Extremely delicious Bohemian food. 100% recommended.

Today we ate at your restaurant for about an hour. It wasn't particularly busy—maybe four or five tables were occupied. I ordered a pork steak; the meat was dry on the outside, but mushy on the inside. During the entire hour, the server never came to our table to ask if everything was okay or if we needed anything else. At the other tables, however—especially a German table—the server did so several times. Why the difference? As we left the restaurant, a German family walked in front of us. Two employees said goodbye to them very warmly and with a smile. But when we followed them, the smiles immediately disappeared, and they didn't say a word to us—not until I gave them an annoyed look. I speak German very well, and we even left a tip—which, in my opinion, the server didn't deserve. Is this the kind of service we should expect here?

We've eaten here several times, and it's absolutely delicious and highly recommended. I booked a table the same day, and that was absolutely the right decision. It was very busy and well worth it. We'd love to go back.

No card payments for months! Apparently something's broken. So we won't be coming in anymore.

The two of us went for lunch on Tuesday. I'll keep it short and sweet. I'm giving it three stars solely for the good food, which is still affordable these days. The service from the young blonde lady was catastrophically unfriendly, and the restrooms could be cleaned more often. Please strive for friendlier service and cleaner restrooms.

We had a reservation. The food came very quickly and the portions were generous. Unfortunately, the service was lacking. Questions were met with eye rolls. Drinks were initially not served because part of the group was running late. Then it couldn't come fast enough. Not a word wasted. The waitresses seemed unmotivated. What a shame!

I absolutely recommend the Pilsner beef goulash! The meat was super tender and tender. It was beautifully seasoned, and the Bohemian dumplings were also perfect. All in all, highly recommended.

We've been to Hurvinek many times and enjoy going there with each of our visitors. The staff is always very helpful and friendly (although yesterday we were a bit off guard, which made one of the employees seem a bit rude at first, but that was primarily due to the lunch rush). The food at Hurvinek is always amazing, without exception. Absolutely top-notch quality and taste, always beautifully presented, and 100% authentic Czech cuisine. A visit to Hurvinek truly makes you feel like you're in the middle of the Czech Republic—only the prices quickly bring you back to German reality. :D But it's worth every cent! You should definitely reserve a table here as far in advance as possible, as the restaurant is usually very busy. Only in groups of two or three can you get lucky without a reservation.

The staff is very rude. The young waiter refused to serve guests, even though there were free seats. They refused in a rude manner.

We've been here several times over the years. Super delicious food. We made a reservation three months in advance for my 30th birthday today. When we asked for a table that suited us, we weren't given one because it was a table for five, and there were four of us. We politely asked if it was possible. The male waitress then said, "Kdyz se vam to nelibi, muzete jit domu" (translated: "If you don't like it, you can go home.") And that even though we asked very calmly, and it wouldn't have been a big problem. Super rude and disrespectful man. Never again.

The staff only addresses Germans in a commanding tone. This is a restaurant in Dresden where Germans are not welcome. The food and atmosphere are a disaster. The staff have no respect for German guests!

Everything tastes very delicious

Delicious Czech food and Czech beer. Friendly and attentive service. The beer garden on the street is a bit noisy, but still manageable.

Loved this place and will definitely go back. Sitting in the beer garden with their beer and hearty food was definitely very pleasant. Portions are generous and well done (I really recommend their tatar!!), and the presence of Hurvinek pictures along with Czech language really made me feel like I'm across the border.

The food was good. If you sit outside in the summer, you're sitting on a busy street. The portions are generous. There are discounts with the Dresden for Friends card. A definite no-go were three items totaling over €10 that we didn't eat. I can only recommend checking the bills carefully before paying! We won't be going there again!

We went there for dinner with friends last night. Unfortunately, you couldn't pay by card, and we only found out when we got there, so we had to run to the nearest bank. The food was absolutely delicious, but it felt like an eternity before we could order our first drinks. There were very few staff on hand, so everything was a bit slow this time. It's a shame, as it's usually very nice. The menu was completely fragmented, and not everything was available to order. Dear staff, take heart and pull yourselves together for another great restaurant. The Zimmermann family from Schmiedeberg.

A solid Czech restaurant with fair prices. We went there on a weekday without a reservation and sat outside. The food arrived relatively quickly, and the service was friendly and good.

A restaurant with a guarantee of good food. The portions are getting smaller these days and the prices are getting more expensive. What I don't agree with, however, is the "card reader broken" status that's been going on for months. Will the repair take a long time? At those prices, you can't just pay cash for four people. It's a shame, so you don't go there.

We really enjoy being guests here – we've even been here with friends and had some great evenings! Today we wanted to bring our friends a gift from here. It was supposed to be a bottle of potato schnapps... as I said, it was supposed to be. Unfortunately, the obliging waitress told us that the 0.7 L bottle costs a whopping €100...???? Really?

We ate here on Sunday in a group of 11. We were all very satisfied with the food, service, and ambiance. We were informed in advance that card payments weren't possible.

We wanted to go out to eat today for our wedding anniversary and had made a special reservation online for two people a few days in advance. But when we arrived we found a notice outside saying that card payments weren't accepted. We went in anyway and asked why we hadn't been informed because at 5 p.m. on Monday immediately after opening there were no guests, which suggested that the waiter was stressed or otherwise unavailable. No one can tell me that it's not possible to take a quick look at the reservations and send an email with a brief update, especially as it was holiday season and there was nothing going on on Monday. Or at least some information on the website. The waiter's explanation that you can only expect information for groups of 5 or more people was absolutely outrageous. In the past we have always been very satisfied with the food and the service. But this time it was an absolute no-go. They probably don't need it anymore and it doesn't matter if you scare away guests like that. One star is still too many here.

Super delicious, traditional and modern Czech dishes

Actually, a nice place with delicious food. Friendly staff, large portions, and the service is quick. I still have to leave a bad review. The first reason: a sign at the entrance that says "Card payment defective." It's been hanging there for weeks. Card terminals cost €50 wholesale. There's no ATM nearby, so many arriving guests cursed. The second reason is the quality of the food. I had topinka and garlic soup. Unfortunately, I didn't feel well that night with stomach cramps and diarrhea. That's not good, especially since other reviewers have experienced similar things. It's a shame, so I'd warn you, "Beware."

We'd had good experiences with the food in the past, so we wanted to eat here today (July 20, 2025, around 2:30 p.m.). Unfortunately, with outside temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius and the restaurant almost empty, we were only offered seats in the sun and partial shade, or in a very drafty spot inside, even though there were plenty of free tables with shade. The reason given was "I'm waiting for reservations" (around 2:30 p.m.!). Due to the very rude greeting, we left. Service could be better. Unfortunately, we wouldn't recommend it today.

We've been to Hurvinek many times and have always been very satisfied. But today was the last! The staff were unfriendly, uninterested, and obviously overwhelmed. The cell phone with the Dresden for Friends card was ignored, although we should have clearly pointed this out. Card payments have not been accepted for weeks, and guests only receive an interim receipt when paying. Not very hospitable, unprofessional, and not something we would recommend. The service is different. We won't be seeing anyone there again anytime soon, and we advise everyone against visiting at this time.

This is our second time here. We love the restaurant. But it seems like many people feel the same way, because without a reservation, you almost have no chance. I 100% recommend it.

Good food but the service is terrible. We have been going to this restaurant for a few years, but today was the last time. The waitress there was friendly, but the waiter was completely rude, even to our children. There's nothing worse than a person who's rude to children, and even worse if it's in a language one doesn't understand. What a pity, because the food was always yummy...

We arrived at 8:25 p.m. and were immediately turned away at the gate, only offering drinks! Even though the restaurant is open until 10 p.m. The waiter seemed very unfriendly!

We've been there twice so far, both times with reservations (which can be arranged at short notice), in the summer and early in the evening, so we could sit outside and it wasn't crowded. The food came very quickly and the atmosphere was pleasant (the street noise was still bearable). The food was very tasty (we had goulash, salads, and a schnitzel dish), and the portions were absolutely sufficient for us. At some neighboring tables, the plates were so full I could have eaten off them for two days. :-D (Perhaps they could add a few more flexible "children's"/"senior portions" to the menu. You can have leftovers packed to take home (we did that once, it wasn't a problem), but perhaps not all guests dare to do that, and it's a shame when leftovers end up being thrown away.)

We arrived without a reservation and got a table. The ambiance is nicely decorated with hand puppets. We had a Hermelin cheese beforehand, which I consider overpriced; we paid almost €10 for a small Cambert marinated in oil. I had the fire-roasted beef with fries, which was okay, and my friend had goulash, which was also fine. We paid €75 for two people with an appetizer and a drink each. Without an appetizer, I probably wouldn't have been full; the portion sizes could be more "Czech," i.e., "larger"! Reservations are recommended! The service was prompt, the food and drinks arrived quickly, although the waitress seemed slightly annoyed that we hadn't made a reservation.

I had imagined something different. The staff was mediocre, and the food was unrealistic for the price! If you're looking for something more upscale, this restaurant isn't recommended. The menus themselves are beyond description. Plus, they don't accept card payments. I don't need that a second time!

I do not recommend. They serve poor quality meat (I got old, spoiled meat), I tried to complain about it, but they convinced me that it was okay. I ended up in the hospital for gastric lavage. I do not wish this on anyone.

Overall, a nice restaurant with a good selection of Czech and modern dishes and delicious beers. Unfortunately, the day we were there, the service wasn't that friendly. They seemed very stressed. The meat in my burger wasn't that fresh either, and it tasted of old fat. That was a bit of a shame. However, the duck with red cabbage and Bohemian dumplings was excellent!

We ate there last night. When we entered the restaurant we noticed that it was uncomfortably warm. We opened a couple of windows to let in some air. The service was very poor. One lady was friendly but it was noticeable that there weren't enough staff there. She must have been in the kitchen at the same time. We had to keep asking for drinks ourselves. The food was tasty but we all thought there were way too many dumplings on the plate compared to the amount of meat. To pay we had to look for staff again and even went into the kitchen to find someone. What a shame, a disappointing experience and we won't be coming back.

My boyfriend and I went there for lunch today, having made a reservation yesterday. Friendly staff, delicious food, and very generous portion sizes. You'll definitely be more than full, and the homemade lemonades are highly recommended. We'll definitely be back.

We reserved a table here as inspiration for our concert at the Junge Garde. The garlic soup was unusual for me, but very tasty. The goulash was a dream, and the Bohemian dumplings were light and delicious. And attentive waiters and waitresses were always there to check on us without being intrusive. All at affordable prices. Keep up the good work, we'll definitely be back 👍😋

Had to wait 1 1/2 hours for food

Three of us came here for dinner. The service was unfriendly. The steak came with a sauce so spicy I couldn't eat it. It took my breath away for several minutes. So I asked for mayonnaise for my fries. My friend asked for mustard with his knuckle of pork. In the end, we had to pay €1.50 each for mayo and mustard. I find that outrageous.

Very disappointing behavior from the waitress. Even though the restaurant was practically empty, we were refused entry without a reservation. When I asked if we could sit outside I was told that the garden wasn't open yet - although there were customers sitting in the garden who were given dishes for a table outside shortly after we left the restaurant. We were there for dinner and ordered typical local dishes. Even though the restaurant was almost empty, the food took a long time and the male waiter was very abrupt and not friendly. The food (ox cheeks, roast beef) was very bland or tasted like nothing - very disappointing, especially when you look at the other reviews... Unfortunately we won't be able to eat anymore...

So the place was very nice but also very stuffy, what bothered me was firstly the music and then firstly the food - the food took a bit of a long time and then it was cold where it was in front of me... What I also found strange was when we walked through the dining area outside, all the tables outside were reserved but no one was ever sitting outside.. Strange..

We were here for the first time, but unfortunately also the last time... The food was super tasty and plentiful. Unfortunately, the service was the complete opposite, the first round of drinks went relatively quickly, when the first glasses were empty, we had to wave over to the waitress to be able to order something else, after the meal there were simply no more drinks, all the glasses at the table were empty, no one felt responsible and when the good woman walked past us, she did it very quickly and ignored us. After three quarters of an hour without drinks, at least someone came to pay. Of course, with this service there wasn't a cent tip, which visibly annoyed the gentleman who charged us... It's his own fault if the staff doesn't feel like working.

The quality of the food is very good and the portions are generous. On weekends you should make a reservation as this restaurant is very busy. We would love to come back.

OUTRAGEOUS HIGH 10! First of all: We WERE regular customers at Hurvinek. This restaurant developed drastically NEGATIVE over time. While a few months ago you would find humane prices and hospitality, today you need a lot of patience (both with the food, with the prices and with the operators) Over the last 3 months we have visited Hurvinek 3 times, but only had an overpriced meal once. The first two times we were simply sent away again because the kitchen was supposedly closing time (8 p.m. & 7 p.m.!!). No friendly hello, no "Excuse me...", simply no manners whatsoever. In plain English: Big eyes and nothing behind it. Today is the 3rd attempt. After a WAITING TIME OF 90 MINUTES!!!!!!! we finally got our food. The scheduled family planning was therefore over for this day. The "understanding" employee explained: "When it's so busy, you ALWAYS have to wait a long time." - Thanks for the tip. Absolutely professional. So the problem is known? - Yes. Solution-oriented work? - No. The main reason for our visit today, however, was the ad for the restaurant via Dresden for Friends. Since we are regular customers of the restaurant, we have been able to take advantage of the offer a few times in the past. Both in Dresden and in Pirna! In an exemplary manner, the DDFF card was always pointed out (before ordering), while the last two times it was said "Yes, okay, that's enough for us at the end". Today we pointed to our card at the end and our discount was NOT granted - and again in a way that was disgusting! Discuss at kindergarten level. A loss of around €20 for us. A profit of around €100 for Hurvinek from the unused DDFF offer. Brief information about the premises: Cables and cable covers are lying around unattached. Tables & chairs wobble. And toilets are out of order. (Attached a photo) A tip to the operators: WE are your GUESTS, not your FRIENDS or relatives. If simple, friendly social behavior fails, this restaurant is not worth continuing to support. THIS WAS OUR (& all our friends/relatives) LAST VISIT TO HURVINEK.

Nothing special, the restaurant is dark, sadly decorated, not very cozy. The food was definitely average, the vegetarian offer was very limited, but the drinks were okay.

The portions are generous, just hearty cuisine. The service is very fast, very friendly and super helpful. The ambience is very okay, even if there are one or two small stumbling blocks. We went here for lunch for the first time today. Very nice restaurant, nice service, good food and acceptable prices.

Ordered food to take away over the phone. The goulash hardly had any sauce or meat, but there were four dumplings, one of which was enough for the sauce. Both the dumplings and the goulash were well sealed, but everything was still cold. For eating at home, definitely not a recommendation and very disappointing.
