Hündeleskopfhütte - die erste rein vegetarische Hütte in den Alpen in Pfronten

During my hiking holiday in the Allgäu, I also visited the Hündleskopfhütte. The first vegetarian hut in the Alps promised to be an interesting rest stop. I was not disappointed in any way: 1. The location with a magnificent view of the mountains and the Alpine foothills. 2. The exceptional menu. 3. The fantastic, freshly prepared food; I had the Alpine wrap, which was absolutely delicious. 4. The overall ambiance around and in the hut. 5. The very friendly hut staff. If you pass by here and don't stop for a rest, it's your own fault.

We had a stunningly beautiful wedding at the Hündeleskopfhütte. All our guests raved about the delicious food and the beautiful ambiance. Since the celebration on the terrace was canceled due to rain, Sylvia simply set up a gazebo, which made us incredibly happy. We thank you so much for EVERYTHING! The celebration was cozy and perfect for us.

We went there after a long mountain hike because the hut had been recommended to us. The first impression was a bit disappointing; the tables at the front are completely crooked on the slope. We had to be careful not to drop our drinks. We ordered the Kässpatzen (cheese spaetzle) and the hut wrap. It took forever to get everything, and we were unfortunately quite disappointed with the portions. It wasn't Kässpatzen (cheese spaetzle) with salad, but rather a large salad with small side dishes—Kässpatzen (cheese spaetzle), and the hut wrap was a pancake filled with the same salad. It tasted good. But if you're really hungry after a good mountain hike, this is not the place for you.

Wow! This hut is a dream for mountain and animal lovers! 🌱 🏔️ I especially recommend the vegan cheese spaetzle and the vegan chocolate cake 😍 We'll be back!

A must-visit! Everything is simply amazing! The food is top-notch! The owner and staff are super friendly. The view is breathtaking! We would definitely come back!

A rustic hut with delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes. The cheese spaetzle with salad was super delicious, and the salad was lovingly prepared and prepared. And the view from the top over the valley is definitely worth it! - Unless there's a wall of rain hanging in front of it... 😉

Simply gorgeous! Superbly decorated, delicious vegan food, and friendly staff. After a short hike, it's the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat. :) I'll be coming back again and again! Very high-quality, organic food!

We were really looking forward to the vegan Kässpatzen (cheese spaetzle) – we think the idea of ​​offering a plant-based version of this traditional dish is great and absolutely contemporary. Unfortunately, the execution wasn't really successful. The spaetzle were quite dry, and the onions, which were supposed to give the dish depth and flavor, were almost raw. Classic roasted or melted onions would certainly work much better here and add more flavor and a mountain hut feel. The side salad wasn't particularly special either – simple and rather unloving, with no special ingredients or an interesting dressing. The outdoor seating wasn't ideal either: Many spots were in the tall grass or at such an angle that relaxing was hardly possible. The path to the hut was beautiful, though, and the hut itself is quaint and has a lot of charm. We would definitely come back and try something different – ​​the potential is definitely there.

How nice it was here! It was my birthday surprise, and they ordered me a vegan portion of Spätzle, highly recommended the lasagna and lentil soup! But then all with a magnificent view, still fair prices, friendly service (they even started singing at some point! 🤩)

Superb hut - Food is truly homemade, which is unfortunately not a given these days. Compared to other huts, the prices are not only reasonable, but also moderate. Especially considering the quality of the ingredients. (Unfortunately, the experience at an increasing number of huts is that poor to average ready-made food is served at overpriced prices.) We were completely thrilled: The food was outstanding and tasted absolutely fantastic – fresh, delicious, and prepared with love. The service was also first-class: attentive, warm, and incredibly friendly. We especially loved the cute dog in the hut – you just fell in love with him! The value for money here is definitely spot on. You get great quality at fair prices. We'd definitely be happy to come back and are already looking forward to our next visit!

We pre-ordered vegan Kässpatzen (you're supposed to pre-order vegan, but it's only mentioned online, not on the menu) and it was delicious! They also serve a salad with a topping of sesame seeds, toasted buckwheat, etc. You order, take a drink from the fridge, and pay at the end. There's a relaxed dog at the hut who loves children.

A beautifully situated hut with a fantastic view of the valley. A lovely sun terrace. Rustic furnishings. Delicious, exclusively vegetarian or vegan food. Very friendly staff. Easily accessible via a road or, for a more scenic approach, via various mountain trails. Vegan cheese spaetzle is available upon reservation. Vegetarian options are also available without prior reservation. Kaiserschmarrn (sweet pancakes) is available upon request. Cakes are also delicious.

Beautifully situated hut with delicious food and drinks! Highly recommended! The climb up there is also easy with children, as the paths are paved and only the last short stretch leads through the forest.

Highly recommended! They freshly prepared vegan Kaiserschmarren especially for us (incredibly delicious!), and the vegan hut wrap was also delicious. Our dog was also warmly welcomed (water bowls are provided everywhere). A must-visit if you're in the area :)

Such wonderful, delicious, and fresh food! There's no shortage of meat at all, and it's great that there are actually restaurant owners who do this. It makes you wonder why some people get upset about it, but these people are simply dissatisfied with everything and their lives.

The hut is easy to reach, but the climb is a bit steep. Friendly hosts and a beautiful view. The cheese spaetzle with salad was delicious and absolutely reasonable (May 2025). Be careful! When it's cold outside and the huge stove is roaring in the cozy living room, you just want to stay put.

Wonderful little hike. About an hour from Röfleuten. Very friendly hostess, delicious cakes, and a sweet dog.

Highly recommended. A lovely, cozy, warm hut where you can feel at home. You can simply order food at the counter and get drinks outside, which I think is great. We had vegan zucchini lasagna and a vegan wrap, which were really delicious. For dessert, we had the vegan chocolate cake, which we also really enjoyed. We were there with two dogs and had no problems with the owner's dog. Simply a great experience, and we'd love to go back if we're on holiday nearby.

Wonderful hut - I was able to visit it as part of a wedding celebration. The food was super tasty and high quality. The landlady & the staff were very welcoming! For us it was a complete success. Also perfect as an excursion destination for the family!

Unfortunately, the Hündleskopfhütte failed to indicate on its Google account that until April 9th. It is closed and it showed us that it is actually open. We would have been happy to come by, but please let other hikers know on Google in the future that it is currently closed. Nobody looks at websites these days.

Beautiful, cozy cabin with very friendly staff. The food (zucchini lasagna and lentil soup) was very tasty, but the portions were very small, even though we already chose the larger portion, so a star deduction because the price-performance ratio wasn't quite right for us.

Certainly not a bad idea, but very poorly implemented. The food looked really tasty, but it was very difficult to enjoy on a Saturday because the hut was completely full and there were people everywhere outside, so you were just standing on each other's feet and you couldn't even place an order in a well-structured manner. In my opinion, there is a lot of catching up to do in terms of service.

A really special experience. Easily accessible for children thanks to the snow hike with the sleigh. Food was delicious, the zucchini lasagna was 30 minutes later than the other dishes due to the crowds in the weather and was unfortunately not cooked through, but was definitely edible. The poppy seed cake for dessert is particularly delicious. There is self-service and you just pay afterwards - what trust😊 Toilets are available and okay. The view and sun terrace are great. Departure with the sleigh is great, in the summer as a circular route with the Kappeler Alp.

Short hike from the Kappel car park to the hut. The food was very fresh and tasty, we ordered the vegan wrap and the zucchini lasagne. Very friendly hosts, it was definitely worth the visit😊

What a location! The Terrace is absolutely heavenly and the wooden hut looks fresh out of a Heidi film. The love and attention to everything is clear wherever you look. I had a most delicious Hüttenwrap. The vegetarian/vegan philosophy is a refreshing change to the ‘standard’ that is found in most the huts in the area. An unexpected closing highlight was having to go over to Grandma to pay. ;-)

The hut is small but very cozy. Since the vegetarian offerings on alpine pastures are very limited, I was pleasantly surprised when I heard about the overall vegetarian concept. Unfortunately, the vegan lasagna wasn't that convincing, the Kaiserschmarrn was okay.

The Kaiserschmarrn was good and was freshly prepared although it wasn't on the menu (it's not always there) but it wasn't one of the best I've eaten. The zucchini lasagna was more of a vegetable casserole without pasta sheets and very dry. Probably from warming up. As a vegetarian, I think the idea and concept is great, as it is quite difficult to find vegetarian dishes in the huts, but the food is not completely convincing. Very unfortunate.

Beautiful rustic mountain hut with nice people. The food is delicious and prepared quickly. Self-service and at the end You pay with a grandma who has made herself comfortable in the hut. I enjoy coming here every holiday. Thank you for the trust you have placed in us.

We were traveling with our dog and were given a very friendly welcome! The place is cozy, with a lot of attention to detail... you immediately feel at home. We will definitely stop by again at some point and enjoy such good vegan food. 🌿

A very nice hut. Unfortunately our wrap was only filled with iceberg lettuce. The taste was ok, but the vegetables were completely missing, as stated in the menu. 12.50 euros is too much for that. The Bergler bread was very small and almost without any garnish. 6 euros for this is too expensive. The bread tasted very good.

We took a wonderful break on the mountain pasture. The food and drinks were perfect after the climb. We would hike to this alpine pasture again at any time, especially because of the vegetarian and vegan options. It was very tasty! The staff was super friendly and we felt very comfortable.

The food is good and it's great that there's some vegan options. If everything is regional and freshly prepared, the high price for the food is justified. I think the drink prices are totally exaggerated. 4.50 and self-service for beer is already steep. The view is of course fantastic.

Silli and Lucky welcomed us like family. We ate the zucchini lasagna, the cheese sparrows (in “small”) and the lentil soup. And what should we say? As a small farewell greeting there was a vegan chocolate cake and a glass of vegan chocolate mousse. We'll be back soon!!

Very nice alpine hut with vegetarian and vegan dishes. The climb through the forest is steep and leads over many roots and stones - not suitable in bad weather. The other route leads along an asphalt road. From the parking lot in Kappel to the hut it takes about 60 minutes and 280 meters in altitude.

Only vegetarian? Oh dear, not for me and that's a reason not to go there anymore, but there are enough people who don't eat meat, I find it provocative towards meat eaters.

We parked in the town's hiking car park and then walked up for about an hour. Very high incline in between. Beautiful view. Everything we ate was completely vegan. 🌱

Every time an experience and an incredible view

Discovered by chance while hiking today. I think it's great that there is only vegetarian and vegan food. Had the vegan chocolate cake, it tasted very good. In addition to the good selection of food and drinks, you also have a great view from the terrace. I would be happy if other huts would follow suit and avoid meat.

I discovered the hut through a Facebook group and just had to go there, even if it sounds strange because there is a house dog :-).And tata the dog is awesome. Now to the hut, I'm an absolute carnivore but the vegetarian food was super tasty. We had the wrap and the Kaiserschmarrn. The employees and the boss were very nice and friendly. The hut is really cute. The hike is also great for holiday hikers, the first part is a little steep but you are not on the run. Definitely worth it. We will be back definitely.

The hut is comfortably furnished. The food was prepared very quickly and tasted very good. The service was attentive and friendly. The menu is very varied. The house lemonade was also very good. Our dogs were also welcome.

We've heard a lot about the first vegetarian hut, so we really wanted to go here. We went hiking first and then went to the hut for lunch. The view was incredibly beautiful ☀️ The food was okay, but unfortunately not as outstanding as expected. We had the vinegar taste in our food twice! It's a real shame, otherwise it would have been really tasty... Unfortunately, the landlady wasn't really welcoming either

Nice short mountain hiking tour! The stop is a must in every respect. Plus the mountain view... what more do you need?

The food is delicious and highly recommended, but every time we go there something is off. Sometimes the bread, then specials, then mineral water. Last time we had to pay 3 euros for a glass of tap water. We found that a bit outrageous. But we will come back because of the good food, just bring our own drink.

sehr schöne Hütte, vegetarisches Essen tolle Aussicht. Der Aufstieg lohnt sich und für den Spaß Retoure ist auch gesorgt. Da kann man dann mit dem Schlitten ins Tal rauschen.

Sehr schöne kleine uhrige Hütte mit sehr sympathischer Hüttenwirtin! Wir hatten Glück und haben einen Platz bekommen! Ich habe ein Pakistanisches Gericht mit Kartoffeln und Spinat gegessen, war sehr sehr lecker! Man kommt recht leicht zu der Hütte und hat einen schönen Ausblick!

Grandiose Aussicht mit noch besserem Essen! Die Hütte stand schon lange auf meiner Liste, da ich eine Glutenunverträglchkeit habe und mich vegan ernähre. Die Lasagne war ein Traum -absolute Empfehlung!🥰 Es wird alles frisch zubereitet und mit sehr viel Liebe hergerichtet. Definitiv nicht mein letzter Besuch.

Achtung frei laufende Hunde (!) Wir sind extra heute zur Hütte hoch gewandert, Innenraum brechend voll, dazu noch 4 frei laufende Hunde innen und außen in / an der Hütte!!! Wir hatten unseren eigenen Hund auch dabei, natürlich mit Leine und Geschirr! Und mussten dann vor dem Hund der Hütte flüchten, der unserem Hund gedroht und nachgestellt hat! Wir hätten die Hütte gerne getestet aber sind dann lieber zur Kappele Hütte gelaufen, die wesentlich gesitteter war.

Sehr gutes Essen, klar man braucht etwas Zeit, aber da frisch gekocht wird muss man damit rechnen. Wir hatten die Kässpatzen die sehr lecker und gut gewürzt waren. In der Wartezeit kann man die Aussicht genießen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder 😊

Sehr gemütliche Hütte mit super netter Betreiberin. Wir waren mit unserem Sohn (1 jahr) zum Mittagessen da und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Essen war sehr lecker.

Sehr leckeres Essen, -vollig ausreichendes Angebot, -sehr freundliche "Hausherrin", - es wird Alles frisch zubereitet, - und die Alm ist sehr schön. Der Weg rauf lohnt sich 👍
