Wir waren für eine Nacht in diesem wundervollen Hotel. Das Personal immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Ambiente und die Lage sind einfach nur traumhaft. Dort kann man eine wundervolle Zeit in Ruhe und einer besonderen Atmosphäre verbringen. Wer einen besonderen Ort sucht und auf hervorragendes Essen wert legt ist hier bestens aufgehoben. Viele Dank für die schöne Zeit Familie Schlachter und Team.

Wir haben unseren Eltern und Großmutter das Frühstück zu Weihnachten geschenkt und es war wirklich toll. Rechtzeitig reservieren, da hier schnell Plätze weg sind. Aussicht Mega auch von der Burg oben. Mit Großeltern muss man hoch bis zu den Hotelgäste Parkplätzen fahren, da der Weg recht steil ist und oben muss man dann schauen, wo man wenden kann. Kein 08/15 Frühstück, sondern außergewöhnlich und sehr lecker.

Wer hier übernachtet, spürt, dass hinter jedem Aspekt echte Leidenschaft steckt. Wer hier aufwacht und den Sonnenaufgang erlebt, glaubt dem Himmel nah zu sein. Die herausragende Küche rundet das Erlebnis perfekt ab. Hier erfährt der Gaumen Geschmacksexplosionen, die man eher aus der Sterneküche kennt und für einen Hotelbetrieb absolut außergewöhnlich sind. Absolute Empfehlung für Ruhesuchende, die etwas einmaliges erleben möchten!

Ein echtes Highlight mit absolutem Wohlfühlfaktor! Wir haben einen unvergessliches Wochenende im Boutiquehotel Blaue Burg verbracht und sind wirklich restlos begeistert. Von der Ankunft bis zur Abreise stimmte hier einfach alles.Traumhafte Lage: Das Hotel besticht durch seine einzigartige, absolut ruhige Lage mit einem spektakulären Ausblick, der einem sofort den Atem raubt. Der ideale Ort, um die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Kulinarisches Top-Erlebnis: Das Essen ist ein absolutes Highlight. Das Frühstück lässt keinerlei Wünsche offen und punktet mit frischen, hochwertigen und regionalen Produkten. Gourmet-Abendessen: Das allabendliche Dinner war ein wahrer Gaumenschmaus auf Sterne-Niveau, der mit viel Liebe zum Detail zubereitet wurde. Erstklassiger Service: Das gesamte Team ist außerordentlich herzlich, aufmerksam und liest den Gästen jeden Wunsch von den Augen ab. Fazit: Stilvolles Ambiente, exzellente Küche und eine traumhafte Lage – wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Wir haben das Frühstück erlebt. Wunderbar. Der Aufstieg hat sich für gelohnt.

Wir waren zum Frühstücken auf der blauen Burg, 36€ pro Person - ein stattlicher Preis. Von der Auswahl her war das Buffett sehr reichhaltig und ich denke, für jeden etwas dabei. Das Obst war allerdings überwiegend nicht frisch geschnitten, das war deutlich zu sehen. Auch waren einige der Aufstriche (z.B. Fleischsalat, Putensalat) nicht selbst gemacht, was man bei einem Michelin Stern schon erwarten würde. Noch zwei drei weitere Dinge, die uns aufgefallen sind: Das Material, aus dem das Geschirr besteht, ist für manche (ich würde behaupten gar nicht so wenige Menschen) sehr unangenehm anzufassen oder auch das Geräusch, das erzeugt wird, wenn man mit dem Besteck rankommt. Die (Blumen-) Deko war für die Jahreszeit eher winterlich dürftig gehalten…. bekanntlich isst das Auge ja mit :D Das Personal war sehr freundlich und schnell aber das Geschirr hat sich teilweise ein wenig gestapelt (wir waren 8 Leute) bis es abgeräumt wurde, darauf könnte vielleicht ein wenig mehr geachtet werden. Insgesamt hatten wir einen schönen Vormittag, allerdings hat uns das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht ganz überzeugt.

1 Stern Bewertung - Service unter 5-Sterne-Niveau + keine Entschuldigung Ich bin Stammgast in diesem 5-Sterne-Hotel und der Service war bisher immer freundlich und professionell. Am Samstag Nachmittag war die Erfahrung leider enttäuschend. Ich bestellte 1x Cappuccino mit Hafermilch + Kuchen und 1x Milchkaffee. Der Cappuccino kam mit normaler Milch, nicht mit Hafermilch wie bestellt. Als ich es der blonden Kellnerin sagte, entschuldigte sie sich nicht und versuchte mich zu überzeugen, dass es Hafermilch sei, obwohl Geschmack und Aussehen etwas völlig anderes zeigten. So etwas erwarte ich nicht von einem 5-Sterne-Hotel. Außerdem war die Terrasse nur halb besetzt, aber auf meine Bestellung für Kaiserschmarrn hieß es: "Die Küche ist geschlossen, hat Pause". Das Hotel und die Aussicht sind wunderschön und ich empfehle den Ort wegen der Lage. Aber der Service dieser Schicht und das fehlende "Es tut mir leid" bei einem Fehler entsprechen nicht dem 5-Sterne-Standard. Ich hoffe, das Management wird darauf reagieren.

Wir haben unseren ersten Hochzeitstag im Hotel Blaue Burg verbracht, wir haben die Hochzeits Suite gebucht mit dem goldrichtig Paket. Der Kontakt im voraus war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Auffahrt zum Hotel ist schon ein Erlebnis, eine mit Ampel Betrieb geregelte Straße, die teilweise Steig und eng zum Hotel führt. Die Parkplätze direkt vor dem Hotel sind begrenzt und eng aber machbar. Wir wurden bei der Ankunft empfangen und zu einem Getränk auf der Terrasse eingeladen, in der Zeit wurde das Gepäck aufs Zimmer gebracht. Das Zimmer war sehr stilvoll und individuell gestaltet, die freistehende Badewanne mit Bergblick war mein Highlight. Im Zimmer gab es einen Dyson Föhn und einen dyson Lüfter. Ebenfalls eine Espresso Maschine und Wasser. Eine Minibar gab es auf dem Flur. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Das Abendessen war sehr lecker und schön angerichtet. Der Service ebenfalls perfekt. Das Frühstücksbuffet war super, es gab sehr viel Auswahl und verschiedene Eierspeisen konnten bestellt werden, ebenfalls Kaffee oder Matcha oder Tages aktuelle Getränke. Unsere Massage war sehr angenehm. Der Spa Bereich war sehr schön eingerichtet und warm temperiert. Am Abend waren wir im Pavo zum Abend Menü. Es war wirklich ein Erlebnis. Das Menü war sehr abwechslungsreich und wunderschön angerichtet.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt auf der Blauen Burg und können das Hotel uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Besonders begeistert haben uns der atemberaubende Ausblick und die familiäre Atmosphäre. Man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen und bestens aufgehoben. Der Service war außergewöhnlich aufmerksam, herzlich und professionell. Selbst auf Sonderwünsche wurde sofort eingegangen, völlig selbstverständlich und immer mit einem Lächeln. Ein absolutes Highlight war unser Abend im Sternerestaurant Pavo. Das Essen war sensationell und jeder Gang ein Erlebnis. Hier trifft höchste Qualität auf Kreativität und Liebe zum Detail. Sehr empfehlen können wir auch die Kutschfahrt. Der Kutscher ist ein echtes Original, authentisch, unterhaltsam und sympathisch, ohne dabei aufdringlich zu sein. Das macht die Fahrt zu einem besonderen Erlebnis und passt perfekt zum besonderen Charme der Blauen Burg. Vielen Dank an das gesamte Team für die wunderbare Zeit. Für uns hat einfach alles gepasst. Wir kommen gerne wieder und können die Blaue Burg uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ein absolut überragender Aufenthalt! Nach einem herzlichen Empfang mit einem Begrüßungssekt durften wir unser wunderschönes Zimmer beziehen. Sowohl das Abendessen als auch das Frühstück waren kulinarisch ein Highlight Michelin Stern ⭐️ 2025 – abgerundet durch einen traumhaften Ausblick. Ein Besuch lohnt sich hier definitiv. Die Betreiberfamilie und das Team sind extrem aufmerksam, herzlich und zuvorkommend. Herzlichen Dank!

Wir waren in der blauen Burg zum frühstücken (bereits zum dritten Mal) daher keine Bewertung der Zimmer. Das Frühstück ist jedes Mal traumhaft! Es gibt alles was man sich wünschen könnte und bei den sommerlichen Temperaturen darf man es auf der Terrasse, mit super schöner Aussicht, genießen. Das Personal ist ebenfalls super - wir kommen wieder!

Wir freuen uns jedes Jahr auf unseren Aufenthalt bei Fam. Schlachter und Team. Dieses Jahr haben wir unseren 25 jährigen Hochzeitstag dort verbracht. Wie immer ein super Aufenthalt! Auch besuchen, wenn wir schon mal dort sind auch das PAVO und genießen die kulinarischen Ideen und deren Umsetzung. Für uns ein absolutes MUSS! Aber auch das Essen im Restaurant ist jeden Euro wert. Man merkt, dass hier mir Liebe und zum Detail gekocht und angerichtet wird. Das komplette Team ist superfreundlich und immer für einen kleinen Spaß zu haben. Wir behandeln das Team so, wie wir gerne auch behandelt werden wollen. Mit Respekt! Ich kann hier die teilweise kritischen Bewertungen dazu nicht verstehen und nachvollziehen. Evtl. hat es ja was damit zu tun. Wir haben dann auch mal direkt wieder für das kommende Jahr gebucht und freuen uns bereits schon wieder darauf! So als Flachländler (Oldenburg / Niedersachsen) sind Berge schon toll anzusehen.. *g* mit einem lecker Aperol natürlich.

Was für ein fantastisches Erlebnis im Hotel Blaue Burg Falkenstein! Vom ersten Moment unserer Ankunft an fühlten wir uns besonders willkommen. Die Lage ist wirklich einzigartig, mit einem atemberaubenden Blick auf die Allgäuer Alpen und das berühmte Schloss Neuschwanstein in der Ferne. Ruhe, Natur und Luxus vereinen sich hier perfekt. Die Zimmer sind stilvoll eingerichtet, geräumig und mit viel Liebe zum Detail gepflegt. Das gesamte Hotel strahlt Qualität, Liebe zum Detail und Gastfreundschaft aus. Auch das Restaurant verdient großes Lob. Die Gerichte sind raffiniert, wunderschön angerichtet und mit exzellenten regionalen Zutaten zubereitet. Das Frühstück war ebenfalls erstklassig, mit einer großen Auswahl an frischen und hochwertigen Produkten. Was diesen Ort so besonders macht, ist die Kombination aus Exklusivität und einer herzlichen, persönlichen Atmosphäre. Das Personal ist überaus freundlich, professionell und setzt alles daran, den Aufenthalt unvergesslich zu machen. Wir waren schon einige Male auf der blauen Burg und sind jedes Mal unglaublich angetan. Die Aufmerksamkeit und der Service sucht seines gleichen. Die Location ist sehr beeindruckend, man hat beim Essen und aus den Zimmern einen atemberaubenden Blick auf die umliegenden Berge und in das Tal. Wir haben nie etwas vergleichbares besucht. Kinderfreundlich! Toller ausblick, einfach besonders

Die Blaue Burg, auf 1250m Höhe auf dem Falkenstein über Pfronten gelegen ist ein Ort, den man so schnell nicht vergisst. Schon die steile Anfahrt mit Blick auf die wunderschöne Allgäuer Landschaft stimmt perfekt auf den Aufenthalt ein. Angekommen erwartet einen ein Hotel mit einem wirklich unglaublichen Ausblick, der seinesgleichen sucht. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns die Liebe zum Detail: Die individuell gestalteten Zimmer, die außergewöhnliche Einrichtung und das gesamte Ambiente machen diesen Ort absolut einzigartig. Man hat tatsächlich das Gefühl, dass es so einen Platz nur einmal auf der Welt gibt. Auch kulinarisch überzeugt die Blaue Burg auf höchstem Niveau. Die Küche ist kreativ, hochwertig und perfekt auf das besondere Konzept des Hauses abgestimmt. Dazu kommt ein wunderschöner Spa-Bereich, der zum Entspannen und Abschalten einlädt. Die Kombination aus Architektur, Design, Natur, Genuss und Atmosphäre macht dieses Hotel zu etwas ganz Besonderem. Eine absolute Empfehlung für alle, die etwas Einzigartiges suchen.

Auch wenn sich ein Aufenthalt in der Blauen Burg mit Worten kaum beschreiben lässt, sondern selbst erlebt werden muss, nachfolgend mein Versuch dieses unbeschreibliche Erlebnis in Worte zu fassen: Die Blaue Burg Heute ist der Himmel grau, am Horizont zart-dunkel blau, die Berge stattlich ungerührt, was hat mich wohl hier her geführt? 1250 ist die Zahl der Wahl, die Blaue Burg thront überm Tal, bin glücklich hier wie nie zuvor, Maria flüstert in mein Ohr, „Wie schön, dass Du gekommen bist, das Leben hat Dich sehr vermisst.“ So bin ich hier, so komm ich an, zuerst bei mir, im Leben dann.

We went there for breakfast. WOW!! Nothing was lacking, the service was phenomenal, and the quality outstanding. The value for money is excellent! The location and the view are fantastic and truly unique. A dream come true. Please note the arrival and departure times, as cars can only drive in one direction. Keep up the good work, we'll definitely be back!

This hotel is next level. Literally at the top of a mountain with its own ruin over looking it, and just a short hike up the rest of the mountain, from which you have a stunning view over the Allgäu and into Austria. The rooms were rustic and classy, very cozy, with obviously a lot of attention spent on detail, from the vintage light switches and plugs to the very comfortable beds. The view from our room was breathtaking. The restaurant is fantastic, we enjoyed all of our meals here. The service was exceptional, always attentive and friendly. We felt welcome the moment we arrived, which was an hour early, so they prioritized the preparation of the room so we could move in early. The wonderful trails manicured around the hotel leave you plenty to do without ever leaving the premises. Overall, we were very impressed by this finely run family business, and we took away a lot from the experience, an inspiration for anyone that appreciates authenticity and passion for one's craft. They have clearly thought of every detail and pride themselves on making it even better. I am curious to see what they add next. We will return.

Our day trip today took us here to Falkenstein in beautiful weather. Delicious food, a great selection of drinks, absolutely friendly and competent service, and all topped off with a fantastic view! We'd love to come back again.

The best hotel in Germany – simply a dream! From the very first minute, you feel welcome and completely at ease. The location is beautiful – quiet, picturesque, and ideal for relaxation. The entire team is incredibly warm, attentive, and professional. You can tell they work with passion! A special compliment to the kitchen: every dish is a culinary delight of the highest order – creative, lovingly presented, and simply perfect in taste. The top chefs truly master their craft! The rooms are modern, stylish, and thoughtfully designed down to the smallest detail – you can tell that quality and well-being are paramount here. The sauna area is also wonderfully maintained, clean, and inviting – a true oasis of well-being. In short: Everything is just right! A hotel you'll never want to leave. Highly recommended – we'll definitely be back!

Review for Restaurant 1250 🗻 This was our second visit to this exceptional restaurant – we had an unforgettable culinary experience here two years ago. Everything was perfect then: the warm, attentive service, the refined cuisine, and the stylish ambiance. That's precisely why we decided to dine here again for my birthday – hoping for another perfect evening. And we weren't disappointed in the slightest: the cuisine was, as expected, of the highest standard. ⭐️ The appetizers were divine – finely balanced, perfectly prepared, and beautifully presented. Each course demonstrated creativity, skill, and attention to detail. My main course, the veal loin, was delicious, but unfortunately, it was slightly overcooked. I mentioned this to the server, but they didn't really address it, which surprised me somewhat. The seating arrangement in the "Heart Room" wasn't quite ideal this time either. It was noticeably more lively and noisy than on our first visit, so the otherwise pleasant peace and exclusivity were somewhat lost. For our next visit, we would definitely reserve a table in a different room. Despite these minor drawbacks, I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. The cuisine is outstanding, the ambiance elegant and tasteful, and with slightly more attentive service, the evening would have been perfect. If you're looking for something special, then you'll find everything your heart desires at/in the Blue Castle! A unique location, special people, exceptional cuisine…we were thrilled!

We went to the Blue Castle for breakfast yesterday. Wow, what a beautiful hotel! Very stylish and beautifully furnished, amazing view, great attention to detail. You could really feel right at home. Unfortunately, we didn't feel comfortable or welcome at all. Upon arrival, there was no sign of any staff. Our son was more easygoing than we were and simply wandered a little further towards the dining room. Lo and behold, we did spot someone. The greeting was very cold; we actually got the feeling that our arrival was more of a nuisance. Since there was no other option, they found a table for us and offered us one on the terrace. Wow, what a view, breathtaking! Unfortunately, there were no tables available, and we had to go back inside (it would have been nice if this had been clarified beforehand; we were a bit disappointed). Unfortunately, we weren't given any information whatsoever about the schedule or the buffet. They simply showed us the table. That was it. My husband had also called twice in advance to say that we were celebrating my birthday. In other hotels (admittedly simpler ones), we're used to at least having a small decoration on the table and receiving congratulations (last year I even received chocolates). Here, the occasion for our breakfast was unfortunately completely ignored. No one expects gifts or flowers, but a friendly greeting would have been quite appropriate. Unfortunately, we consistently felt like second-class guests. Friendly words were spoken for other guests, but for us, only the bare minimum was done. Perhaps it was because of our son (3 years old, a bit boisterous)?! It's a shame, as he's usually treated with great care. It might also have been because we appeared somewhat more "simple and unassuming" than other guests? Perhaps we didn't look as "wealthy"? Who knows... The breakfast buffet, on the other hand, was truly fantastic. So many wonderful, unusual, and delicious items. There was absolutely nothing left to be desired. So, if you're "just" looking for a delicious breakfast in an exceptional setting, this is the perfect place. However, anyone who also values ​​friendliness and warmth should perhaps reconsider...

Dear Schlachter family and team, I just want to say thank you again for the wonderful days and nights we recently spent with you. From our arrival, with a small champagne reception, to our departure, with homemade bread for the journey home, everything was perfect! Even the fog that occasionally cleared up had a magical quality. The entire team exudes a stunning charm, is always attentive and cheerful. Everything in the hotel is well-thought-out, beautiful, high-quality, and lovingly decorated. The spa area is top-notch, the massage and beauty treatments were wonderful. The food was all delicious, including the homemade cake. Thank you for the wonderful vacation! We felt completely at home and would love to come back!

One of the nicest hotels we've ever been to!

We were only here for drinks, so I can't comment on the food. The location and the building are absolutely spectacular. However, there's no baby changing facility—which is truly embarrassing and shows the clientele they obviously favor. Dozens of parking spaces have been created for this purpose. It doesn't make you feel welcome. For us, it's not a place we'd return to.

We often come here to enjoy a short break... we are always delighted when we are served by the friendly waitress Kerstin... and the pleasant conversations with senior chef Toni round out our stay.

We had breakfast at the "Blue Castle." We had a wonderful meal; the view and the entire location were fantastic. Unfortunately, the service was provided by a woman who was at times extremely unfriendly. What a shame!

I took my wife to the Blue Castle for a day and a night in May 2025. It was a first for both of us. To put it briefly: This hotel is the special hotel among special hotels. We've seen and experienced a lot. But we've never seen the way hospitality, gastronomy, and the hotel industry are loved and lived here. Every little detail in and around the hotel, in the restaurant, the bar area, and the incredibly beautiful rooms, exudes a passion that is second to none. The icing on the cake: the cuisine of the Blue Castle. From the breathtaking breakfast to the menu in the gourmet restaurant, everything, absolutely everything, was perfectly prepared and accompanied by extremely attentive, warm, and professional service that made you feel at home! YOU GOT US! We'll be back! Hopefully very soon, and then not just for one night! I promise!

A very nice hotel. A truly delicious and well-stocked breakfast buffet. Highly recommended. Pleasant and friendly staff. Absolutely stunning views of the valley and surrounding area.

A magnificent Michelin-starred restaurant with outstanding all-round service! It's hard to say what to highlight, because everything is just perfect here: the friendly hostess, Mrs. Schlachter, and excellent waitresses, especially Carolina, who also comes from our hometown, the Heinsberg district! Are there any coincidences? The most important thing: the food! Magnificent, from the "Greetings from the Kitchen" to the outstanding, authentic Wiener Schnitzel, reinterpreted, as well as a beef cheek that melts in your mouth just by looking at it, it was so tender. Before I give away all the details: GO THERE and ENJOY!! A heartfelt THANK YOU to all the staff at this exceptional restaurant! We'll definitely be back! The staff and owners are hard to beat in terms of unfriendliness and lack of style. Only the cook in the container was very friendly. You won't leave a single euro there. But there will be like-minded people in the company management who would gladly accept such treatment. No prospect in this world justifies such behavior, of course. It's mostly behavior based on a lack of intelligence. With the best will in the world and all my efforts, I can't think of anything more to describe it.

A very special hotel with plenty of peace and luxury. The rooms are dreamy and luxurious with perfect views. The spa area, with its saunas and relaxation area with beautiful views of the mountains, is top-notch. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. The gourmet restaurants are in a class of their own, and the food is excellent. When we asked for a vegetarian option, they responded immediately; it was simply perfect. The staff is very accommodating and friendly; you can tell they love their job. The hotel is unique. A 10/10

The Blue Castle is a wonderful boutique hotel decorated with lots of charm and love. You immediately feel completely comfortable.

We spontaneously went to the Blue Castle for lunch today and were overwhelmed by the beauty, taste, quality and love with which our Easter menu was prepared and served! We would have loved to check in straight away, but all the rooms were understandably fully booked! However, we will definitely be back soon and would like to thank you very much for the truly fantastic stay we were able to experience with you. The location is a dream and the friendliness with which we and our little dog were treated made our Easter Sunday unforgettable!

We had dinner at the Blue Castle on the occasion of my 60th birthday. What can I say: it was just fantastic - the four of us were thrilled and our waitress Kerstin was just great. Great hotel in an exceptional location

During my stay at Falkenstein I was thrilled by almost every aspect. The staff was extremely courteous, the rooms were comfortable and tastefully furnished, and the culinary offerings left nothing to be desired. Only the wellness area was a little smaller compared to the rest of the offer, but this is understandable given the location of the hotel. Nevertheless, I was able to enjoy my stay to the fullest and can fully recommend the hotel.

Everything has been thought of here to create an oasis of well-being for the guests. The Pavo Restaurant: An absolute highlight of the stay was dinner in the in-house star restaurant Pavo. With his creative “sharing” concept, chef Simon Schlachter has created a completely new way of enjoying. The up to 18 small dishes, which are intended to be shared, surprised with a combination of regional ingredients and innovative taste creations. Every dish was a little work of art – not just visually, but also in terms of taste. Particularly noteworthy is the excellent wine accompaniment, which perfectly underlined every dish. Great boutique hotel and star restaurant at 1250 meters above sea level next to the Falkenburg in Pfronten. Excellent cuisine, nice, competent service, great panoramic views to the Zugspitze and wonderful wellness. Gladly again!

We wanted to go to the castle ruins and enjoy the view of Füssen at night on Saturday 19th .. unfortunately the entrance was already blocked (actually it was supposed to be open until 20th) .. unfortunately what turned out to be a spontaneous dinner in the Blue Castle Nothing either.. because we were turned away at the entrance for inexplicable reasons.. even though almost all the tables were free.. 1 star for the make-up of the extremely unfriendly lady Reception

Update Jan25 Been here for the second time and the first time over New Year's Eve. That was just great! We are absolutely thrilled with the entire team! Fantastic hotel right on the mountain with an incredibly beautiful view! You can start hiking directly from the hotel. The rooms are very lovingly and comfortably furnished. We immediately felt comfortable. The service leaves nothing to be desired and the food is fantastic. Breakfast offers a large, varied selection of dishes. The coffee tastes excellent. Our four-legged friend also liked it. He felt very comfortable and welcome. We would like to thank our hosts again and would be happy to come back for a break from everyday life!

This was the second time I've been here for breakfast. All dishes are freshly prepared, the selection is large, the ambience, the view and the staff are great. Here you can unwind and unwind. The whole hotel is a decorative feast for the eyes. Totally my taste! I'll be back. A tip: If you hike up from Pfronten-Steinach via the Mariengrotte (about an hour) before breakfast, you can now experience a beautiful sunrise in winter and be fit for breakfast!!!

very exclusive hotel with an interesting journey. Great view, nice rooms with lots of wood. The only negative point: Unfortunately, the food wasn't good and wouldn't suit a 5 star hotel. I only had one schnitzel, which was unfortunately completely bland and fibrous.

While we are still enjoying wonderful days in the Blue Castle Falkenstein, we have made reservations for another stay next year. Very nice restaurant/hotel. However, the service of the waiters depends heavily on whether you come in Gucci clothes or as a hiker. As hikers we were treated very unfriendly, which suddenly changed when we ordered the menu. It also doesn't fit with the rest of the luxurious image that you have to take the cutlery out of a basket yourself. The napkins aren't exactly appropriate for the situation either. The food was very good, the ice cream was particularly notable. However, fries and schnitzel were very disappointing and the price-performance ratio wasn't right at all.

It should be a nice day, just getting there is a challenge for your back and your ability to drive uphill. The toll is irritating and the "machine" for the ticket doesn't take a card...so you drive through because there is another traffic light that you should catch, otherwise you'll be stuck or, as the employees do (RO license plate), just drive through, which then it doesn't end well at the narrow places.... then you reach the top after breathtaking views and road conditions (I don't even know anything like that from the inner Ötztal)... and lo and behold, the parking lot below is full, no information, just more "guests" who don't know whether they are allowed to drive further to the "hotel" or not, so they drive behind the employee and then there is a parking lot for hotel guests only... so everyone gets out of the carriage (that's how you feel after the driveway) and turns around and the car is down somewhere Park next to the driveway in gravel and stones (not recommended for sports cars of all classes) so... Walk up, thank God it wasn't raining, and we've really arrived... The view is very beautiful as well as a mountain that you can see could have been more convenient with the cable car (which I think would also make sense here)... Romantic yes, the furnishings would say very stylish, modern, a lot of money was spent... So now to what we actually wanted, as I said the Michelin Guide "1 star is a kitchen full of finesse - worth a stop!" So the stop thing worked as described, the finesse thing still has a lot of room for improvement. The bubbly is also well priced Drinks: Wine list a bible of German wines but unfortunately both bottles (it's summer and on the terrace) were rather in the warm range after a strong ice cooling, which the service didn't quite overcome) the last sip was ok Wine glasses or should I say thick-walled drinking cups are not possible, they distort the view of good wine - unfortunately - Grander water....0.75 for a mere €7.00 Yes, the old castles struggled with water shortages before So now to the most important part of our trip to the Bavarian province Eat: Bouillabaisse Brave...but like most people don't pay €16 Tatar: interestingly small and clear Arlberg prices € 24 Tuna Sashi: “Cobbler stay with those bars” €24 Wiener Schnitzel: I'd rather go to Steirereck, it was nothing €34 Sole: was the only bright spot but clearly €42 Chicken leg: very experimental, please try again € 25 Shortrib: still don't know what it was €42! Apple fritters: without words! €16 Creme Brulèe: classic for €14 Rhubarb: was good €18! Driver drink: AppleBasil € 11.5 yes no basil grows on the mountain and the apples are rare... As a long-time regular at the Blaue Burg, I feel the need to correct a few things that Sigi Tirol has claimed. The Blue Castle certainly has one of the most spectacular locations in the Allgäu, if not in all of Bavaria. The fact that a Tyrolean, of all people, who has more impressive mountains than the Allgäu has to offer, complains about an asphalted, winding road makes you frown. It goes without saying that a single-lane road must be controlled by traffic lights. It is also surprising that the number of parking spaces on a mountain peak is limited, especially since it is also an excursion destination that is visited by people who are not planning to visit a hotel not really. However, I never left my Porsche 911 in the garage at home during any of my visits because I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to find adequate parking space up there. But now to the essentials: Sigi Tirol probably went to the Blue Castle because of the star-winning cuisine. One would think he was a connoisseur! But then he shouldn't have missed the fact that the Michelin-starred restaurant Pavo is only open from Thursday to Sunday and certainly not at lunchtime. So he definitely didn't enjoy the star cuisine, but that's his opinion here. This is extremely unprofessional and, above all, very unfair. The dishes listed can definitely be assigned to the different lunch menu. Both the Restaurant 1250 and the Gourmet Restaurant Pavo have never disappointed us and are always our first choice when it comes to excellent food - and you don't have to be a mountain enthusiast to enjoy a beautiful view.

The blue Falkenstein Castle is a fascinating hotel. Anyone looking for a special kind of break will find it here. Located on a mountain with a breathtaking view over the mountains, great cuisine, fantastic wines and lovingly furnished, very chic rooms. The staff is very friendly and incredibly warm.
