Ichiban Restaurant in München

The worst! We ordered pho soup and basic maki’s! The food was horrible! The pho was maggi cubes! With cheap meat slices! The waiters were actually so rude since we went in the restaurant but my little ones was hungry and it was the only one around us although people in the area did not give us good reviews about it! The waiters were giggling when we asked for a spoon! (Not sure how should we drink the soup and noodles) it was the worse experience ever!

High-quality food and reasonable prices; the weekday lunch menu is recommended. Another very positive aspect is the packaging when picking up the food—some dishes are wrapped without the styrofoam or aluminum foil you often find elsewhere… good!

Once my absolute favorite restaurant, now unfortunately a huge disappointment. Furniture is old and stained, the toilets have smelled like sewers for years. The food has gotten significantly worse. My mistake this time was trying something new and ordering fried calamari. It was the worst version I've ever eaten: there was barely any trace of calamari itself, just a lot of hard, almost burnt breading that looked like it had been fried in old, repeatedly used oil. The regular sushi (6 pieces) cost around €5-7, which is okay, but the so-called special sushi are now €15.40. The menu says there should be 8 pieces – it used to be like that, too. But I was only served 4 pieces. When I asked, I was told they were "bigger" than the regular ones. Yes, they are a bit bigger, but they cost €15.40! At twice the price and half the quantity, you simply feel like you've been ripped off. And then I remembered why I hadn't been here in a long time: The last time I visited, I had ordered a beef pho bo soup for lunch, but instead got one with chicken. When I pointed this out, the owner herself (or rather, the owner's wife) reacted rudely and aggressively: "Are you going to eat the soup or not?" A few minutes later, I received a "corrected" soup – this time with beef, but there were still chicken remnants floating in the broth. An apology? None. Instead, you felt like you were the problem. It's a shame how this restaurant has turned out. One thing is for sure: definitely never again, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

My wife and I love Asian food, especially sushi. We're so lucky to have found a place so close to home that serves delicious food and sushi, has a warm atmosphere, and has friendly staff. The prices are reasonable, too. Reservations are recommended, though. You won't regret it.

Two adults went to dinner today. We had several starters that tasted fresh. Unfortunately, they were a bit bland and lacked seasoning. The main courses were okay. Personally, they didn't appeal to me. The dessert was also okay. Overall, it was okay, with modest portions. The service was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, nothing really impressed me. It's a shame, given the price range, that everything should be perfect, but unfortunately, it isn't.

Super friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere, and truly delicious food. We ordered sushi, the peach iced tea, and mochi and can recommend everything without exception! We'll definitely be back.

What a shame! When we still lived nearby, my husband and I visited this restaurant for the first time and were absolutely thrilled with the restaurant and the service. At the time of our visit, the place was relatively quiet, I must say. Now, passing through, I headed straight to Ichiban and was surprised to find it quite full on a Thursday evening. The staff, especially the oldest lady who greeted me, were very stressed from the start. She immediately told me I only had half an hour because reservations were required and seated me at the entrance. I settled for a small bite and told her I was in a hurry – a sentence I'd never had to say in a restaurant before. Unfortunately, the dessert was still completely frozen and hard. I couldn't really enjoy it. The prices for the dishes were quite steep. So I paid €20 for an appetizer, dessert, and a drink. Unfortunately, the visit wasn't worth the price. I would have expected a bit more hospitality and a sense of service, even with the restaurant being more crowded than usual. Plenty of other restaurants in Munich manage this well. Here, it seems to be all about business.

Papaya salad and bun bo are usually my favorite dishes, but unfortunately, both were tasteless and underwhelming. The parrot fish in my bun bo was inedible. The sushi, however, was quite acceptable. Regarding the ambiance: The chairs and bench were stained, and some decorations and plants would have made it more cozy.

Sushi was very good and the service very friendly

We were there last Saturday, my husband and our daughter first. They arrived right when it opened at 5:30 p.m. Of course, it was quiet; they wanted to sit outside. Everything was available, but they were seated in the blazing sun. My husband asked for a table in the shade, but they were told this was forbidden because they were supposedly all taking up space. Of course, this wasn't the case! That's truly outrageous. Firstly, a child should sit in the blazing sun in 30-degree heat, and secondly, raw fish is left in the sun, too. I went there two hours later with friends. We reserved a table through Open Table, stating that we would like to sit outside. We arrived, and everything was full outside. We were told they couldn't reserve a table outside. But a table for 6 had a reserved sign!? We went inside, which was fine for us. But since all the other guests were sitting outside, the service left a lot to be desired. I had to call for us three times to order another drink. The food is very good as always, but the service, unfortunately, isn't great!

Very good and varied food... friendly service, highly recommended!

Let's start with the good: The staff are all very friendly, and the atmosphere is pleasant. The sushi is really good, and classics like fried noodles with chicken, etc., are also highly recommended. You have to be careful with the "accessories." 1. The vegetable gyoza tasted almost like nothing. 2. What really annoyed me was the chicken satay. For €7.50, we got two measly, bone-dry chicken skewers on a single, slightly brown lettuce leaf (see photo). The chicken was so hard/dry that it was barely edible. After ordering the food to go, laziness naturally won out, but I certainly wouldn't have accepted that in a restaurant. Overall, the basics are good, but the finer details still need to be worked on.

Tasty and authentic Food with Good service

We arrived for dinner around 6:15 p.m., and it was still very quiet. The service was very attentive and very friendly. The food is truly excellent; we had a sushi platter beforehand. There's also a really cute terrace and really good drinks. Overall, everything was great!

€19 for a pho with two pieces of meat. If you ask the owner about it, she just says, "But you're full." What a shame.

It's better to pay by card, otherwise a 22% tip will simply be accepted. Food average and too expensive. I'll eat somewhere in the center of Munich.

Lots of great and unique specials that are hard to find in Munich like soft-shell crab or butter crab rolls. Definitely worth visiting!

Too bad, I had old ingredients in my sushi. And that for a €68 order. It's really a shame that people take advantage of it just because you get the food, but fresh ingredients should still be used. I understand that everything has to go!

Super fresh and tasty prepared food. Really satisfied again for a long time. The only drawback is that there is a toilet smell (unpleasant) in the hallway. But in no way affects the restaurant itself.

Been going to this place for 20+ years, first time back since changing away from running sushi. Amazing chill atmosphere with comfortable couches and a great selection of food and sushi that tasted really good. Well executed and super friendly service even close to closing time.

We were there at lunchtime during the week. The selection of lunch dishes is really large and the prices are really more than fair at lunchtime. I had a crispy chicken dish with satay peanut sauce. The meat was excellent but I particularly liked the peanut sauce. Not as runny as you get them everywhere else, but really nice and creamy and not spicy at all. And there were also small pieces of peanuts scattered around it. Definitely the best peanut sauce I've ever tasted! The service was also very friendly and helpful, even when it was busy, the service was always friendly. We'll definitely be back!

For me the best sushi in Munich (East)! The Pho soup is also the best we found in the room. The location is beautiful as is the ambience. The service was always very good and satisfactory. We always like to come back!

Die Bedienung gab mir die Karte ich solle mich raussetzen. Ca 3min später kam sie an den Tisch, sie machen jetzt Mittagspause ich möge bitte jetzt etwas bestellen oder gehen…. Ähm ja - Danke ich gebe mein Geld aus wo man willkommen ist.

I can't rate the food. It is open until 2:30 p.m. I arrived at 2pm and asked if I could order something to take away. Yes. The waitress gave me the card to sit outside. About 3 minutes later she came to the table, they are now taking their lunch break, I should please order something now or leave…. Um, yes - thanks, I spend my money where I'm welcome.

Das Ichiban bietet wirklich leckere Küche mit tollen Interpretationen von diversen Asia-Gerichten und Sushi. Empfehlenswert ist die Ente und der Feuerlachs. Der Service ist schnell und zuvorkommend, die Preise allerdings etwas zu hoch.

Unfortunately, we had to realize that we are no longer welcome as regular guests, as dogs have recently been no longer allowed in the restaurant, as guests have generally complained about dogs. In our opinion, you are betting on the wrong guests. If you don't like dogs, there's something wrong with you anyway. And our hub is small and totally quiet and unobtrusive. The regular staff is probably no longer there either. We're never coming back. Very unfortunate...

Apparently the operator has changed, there is NO running sushi here. It's a shame that the operator doesn't make it clear on Google and continues to attract people to his restaurant who are looking for running sushi. Unfortunately I wasn't really happy with the food. The sushi was too warm, the wasabi was dry and had no heat at all, and the red curry sauce wasn't hot either. All of this in relation to the price is not worth a second visit for me.

Pretty good fusion Asian, maybe a little expensive but it's okay. The younger waiters in particular were very friendly and helpful. Despite the Wasserburger Landstraße right next door, the ambience outside is not too loud and quite cozy.

Mega nice restaurant, the sushi there is definitely a 10/10 and the Vietnamese food is also fantastic. The waiting time is not long and the service is also very attentive.

Very good Far Eastern cuisine. An insider tip is the softshell crab as a starter. But any other food is also good. The service is extremely courteous and friendly. The restaurant is family run. Unfortunately it's a little outside the center, but it's worth the trip. However, you should have some money with you...

Good Asian restaurant with the usual selection of sushi...

The food was very tasty. However, the prices are high, you have to be aware of that! My record (see picture) cost €38! Price/performance is like that! The waiters were friendly but they could have been more attentive at times! The restaurant is small, so you should make a reservation at peak time! If you want to treat yourself to something, you can definitely do it there! 👍🏻

Nice Vietnamese/Japanese restaurant in Trudering. We had the Bun Bo Nam Bo and Sushi (Nigiri/Inside-Out Role). Everything was excellent and the sushi was super fresh. All highly recommended.

Nettes Sushi Restaurant. Teilweise muss reserviert werden, da sehr viel los sein kann. Auswahl an Speisen überschaubar. Qualität und Service ist sehr zufrieden stellend. Preislich etwas höher. Bei unserem letzten Besuch war es leider ziemlich kalt.

Schmeckt nicht. Der Laden ist hübsch. Und stets bemüht. Aber das reicht nicht. Irgendwie schmeckt alles nach TK und/oder Fertigsauce. Kennt man in Vietnam Maggi-Brühwürfel? Nur die Preise sind authentisch. Der Service ist einigermaßen sympathisch aber leider komplett überfordert. Mit Überwindung 2 Sterne.

Das Personal wurde wegen ein wenig Verspätung laut und unhöflich. Direkt im Abschluss wurden wir bezichtigt, dass wir für 6 Personen reserviert hätten anstatt für 3. Wir zeigten im sofort unsere Reservierungsbestätigung, aber er ließ uns nicht ausreden und noch schlimmer er sah den Fehler seinerseits nicht ein. Der Fehler unsererseits lag darin, dass wir leider noch dort aßen - falsches Essen folgte drauf. Nach dem Essen wollten wir das alles nochmal klarstellen, jedoch reagierte der Kellner noch unhöflicher, wurde ausfallend und behandelte uns von oben herab. So etwas haben wir noch nie erlebt… Hier wird „Kunde ist König“ offensichtlich nicht großgeschrieben.

Super Essen! Ein Restaurant was für absolute Feinschmecker geeignet ist. Super! Nur ein Contra Argument, welches aber nicht bezüglich des Restaurants verabreicht wird : Eine asiatische Buckelmücke war da. Ich musste sie in meiner Soja ergattern musste und Genuss liegt in meinem Interesse und auch nicht in der Schuld des Restaurants doch desto trotz ein super Restaurant. Ich habe meine Anliegen gegenüber der Mücke geäußert. ABER JUNGS IN DER KÜCHE IHR MACHT DAS LECKERSTE ESSEN DER GANZEN; GROßEN , WEITEN UND PRÄCHTIGEN WELT !!! Was ich übrigens noch Empfehle: Nimm 2 Lutschbonbons, Sonntagsspiel, MC Flury mit Oreo und dem perfektioniertem Holzlöffel und Ichiban zu genießen. Rettet jedenfalls meinen ganzen Tag ! Naja ich freu mich, wie ein kleines Kind wiederzukommen und ich liebe das Ichiban Team. Ich kann vor Aufregung kaum noch schlafen morgen probiere ich wieder zu kommen. Ich bin Atreus( Acc Name: Epic Games...) Ich liebeee euch Ichiban mann so tollll !!! Danke.

Wir haben Takeaway bestellt, Kellner am Telefon und vor Ort extrem unfreundlich. Essen nichts besonderes und Preise extrem überteuert. Aufgrund des unfreundlichen Kellner werden wir hier nichtsmehr holen.

Unfreundlich und sehr schlechte Service. Wir gehen nie wieder. Die Kellnerin hat schlecht Deutsch gesprochen und hat anstatt Rind auf Hühner Fleisch verstanden.
