A large IKEA branch in the heart of Altona. A large selection in the different departments. Restaurant delicious with a small selection of different dishes. Update: 8/5/23 unfortunately there is only coffee but no other selection of mixed coffee drinks.

Great collections of applicances, indoor decore items and inspiring interior look. But some of the items seems over priced, looking at the quality.do also checkout the second chance section at 2nd floor. Before buying anything.

I received very friendly and helpful advice today at IKEA Altona – I believe the employee's name was Mohammed Yassin Rahimi. He took his time, explained all the options in detail, and presented me with all the possibilities for planning PAX. A truly pleasant and competent consultation – thank you very much!

It's very convenient to have an IKEA store in a central location, which you can reach by public transport even without a car if you need small decorative items. Of course, a hot dog is a must after shopping. Delicious.

Good Ikea, centrally located and offering free parking for 3 hours.

"Free parking for IKEA Family Card holders" – that's how it's advertised. Unfortunately, there's no way to scan the card or use it for any other purpose at the pay station in the parking garage. Instead, you have to go back to the store to see the cashier to have your card stamped. There's clearly a lack of clear instructions here – or even any indication at all that would indicate this procedure. I ultimately decided to pay the parking fee (€3 per hour) to avoid having to go back to the store.

2025.06.02: Click&Collect is not trivial where to be found. There could be some signs from the entrace leading the way there. And one item was missing from my order, they didn't even check if everything was included. Moreover the QR code sent in the email also wasn't working for me. Maybe it's a one time issue, but took some extra time for me, about which I wasn't too happy.

1 star is way too many. 0 would be optimal.

At 11:30 a.m., ONE checkout was open on the ground floor! A line stretched as far as the eye could see. The scanner checkouts there were LOCKED until, at 11:50 a.m., an employee finally shuffled over and opened them! Are there any managers in this store?

Once again, I found everything and more. Unfortunately, all three accessible restrooms aren't accessible for everyone. A baby stretcher would be necessary for our needs. I mentioned this to the staff and asked if they had any other options, like a first-aid room or something. Unfortunately, they couldn't provide me with a changing facility that day. But they're planning to pass this on to the appropriate department. I'd be happy if that could be changed.

Ikea Hamburg Altona currently allows dogs – as long as they're placed in the shopping cart. Then there's no hassle of leaving them at home or a sitter issue. Great! Unfortunately, no dogs allowed in Hamburg Schnelsen! As of May 2025!

I had to pay a €3 parking fee because I wanted to quickly pick up something from the Click & Collect store. Why? Otherwise, I didn't see much of the interior. It's just an Ikea.

Reasonable rates... It is one stop shop. You get all types decorations, interior design, furniture, crockery and so on and even candles. When I went only one counter was open and they accept Debit and credit card.

In the parking garage you get dizzy... too small a selection

The parking garage takes some getting used to; you have to drive in circles forever! If you navigate to IKEA, you won't get to the parking garage, and you have to take a detour if you then correct yourself to IKEA parking garage! The IKEA store is good, but it can't compete with others.

What a rude lady on entrance at info desk. I asked her does she speak english and she rolled her eyes and just no. Oh, very unprofessional and unpleasant. But lady at food corner was very kind and she helped me with finding toilet. :)

The food at Ikea is getting worse and worse. The vegan schnitzel was cold and almost inedible. The absolute low point was the mushroom sauce. Muddy, sticky, cold. Even €6.95 is still too much.

Absolutely, free coffee on a leather sofa and free WiFi, almost like at home, but here for free...

There are two points because the shop itself is very nice and because Thomas was really great at planning the kitchen. Very friendly and competent. But there are a lot of deductions because the rest just didn't fit. The purchase of my kitchen went through three processes: 1. Parts were delivered from the central warehouse because they were not in stock (delivery was good, I had to pay for it, albeit at a discount). 2. For the most part we got the kitchen (more on that annoyance later) 3. Panels weren't there at all, no word on when they'll be back in stock. We wanted to get the kitchen, which was specially reserved(!). I asked again on the day of planning and then at the service counter whether I could make an appointment for this and was told no. The person at the checkout told me that I would have been better off making an appointment because there were now waiting times (1 hour 10 minutes!!!) and then parts were missing again, despite a reservation (why then??). When we got home we noticed that one of the boxes had already been open and had just been taped shut again. The plates of the body are already badly damaged. So we have to go again. Ikea, that's really a terrible customer experience and that for something as expensive as a kitchen! There seems to be a lot going wrong with the processes! How could I recommend this?

Everything is okay with the IKEA store... But I'm more like "Team IKEA Schnelsen"

IKEA Altona is super centrally located - it's really cool that you can easily shop for furniture in the city center. The concept as a "City-IKEA" is well implemented, but the selection is a little smaller than in the larger markets. But it has a more modern design and is mostly very tidy. Perfect for quick furniture shopping or inspiration, but not for XXL weekly shopping.

Nice staff who will help with any questions and there are also great snacks and drinks.

A really beautifully designed Ikea in the middle of Altona. Over 4 floors with a restaurant and Swedish bistro, but without Smalland There is currently a lot of renovation going on on the second floor. Very nice and friendly employees.

Greetings Girteka! The fix was at 5:29, I arrived on time, but as my colleagues wrote, the barrier opened exactly at 6:00. I met a man and showed him where to go. I took a photo of the seals, asked to open the gate and immediately said ramp. They started unloading after 20 minutes. The office has a toilet and shower. A furniture store in the middle of a residential area. Buying furniture without a car is nonsense and you don't want to drive around town with a car.

Great showroom with a view of the shopping street, watching people pass by in the sunshine while testing the future sofa. The rest didn't interest me much, I was just there for the sofas. And I found one for myself.

In the restaurant, many of the seats are occupied by district residents who meet for hours over tea. The food isn't really fresh or tasty, which is a shame because the quality (also from the staff) has clearly deteriorated.

Is your usual ikea just set up way fifteenth then your stand alone location. Here it's set up in 2 stories with the big shelves to pick up your item all the way on top.

On the first visit I was not helped at all by an employee of the kitchen department, the dear gentleman had a bald head and an oval face, I was immediately turned away and I was told that you can't have a kitchen sink and cupboards put together if then you would have to buy a complete kitchen including electrical appliances, which means I would have to buy a stove and a washing machine as well because unfortunately the washing machine can only be in the kitchen because I have a relatively small apartment... Then I'm out of there... I told my cousin, she said that If it's not at Ikea, everything is possible. She booked an appointment for me and I went back to Ikea 2 days later. There was such a lovely woman who helped me a lot. She worked with me on the kitchen and finished it so that it was delivered to me 4/5 days later, everything went well and quickly... I arrived on time, but the store opens at 6.00. You must arrive at the appointed time. She pressed the button and the barrier opened. The ride was difficult for me. And the workers are good and helpful. There is a shower and toilet. Relaxation room (warming room, table and chairs).

I really liked their collection for plants and gardening. I was really impressed with various plants and plant pots and I must say they look quite nice in my apartment. I had an extra IKEA shoe stand and also thinking of making use of it as a plant pot holder and try to put it in my balcony when the sun shines. Furthermore I also bought a lot of plastic plants for my bathroom area.

I bought a steel pan 1 week ago. The pan I used twice started to rust. Also, even though I used it on my electric stove, there were burn marks on the pan. So I took it to Ikea Altona branch for return. Unfortunately, I purchased the product among the non-returnable ones, so they informed me that they could not take a refund. I'm disappointed that they don't stand behind their product. I definitely do not recommend you to shop.
