Delicious, fresh sushi, friendly service

I was very happy to see a cocktail with Nep moi on the menu, even if it was too sweet for me. The Pad Thai was also too sweet and too saucey/overcooked noodles for me. But the sashimi unagi absolutely ripped it off. Super tasty and a great combination. So gladly again for sushi!

The food is really very good. Have been there very often now or have ordered to take away, always very good and fresh. The best Asian dish I've eaten. With a lot of attention to detail. The boss and employees were very friendly and accommodating.

Very tasty main courses. Since we weren't that hungry, we skipped the starters. Nevertheless, both of them were full. Homemade lemonade is also recommended, not too sweet. We'll definitely be back, even though we're not directly from the area.

A really good addition to the Neustadt restaurant scene. Everything we already had for food was delicious and sufficient. We will come to eat more often.

The first visit to Ikigai was a great experience. The restaurant is in the pedestrian zone of Neustadt. The rather simple and functional interior offers enough space and there are also some tables outside. The service was very friendly and attentive. We ordered a starter platter for 4 people and 4 main courses. The appetizer platter came quickly, was well prepared and everything on it tasted great. As soon as the platter was eaten, the main courses arrived. We had the Ikigai Deluxe Sauce with shrimp, chicken and Barbarie duck breast three times and Flying Noodles with chicken once. All dishes were very tasty and sufficiently portioned. We were very satisfied and will visit Ikigai again. During our visit only cash payment was possible.

Visually very attractively decorated restaurant and a very varied selection in addition to the sushi dishes The staff is friendly as long as you don't want to pay with a voucher ;) However, I already had a letdown with the changing drinks which were so bitter and inedible that I no longer dare to try something I don't know yet :(

Unfortunately our food was forgotten, which was probably because the waiter wanted to remember it instead of writing it down. He noticed when we still hadn't received our main course after almost an hour. The starter also took longer for us than at other tables. The food itself was very tasty. Even as a vegetarian you will definitely find something here and have a certain selection. Unfortunately, I don't know whether there are vegan dishes. The prices are okay too.

Just lovely! We had the summer rolls with tempura prawns and the flying noodles (a MUST). Mine with scallops and my friend with duck breast. Delicious!!! Staff is very kind and friendly. I’ll return at my earliest opportunity!

My visit to the restaurant was a big disappointment. The waiter couldn't speak German, which made ordering difficult. The food was only served lukewarm, which significantly affected the enjoyment. The prices were disproportionately high for the quality of the food. When I asked for a receipt, I was not given one. And as if that wasn't enough, my remaining money was simply withheld without any explanation being given to me. Overall the experience was extremely negative and I will definitely not recommend this restaurant.

Best Sushi in Town, or the Best Sushi in Neustadt an der Weinstraße. Prices are ok, around €30 per person including drinks. Reservations advisable on weekends.

A very nice atmosphere without a lot of frills. Very friendly people and always ready with a smile. The drinks are very fresh and full of flavor. The food was exactly my thing as I really like Asian food. And thank you for the Twix And we'll definitely be back. Best regards R.W.Car Care Hassloch

Very good establishment with fast service (drinks - 5 minutes; food - 10 minutes). The only negative is the location and renovation of the toilet (but everything there is sterile, just not in the general style)

It was a spontaneous alternative date because our local bar was closed. Luckily all I can say is... it was a great evening with great food... we found a new local restaurant... highly recommended

We came in spontaneously after a hike. Dogs allowed, they even got a treat on the house. Fast friendly service, great selection. Food was extremely delicious. House lemonade also very tasty. Highly Recommended. Just make sure you have cash, there is no card payment.

Not a big selection, soups, The place isn't that pleasant, the staff is nice but they don't understand much when you ask...

Keins der von uns probierten Gerichte hat geschmeckt. "New Style Curry" mit Kürbis und Ananas drin, Nudeln mit Mango Sauce. Besonders neu ist das nicht und viel zu süß für ein Hauptgericht. Schlabberige Udonnudeln. Das Deli-Gericht, was wir wollten, war aus. Die Bedienung hatte wohl einen schlechten Tag, war von Anfang an unfreundlich. Wir haben uns nicht beschwert, aber wieder dorthin wollen wir auch nicht.

It is a small restaurant in the pedestrian zone, so it is strongly recommended to reserve well in advance. Because the food is good, service is top. We'd love to come back again.

Very nice location. I ate my best Asian food in my life here. It was absolutely delicious from starter to dessert. The products are high quality and taste simply bomb. The service was on point. An all-round successful evening.

We feel comfortable and the food is very good, but: During our last visit we noticed that card payments were no longer possible! Upon request, we were told that we could withdraw cash from the Sparkasse, which was about 100 meters away... In this day and age, when cashless payments have become indispensable, replacing the previously possible card payment with the only option of cash payment is very surprising to us! We therefore minimized our order and adjusted it to the cash we brought with us! We would be happy to come back when card payments are possible!

Essen ist sehr gut. Insbesondere der Bewertung der Vorgängerin muss ich widersprechen, da die Pho die beste Pho ist, die ich bislang in Deutschland gegessen habe.

Maybe the worst bo pho I’ve had in Germany. The beef tasted really odd. I’m really surprised with the high ranking of this place. Maybe locals here don’t know their pho (shrug).

Wir waren rundum zufrieden. Super Service, sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Alle Speisen waren sehr lecker, von den Getränken, über das Sushi und die Hauptspeisen, bis hin zum Mochi Eis. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Top Adresse für die asiatische Crossover-Küche mit sehr gutem Service. Etwas Punktabzug für das Ambiente - Einrichtung ist korrekt, aber hohe Personendichte, wenig Textil, daher recht laut.

Rundrum immerwieder ein toller Ausflug ins Reich der Sinne. Alles wird frisch zubereitet mit gleichbleibender Qualität. Weiter so.

Ein Highlight in der an Highlights armen Innenstadt meiner Heimatstadt Neustadt an der Weinstraße. Besser reservieren, zumindest an den beliebten Abenden. Der Service ist sehr freundlich, manchmal sogar witzig. Auch für Vegetarier finden sich auf der Speisekarte ausreichend Möglichkeiten. Man sitzt nett und kann den Köchen bzw. dem Küchenpersonal beim Zubereiten zusehen. Alles in allem empfehlenswert.

Wir hatten die Vorspeisenplatte für 2.......Sommerrollen, Papayasalat, drei Dips, 2 Hähnchenspieße, Bohnen mit Salz und gefüllte Teigtaschen.... Alles seeeeehr lecker und toll angerichtet. Flying Noodles mit Ente und Mangosoße.... Witzig angerichtet und ausgesprochen lecker..... Reisgericht mit Huhn, Gemüse und Soße....... Alles nicht zu viel und nicht zu wenig....frisches knackige Gemüse. Wir kommen wieder

Ein kleines aber feines,modernes Sushi Restaurant in dem es auch warme Speisen gibt. Einziges Manko für uns persönlich: Es gibt keine Rückenlehnen, da es Bänke gibt und keine Stühle. Essen ist top sowie Service auch. Preis Leistung finden wir angemessen. Waren jetzt schon einmalige Male hier. Sehr lecker.

Das Essen ist sehr lecker und sah toll aus. Auch das Restaurant ist schön eingerichtet. Die Bedienung war allerdings etwas komisch und kam direkt nach dem Abräumen zum Tisch zum Kassieren, obwohl sonst noch viel Platz war. Einen Stern Abzug gibt es auch wegen nicht verfügbarer Kartenzahlung.

Restaurant in der Fußgängerzone. Mittagsgerichte Preise sind OK 👍geschmacklich gut, was mich störte ist das im Teller soviel Soße ist und der frische Salat total „versoffen“ in der warme Soße liegt. Bedienung freundlich aber langsam, musste rufen das er die Speisekarte bringt und später zum bezahlen das gleiche Spiel 😳 Leider kein Kartenzahlung möglich.

Na prima, zum dritten Mal hier gewesen und wieder zufrieden. Macht nur weiter so. Dann macht das Essen Spaß. Das Essen ist top Punkt mit dem Service bin ich auch zufrieden. Nur die Holzbänke sind etwas ungemütlich.

Top Qualität, nettes Personal - da gibt es nichts zu meckern. Das einzige was mich gestört hatte, waren die kleinen Fliegen, die ständig ins Getränk wollten.

Super tolles Angebot. Was wir gegessen haben war einfach nur spitze.

Das Ambiente Restaurant ist super. Man kommt durch die Tür und fühlt sich wie an einem anderen Ort. Der Service war anfänglich sehr freundlich und schnell. Nachdem wir das Essen erhalten hatten siehst du das stark nach. Die Kokos Suppe war ein wahrer hochgenuss. Die Kombination aus Kokosmilch und Ingwer war mir persönlich neu. Die beiden anderen Gerichte waren gut. Eventuell wird hier mit Glutamat gearbeitet, was ja eigentlich nicht mehr nötig ist. Alles in allem war es ein angenehmer Aufenthalt.

Ich komme regelmäßig ins Ikigai und freue mich jedes Mal aufs Neue an der geschmacklichen Vielfalt dieser Küche! Die Saucen, die Gewürze, immer wieder ein neues Erlebnis. Die Zutaten von bester Qualität, alles liebevoll zubereitet und auch optisch ein Genuss. Sehr freundliches Personal! Ich werde weiterhin hierher kommen, wenn ich in Neustadt bin!

Während unsere Ferien in Neustadt ad Weinstrasse haben wir 2x bei Ikigai gegessen weil es so gut war. Herrlich un sehr empfehlenswürdig. Und es wird sehr schön präsentiert.

Nachdem wir in den letzten eineinhalb Jahren schon einige Male im Ikigai waren, kann ich diese Zeit als voller Erfolg für das Restaurant bezeichnen. Die Sushi-Kreationen sind sehr gut zubereitet und hervorragend präsentiert. Der Service ist fantastisch. Stets freundlich, zuvorkommend und souverän. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

It’s hard to find such good sushi in Germany, but these guys are amazing! I only wish we lived closer so we could come more often, since nothing I’ve tried comes even close to the standard Ikigai upholds. I would seriously recommend the tuna tataki!! The staff are attentive, the service is fast, and the ambiance is gorgeous. of course we’ll be back..

went with my boyfriend the other day, and I think it is our new date night spot. The food was unbelievable, it is hard to find good asian food in Germany but they have done it. Portions were generous and service was quick even though we ordered a lot!! we will be back soon.

neu in Neustadt, ehemals Nordsee, zum Glück nun Ikigai! Wir waren zu 4. zum Abendessen vor Ort, dass Sushi nicht das "günstigste" Essen ist, sollte allen klar sein, die Speisekarte bietet jedoch auch andere Gerichte an für nicht Sushi möger zu einem angemessenem Preis! Wir haben eine große Sushiplatte (mit dementsprechenden Preis) gegessen und waren vollends zufrieden. Alle sind satt geworden und restlos glücklich! Service sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, man wird gefragt ob man noch etwas möchte, ob alles in Orndung ist. Wir besuchen es defintiv wieder!
