Hurvinek in Dresden

Unfortunately, the lovely evening was marred by the fact that our “Dresden for friends” discount card was not accepted by the server, even after a long discussion. Completely incomprehensible and unfriendly, because the reservation process specifically asks for it and therefore the restaurant, which uses a reservation portal specifically for this purpose, should have known about it.

Positive: Telephone reservations worked without any problems. Friendly service and chic ambience. The starter and main course were delicious. Negative for 1 star deduction: - Goulash was very little for the price (see picture) - Radler was more soda than beer (weird mixing ratio) - Pancakes were rather rubbery (tasted like they were ready, just warmed up again and the cream that went with it was spray cream)

We didn't have a reservation and got the last free table for two. Super delicious food

Very nice restaurant. Fast service, huge portions and fair prices. Only negative; I would like to have the restaurant at home in Berlin. But it's in Dresden, so I only go there twice a year at most.

I have often been a satisfied guest at Hurvinek. But the price-performance ratio has deteriorated greatly. Instead of 2 pieces of meat for the sirloin roast as usual, only 1 piece and that for about 3 € more. !! This is how you lose guests

Everyone thought the food was great. The service was great Large printed sheets of paper with colored pencils were available for all children (we had reserved). The only bad thing was that there were no direct parking spaces, you had to look for something on the street.

We were here yesterday evening. The food was delicious. The staff was friendly and polite.

An excellent restaurant! We were at the Panometer Dresden today and before we started we wanted to have lunch. Of course we didn't have a reservation... When we were there, all the tables were reserved. The waitress briefly checked the book and we were immediately given a table for five people. The drinks were at the table very quickly, the food was TOP and there for everyone after 15 minutes. If we are in Dresden again we will definitely go there again, but then with a reservation because the restaurant was really well filled. Thank you and please keep it up!

Wir hatten zu einer Geburtstagsfeier der 85jährigen Oma in dieses Restaurant eingeladen. Wir hatten einen Tisch bestellt. Auf die Frage am Eingang, ob wir auch draußen sitzen dürfen, wurde das erste Mal unhöflich und aggressiv geantwortet. Wir suchten dann unseren bestellten Tisch. Auf den Tischen gab es keine Reserviertschilder mit Namen. Wieder wurden wir mehr als unhöflich und genervt auf unseren Tisch hingewiesen. Die Oma wollte für jeden ein Glas Sekt bestellen, wir erhielten zur Antwort "Da muss man eine Flasche nehmen". Nun gut, wir bestellten Prosecco. Dieser kam dann warm und konnte nicht getrunken werden. Das Essen besteht zum Großteil nur aus vier riesigen Scheiben Knödeln. Beim Hauptgericht Szegediner Gulasch waren 4 kleine Stücken Fleisch, der Rest Sauerkraut und die vier Knödel. Es ist sehr traurig, dass dieser Abend nicht schön war und wir uns mehr geärgert haben.

Excellent Czech restaurant in Dresden. The portions are large and the good is very tasty. I took the tartar and loved it. It's probably the most generous portion of tartar I've ever seen. The omlete and salad that we had were also really good. The portions were so generous that we could not finish everything.

Typically Czech very good and delicious food! When it was warm there was a house lemonade. This was also very tasteful and refreshing. We tested the restaurant through Dresden For Friends and would love to come back.

Great ambience, nice outdoor terrace. There is good Bohemian cuisine at fair prices. The food comes very quickly, tastes good and fills you up. Pilsner Urquell on tap or your own Pilsner, half a liter for less than €5! There is parking on the street in front. Reservation recommended, even on weekdays.

Our meeting was short but pleasantly surprising. I was here spontaneously with 2 children, the service was nice and the food came very quickly (just have to note that we were the only guests at the time). Tasty and the portions are adequately sized) there is a children's menu and, without request, there were also colorful pens and coloring pictures. The only drawback - there is also a small playground planned here, but unfortunately the slide is broken and the carousel doesn't work. It would be better to have removed it already so as not to attract the children with it... or even better, of course, to put something new - that would certainly attract a lot of customers) Overall, we are still very satisfied and will definitely come back!

Rustic Czech restaurant a little outside the city center in Dresden. Great Czech cuisine, the Tatar is highly recommended and just as good as Prague directly including the delicious Topinki. Service was friendly and quick.

The best restaurant with Bohemian specialties in Dresden.

The meat was tender, but the sauce tasted a bit artificial and the dumplings were almost drowned in it, which is not to everyone's taste. Due to the large number of guests, the service staff were somewhat overwhelmed.

Obwohl uns per E-Mail eine Reservierung für 11:30 Uhr bestätigt wurde, mussten wir feststellen, dass das Lokal erst um 12:00 Uhr öffnet. Beim Versuch, das Lokal zu betreten, wurde uns die Tür vor der Nase geschlossen. Ein kleiner Hinweis im Voraus hätte genügt, da wir nicht über die tatsächlichen Öffnungszeiten informiert waren. Das Problem wurde von uns höflich dem Personal geschildert. Leider war die Reaktion des Personals äußerst desinteressiert und unfreundlich. Zudem war der bereitgestellte Kinderhochstuhl stark verschmutzt. Aufgrund dieser Vorkommnisse haben wir das Lokal unmittelbar verlassen und wurden dabei auch noch höhnisch verabschiedet. Unter diesen Umständen können wir das Lokal nicht weiterempfehlen und raten anderen Gästen, ein anderes Restaurant zu wählen.

Although we were confirmed by email with a reservation for 11:30 a.m., we discovered that the restaurant doesn't open until 12:00 p.m. When we tried to enter the restaurant, the door was closed in our faces. A little notice in advance would have been enough as we were not informed about the actual opening times. We politely explained the problem to the staff. Unfortunately, the staff's reaction was extremely disinterested and unfriendly. In addition, the high chair provided was very dirty. Because of these incidents, we left the restaurant immediately and were greeted with a mocking farewell. We cannot recommend the restaurant and advise other guests to choose another restaurant!

Good Czech cuisine, friendly service, cozy restaurant and huge portions at reasonable prices. We visited Hurvinek for the first time today and had a lovely stay. The restaurant is in a quiet area and has a small beer garden. It is comfortably furnished in the style of the well-known characters Hurvinek and Spejbl, the two most famous puppets of the Czech puppeteer Josef Skupa. A reservation is an advantage here. It is not handicapped accessible and not barrier-free. You have to climb several steps to get to the entrance. We had reserved and were assigned a nice table. We were served very quickly and very friendly. There are Czech beer and schnapps, as well as various non-alcoholic drinks. The menu is large and sufficient, there is traditional and modern Czech cuisine, small dishes, soup, main courses, fish and dessert. The map can be viewed in its entirety on the website. We had garlic soup, schnitzel with mushroom sauce and Bohemian dumplings and roast beef in cream sauce with Bohemian dumplings. The portions were very large, nice and hot and appetizingly prepared. It was absolutely delicious, I couldn't fault it. The garlic soup was really good, something completely different, I had never heard of the broth with meat, cheese and fresh garlic. The roast was tender and soft, the cream sauce was very tasty, the dumplings were perfect. The schnitzel was huge, the meat was a bit thicker and the mushroom sauce was simply brilliant. The prices are absolutely fair, the price-performance ratio is right. Top 5 stars, Czech cuisine with something different, superbly implemented.

Short version: Super unfriendly and rude staff and dirty seating. You can save yourself the visit. We had reservations for 11:30am on a Saturday. Reservation was confirmed in writing by email from an employee. On the day of the reservation, our party (7 people) had the door closed in their faces as we gathered in front of the entrance. The staff behind the glass door also doesn't respond to knock attempts. The restaurant opened, as we were later told, at 12 p.m. We waited. When we entered the restaurant 30 minutes later, we briefly talked to the staff about it. The staff was disinterested and unfriendly. We had also requested high chairs in advance and they were dirty and provided at the reserved place. The staff didn't care either and we quickly decided to leave the store. We were bid farewell scornfully by the staff. Clearly. No recommendation.

Friendly and local staff. You didn't have to wait long for the food. Unfortunately the fries were thin and therefore too dry, not my cup of tea or taste. The steak was tender and the crust was crispy.

The Bohemian cuisine is absolutely rustic and recommended. Goulash, dumplings etc. as you wish. We only had negative experiences with the operating staff because, as DresdenforFriends cardholders, we communicated that we were taking part in the program before placing our seats. The billing attendant then briskly discussed that we hadn't registered it, even though it was one and the same person. Unfortunately, we felt like supplicants or guests who were unwanted. It's a shame, then don't take part in such a program!

We celebrated a birthday here today. I would particularly like to highlight the super friendly and attentive staff. The portions are large and reasonable for the price. The fried potatoes as a side dish weren't convincing, but everything else was super tasty. You can also swap side dishes 😉 The Hurvinek Radler is also delicious. We'll definitely be back!

Friendly staff. Although there was no reservation, after a short moment we got a table for 6 people. And this at lunchtime. Typical, tasty Czech-style food and drinks. Therefore a recommended restaurant.

The portions are very generous (especially the dumplings...), the quality of the food is slightly above average, the staff is friendly and quick, but the prices hurt a little..... Luckily we had reserved online and I can only recommend it to everyone!
