Sehr schönes Restaurant Pizza war lecker und wir mussten auch nicht lange warten. Bis Ende September gibt es auch eine Fotoausstellung von mir also schaut vorbei .

Sehr schönes altes Gebäude, prächtig und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Unkompliziertes Einchecken, sehr freundlicher Service. Liebevoll angerichtetes Frühstück. Insgesamt sehr empfehlenswert!

Ich war dort nur Essen, war gut. Über das Hotel kann ich nichts sagen, aber das Gebäude ist ein prunkvolles, ehemaliges Domizil einer Augsburger Industriefamilie, was auch heute noch zu erkennen ist. Netter Biergarten, sehr groß. Preise wie überall zur Zeit. Meine Lasagne kostete 16 Euro.

Der Aufenthalt war leider insgesamt enttäuschend. Positiv zu erwähnen ist, dass das Haus von außen einen wirklich schönen Eindruck macht. Unser Zimmer befand sich im zweiten Stock. Leider fiel bereits beim Betreten ein sehr unangenehmer, teilweise kaum auszuhaltender Geruch auf – besonders im Badezimmer war dieser extrem stark. Die Möbel sind beschädigt und insgesamt wenig gepflegt. Auch die Ausstattung ließ zu wünschen übrig: Nachtlichter funktionierten nicht und es waren kaum bzw. keine Steckdosen vorhanden, was sehr unpraktisch war. Ein weiterer Minuspunkt waren die Kissen – diese kann man kaum als solche bezeichnen, sie fühlten sich eher wie harte Bretter an und waren sehr unbequem. Die Matratzen hingegen waren in Ordnung. Zudem war es zeitweise recht laut, was die Erholung erschwerte. Das Essen im Restaurant war insgesamt nur durchschnittlich und nichts Besonderes. Besonders enttäuschend war, dass die Nudeln stark zerkocht waren – gerade bei einem italienischen Restaurant sollte so etwas eigentlich nicht passieren. Auch das Frühstück war leider nicht überzeugend. Wurst und Käse lagen ungekühlt und nicht abgedeckt bereits längere Zeit (ca. zwei Stunden) offen auf Tellern. Die Auswahl war insgesamt eher dürftig: Es gab keine wirkliche Brotauswahl, lediglich aufgebackene Brötchen. Die Gurken wirkten bereits angetrocknet und nicht mehr frisch. Zudem hatte man den Eindruck, dass Gäste unterschiedlich behandelt werden. Auch der Empfang war leider nicht überzeugend. Das Personal wirkte unfreundlich und der Umgangston beim Check-in war eher grob. ein gewisser Mindeststandard sollte erfüllt sein. Die vielen positiven Bewertungen kann ich persönlich daher nicht nachvollziehen.

Das Essen schmeckt leider absolut nicht. Also 3 Gerichte, die Tortellini Schinken, Sahne gehen garnicht. Soße wie Wasser. Spaghetti Bolognese, Soße auch wie Wasser, Nudeln überkocht. Lasagne viel zu weich, zu flüssig und alle Gerichte kaum gesalzen. Kriegt von uns echt eine 1/10, garnicht empfehlenswert.

Wunderschönes Hotel, sehr sehr sauber, authentisch eingerichtet. Unser Zimmer hatte sehr hohe Decken (wie es sich im Barockstil gehört), es war super groß und das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder !!

IL GLADIATORE verbirgt sich in einer sehr ansprechende Villa im italienischen Stil, die aber so langsam in die Jahre kommt. Erwähnenswert ist der sehr lobenswerte und freundlicher Service, das ausreichende Frühstück mit dem besten Kaffee, den wir bisher in einem Hotel genießen durften, gutes Essen im stilvollen Ambiente und die kostenlose Parkmöglichkeit direkt auf dem hauseigenen Parkplatz. Nur leider lässt der Zustand des Zimmers und des Bades sehr zu wünschen übrig. Wir hatten im oberen Stock ein Zimmer mit Dachschrägen, das ausreichend groß war und auch geschützt vom Straßenlärm. Leider gab es Risse in den Wänden, an denen der Putz abfällt, Schimmel in den Duschfugen und ein Zahnputzbecher samt Wandhalterung fehlte. Die Luftabsaugung im Bad war defekt, das war bei großem Geschäft ein sehr belastendes Problem, da im Bad kein Fenster war und somit die schlechte Luft in den Wohnbereich zog. Unser Vorschlag : Das Zimmer und Bad sollten in der nächsten Zeit grundsaniert werden. Das Zimmer, ausgerüstetet mit TV, war groß und praktisch eingerichtet, wir sind keine Freunde von viel Schnickschnack, für uns reichte es völlig aus. Wir hatten 2 Nächte gebucht und würden gerne wieder buchen, da die Lage sehr ruhig ist und die Wege zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten im Augsburger Stadtzentrum einfach mit der Straßenbahn zu bewältigen sind, aber bis dahin müsste eine Renovierung des Zimmers abgeschlossen sein... Zum Schluß ein herzliches Dankeschön für die freundliche Bewirtung und wir wünschen dem Team viel Erfolg in der Zukunft und allen zukünftigen Gästen einen erholsamen Aufenthalt😊 👍

Wir waren erst 3 mal beim essen und sind jedes Mal angenehm überrascht. Das essen ist sehr gut, das Personal freundlich und die alten italienischen Schlager in Hintergrund schaffen eine gemütliche Atmosphäre. Man muss schon ein bisschen Zeit mitbringen, aber eigentlich sollten wir alle gemütlich Speisen. Wir freuen uns auf unseren nächsten Besuch.

Wir waren heute mit 28 Personen (vorangemeldet) beim Essen hier und haben über 2,5h auf unser Essen gewartet. Der restliche Raum wurde bedient und wir wurden zum Großteil ignoriert. Auf Nachfrage nach 2,5h kam die Antwort, das sie nichts dafür können wie die Küche das Essen zubereitet und es leider noch ein bisschen dauert. Was soll ich sagen, unterirdischer Service, da kann auch gutes Essen nicht ändern. Edit: Essen ist so 50/50, ein paar hatten Glück (ich leider nicht). Von Überkochen Nudeln bis hin zur Pizza die ohne Geschmack ist hatten wir alles. Ein paar andere hatten wie gesagt Glück mit dem Essen. Wer auf Glücksspiel und schlechten Service steht ist hier gut aufgehoben.

Booked through Booking.com. Received an attic room. It was a complete disaster. Light broken, faucet leaking, no plug in the bathroom. TV without any decent channels like RTL. The minibar was a joke. I've had better breakfasts. Public transport is easily accessible by bus (line 35). It goes to the city center. Highly recommended for dinner: pizzeria. We won't be coming back. There are better rooms available. Booking.com customers are apparently treated differently.

We're holding our wine tasting in the cellar again, our customers are very satisfied, and the staff and kitchen are top-notch once more. Another fantastic wine tasting in 2025 – I can give it five stars again. The food and service were superb. Thanks to the team and the chef...👍

A perfect hotel for a family visit to Augsburg. A manor-like building with Italian restaurant on first floor and rooms on second and third floors. Beautiful wood interior with large windows and outdoor terrace. The rooms were very comfortable, especially the cushioned but firm beds and comforters and large but very soft pillows. Heating in the winter and AC in summer. Bathrooms have strong water pressure with hot and cold on demand. The best part of the stay was the people and the service. The staff took great care of us, they made our 3 year old very happy with some extra waffles and saying hello to her. The restaurant is very good, pizza and Italian with some healthier salad dishes and soup and delicious coffee and alcohol based drinks. Breakfast was a small buffet including an egg and yoghurt and fruit with different breads and spreads. Very reasonable price all around.

I gave a 2 Star review for the Restaurant, they tried to get it taken down as „Diffamierung“, so not only bad service but also dishonest!

A beautiful villa, lovingly restored in the Italian (Roman) style. The rooms are very spacious and have very high ceilings. The food is excellent, and the staff is prompt, friendly, and helpful.

We booked two nights through CHECK24 and were given the smallest attic room, room 10. It was very cramped and the furniture was old, and simply too expensive. The photos we booked showed other rooms. Beware, it's a fake! Despite requesting a different room directly upon check-in, everything was fully booked. The room window faced a busy street and was noisy with the window open. The building was great, and the location was about a 30-minute walk to the center, so it wasn't a problem. Parking was very good. The service at breakfast and the breakfast itself were excellent.

Great family-owned place! The pasta was delicious and full of flavor, and the wine list had some real gems at very fair prices. The hotel rooms were clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. You really feel the warm, personal touch here. We’ll definitely be back!

The restaurant offers varying quality. The pasta is good, but the pizza is average (due to the dough, which tastes too bland); the drinks are okay, and the beer (Riegele, Augsburg) is good.

Five of us went there for dinner. The service team was very friendly and efficient. We had a mixed appetizer platter for four people. For main courses, we had a fish platter, grilled calamari, and various pizzas. Dessert was a must. The dishes were beautifully presented and the portions were perfectly adequate. I highly recommend it. I'd be happy to go back anytime.

Beautiful building with an Italian atmosphere. Free parking, delicious food. Breakfast ended at 9:00 a.m., but that wasn't a problem for us. The owner gave us tips about the area. The room was large, but there was no air conditioning.

I was expecting good things from this hotel, but was very disappointed. We booked a double room via a common booking site. The room was in the eves - as shown in the photos. However it was 25 degrees all night. The supplied portable aircon was too noisy to leave running and was too small to reduce the temperature by much. Neither myself or my wife got more than a couple of hours sleep. There were also no curtains, no sink plug, a large crack in the plaster, and a hot / cold / hot shower! The check in process was terrible - no info was provided about breakfast etc. When we checked out we were told the hot room was our fault and we shouldn't have booked a room on the top floor. Funny, but the options on the booking site Ididn't include an oven warning. The breakfast was OK. Not brilliant, nothing that couldn't be pre-prepared. Sorry, but the rude / grumpy response to our complaint (plus lack of sleep) means I would avoid this hotel.

This place is really lovely; even the outdoor chairs are comfortable. The staff is untrained but lovely. The rooms are huge, but unfortunately not that clean. We were there in mid-August, and there was a receipt dated July 31st on the sideboard. It was quite dusty, and there were fingerprints on the bathroom mirror, and the menus had never been wiped down. As I said, the decor, food, and service were very lovely; the rest just needs some improvement. Thank you for the great time.

From the outside it looks good, but from the inside... We booked via Booking.com at an outrageous price for the room (an attic): dirty, too hot, and full of bugs. The restaurant has exorbitant prices for subpar food; the pizza is an affront to Italian culture. They don't deserve the "avecce" (deeds) and inscriptions from the Roman Empire inside that proto-restaurant. Furthermore, we were accused of wanting to leave without paying simply because, having to drive 900+ km the next day, we had already loaded some luggage into the car. (Even though we were the first to ask to pay in advance.) Disgusting breakfast, but especially pitiful coffee. Highly not recommended.

The rooms are far too warm because there's no air conditioning. It's impossible to darken the room. The rooms are basic. Breakfast was good. Parking is also available. There's a lot of outside noise when you're in your room. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless they invest in upgrading the rooms (air conditioning, blackout blinds, and soundproof windows).

Unfortunately, I was disappointed... We were here for the first time yesterday. The pizzas and the vitello were good, as was the bruschetta, but for 4 small slices of bread with toppings, it was 9 euros.... My son had the fish plate, with very little fish on it and some potatoes that were still hard and raw, for 30 euros....not enough to fill you up.... We finished our food at 7:15 p.m. By then, about 6 waiters were buzzing around, all dressed differently: white shirt, black shirt, black shirt, no uniform look. Then, for 15 minutes, not a single waiter to be seen in the entire dining room....it was already 7:30 p.m., and then we had to wait 30 minutes to pay, telling 3 different waiters that we wanted to pay.... All in all, not a great deal, especially since the prices weren't exactly cheap.... Too bad. I actually noticed it because they're heavily advertising on TikTok, encouraging people to stop by....

Such crap! For the second time! I order and it doesn't get delivered. And the one time I had hair on my pizza, so NEVER AGAIN NEVER 😡😡😡😡😡

This hotel is super centrally located, making exploring the surrounding area incredibly easy. I was particularly pleasantly surprised by the free parking available right outside the hotel – that's invaluable in this location! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating throughout my stay. Another highlight was the Italian breakfast in the morning, a nice change and very tasty. The value for money is excellent. I felt completely at home and would happily come back!

A huge room in a former bourgeois house. The area is central enough for travelers in transit who want to see the city quickly. Access to the city center by tram. The hotel is located on the outer edge of the ZFE (local economic zone). Good value for money, both for the room and for the restaurant and breakfast. Recommended for travelers on the move.

The food was super delicious. The pizza was really crispy and well-topped, and the pasta al forno was also creamy and full of flavor. The ambiance was beautiful and stylish.

The staff doesn't speak Italian, which my partner, who is originally from Bari, noticed. The food itself wasn't a highlight or a "wow factor." There were four of us, and the starters didn't arrive at the same time. Furthermore, the server seemed very irritated when asked questions. He should find something else to do... The only good thing is the parking, either in the courtyard or on the street. We won't be visiting this restaurant again.

Now we're back home and already want to be back. The staff was fantastic; we felt very comfortable. When I booked, I was told not to worry, and that's exactly what happened. It was especially nice that we could have breakfast in the garden.

A very elegant hotel restaurant in an impressive structure. It is the result of the enormous passion that the owners have for gastronomy. The food is very good, there is a wide choice of wines, and the rooms are always clean and tidy. The pizza is good. The service is impeccable. Highlights are also the playground behind it, and the beautiful terrace which completes a structure where organization and friendliness are king. The rooms are huge and clean, and the breakfast plentiful. Always a pleasure to come back.

Italian restaurant with very tasty cuisine. The style of the restaurant is reminiscent of ancient Italy from the Roman era, very cozy and rich. There is also a terrace where you can enjoy the sunshine when the weather is nice. In summer the tables are also set outside in the fresh air. The dessert menu didn't go unnoticed either, it's bright and colorful. And we had no choice but to try something sweet and we didn't regret it.

Pizza was OK. No elevator. Still mineral water in the minibar, I can also drink Kranenberger. No bottle opener for beer. WiFi with problems. Breakfast very simple. Price cheap.

Absolute 5 stars: A piece of Italy in perfection 💖 IL GLADIATORE is an absolute recommendation! The staff is extremely polite and attentive, even in the event of small mishaps they remain courteous and extremely professional. The rooms are extremely well maintained and invite you to feel at home. Italian cuisine is simply fantastic – authentic, tasty and a real treat. A place that you have to see and experience! Thank you for your warm hospitality – I would love to come back.

Unfortunately, the staff was totally overwhelmed on New Year's Eve. You had to wait a long time for food and drink. No soft drinks except beer. Pasta dishes tasted like ready meals, pizza was good. But when the staff came, it was nice.

We had a Christmas party here and it was consistently positive!

We had booked a room for 2 people. When we came the room was only set up for one person. After consulting with the staff, we were allowed to get the bedding, towels, etc. out of the closet ourselves. The television only worked with a code. The breakfast wasn't special.

Restaurant Rating: A place that can't be beaten when it comes to ambience. There is enough parking space, the service at the table is upscale and the food is amazing. If you're really hungry, a 32cm pizza is enough, and the Gorgonzola Gnochi was also a large portion. In terms of taste, the restaurant actually deserves a few more stars. If you like authentic Italian food, you've come to the right place. Even price-performance tends to be more towards performance here. This means that not only does it taste great, it is also reasonably priced. This will be our new "favorite Italian"! Clear recommendation, you can't go wrong here! **** update 12/8/24 We've eaten here more often now, the food is as it should be: the tomato soup is very hot and delicious, the pizzas are also very crispy. I have rarely enjoyed better pizza outside of Italy. The pasta dishes are also highly recommended. Nobody needs to worry about not getting enough here. Last but not least: The mixed dessert platter - a dream. One small drawback: the service could be more attentive. If the restaurant is half empty, there is no excuse for stress on serving. All in all, top and still a clear recommendation.
