I've been in PB for years and have been a part of it. If you're nearby, you can't help but pick something up. Always happy to come back. And it's always very busy.

Very tasty food and friendly staff. The staff even tried to teach me Greek.

For the first and last time!!! I can't understand the good reviews... We were there yesterday and waited an hour for our order, even though it wasn't busy. The customers after us got their food within 10 minutes, so we were very disappointed. The food didn't taste particularly good either! Canned mushrooms don't really belong in the dish!!! I love tipping, but yesterday was the first time I didn't. The waitress pulled a long face and didn't even say goodbye to us.

The best that Greece has to offer, outstanding with heart ❤️ and hand and dedication, the product is very good and the right size, top price-performance and quality. If you are in town, please visit this gyro grill. As a child of my youth, it was my meeting place for culture and good food after work. Now, after moving, we come to Paderborn every moment, over 200km away, to eat and enjoy it once a month. Thank you for being there and for keeping the tradition alive from generation to generation.

The last and oldest gyro grill in Paderborn. I've been a customer for over 40 years and have always been very happy with the gyros. You can also get a good currywurst there, or a gyro with a topping is also delicious. The gyro soup is still homemade and of good quality. Great staff, and the boss is the best.

Whenever I visit Paderborn, Ilios is a must. Best gyro place for miles around. I'd be happy if we had one like it in Berlin...

The restaurant is quite cozy, the food is delicious, the meat is soft and tasty, the portion is quite large for me. About €16 for 1 person and beer. The restaurant is quite famous and long-standing in Paderborn for Greek food. Everyone coming to Paderborn should try. Thank you! ❤️

The lady in the service is very unfriendly

Loud like a bar, wobbly chairs – it fits the atmosphere to a certain extent, but what's completely unacceptable is the service. The waitresses were passive-aggressive, annoyed by every question, and not at all friendly. No smile, no welcome. Exactly what you don't need in a restaurant like this. Unfortunately, I absolutely don't recommend it.

For over 20 years, my wife and I have been coming to Bistro Ilios (50 km drive) 3-4 times a year, combined with a stroll through Paderborn. The service has always been good and the food was delicious. On Sunday, May 11th, we weren't satisfied for the first time! We ordered 2 gyros, fries, and coleslaw. Half of the oval plate was coleslaw! The other half was gyros and fries. In the past, the portions were larger, and there was more meat. This is the first time in 20 years that I haven't been full! The food was always brought out really quickly, after about 5 minutes. This time we waited at least 20 minutes. All these years, the gyros have been nice and crispy. This time there was nothing crispy at all....a real shame. We'll definitely be back....and hope that the poor quality was a one-off slip-up.

Das Ilios in der Heiersstraße ist mehr als ein Gyros-Grill. Es gehört zu Paderborn wie der Dom. Schon vor 50 Jahren war die triefende Gyros-Pita zum Wochenende nach dem Besuch des Programm-Kinos (am liebsten ein Film der Monty Python Truppe) Pflicht. Und wenn man diese dann (zu fünft im alten VW-Käfer, damit dieser dann für eine Woche nach Knoblauch und Fett stank) verzehrt hatte, ging es weiter ins Red House, Passt oder KuKoz. KuKoz, Red House, Passt und Programm-Kino gibt es nicht mehr, aber das Ilios hat überstanden, wie ich nach über 35 Jahren Leben im Ruhrgebiet feststellen konnte. Und die Qualität der Gyros-Pita hat sich nicht verschlechtert. Für mich ist das Ilios immer noch einer der besten Gyros-Imbisse, wenn einen in Paderborn beim Einkaufen der kleine Hunger packt. Der Umweg in die Heiersstraße lohnt immer, auch wenn das Ilios jetzt zum „Bistro“ geworden ist. Auf die nächsten 50 Jahre.

I have known Ilios since its opening year. A lot of time has passed since then, but Gyros Pita has always remained the same and the staff has always been nice and friendly over the decades, even though the shop is usually really full. Every other time I'm back in my home country, I have Gyros Pita, because Gyros = Ilios!

One of the worst restaurants I have ever been to in my life. It's supposedly a Greek, but it's a kind of kebab with Greek sauce. Dirty place. People go because they serve a lot, but the food is not good. I will not return

My childhood story connects me with this, for me, legendary Gyros Pita. In the 80s, our father visited us once a month and then we went here. We have found our way here occasionally over the past few decades and most recently this weekend. As usual, the family is friendly and accommodating, the Gyros Pita still tastes very tasty, no other Pita in the area comes close to this quality. I will always enjoy getting my pita here 👍

Helena, where do you eat the best gyros? Here at Illios!!!! No matter whether with Ziki or sheep's cheese, unfortunately it's TOP. Crunchy, greasy, tasty and makes you thirsty all night long. Bomb!

I've been eating the gyros at Ilios for over 40 years!! It was always a treat. Only the last two times (in January 2025) did the meat quality deteriorate significantly. My husband even had a small bone in his flesh. I'm already disappointed and am thinking about eating something at Ilios again.

Leider das Fleisch hat nachgelassen. Kleinere Portionen, Fleisch hat Schwein Nachgeschmack und total ausgetrocknet weil größere Mengen vorgeschnitten und in Behälter warm gehalten werden. Diese Beschreibung trifft den Ilios am Frankfurterweg in Paderborn.

We stopped at this little restaurant on the way through. It was well attended, but we were lucky to get a spot. We were served nicely and the food came quite quickly. The portions were sufficient and everything tasted really good. The meat was super juicy and the rice tasted very good. The price/performance is top!! As soon as a table was cleared it was already occupied again, I think that speaks for itself.

Super delicious food. It's worth it every time. And the prices are still the same as 4 years ago. If I had to make a recommendation in Paderborn it would be Ilios. Must have!!

Always worth a visit! You usually have to be lucky to get a seat in the bistro, but the wait is worth it. Best gyro! We often pick up something here or visit the bistro when we are nearby. Absolute recommendation!

For me, Ilios is and remains the number one when it comes to a good, delicious gyros in Paderborn! The portions are decent, the prices are reasonable and no matter how busy the store is, the staff is always nice and friendly. Here’s to hopefully many more delicious years!!

We always find Illios very tasty, whether it's the pitta on hand or on a plate in the snack bar. Fresh salad, fresh tzatziki and really good meat. Overall, they are large portions that will fill you up. The sit-down snack bar is usually very busy and in the evening it is difficult to get a seat, which is an indication of how tasty others find it too. In the guest area there is no smell of food being prepared, unlike next door where you get the food to pick up. The waiter was actually very friendly. Unfortunately, the question answered what was on the Gyros Special so that "everything" would be on it, which didn't help to imagine what was on it. We also had to wait a long time for a menu. Our drinks were almost empty before dinner and when they were empty we had little opportunity to ask for more unless we called across the store. But since the food is so convincingly delicious, we also like to turn a blind eye to the service ;)

Ich kenne den Imbiss schon seit meinen Studienzeiten (bis 1987 habe ich in Paderborn studiert). Schon damals gab es dort das beste Gyros in ganz Paderborn. Jedes Mal, wenn ich Paderborn bin, muss ich dort vorbei. Die Qualität hat sich über die Jahre nicht geändert. Ich kann einen Besuch immer wieder empfehlen. Die weiteste Anreise lohnt sich.

In 45 years I have not encountered a better Gyros Pitta. And whenever I return to Paderborn, this snack bar stays true to its tradition and never disappoints me. Addendum October 5th, 2024: Everything is temporary...unfortunately the taste has changed completely...still okay...but rather tasty standard

Intentionally mini plates and then maximum price, which ends up being half portions. Wucha is therefore not recommended!

I only ordered 1 dish to take away, everything was wrong with it, unfortunately I only noticed it when I got home. Very disappointing

They don't speak German or don't listen, I ordered without tomatoes and had a bunch of tomatoes, I ordered with double onions and had no onions at all. There wasn't much going on at all so you could do anything wrong. All in all a disaster

Have been there many times to pick up food. But the quality has decreased significantly. Fries cold and rather soggy, the meat not really cooked through and very greasy.

Hello. I've been coming to this shop for 90 years. Very good food, of course. Very nice people. I can only recommend it.

After about 55 minutes the food was finally served at the table. My gyros plate was about half filled with coleslaw, I was expecting a side dish. The small amount of fries was drowned in mayonnaise. The gyro meat was not well cooked, not cross and gristly. My companion's baked feta cheese was drowned in cheap gada cheese. After we made negative comments about the (unfinished) food when paying, we were given a waiver of drinks, but we can't give a good recommendation.
