It's quite a spectacle to be able to watch the noodle masters at work! It must take a long time to deliver it with such perfection! And the food tastes so sensational, I could bathe in it, let alone be unable to stop eating. Recently, I ate two portions of the mega-mega-mega delicious curry noodles... It doesn't get any better than this!

The service attitude is very bad. After waiting in line for half an hour, you can only eat for 15 minutes before being kicked out.

I only remembered to take a photo halfway through my meal. The noodles were incredibly chewy! The braised beef was also quite good, with a generous portion! The owner was very considerate, offering tea and snacks to those in line, and the prices were very reasonable. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Munich!

Outstanding good simple beef soup. A place just to enjoy food. Not to spend an evening there with friends

Unfortunately, the vegetarian noodles tasted of nothing except a little oil. The two broccoli florets and the piece of cabbage (both tasteless) didn't really make up for it. I hope it was because we brought the noodles with us, but I definitely wouldn't go back. I couldn't eat the noodles. Unfortunately, a waste of money.

The long line outside the restaurant proves its reputation. Looking through the window, I saw a chef kneading noodles and several cooks cooking them. The restaurant was packed, so we took some takeaway food back to the hotel. The noodles were chewy, the broth rich, and the meat tender. As I ate my noodles, I thought of Marx.

Excellent food. I took the spicy beef noodle soup and fried chicken dumplins. Fast service and only cost me 16 euro. Reccommend!

So that was absolutely fantastic. We were immediately noticed when we stood outside and were given a drink while we waited. It was also really cool to be able to watch these (obviously handmade) noodles being made. The food was simply focused on the essentials and absolutely amazing. The portions were huge, and you felt welcome and not rushed. Everything was extremely well and quickly organized; I've never experienced anything like it before. It's best to come here at lunchtime, because it was too crowded in the evening (for good reason!)

I can't understand the supposed hype. The dining room feels a bit like a run-down train station snack bar. The soup may be good, but the rice dish I ordered was completely flavorless, and even though I ordered extra vegetables, I had to hunt for them on my plate. Card payments aren't accepted either.

I can't understand the positive reviews at all. The pasta was nothing special, the pieces of meat were way too big, especially since you only get a large spoon and chopsticks to eat with. The 0.3 l apple spritzer was incredibly small and scalding hot, and I couldn't choose my own seat, even though I was there alone. The seat faced the wall and was cramped, even though there were free tables! My first and last visit!

This is the first beef noodle restaurant in Europe where I can change the meat. I don't eat beef, so I originally wanted to just have the noodle soup. But the owner said the price would be the same without meat, so he helped me change it to another meat. Thank you so much.

Slightly disappointing. Whenever I would pass by this restaurant there would be a queue taking up almost a whole street, so I decided to give it a go. Ordered Max Beef noodles and Hongshao noodles. The amount of beef is definitely not sufficient for beef noodles and the broth tasted really bland. It lacked depth and flavors. I felt like a five years old kid eating plain noodles with not even salt. Luckily, there was sriracha sauce and vinegar on the table to slightly fix up the taste, but overall I was expected more from authentic Chinese place. Anyways noodles itself were tasting fine and fresh and kudos to the guy making them in front of people. They don’t accept credit cards, but luckily there is atm nearby.

I recommend it, even though you might have to wait a while in line for a table, which is made more pleasant by a small treat, it's worth the wait ;)

A very authentic soup kitchen with a very good soup base (beef) and very good noodles. For €10, you get a decent portion. The ambiance isn't exactly suitable for a date night—it's more like a soup kitchen.

The preparation is still proper preparation in a real way and not cheap garbage!

The best noodles I've ever eaten. Best value in all of Munich, too. There's always a line, but while you wait, you're served free tea and other delicacies the whole time. 10/10, truly. I've been a regular customer for 4 years 😄

We ordered Max Beef Noodles and Hongshao Noodles, and the portions were so large we couldn't finish them. As for the flavors, they were delicious. Max Beef's might seem a bit bland, like diet food, but Hongshao's was delicious and I highly recommend it.

A great discovery. Here, you can watch the chefs pull the noodles firsthand. All dishes are freshly prepared and authentically seasoned. Waiting guests are served tea. Staff are on the ball and very courteous. Prices are very reasonable. No card payments accepted. No tips accepted. No reservations accepted. None of these are reasons not to eat here. Always packed, lines out the door. I'll be back. Great service, even when it's full, you get assigned a seat.

The food was very good and inexpensive. While we waited, we were also given prawn crackers and a green tea. The staff were very friendly and personable.

A very popular noodle venue. Whenever we pass there are queues, but they quickly move and they let you organise your order as you wait. Food is very reasonably priced and tastes great. I would recommend it.

We were there on a Friday evening at 7 p.m., so the line was quite long. We waited about 50 minutes. If you have the time and patience, it's definitely worth it. The service was exceptional; the waitresses brought jasmine tea and small snacks to the guests in line. Even when it started to rain, they brought us umbrellas. The vegetarian dishes were delicious, but the meat dishes are definitely the specialty of this restaurant.

Freshly made noodles, really delicious.

Completly awesome! Gave us green tea and rice cakes while waiting in the raid for our seat. They have sheets to pre order food which comes practically right as you sit down at your table. The service is awesome as they asked before hand how many you had so that way they could find a table and basically reserve it for you. The food was the best part as they give amazing portions and cook the noodles so well that it is the perfect texture. Would 💯 recommend

Unfortunately, not recommended – disappointing service! My visit to Max Beef Noodles was a real disappointment. The service was unfriendly and completely disrespectful. When I politely asked for a replacement Coke (which was completely stale and without carbonation), I received a rude response: "All Cokes are the same." No accommodation, no apology – instead, rude reactions. That's not how you treat guests. It's a shame, because with good service, you might have enjoyed eating here. As it is: never again!

This restaurant was recommended to us. We had to wait a bit, but they gave us free tea and prawn crackers! The food came very quickly, and what can I say? It was the best food I've ever eaten. The broth was perfect, the meat was perfect, it tasted absolutely delicious. The noodles are homemade. Everything in there is simply delicious. We will DEFINITELY be back. The price is also very reasonable!

It's a small place. You might have to wait a bit, but it's delicious. If you like Far Eastern cuisine, definitely try it. The price is very good.

We were provided with herbal tea while waiting, which was really thoughtful. We filled out the paper order form while waiting, and were served quickly after we got a seat! The noodles tasted great, and the people from the northwest were ecstatic! The portion was slightly less, but you could add more noodles, which was really a surprise. It was great and highly recommended.

Apparently this restaurant has been popular for quite some time, and I happened to pass by and there was no line, so I went in. The noodles were chewy and good, but there were few ingredients and the soup wasn't very flavorful. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to people who know a lot about Chinese noodles.

Waited in line for ~20 mins on a sunday afternoon. Super good customer service for guests in line -- giving out hot tea and hot fried gyozas. However the noodles itself didn't live up to the hype. The broth was bland, 2-3 pieces of beef, noodles were nothing special, no vegetables. Also ordered cucumber salad but it tasted bland and watery. Karaage was crispy and nice.

Max’s Noodle were tasty but not the best ones. You can’t go wrong with edamame but Kuttelsalat was peculiar. It has a strong taste, not for everyone but recommended to try. While we waited they gave us gyozas and fried rice :) And they offered tap water free (rare in Munich)

Overrated but I want to try next time for other menus. We never know Right? I might find some favorite noodle here like other reviewers :) (The mara beef noodle soup that I ordered is not spicy at all and bland, so I had to put a lot of soy sauce....maybe it is localized for German people? As you can see in the photo, there are many foreigners. I mean 85 percent is non Asians.. at a glimpse. Waited for 2-30 mins. Not sure if it is worth it. The price is good though. So if you have time to wait and craving for some asian noodles, why not? :) The staff is friendly and lovely. Always smile. :) Thank you. P.S. they don't accept tip but only accept cash.

There were small pieces of meat in my vegetarian meal.

I can't think of anything to complain about. €10 for a portion of freshly pulled noodles with shrimp, plus a free tea while you wait, is a great price right in the middle of Munich's city center, and the noodles with shrimp tasted great. The wait at lunchtime was just a few minutes, and the staff was very friendly.

A very cool place that offers a really good noodle soup for just €12. If the line is too long, you can also get gyoza or a tea to while you wait. 100% recommended! Very friendly service

Fantastic experience, but don't expect personal service. You write a ticket as you queue (where they also gave us free jasmine tea) where you decide what main, sides and drink you want. Then, you're seated with strangers and the waiters quickly bring you your food - which was absolutely fantastic. You quickly eat and then pay in the door before leaving. A great, somewhat stressful experience with the best broth and noodles I've ever had at a fantastic price. Also fun being forced to sit with strangers! Would highly recommend.

In my opinion, the best place to eat noodle soup. The facts: - Freshly hand-pulled noodles - Amazing broth - Amazing appetizers - Small and compact - Incomparable charm - Unbeatable price - They serve you snacks or tea while you wait - No reservations possible - Amazing chef and amazing guy at the cash register! A truly amazing group - The noodle soups are always good, even in summer I love everything about this place! Unfortunately, this review still doesn't do it justice.

It was truly perfect! I now understand why people always line up there. And something I've never experienced before: They don't accept tips. On the one hand, I thought that was a shame (because they deserved it). On the other hand, it speaks volumes about the restaurant. They're simply polite and friendly "by nature."

-We ordered their signature Max noodle soup and the beef noodle. Taste was so good and portion was very generous(1 serving would be enough for 2 people). We had to wait 5-10 mins and the staff gave us freshly fried gyoza(it was good!).

Soup was amazing :") was desperate for chinese food and this really hit the spot. Great service too! When we were queueing for the food, they passed around drinks, some crackers and even fried dumplings. they even offered free soup refills after i vacuumed it all up.

I tried "Max Beef Noodles" today. They're great; not quite like Hong Kong, but still excellent. I had Chongking noodles and a seaweed salad for €16. Both were delicious, and the spiciness was adjusted to European standards. I'll definitely go back.

Seeing as this place was crowded everyday, thought the food would have been exceptional. The noodles themselves were great texture and taste, however the broth was extremely salty. It may have been just badluck on one day.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed today. We had beef noodles and vegetarian noodles. In terms of taste, the food didn't even deserve a star in my opinion.

We ordered Marx beef noodles, braised beef noodles, fried dumplings, and smashed cucumbers. The noodles were very large and hand-pulled by the chef. Every meal was delicious. It is worth recommending to friends who are in Munich but miss oriental food 🤣🤣🤣

This is my addiction... The best noodles I've had in Munich. I love the soup. It could use a bit more meat (but that's because I love meat so much 😀). Every time I go there, I also order spring rolls. I also think it's very nice and welcoming that they serve you gyoza and jasmine tea while you wait. 🥰

Super delicious noodle soup! We were there for lunch and got lucky with the queue :) My 5-year-old daughter got a small bowl for free ❤️ She also said it was better than her grandma's 🙈😱 Super friendly, attentive service; everything was very clean; the highlight, of course, was the food; the only thing that was a bit annoying was the heat in the room, and with the hot soups, it was a bit warm and stuffy overall.

Waited in line for 25mins, they served snacks and drinks while waiting (free of cost), which was very nice and made the wait enjoyable. When I finally sat down I got my food within 5mins; some beef noodles. It was very good with the freshly made pasta and tasteful broth and beef complementing the dish very well. Please know that they only take cash. Expect to pay 12-18 euros. Overall reasonably priced noodles and great service.

We finally had the chance to visit Max Beef Noodles near Sendlinger Tor — and we were lucky to grab a table right away without waiting in line! We had passed by several times before and always saw a queue of people eagerly waiting outside, which only made us more curious to try it. Of course, we went for the famous Max Beef Noodle Bowl, and it certainly lived up to its reputation. The broth was rich, flavorful, and clearly slow-cooked to perfection. The highlight, however, was the handmade noodles — prepared fresh by the chef right in front of guests, which added a nice touch to the dining experience. While the meat portion was a bit on the smaller side, the quality and flavor made up for it. Alongside the soup, we also ordered the marinated eggs, tofu, and seaweed — all of which complemented the main dish really well. One unexpected detail worth mentioning: the restrooms were exceptionally clean, which is always a nice surprise in a busy, high-traffic restaurant. Price-wise, it was quite reasonable for a place with such a buzz — around €12 per bowl, which feels fair considering the quality and atmosphere. In general, the taste can be regarded as the standard of Munich noodle shops, and other beef noodles are evaluated on this basis. The noodles are sometimes chewy and sometimes not, which is not very stable. In addition, you have to wait in a long line.

Authentic and incredibly delicious!!

The food (Max's Noodle Soup) was tasty, but not outstanding. The noodles were a bit tough and the broth a bit bland. What bothered me, however, was that every two minutes a waiter would check to see if I'd finished my meal, so I could leave quickly and the next one could come. I wasn't offered any tea or crackers while I waited. Cash or PayPal only. Friends is writing about tax evasion.

My son and I have been big fans since it first opened. In recent years, you have to wait in a long line, so I recommend going at opening time. I recommended it to my friends and colleagues, and they all became addicted to Maxnoodle. The owner and his wife always provide attentive service, which I'm very satisfied with. I always want to give them a tip in return, but they never accept it 😅

Max Beef Noodles is always worth a visit! It used to be an absolute insider tip – now there's almost always a line outside, and rightly so. The soups are incredibly delicious, full of flavor, and truly hearty – you really can't go wrong. The gyozas are also fantastic, perfect as a small side dish. The staff are incredibly friendly and always have a smile on their faces, even when it's busy. The decor is rather simple and functional, not a place to linger for hours – but that's not the point. It's all about the food, and it's always a hit.

Great food, great price. If there's a line, definitely get in line, it's worth it.

So... well, unfortunately, this place really doesn't live up to the hype. I agree with some of the opinions expressed here and say that anyone who has ever eaten good, authentic Asian food can't give this place more than 3 stars. The noodles (except for the fact that they're hand-pulled) are really quite boring. The soup wasn't spectacular either. It's not as much fun as you'd expect. Sorry about that. Maybe it used to be better or more authentic here, and it's been adapted to German palates; I don't want to judge too quickly. But yeah, that's my word for Sunday.

One of the best noodle soups I've ever had! The place was very busy, so we had to wait a while. But it didn't take long to get a seat, and the food came very quickly. The service was very friendly.

I ordered Chongqing noodles #25. The dish was outstanding with the perfect amount of heat. You can watch the noodles being made while you eat.

A great little casual restaurant where the food is excellent. Unbeatable for lunch after a workout, and it's not expensive either. You don't have to wait long for your food to be ready! Visited Max’s beef noodles. We had to wait in line for 20 minutes under the blazing sun to enter the restaurant. The sun was so strong that we were sweating. The restaurant was full and lively. We had ordered with an order form before entering the restaurant, so our food was served as soon as we sat down. This spot is a must-visit for noodle lovers! Enjoyed watching chefs artfully stretch springy, chewy noodles. The hand pulled noodles were delicious and the beef literally fell apart in my mouth. The clear, fragrant broth was amazing. No-frills, bustling vibe, and wallet-friendly prices. Perfect for a quick, soul-warming meal. I love it.

It's a small restaurant where you sometimes have to queue but honestly it's worth it! The service is lovely, if you wait outside there's always someone who will come and give you tea, or chips or something else. The noodles are delicious! Downside on the set up of the tables and the heat inside but otherwise it's perfect 😍
