IKEA Restaurant Hannover EXPO-Park in Laatzen

-The decor is nice! -The food is poor. -The cashier overcharged me; it took ages to correct it. -There weren't enough glasses in the restaurant. -One exit was blocked; it took forever to get out of Ikea.

As always, inspiring and entertaining. Unfortunately, there were too many people, but that's just how it is these days.

Always discovering something new

Forget about using pans there! December 7th, 10:40 PM... actually time for a quick snack from the pan. Forget it. Everything burns. You get what you pay for. Or in my case, WMF!

What more can be said about IKEA? It's always a great shopping experience. Wonderful inspiration while browsing the store and later while exploring the marketplace. Only the restaurant had temporarily lost my favor – but it's won me back now. For a few years, their legendary hot dogs were only available vegetarian or with chicken. It's nice to be considerate of religious or ethical dietary restrictions, but to completely eliminate beef and pork – that was going too far. But that's all over now. Hot dogs at IKEA are delicious again, and I'm once again happy to finish my shopping trip in the restaurant.

The selection is simply excellent. Parking spaces are also very usable for really large cars.

Nice IKEA. One star deducted because of the chaotic checkout system. Only one checkout for cash payments only, staffed by one employee.

The selection is impressive. The IKEA itself is impressively poorly planned; you can only get back to the parking lot by elevator, or alternatively by stairs if you don't have a large shopping trip. Incomprehensible.

Always great... Only the food in the restaurants wasn't always delicious. And the staff in the restaurants weren't very helpful. Otherwise, everything was good.

Leaving is not permitted. The stairs are closed and everyone must use only ONE elevator to reach the exit.

It was good for a full day shopping. You can find multiple things under one roof, but you need to have ample time to check different areas that could be tiring. The good aspect is that they also have a kids' place where kids can play and you can focus on your shopping. You can officially hand over your kids, and they will take care so you can focus on shopping. Our kids also enjoyed the play area as they were not interested in shopping. They also have nice restaurant. Food quality is also good there, but it might be overcrowded over the weekend. We had a good experience and we will probably go there again to do shopping and eating..

There's always something to buy, even if you hadn't planned on it. Great selection, convenient, large parking, delicious hot dogs.

Everything I was looking for was found. Afterwards, a delicious coffee break with a piece of cake. What more could you want?

The restaurant has become awful; there's a long wait to order, then another wait at the till, so the food is almost cold. The cutlery looked like it hadn't been washed in the dishwasher.

I wanted to have a stuffed animal embroidered for my granddaughter for Christmas today. To avoid a wasted trip, I checked the website a few days ago to make sure the embroidery service was still available. I also called Ikea yesterday to inquire. They said yes, the embroidery service was there. When I arrived at Ikea, I immediately asked an employee where I could find the embroidery service. She said it was in the kitchen department. After searching the entire store, I asked another employee, who told me that the embroidery service had been discontinued since September 1st. Great job, Ikea, truly fantastic service!!

Very nice service at the receipt of goods

This is infuriating! Long lines at the few open self-checkout lanes. Dead empty at the numerous app-based checkouts. Not a single regular checkout lane open. I would have left the items there!

I simply like it here; I've always gotten what I need, and the restaurant has good food that's also suitable for a small budget. 👍👍

A very well-designed IKEA store; the food in the restaurant is always delicious and the prices are reasonable.

I was disappointed that we weren't served at a checkout. There was only one cash register, and everything else was self-scanning. With three carts, that was really complicated and stressful.

That's Ikea for you. If you've seen one, you've seen them all.

An Ikea with plenty of parking and an interior that's typical of Ikea stores. It's clean, well-organized, and the staff is friendly. There's only one minor drawback (which isn't directly the fault of the Ikea itself), and that's the location. Whenever there's an event at the exhibition halls, the surrounding streets seem to be completely jammed.

Well-stocked but without a cash register is still necessary in my opinion. But it's missing here...

Within walking distance of the university. Friendly staff and, as always, delicious and affordable food. The selection is the same as in any other Ikea :)

Very large Ikea, bustling and confusing

It's IKEA, what more can I say? Delicious coffee, great food, and a fantastic hot dog sale with furniture.

Just like fast food...the brand has its own agenda. Spacious, parking available, and easily accessible.

We are very happy with Ikea and always enjoy coming back. The restaurant always serves delicious food and is a must-visit with our little daughter. Unfortunately, for some time now, only one of the game screens in the play area has been working; the others only display an error message, so all the children crowd around one screen.

It serves its purpose, but in my opinion it is anything but cozy or inviting.

Signage is a bit confusing, otherwise top-notch.

I was very satisfied with my visit to IKEA. The service was consistently competent, clearly structured, and without unnecessary delays. The staff had all the relevant information readily available, presented various solutions, and addressed my specific needs. This allowed me to make quick and well-informed decisions. The showroom is also of a high standard. Everything is clean, logically arranged, and practically designed. The product displays provide a realistic impression of function, materials, and how the products fit into a space. It's particularly helpful that the store is easy to navigate and all areas are clearly signposted. Overall, a very convincing experience: professional advice, well-organized processes, and a great showroom. Highly recommended.

It's nice here, but have you ever been to Großburgwedel?

I was standing in utter despair a while ago in the corner where the nice gentleman with the laser and embroidery machine stand usually had his stall. Completely empty... I've always bought something there and have always been extremely satisfied; I hope he comes back soon! I drove over an hour just to get there.

I actually really enjoy coming here, but unfortunately I had to witness racist remarks today. None of the staff felt compelled to say anything or anything like that. Unacceptable.

Well, you can almost always find something, but the staff are very nice.

There's always plenty of parking at IKEA Hannover EXPO Park. The showroom, restaurant, and collection area are, as with all other IKEA stores, designed for easy navigation. The product range is well-presented, and anyone who likes IKEA will find everything they need. They have it all, from batteries and LED lamps to various light fixtures, from bath mats and towels to bathroom furniture... and last but not least, they also have cookies, candles, and complete kitchen sets.

The restaurant there is incredibly well-organized. We were there at lunchtime and it was absolutely packed. But we were served very quickly.

As always, worth a visit. Unfortunately, apart from two-thirds of the regular checkouts, there are now only self-pay lanes, and the shop where you could get things laser-cut or embroidered is gone. I find that the most annoying thing. I always liked to order things there.

I waited over an hour just to return an item worth €4. Very poor organization and a long wait.

It was worth waiting a moment at the register. A tall lady with short hair and a shorter blonde lady. GREAT IKEA STAFF! It was really fun.

A lovely furniture store, well-stocked, very child-friendly and with a practical nursing corner.

You can drive up with a truck and wait for a break.

I used IKEA's Click & Collect service – unfortunately, the experience was anything but convincing. According to the confirmation, the order was supposed to be ready for pickup at a specific time (e.g., 4:00 PM), but I still had to wait around 30 minutes. This completely contradicts the idea of ​​"simply order and pick up." Oh, and I did ask some questions. Friendly service was definitely lacking. A nightmare. The entire shopping experience was disappointing and frustrating. Of course, IKEA is known for affordable furniture, but this service significantly tarnished my impression. I was practically forced to order from them, but one thing is certain: never again IKEA – and I certainly can't recommend them.

Having to do everything yourself at the checkouts now makes it only half as much fun.

It's just an Ikea. We were there for two specific items, and the lady at the self-checkout was very friendly and helped me with my voucher. It's not my Ikea, though. I prefer going to the one in Großburgwedel. But we were in the area.

We bought a sofa bed, but only received it 3 hours later, at 8:30 pm.

I'd say it's just another IKEA. But this one is definitely among the worse ones when it comes to service. The showroom is also rather uninspired. Most importantly, though, many items from the overall product range are missing.

As always, very fair prices. The product range was quite good overall, but I would have liked a bit more choice in the sofa and couch section. The good availability of food, drinks, and rest areas was a particular plus – this made it possible to search for the desired products for much longer without getting tired. However, the layout of the store could be a bit clearer. It can be somewhat confusing for someone visiting for the first time.

Plenty of parking, a children's play area, a restaurant, and a bistro are also available. Most items are in stock, except in cases of shortages.

Large IKEA with the usual selection, aisles aren't too narrow. The only downside for me is that, as is typical for IKEA, you have to walk halfway through the store, even if you only want certain items at the end, and the wait times at the checkout can sometimes be a bit long, even with Shop and Go :,)

We put together a Pax wardrobe and were given a delivery date, all well and good. Then we get a few days' notice that the delivery is delayed. The next appointment is also during 'working hours,' which we unfortunately can't make... and the next available appointment isn't for another three weeks??? You really wish they could be more accommodating regarding the delivery time, if they can't even meet the original delivery date. But now we have to wait an extra month... THANK YOU

The lower parking level is almost always closed, even though it's quite busy, and the biggest problem is the lack of sanitizer dispensers at the hot dog stand. Anyone who's just used the restroom or is seriously ill touches the scoops, ladles, and sauce dispensers. And then you're forced to touch your hot dog. A hand sanitizer dispenser would break the chain here. During the coronavirus pandemic, the checkout area was full of them. Now, there aren't any left. Cost-cutting is happening everywhere. The result back then was a hospital stay for a stomach bug after visiting you.

Compared to other stores, this one is a bit more relaxed, not as crowded or stressful. Otherwise, just typical Ikea.

As usual, just IKEA. Especially crowded on Saturdays. Furniture and furnishings made in China, nothing special.

The children are very excited about Smaland. After entering all their information, the kids rushed to the front because of the green light, only to be turned back and told that there was no room, but they were fourth on the waiting list. A comment I made that the light was green was laughed at and considered a personal attack, very unfortunate. Too bad, the extremely unfriendly staff told me that it wasn't their problem. Meanwhile, the children were crying because they were so frustrated. But a good 10 minutes later, a message came to their cell phone saying the children could come. The kids went straight there, put their shoes in the box, and the joy was immense, but unfortunately, a shared last name isn't enough when they only have the father's ID card and the mother carelessly entered her first name on the form. That couldn't be changed and would be bad luck. Now we're sitting in the car with very sad children and probably won't take such a trip again! Inflexibility to the max for families who have previously exposed their entire identities at IKEA! I really don't want to talk about the very unfriendly service, but perhaps a different area with fewer people would be more appropriate! We've never experienced this extreme at IKEA.

I strongly advise against having furniture delivered by Ikea. Ikea works with Rhenus. Here's my experience: Yesterday, Rhenus was supposed to deliver an Ikea delivery. At 1 p.m., the driver called me to say they would be there in about an hour to make the delivery. So far, everything was fine. At about 2 p.m., the driver called me to say he couldn't find a parking space, even though there was a parking space on the corner and also a space for loading and unloading. Thus, there were sufficient parking spaces available on site. I explained the situation to him, but he still refused to deliver and referred me to an alternative date, asking me to please ensure sufficient parking (by occupying parking spaces with chairs). This is, by the way, illegal and therefore not permitted. He told me: "Ensure sufficient parking and I will deliver the items later." After I called him again, he didn't answer his phone, even after several attempts. So, the delivery didn't happen as stated. I had specifically booked tradesmen for the weekend, but now I still have to pay them. It's simply unbelievable. I strongly advise against using Rhenus as a shipping company. If I'd known, I would have picked up the furniture myself in a Sprinter van. That would have saved me money and stress. Although now I'm not sure if I'll even buy anything from Ikea again. An alternative delivery date isn't available for over a week... unbelievable.

I like both Ikea stores, Burgwedel appeals to me more, but if you're not from nearby Burgwedel, Expo is closer.

A large Ikea, as you'd expect. A positive point is the large, free parking spaces specifically for camper vans and caravans. You can stop here for a bite to eat before the "event" in the restaurant 😉

IKEA - What else do you need to know? This is just another store, following the proofing and we'll known concept. It provides you access to the complete bandwidth of IKEA products - including its restaurant. Free parking is available. Getting there via public transportation is possible. Cars or vans can be rented there as well, in case the shopping spree has overcome personal transportation limits.

We were at IKEA Laatzen yesterday and actually wanted to go to the embroidery shop, but unfortunately we couldn't find it. This shop was always the highlight of our visit to IKEA. We always found good products there, great gift ideas, and friendly service. Very, very unfortunate.

It's quite large. We prefer the smaller one in Burgwedel. But luckily, everyone has different tastes :-)
