En Elladi in Köln

The food was simply delicious. The meat was perfectly seasoned, and the fries were crispy and not at all soggy. A fantastic family business that clearly puts a lot of love and time into the restaurant to ensure guests enjoy the highest quality possible. The welcome was warm and friendly, a marked change from the previous owner. I've already recommended the restaurant to all my friends. From now on, you can probably call me a regular customer.

The restaurant's value for money is excellent! The food was delicious, and I recommend you try it for yourself.

Five stars aren't enough to describe how delicious the gyros at En Elladi are. The owners are super friendly, and you feel completely at home in the restaurant. As a Greek, I find the tzatziki to be at least as good as in Greek restaurants, if not better. En Elladi is my comfort food, and I highly recommend the gyros pita (Greek style)!

Very tasty gyros, we've been getting them here for years!

Oh dear, what has happened to our favorite gyro snack bar!! The 2 stars are for the delicious fries, but that's about it. The gyros are completely overseasoned, too salty, and completely dry. The cuts are way too small, but that's because of those dreadful machines. Why not use a knife like before? The result is meat fibers instead of chunks. The salads and tzatziki were warm(!) Is the refrigeration in the counter broken or switched off? Very worrying for products with dairy.... Unfortunately, nothing is fresh and they only serve convenience products. For the significantly higher price, the portions are much smaller. Complaints (and there were 3 in the half hour we were there!) are handled in an unfriendly and opinionated manner. There are probably quite a few who only go here once, like us. Such a shame! Addendum: The fact that the owners responded to the review is very positive. I actually made a comparison to the previous owners, with whom we regularly stayed. It was actually our first time here under the new management. However, this doesn't change our subjective impression, and to assume we weren't even there is pretty cheeky! Nevertheless, I wish the family much success and all the best for En Elladi.

Very expensive and nothing to it! I paid €15 for an iced tea and a plate of gyro. The fries weren't salted, and the portion of gyro was a tiny one. Overall, this place is a no-go for me!

I tried the restaurant for the first time today and had the food delivered. First, the positives: the pita bread is fantastic; it's really nice and fluffy. The food arrived warm, just the right temperature for eating. It was a bit too salty for my taste, but everyone's taste is different. I'm so satisfied, and it won't be my last order :)

However, I often find it a bit carelessly "thrown together," and the lady of the house is often in a bad mood 🤷‍♀️🤣 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: I gave them a second chance because, as I said, the food is actually delicious, but you don't feel welcome and you feel like you're intruding upon entering the store. You sit there as a family at your table, like you're in the living room, and the lady gets up, super annoyed because a customer is coming in. That's the feeling you get. And then, sorry to say, it's extremely slow. The activities are carried out in slow motion... simply listlessly... what a shame!

A snack bar. You can definitely sit down to eat. A relatively cheap snack bar with a wide range of food. My Jägerschnitzel was exactly how I wanted it. Sometimes you crave exactly that.

An absolutely first class experience and definitely worth the price

Unfortunately I have to agree with some of the negative reviews. The quality of the food, especially the quantity, has declined significantly since the change of ownership. The food itself still tastes quite good, but the meat often leaves something to be desired. In particular, the higher prices together with the smaller portions are unreasonable. Especially when it comes to the Gyros Pita, I have the feeling that every time you order it without meat, there are a few pieces of meat on it, the rest consists of cabbage and tzatziki. The cabbage content has been significantly increased and the meat has been saved. It feels like you're just eating coleslaw with bread. This is very, very unfortunate and should be changed again. There are also a few other things that you shouldn't allow yourself to do, especially as a new owner. I was there last Wednesday around 5 p.m., wanted to take a portion of gyros with me and was disappointed (again). Despite the actual opening times, there was a note hanging in the door with the following inscription: "I'll be back from 6:30 p.m. [...]" Reliability should actually be there, especially after a business handover. I don't remember this ever happening with the old owners. I am and have been a regular customer of the previous owners, but I have reduced my visit frequency significantly. I now prefer the Jacobs Gyros in the southern part of the city. My conclusion: Of course, every beginning is difficult and it takes some time for everything to settle down. It's just a shame that everything was changed right at the beginning in order to "make more money". I can partially confirm this impression, which also emerges as a message from some previous reviews. Very unfortunate. If you continue like this, I'm afraid you'll alienate even more customers. Please take care of your customers, that's what I would like for you and for me. In my opinion, you can still eat there, but you should consider whether you are a little or a bit hungry and whether the price/performance ratio is right for you.

A must every now and then. Always delicious. Nice but not intrusive. The boss and boss do their thing and ensure supplies. Addendum 2025: I'm curious to see how long the store will last under the new owners. Have now been a guest twice in the new era. Things are visibly going downhill. Too bad. Hopefully there will be a turnaround after all.

Previously the best Greek snack bar - unfortunately after the change of ownership it was just overpriced mediocre! We live in Zollstock and have been regular customers at En Elladi for years. Unfortunately, after the change of ownership about 6-7 months ago, the quality and quantity of the food has deteriorated significantly - while the prices remain consistently high. - Gyros are no longer crispy, but rather dry-cooked shreds of meat - New Styrofoam bowls, where there is significantly less space for the gyros > Here the greed for money seems to be greater than the satisfied customer - Prices of 13-14 euros are too high for what you get - The new owner is friendly, his wife is rather grumpy/unfriendly We'll probably have to look for a new snack bar - a shame for Veedel

Absolutely recommended!! Here you can get really tasty gyros, very good French fries and a really excellent tzatziki. Rarely have I had such a good tzatziki, here you can taste that it was made with a pinch of love. And also lovely, friendly owners with whom you can have a nice chat. This is our address for good food. We look forward to next time.

Today I ordered from Lieferando: the Schnitzel Hawaii was cut into small pieces and gratinated with cheese and pineapple! This is clearly not a schnitzel Hawaii! My pizza was almost burnt, I couldn't eat the crust, it was black!

I'm a regular customer here, but unfortunately not everything is right since the owner changed. Gyros are often cut off too early and not crispy, orders now take a long time (in the store) and people often ask you three times what you really ordered and it is still wrong. You should also wash your hands more often if you do something else in between. Please try to improve this, it's now too expensive and the portions are too small!

The owners have changed. Portions are smaller and it no longer tastes as usual. My friend is no longer full. It's also uncomfortable when a young child watches children's programs on the tablet.

Unfortunately it's been a catastrophe since the change of operator. Have 40!!!! Minutes needed for a currywurst with fries! Then say you should come earlier so you don't have to wait! More than cheeky! If you work like at Zootopia, unfortunately it won't work! Been there last time! No more recommendation!

This was my first time there after the change of ownership and I think it's ok now. This used to be my number 1 Greek restaurant but now unfortunately it has slipped to second place. It's understandable that the prices are getting more expensive, but the fact that the portions are also getting smaller is doubly a shame. In terms of taste, it's not quite as good as the previous owner's, but it's also difficult to follow in those footsteps. Staff is friendly and quick. Every beginning is difficult. Wish you much success.

Since En Elladi has (unfortunately) had a new owner, the quality of the food has dropped and the female waiter behind the counter in particular (probably the new owner) has an arrogant and snippy manner about her that takes away the desire to order something. We were regular customers for years and were always more than satisfied. (at the old owners) It's sad that this kind of destroys the name of a top shop. We cannot and will not recommend it anymore. 👎👎👎

We ate here twice during a holiday in Cologne because it was so incredibly tasty and the new operators were really nice and friendly. Gyros on pita is my favorite!! It's a shame that there isn't a shop like this in Berlin... Keep it up, we'll be happy to come back next time we visit Cologne 😉!!

En Elladi is really the best gyro shop in all of Cologne. The owners are very welcoming, warm and personable. But that's only an initial plus point, because the food is incredibly tasty and the portions are very generous for what you pay. Phew, unfortunately it wasn't as expected. Let's start with the positive: The fries were great and the tzatziki was also of a good standard. Unfortunately that was it. The pitagyros we ordered open was sobering. I know this with warm pita bread and not just baked through. Unfortunately, the coleslaw, which is what makes a pita like this, was also missing. The meat is a matter of taste. Unfortunately it didn't suit our taste either. Last but not least, the Saganaki. Ordered as a starter, but received with the main course (anything can happen) no saganaki came out of the oven, but diced tomatoes with feta in olive oil. When approached and supported by Google images, I was told that they had never seen the dish before and that it had been taken over from its predecessor. It's difficult because I get the dish served the way I know it in all Greek restaurants. So it was unfortunately a visit that cannot be recommended, which is a shame because a few years ago the person I was with had a completely different impression.

The shop looks very clean on the outside and just as well maintained on the inside, we were served quickly. The food itself tasted very good, the meat was well seasoned and the bread and tzatziki were homemade. The fries are crispy! Conclusion: Gladly again!

Very good food for a good price

Very good gyros at a fair price. Delicious fries and tzatziki. So far we've only picked up something, it was always good and ready quickly, it's rare to find something that good and cheap.

Unfortunately no longer recommended. I was always enthusiastic and really enjoyed eating there. But it has decreased significantly in the last few weeks and months. Gyros pita always had less meat on it, but gyro plates that were prepared afterwards had more than a "construction worker's portion" of meat on them. You feel like you're being taken for a ride, especially given the prices. On weekends you sometimes arrive 1-1.5 hours before closing time but then hear “no more meat”. And even if you do get one with very lean toppings, the gyro plates you order afterwards are more than generously filled with meat. Both often argue with each other. Can you look past that? She prepares the pita better quality than he does. When he is absolutely loveless and “she has to do it”. The worst thing is that HE grabs the salads with his fingers to prepare them and licks spoons (thankfully they don't end up in the tzatziki), having previously collected money. Absolutely unhygienic. Unfortunately no longer recommended. Absolutely a shame. ☹️

Man hört’s oft aber hier stimmt es: Bester Gyros Kölns. Tsatsiki Weltklasse, es werden viele Kalamata auf dem Salat gegönnt und die Pommes sind die köstlichen dicken.

Ich ging hierher auch oft in der Zeit wo ich in Köln war. Heute noch Mal nach 3 Jahren Abwesenheit. Voll lecker und sogar besser als vor Corona Zeit:)

Klasse Laden. Das Gyros war super, genau richtig. Leicht kross und würzig. Das Tzatziki hat die perfekte Konsistenz. Die Portionen sind schön groß. Preis/Leistung absolut super. Von daher absolut nichts auszusetzen.

Bester Laden. Super schnell, große Gerichte und das Essen ist einfach super lecker :D

Essen kalt und ohne mindesten Geschmack. Besitzerin ist absolut unfreundlich und imer schlecht gelaunt. Es giebt 100 von imbis in der nähe . Nie wieder .

Habe heute mir nach langen Arbeitstag was geholt Gyros Mann konnte das weisgott nicht essen geht gar nicht das Geld was ich dafür bezahlt habe ich bereut.nicht zu empfehlen

Man setzt sich rein und wird nicht bedient, nur angeguckt. Wenn man vorne an der Theke bestellen soll, sollte man dies auch sagen!!!

Über Lieferando bestellt. Pommes kam ohne Tsatsiki, Pita kam ohne Krautsalat, dafür aber mit Pommes, die ich in der Pita nicht bestellt habe. Das Fleisch war zäh. Das Tsatsiki in der Pita war voll auf der einen Seite, und die andere Pita Seite war trocken. Also, über 20 Euro bezahlt.

Ein sehr nettes griechisches Ehepaar, alles sauber und sehr leckeres Essen und immer freundlich, super und einfach leckeren Krautsalat, den Rest muss man selber rausfinden. Weiter so.

Gyros, wird immer seltener bei all den Döner Buden. Hier der beste Gyros den ich kenne. Auch die anderen Gerichte lecker zubereitet.

Leider war das Essen bei der letzten Bestellung sehr schlecht. Das Fleisch war größtenteils knorpelig, zäh und nicht genießbar. In Folge der schlechten Qualität habe ich bei En Elladi angerufen, um entsprechendes Feedback zu geben. Hier wurde sehr gereizt reagiert und einfach aufgelegt. Eigentlich haben wir immer gerne hier Essen geholt, aber das wird in Zukunft, aufgrund des unprofessionellen Umgangs mit Kritik nicht wieder vorkommen. Schade!

Toller Gyros, habe den Laden erst vor kurzem Entdeckt und komme jetzt öfter. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist absolut in Ordnung. Das Personal ist auch bei hohen Temperaturen immer nett und freundlich.

Unfreundlich und die Currywurst war kalt. Dafür waren die Pommes super!!!

Essen war gut. Bedienung war freundlich. Es gibt eine kundentoilette Punkt einen Punkt Abzug dafür, dass es kein Falafel gab.

Leckeren und preiswerten Salat gegessen. Nette und lockere Atmosphäre.

Die Frau ist wirklich freundlich und bereitet die Sachen lecker zu, aber der Herr ist absolut unhöflich und ein richtiges A****. Hat ein Gericht einfach nur schlecht zubereite und eine zuatat quasi fast ganz weggelassen, als ich darauf aufmerksam gemacht habe, wurde ich absolut unverschämt behandelt und die Zutat wurde vor meinen augen von der Karte gestrichen... Unter aller sau!

Ein Imbiss den man Empfehlen kann. Waren nun Umzugsbedingt 3x dort und werden auch weiterhin "En Elladie" aufsuchen. Die Portionen sind großzügig und es hat bisher immer sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Preise sind für die Portionen sehr angemessen.Vielen Dank dafür❗

Mein 2. Besuch dort, ich habe jedesmal vor Ort im Lokal gegessen. Gyros Teller mit Salat oder Gyros Pita haben sehr gut geschmeckt. Frisch zubereitet. Das Lokal sauber und das Personal freundlich. Ich komme gern wieder.
