Most of the photos of the location provided here are outdated, as the restaurant has moved and is now located two doors down. The space is now significantly smaller and, in places, quite cramped. The menu is straightforward. I would describe the selection as average. All of our ordered dishes were delicious, fresh, and prepared with love. Contrary to other reviews, the service was consistently friendly and fast.

This company deleted my review, claiming it was "defamation." So I won't say anything more, but I'll leave the review they deserve.

Small, friendly, typically Italian. On August 23, 2025, we visited Il Grano with a group of 11 people, having made a reservation. The small restaurant looked rather unassuming from the outside. But that was about to change. A beautifully set table awaited us. Pellegrino and still Aqua Panna, along with delicious lukewarm handmade Grossini. Two fine antipasti plates as appetizers were a lovely way to start the evening. The 11 people enjoyed a variety of dishes à la carte. The kitchen was a masterpiece. From the perfectly seasoned sea bass fillet, seared on the skin, with al dente ratatouille, to turkey steak alla pizzaiola, penne arabiata with Gorgonzola, and a huge Il Grano salad with turkey strips. Everyone at the table was completely satisfied. A fine chocolate dessert variation and classic Cassata Siciliana ice cream. Excellent espresso with a lovely crema, a corretto with grappa. Very reasonable drink prices. Chardonnay poured well by the glass, a good-quality Primitivo, and a bottle of Lugana perfectly chilled. Everything was perfect. In addition to praise for the kitchen, a bravo to the young waitress. Always very friendly and attentive, competent yet unobtrusive. I'd be happy to come back!

We've been here several times. Whether it's pizza, steak, or fish, the food is simply top-notch. The service is also very good. Definitely worth recommending.

Came to this place to check if it was good and Im glad to say it was amazing. Even the cook had the chance to came out and ask everyone if the food was good, as a cook myself i really liked this... Food was great (pasta al dente, fresh seefood) service also great! Kann mann nur empfehlen:)

There were seven of us as a stag or hen party, and we had a reservation for 7 p.m. We waited an hour and a half for our food (with 10-minute warnings in between, but then we still had to wait another 30 minutes). Then they said everything would arrive at the same time. I then had to wait so long alone that the rest was almost finished. In that time, however, it was apparently necessary to serve a group of men Aperol. A family who arrived 30 minutes after us, without a reservation, also received their food a bit before us. The food was good, and they gave us a free water as an apology. Reason:( "The chef can't do it alone," but then you should think about what to do if you can't manage it in such a small restaurant. In the end, we were offered a limoncello, but it wasn't in the house anymore. 🤦🏼‍♀️ You check the stock before offering something to customers, right? Conclusion: good food and reasonable prices, but given the management and wait times, I'm considering coming again.

For us, this is a clear recommendation in Würzburg. An absolute favorite restaurant with the friendliest service and top-notch food. The salmon noodles are a 10/10!

We went there Sunday evening with our family (five of us) after a long day of traveling and, despite the late hour and without a reservation, received extremely friendly service. Everything is very stylish and clean, with a rustic Italian feel, and despite the limited menu, there's something for everyone, and special requests are possible. The food was fantastically delicious, the salad filling and a feast for the eyes. We also had pizza bread, something we haven't had anywhere else: fluffy, warm, and superbly seasoned with Italian herbs and olive oil. The pizzas were also exceptional: the dough, similar to pizza bread, was fluffy and very well seasoned, so you'd even eat the crust. The toppings were moist, perfectly balanced, and rounded off with olive oil – tastes of Italy. Everything was freshly prepared and served promptly. At the end of the evening, the chef (chef) personally bid us farewell, with friendly jokes with the children and a few personal words. Thank you for this last evening of our vacation and I highly recommend it!

Wir kamen spontan an den kleinen italienischen Restaurant vorbei und haben im Außenbereich einen Tisch bekommen. Das Servicepersonal war absolut freundlich und zuvorkommend. Unserer Vorspeise Carpaccio und Vitello Tonnato, gefolgt von einer Fischplatte und Wolfsbarsch waren sehr lecker! Authentisch wie beim kleinen Italiener in Italien am Meer - nur eben in Würzburg am Main!

Wir waren mit der Familie dort aufgrund der guten Bewertung, die wohl noch aus der Vergangenheit in einem anderen und größeren Restaurant basierte. Uns fielen schon zu Beginn die ungebügelten Tischdecken auf. Das Bruscetta kam nach 45 Minuten in Form von Pizzabrot. Alle Hauptgerichte kamen nach ca. 1,5 Stunden und schmeckten alle sehr farblos. Dafür waren die Portionen sehr groß. Wir hatten Glück, dass wir die ersten Gäste waren. Alle weiteren wurden nach uns bedient. Nachbestellungen mit Getränken erfolgten dagegen zügig.

Der äußere Eindruck: Tischdecken, Blume mittig und ein kleines schnuckeliges Restaurant. Der nette Herr empfing uns und wir durften uns dann einen Platz aussuchen. Wir waren die ersten Gäste. Mein Stuhlsitz war mittig, vorne braun verschmutzt. Die Farbe der Stühle: Creme. Die kleinen Vasen hatten 2 Blümchen die verwelkt waren. Alle, auf jeden der Tische. Die übergebene Speisekarte, war übersichtlich. Wir brauchten nicht lange, denn viel Auswahl war nicht. Es war italienische Musik an und nun setzte ein Kind mit ganz lautem Schreien ein, es war kein Weinen, es schrie im Kommandoton Worte, die wir nicht verstanden, obwohl die Mutter daneben saß. Beide saßen zwischen Theke und Kücheneingang. Kinder sind definitiv wundervoll, wir haben 2 Söhne und 3 Enkel. Echt super. Aber in einem Restaurant, das sehr klein ist mit italienischer Musik gemischt.... spielen wir sie ruhig;-)) Wir konnten ziemlich schnell bestellen: Pizza mit Sardellen, Käse etc. + Pizza mit scharfer Salami, Käse etc. + Chianti + Wasser Aqua Panna. Nach der Bestellung war lange warten angesagt. Warum? Konnten wir vorerst nicht ergründen, denn an zwei Pizzas mit wenig drauf konnte es nicht liegen. Nach ca. 40 Min. sahen wir, dass der Herr im Service gleichzeitig in der Küche war. Nun konnten wir die verschmutzte, schwarze Kleidung des Herrn zuordnen. Das waren Auswirkungen vom Vortag als Koch. Er war da und dann lange verschwunden usw. Mittlerweile gingen auch Gäste wieder. Tja, was war jetzt das beste? Das beste war der Pizzateig. Der Belag? Meiner Meinung nach war der Käse Formkäse und der weitere Belag hatte wenig Geschmack. Die Pfeffermühle kam zum Einsatz.

It was a wonderful evening... The service was very friendly and authentic; we waited a long time for our food, but it was all the better for it! The long wait was due to a staff shortage. A definite recommendation!

We ordered pizza and salad - the food was edible - the salt and pepper shakers and the vinegar and oil bottles were smeared with cheese residue - I don't understand the other 5-star reviews - service despite not being busy - everything took forever.......

Apart from the wine, everything was a complete disaster! An arrogant waiter who made presumptuous remarks. We waited an hour and a half for the food. When we asked, we were told that he hadn't looked at the clock but it would be right there - an apology, far from it. Then came overcooked frutti di mare pasta and carbonara. STARTER The antipasti platter was OK. Pizza too, but not good enough for a wannabe fine Italian restaurant. The atmosphere was loud, small and, dubiously, our feet were standing in water towards the end - the source is unknown. We were frequent guests before we moved to this location and were always satisfied - the boss was great too. I think there has probably been a change of ownership here, it's not like it used to be.

Bis auf den Wein, war Alles eine reine Katastrophe! Ein arroganter Ober, der anmaßende Bemerkungen ablässt, 1 1/2 Stunden aufs Essen gewartet , auf Nachfrage bekommt man dann zur Antwort, dass er jetzt nicht auf die Uhr geguckt hätte aber kommt gleich, Entschuldigung weit gefehlt. Dann kamen verkochte Frutti di Mare Pasta und Carbonara. VORSPEISE Antipasti Platte war ok. Pizza auch , aber für einen Möchtegern - Edelitaliener nicht ausreichend. Ambiente laut, klein und an den Füssen standen wir dubioser Weise gegen Ende im Wasser, Quelle nicht nachvollziehbar. Wir waren vor dem Umzug in diese Lokalität öfter mal Gäste und immer zufrieden, auch der Chef war früher mega. Ich denke hier hat wahrscheinlich ein Inhaberwechsel stattgefunden nicht vergleichbar zu früher.

Leider waren die Teller dreckig und der Salat machte den Eindruck nicht mehr ganz frisch zu sein. Die Pizza war lecker und das Bruschetta auch. Leider wurde das Fenster im Restaurant erst auf Nachfrage geschlossen , da es allen kalt war.

Habe hier ein tolles, italienisches Essen genießen dürfen. Auch nach dem Umzug des Il Grano, hat es nichts von seinem Charm verloren. Komme immer gerne her, wenn ich beruflich in Würzburg bin. Super Service und wechselnde Karte. Absolute Empfehlung!!

A highly recommended restaurant. The space is small and the seating is cramped, but it is very comfortable and the service is warm. The place was probably a bar before. Once you manage to get a table, everything is great. The appetizer platter is to die for. Everything fresh and very tasty. Same with the other dishes!

I ate pizza here during a conference. They pizza was good. The base is nice and crispy. For my taste it could have had a bit more spices and cheese. The service was friendly. When the weather was nice we were able to sit outside but it is right on the street.

We were there at around 9:30 p.m. and asked by phone if there was space/the kitchen was still open. Kitchen has open space is also perfect. After a short time we also got our drink, 4 times limoncello spirtz (not on the menu, price no idea?) the drink was incredibly sour and almost inedible. When we asked for some sparkling water for the ladies, a plastic bottle was placed on the table. A short time later it was announced that pizza would be out today because the pizza dough was empty. (No problem) Pasta was ordered. Took a relatively long time, about 1 hour if not longer. Pasta looked very good and was also good in terms of taste and appearance. What wasn't so nice visually were the large filaments of dust hanging from the ceiling in the restaurant. The limoncello, which was too strong, was taken off the bill but the bartender was reprimanded in Italian in front of everyone (not professional) and overall it was unfortunate. Food was still good

This Italian restaurant is highly recommended! We had bruschetta and vegetarian tagliatelle. The food was delicious, the owner and staff are really super friendly. If I lived in Würzburg, I would be there regularly!

The best pizza we've eaten in a long time. The dough is outstanding! The salad is fresh, the dressing is homemade. Quality at a good price!

Despite a reservation there was no table available. Dirty chairs were then brought from somewhere. After waiting some more we were able to order and after another 1.5 hours we still hadn't received the food. Only after asking again did the food come after another 20 minutes. Service very bad and rude.

Wir waren an Weihnachten bei il Grano – und was soll ich sagen: es war einfach nur genial! Das Essen war der Hammer – super authentisch, frisch und einfach richtig, richtig lecker. Man merkt sofort: Hier wird mit Herz gekocht. Der Inhaber und seine Töchter sind der Wahnsinn – so herzlich, witzig und sympathisch. Man fühlt sich sofort wohl, als wäre man Teil der Familie. Es wurde viel gelacht, erzählt und einfach eine tolle Stimmung verbreitet. Für unsere Gruppe (wir waren zu viert) hat der Chef ganz spontan ein paar italienische Spezialitäten abseits der Karte gezaubert – individuell auf unsere Wünsche abgestimmt. Diese persönliche Note war echt etwas Besonderes! Und obwohl wir nach den Hauptgerichten eigentlich schon satt waren, kam er zum Schluss noch mit einer gemischten Dessertplatte zum Teilen – weil er meinte, „ein bisschen Dolce geht immer“. Und ja, er hatte recht! Fazit: Wer italienisches Essen liebt und dabei echte Gastfreundschaft erleben will, sollte hier unbedingt vorbeischauen. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Un grand restaurant italien de par sa cuisine raffinée, savoureuse et un accueil remarquable. Le chef de cuisine vient vous voir en personne pour vous faire apprécier son excellent travail. Très petit restaurant mais très grande cuisine. Nous y retournerons sans aucune hésitation. Bon rapport qualité prix. Bref, nous avons passé un super moment.

Sweet little pizzeria in the heart of Würzburg. We spontaneously got a table for two people. Food and drinks were great. The service was also very nice and accommodating. The Tricolore and Pepperoniwurst pizzas are a clear recommendation. The dough is very light and the topping is a real dream.

Anyone who gives a point here has no idea about good Italian food. We had a super tasty starter. I had pizza with pepperoni sausage and my wife had vitello tonati. The wines are also very good. Price and performance are very good. Great start to the weekend. The service was super nice.

Wir haben trotz Vorbestellung mehr als 20 Minuten auf unseren Tisch gewartet. Die Wartezeit im Eiskalten wurde uns zwar durch ein halbes Gläschen Prosecco versüßt und später wurden wir in einen ungeheizten Nebenraum geführt, trotzdem sehr ärgerlich. Endlich drinnen im mehr als eng gestellten Lokal ( man konnte sich kaum von seinem Platz aus nach außen durchwinden) erhielten wir nach angemessener Wartezeit 5 der 6 bestellten Essen. Erst beim Servieren wurde mitgeteilt, dass das 6. Essen leider aus ist - Pech für Person 6. Mehrfach wurde versichert, es wieder gut zu machen, was nicht wirklich erfolgte. Bestellte Getränke wurden vergessen, es gab weder Campari noch Pannacotta ( alles aus), das große Wasser wurde in 2 kleinen Flaschen gebracht, fand sich dann aber ( leider erst zu spät bemerkt) preislich als große Flasche mit 6,50 auf der Rechnung. Das Essen war insgesamt lecker, konnte aber leider nicht ausgleichen, dass das sehr kleine Lokal völlig überbelegt wird und es durch das Essen in 2 Schichten immer wieder zu Zeitproblemen und ärgerlichen Verzögerungen kommt.

The food in this restaurant in Würzburg was so tasty and I’m still buzzing about it! Everything’s made with super fresh ingredients, and you can totally tell. I had this pasta with truffles that was basically flavor heaven, and their pizza? Absolute perfection. Went there during a family trip in Würzburg (kids loved it too) and the owner and staff were so friendly—like, genuinely warm and welcoming, made the whole meal even better. They even cooked a little Schnitzel for our dog, on the house!! Wow! If you’re into fresh, tasty eats, and love to feel welcome, you’ve got to check this place out. 10/10, already plotting our return! Thank you Il Grano!

Wir waren heute zu Gast bei Il GRANO, bestellt haben wir um 18:00 Antipasti, 1 Pizza und 1 Pasta. Die Antipasti war gut, leider kam das Brot dazu erst 10min später. Als um 19:00 noch kein Hauptgang da war, wurde uns erst auf Nachfrage mitgeteilt, dass die Pizza heute aus ist, weil zu viel auf Volt zum liefern bestellt wurde. Statt der Pizza haben wir dann Panna Cotta bestellt. Um 19:15 kam dann die leider verkochte und geschmacklose Pasta und ein Teller mit Tiramisu und Eis. Auf Nachfrage ob das Panna Cotta noch kommt kam als Antwort der Nachtisch ist aufs Haus. Erst nach 3mal fragen wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass auch das Panna Cotta aus ist. Das Speisen ausverkauft sind, kann natürlich passieren, aber wie damit umgegangen wurde war nicht professionell. Es kamen keine klaren Aussagen und Bestellungen wurden aufgenommen, obwohl offensichtlich klar war, dass es das Essen so gar nicht mehr gab. Die Situation war dem Chef sichtlich unangenehm, daher der kostenlose Dessertteller. Unser Fazit: für uns war das der erste und letzte Besuch in diesem Lokal.

Starter was very tasty. However cold. We still waited over 30 minutes for our starter. For no reason. There were no warm starters. We waited over an hour for the main course. We said that we “only” had 1.5 hours because we still had theater tickets. We then left without even getting our main course. The waiter didn't even apologize and said we should have brought more than 2 hours of time. Impossible.

Excellent food with an Italian atmosphere. Antipasti with vitello tonnato and capaccio ruccola and fresh vegetables are simply wonderful. The limoncello on the house is also top quality. Needs repeating. Plus the parking space for the motorhome right next to it on the Main. A gift 🥰

We were looking for a pizzeria in Würzburg on the way back from a skiing holiday. Because of the good reviews, I reserved a table by phone in good time. When we arrived then the shock: A very small restaurant, we got the last free table in the corridor to the toilet and kitchen. I wanted to order tagliatelle with salmon from the “weekly menu”. The nice waitress asked if spaghetti would also work. So I chose a pizza. This was very dry, far too little tomato sauce. The knife was very dull. With all due respect: Never again, neither the ambience nor the food were satisfactory.

Super Service! Super Essen ! Super Ambiente Mein Mann und ich waren Mitte Dezember im Lokal Il Grano zu Besuch. Das Essen war unbeschreiblich gut, ich habe selten so gut gegessen ! Der Koch brachte das Gericht persönlich an den Tisch und erzählte, dass er es mit viel Liebe zubereitet habe. Als ich probierte, konnte man die Hingabe wirklich herausschmecken – jeder Bissen war ein Genuss. Der Service war schnell und nett und haben uns perfekt beraten für eine Flasche Wein. Das Restaurant überzeugt mit einem gemütlichen, stilvollen Ambiente.Ein perfekter Ort, um den Abend zu genießen.

Unfortunately I can't understand all the 5 star reviews. We were there with a large group and the first problems arose when ordering. Not all of the dishes on the menu could be ordered. Unfortunately, the service wasn't up to scratch and we had to wait forever after the starter before the order for the main courses was taken. Unfortunately, my main course was so bland and boring that I didn't even eat half of it. As compensation I was offered a drink on the house, which unfortunately I never received. I'm really very sorry, but unfortunately the restaurant didn't impress me with either the service or the taste.

Food was very good, pizza like in Italy. The selection isn't that huge and pasta dishes only come without Bolognese sauce. All in all, very good food.

The food was OK, I could have done with a slightly larger portion. There was actually no pasta dish on the regular menu, only on the daily menu. Instead of the noodles with beef strips and chanterelles, the dish was only available without mushrooms, which were out. All right. There was something wrong with the beer too. And there were also several desserts. It was actually a lot for a Thursday evening. I like to eat a side salad, but I think 7.50 euros is really cheeky. The young waiter probably didn't learn that, otherwise he probably wouldn't have been so unfriendly. No sorry, unfortunately out or please and thank you. You don't really feel comfortable there as a guest. Only the boss, who came by to bring something, was quite friendly. Lastly, something that you actually learn first in the catering industry and I expect: that the whole table gets the food at the same time and not two people start eating and two have to wait another 10 minutes for their meal. Forgivable with a large table, but not with 4 people for me. Sorry, but will not come back or recommend

I wouldn't recommend anyone to eat here. There was only one card available, and you only got a second one after 10 minutes of asking. In addition, we were simply forgotten; only after an hour of waiting and a polite request did the buscetta arrive, which all of us tasted incredibly bad. Guests who arrived later had already received their dessert by that time. If you have an empty drink, it stays empty - you have to request it yourself. The lasagne and rigatoni were extremely solid, nothing special. A highlight was that the neighboring table was cleared away even though wallets, jackets, etc. were still there. Unfortunately it was a very mixed evening and the dishes weren't worth the money, you can definitely eat better Italian food in Würzburg!

Wir waren kürzlich für einen Ausflug in Würzburg und sind abends erstmalig in der Pizzeria Il Grano beim Essen gewesen. Wir haben uns für eine gemischte Fischplatte für 2 Personen entschieden. Sie war einfach hervorragend! Die Kombination aus verschiedenen Fischsorten und den Beilagen war ein echtes Geschmackserlebnis. Auch der Service war sehr freundlich, sodass man sich direkt wohlgefühlt hat. Allerdings hat es leider sehr lange gedauert, bis wir unser Essen am Tisch hatten. Der Chef verwies auf den Personalmangel. Dennoch können wir diese Pizzeria jedem empfehlen, der gute italienische Küche liebt. Wir kommen definitiv wieder, wenn wir mal wieder in Würzburg sind!

Klein aber fein! Ich war heute nach langem im neuen il Grano und man muss sagen nach wie vor alles wie gehabt der Service ist auf Zack und sehr zuvorkommend die Küche ebenso. Haben Pizza gegessen und die schmeckt einfach köstlich der koche in der Küche namens Angelo hat für meine Kinder ein gratis Dessert serviert wo sich meine Kinder ziemlich gefreut haben. Wir kommen wieder vielen Dank an das Team Grano

Good Italian restaurant. The food is delicious, especially the tiramisu is recommended. The portion size is more than sufficient. The price-performance ratio is right. Very nice atmosphere with a view of the Main and the Marienberg Fortress. Unfortunately, the tables outside are on the sidewalk, so passers-by keep walking past while eating. The service was very friendly. The toilets clean. Card payment is possible.

A REAL Italian that goes off the beaten track of “everything with tomato sauce”. Let yourself be guided by Angelo who can cook dishes according to your desires, such as calamariti con pasta al olio 👍. A little off-center in a not very touristy area, however if you want to escape with culinary flavors, this place is perfect 😉
