This makes a fast food restaurant no longer a fast food restaurant but a slow food restaurant. Because how quickly I can get my food here is a criterion for me. Therefore deducting one star again. Because it is almost impossible to find a parking space for the car in the area, I deduct another star. Unfortunately, you can't give this more than two stars.

Thank you for the delicious food, the best gyros and the other dishes on offer are highly recommended. Gets 5 stars for everything, nice service. Very guest friendly family business. Let yourself be won over by the delicious dishes that are made with love.

Certainly one of the best gyros in the city. The price-performance ratio is also good. The new store was also a success. Unfortunately, the waiting times are really extreme. 1 1/4 hours for two small gyros is intense. But I'm afraid I'll still come back because it's just too good not to eat. 🤤

My order started 20 minutes after I ordered it. The staff doesn't care how long you wait. The food is delicious.

Best pita we have eaten so far. We're happy to do that! :) Even after the reopening, the taste of the food and the friendliness of the staff remain unchanged. Simply great!

Food great. Unfortunately, the new concept is a complete failure, you sometimes stand in line for an hour, only to find out when it's your turn that the food will take another 45-60 minutes. Same queue for take-aways as well as those eating on-site, with the danger that if you order to eat on-site you won't have room to eat. “Awareness” does more harm than good to the customer. The fact that there are now also chicken gyros, ok, I'm looking forward to the first pork kebab.

Der Gyros war schon einmal besser. Die Teller sind zu klein, die Gabeln sind nicht zum essen geeignet, die Zinken sind zu eng beieinander. Die Wartezeit und die Preise gehen gereicht. 18,90 für Gyros komplett und eine Cola finde ich zu teuer.

Iltis Grill is really great, a new atmosphere, the food is very good, very juicy meat and portions large enough to fill you up, so if you want to eat delicious gyros I can highly recommend Iltis Grill

I've been going to Iltis Grill for decades. It's an institution when it comes to gyros. Beware of the risk of addiction because of the particularly tasty meat. For me the best Greek restaurant/snack bar in Cologne.

The Iltis Grill is a real insider tip in Longerich. The food is simply first class. I ordered a gyro plate with tatziki and cucumber salad. The gyro was perfectly grilled and nicely seasoned. The Tatziki was creamy and delicious. Furthermore, the cucumber salad was perfect with the gyros. The service was very friendly and attentive. They took the time to ask about our wishes and recommend the different dishes. I can fully recommend the Iltis Grill. Here are a few other things that I particularly like about the Iltis Grill: The prices are very fair. There is a large selection of Greek specialties. I will definitely come back!

Absolutely incapable of criticism, as a customer I was presented with meat from a skewer that had been cut off from the bottom and top and was full of fat. Instead of apologizing and simply making a new plate, I was immediately insulted. Meat should be fatty😂😂 😂🤦‍♂️😂.So with an empty stomach, went somewhere else where you can get the gyros without FAT.😎.Well 3 and the last time I was there

Very, very long waiting times, far too few staff for a store like this. The gyros are good but not above average and for the price of a pita for €8 we won't visit the IltisGrill again as there are better gyros places nearby that are even cheaper.

So I have to say it tasted good but I didn't let myself get carried away by the hype but why I say only 3 stars is actually even less, the price of 17€ is far too extreme because there are comparable shops that are simply much cheaper and also taste better.

So, if you've just come back from vacation and the first thing you do is go to Iltis to eat a gyros, then that has a meaning! That was delicious!

For a long time it was the best gyros place in Cologne for me. However, it fits For me the price/performance ratio is no longer there. €16.50 for a gyro plate Complete is a house number. Accordingly, I expect a lot.

Super friendly, super tasty. Best gyros in Cologne Update 10/8/24: After the move the prices increased significantly and the service comes with it Onslaught is absolutely no longer clear. Waiting times of over an hour while the boss chats with regular guests and nothing is moving forward. I'll probably only come here very rarely, so I'd rather get a lower quality gyro for less money and prepared three times as quickly. Too bad

Imbiss neuer Standort Frohnhofstraße. Speisen sind teurer geworden und Portionen kleiner. Gyros nicht gewürzt. Wartezeit bis zur Bestellung und Erhalt der Speisen 1,5 Stunden :-(

The best Greek I know for gyros. The food tastes excellent, always fresh, not too salty, not greasy or anything like that. Only natural ingredients, always freshly prepared and well seasoned!!! We have been coming back for over 10 years. You often have to wait for food/order, but it tastes simply excellent!!! At the other good stores you just have to wait. Good to know: only cash payment!

I would prefer not to give a star at all. I ordered everything in large but received everything in small + everything was charged in large, after waiting an hour... I absolutely don't recommend it. Never go there again.

Never had such a fabulous gyros plate before! Every single component was perfect in itself. The gyro meat was crispy on the outside and completely tender on the inside. Not greasy or gristly at all, like other gyro meat. In addition, Christos and his families are extremely warm and hospitable (and that is genuine and not faked to be friendly!). The food and hospitality will make you feel right at home here. Conclusion: Best gyros ever, the hype is really justified! Thank you Christos!!

The only downside is that it's so good that if you just go there in the evening you'll have to wait a really long time. So it's better to order on the phone in the evening and ask when you should be there. Saves time ;-) Addendum: even after the move, still as good as before!

The food was really delicious and the staff were very nice. But I noticed a moaning customer who shouted words like “Doah”, “Schmäckt” and once “Bäm Bäm Biggolo, I’m a Jiggolo” in front of the camera. When I asked him about it, he said he was Koenisch and also gave me a trading tip for Fifa. I hope the Sissoko still rises.

The best Gyros Pita in Cologne. Simply perfectly seasoned and grilled meat, the bread warmed in the oven, great tzatziki and coleslaw in other ways too - you can tell that everything has been thought through. The gyro plate at the neighboring table is really huge, the portion is so you'll be more than full And although there are probably hundreds of people who come to eat every day, the owners are extremely happy with every customer when they say that they enjoyed it - that's pure emotion and I'm totally thrilled

Very tasty gyros, and everything else too. The 3 stars for the ambience is only because they only have the food truck as a replacement at the moment. Luckily they have the food truck, so at least you can still get the delicious food. I can only recommend everyone in the area to try the gyros there, they also have really good portions for the money.

I've lived in Switzerland for years but a visit to Cologne without a gyros from the Iltis Grill is like a café without water Just great!!

For me the best gyros in all of Cologne, always fresh, delicious and everyone is super nice. Sometimes you have to wait a bit because it's busy at lunchtime, but it's 100% worth the wait.

The visit to Grisch was a taste-wise pleasure! The meat was crispy and juicy, the fries were simply delicious and the tzatziki was great. A real culinary delight! Unfortunately, the restaurant/snack bar is not in an ideal location for drivers as there are many construction sites in the area. It would therefore be advisable to take the train. Nevertheless, if I were near it, I would come by again. Ordered dish. Gyros plate with salad and fries.

Even if the line is always relatively long, it's worth it. Price performance fits. The food is fresh and delicious. Unfortunately there is no real seating option at the moment as the shop has currently been moved into a car due to renovation work. Still, it's 100% worth it

By far the best gyros in Cologne. Nice, friendly staff. Ambience only gets 3 stars at the moment because the preparation has to take place in a temporary stand due to renovation work. But it will be adapted to the restaurant when finished. 😉👍
