An absolutely recommended hotel. Our room was a dream. Stylishly furnished, clean and very thoughtful. The view is stunning. The wellness area with a view of the mountains invites you to switch off. The food was excellent. From breakfast to coffee and cake and dinner, we left absolutely nothing to be desired. So if you want to unwind in a mountain panorama in a feel-good atmosphere with excellent cuisine, you've come to the right place.

Great hotel in an exceptional location

During my stay at Falkenstein I was thrilled by almost every aspect. The staff was extremely courteous, the rooms were comfortable and tastefully furnished, and the culinary offerings left nothing to be desired. Only the wellness area was a little smaller compared to the rest of the offer, but this is understandable given the location of the hotel. Nevertheless, I was able to enjoy my stay to the fullest and can fully recommend the hotel.

The 360° panoramic view over the Vilstal, the Allgäu lake landscape and up to the Zugspitze is simply breathtaking. The hotel's architecture wonderfully combines modern design with local, sustainable materials - a harmonious interplay that reflects the beauty of nature. The rooms and suites are designed with great attention to detail and offer a luxurious, cozy ambience. I was particularly impressed by the combination of modern comfort and regional flair. Everything has been thought of here to create an oasis of well-being for the guests. The Pavo Restaurant: An absolute highlight of the stay was dinner in the in-house star restaurant Pavo. With his creative “sharing” concept, chef Simon Schlachter has created a completely new way of enjoying. The up to 18 small dishes, which are intended to be shared, surprised with a combination of regional ingredients and innovative taste creations. Every dish was a little work of art – not just visually, but also in terms of taste. Particularly noteworthy is the excellent wine accompaniment, which perfectly underlined every dish. The service was attentive, professional and warm without being intrusive. The atmosphere in the restaurant, with a view of the surrounding mountains, was simply magical. Conclusion: The Blue Castle is a true jewel in the Allgäu. If you are looking for a place that combines luxury, culinary excellence and the beauty of nature, this is the right place for you. This hotel sets new standards in terms of hospitality and quality. I can only warmly recommend a stay and am already looking forward to my next visit!

Great boutique hotel and star restaurant at 1250 meters above sea level next to the Falkenburg in Pfronten. Excellent cuisine, nice, competent service, great panoramic views to the Zugspitze and wonderful wellness. Gladly again!

We wanted to go to the castle ruins and enjoy the view of Füssen at night on Saturday 19th .. unfortunately the entrance was already blocked (actually it was supposed to be open until 20th) .. unfortunately what turned out to be a spontaneous dinner in the Blue Castle Nothing either.. because we were turned away at the entrance for inexplicable reasons.. even though almost all the tables were free.. 1 star for the make-up of the extremely unfriendly lady Reception

Update Jan25 Been here for the second time and the first time over New Year's Eve. That was just great! We are absolutely thrilled with the entire team! We will definitely become repeat offenders. 🙂 So far the most beautiful hotel we have ever had...the service, the rooms, the entire team! Fantastic hotel right on the mountain with an incredibly beautiful view! You can start hiking directly from the hotel. The rooms are very lovingly and comfortably furnished. We immediately felt comfortable. The service leaves nothing to be desired and the food is fantastic. Breakfast offers a large, varied selection of dishes. The coffee tastes excellent. Our four-legged friend also liked it. He felt very comfortable and welcome. We would like to thank our hosts again and would be happy to come back for a break from everyday life!

This was the second time I've been here for breakfast. All dishes are freshly prepared, the selection is large, the ambience, the view and the staff are great. Here you can unwind and unwind. The whole hotel is a decorative feast for the eyes. Totally my taste! I'll be back. A tip: If you hike up from Pfronten-Steinach via the Mariengrotte (about an hour) before breakfast, you can now experience a beautiful sunrise in winter and be fit for breakfast!!!

While we are still enjoying wonderful days in the Blue Castle Falkenstein, we have made reservations for another stay next year. The team, the ambience, the view from the terrace in the “Gipfelstürmer” and in the restaurant and, last but not least, the fantastic food convinced us! Maximum relaxation after just a few hours. Very nice restaurant/hotel. However, the service of the waiters depends heavily on whether you come in Gucci clothes or as a hiker. As hikers we were treated very unfriendly, which suddenly changed when we ordered the menu. It also doesn't fit with the rest of the luxurious image that you have to take the cutlery out of a basket yourself. The napkins aren't exactly appropriate for the situation either. The food was very good, the ice cream was particularly notable. However, fries and schnitzel were very disappointing and the price-performance ratio wasn't right at all.

As a long-time regular at the Blaue Burg, I feel the need to correct a few things that Sigi Tirol has claimed. The Blue Castle certainly has one of the most spectacular locations in the Allgäu, if not in all of Bavaria. The fact that a Tyrolean, of all people, who has more impressive mountains than the Allgäu has to offer, complains about an asphalted, winding road makes you frown. It goes without saying that a single-lane road must be controlled by traffic lights. It is also surprising that the number of parking spaces on a mountain peak is limited, especially since it is also an excursion destination that is visited by people who are not planning to visit a hotel not really. However, I never left my Porsche 911 in the garage at home during any of my visits because I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to find adequate parking space up there. But now to the essentials: Sigi Tirol probably went to the Blue Castle because of the star-winning cuisine. One would think he was a connoisseur! But then he shouldn't have missed the fact that the Michelin-starred restaurant Pavo is only open from Thursday to Sunday and certainly not at lunchtime. So he definitely didn't enjoy the star cuisine, but that's his opinion here. This is extremely unprofessional and, above all, very unfair. The dishes listed can definitely be assigned to the different lunch menu. Both the Restaurant 1250 and the Gourmet Restaurant Pavo have never disappointed us and are always our first choice when it comes to excellent food - and you don't have to be a mountain enthusiast to enjoy a beautiful view.

It should be a nice day, just getting there is a challenge for your back and your ability to drive uphill. The toll is irritating and the "machine" for the ticket doesn't take a card...so you drive through because there is another traffic light that you should catch, otherwise you'll be stuck or, as the employees do (RO license plate), just drive through, which then it doesn't end well at the narrow places.... then you reach the top after breathtaking views and road conditions (I don't even know anything like that from the inner Ötztal)... and lo and behold, the parking lot below is full, no information, just more "guests" who don't know whether they are allowed to drive further to the "hotel" or not, so they drive behind the employee and then there is a parking lot for hotel guests only... so everyone gets out of the carriage (that's how you feel after the driveway) and turns around and the car is down somewhere Park next to the driveway in gravel and stones (not recommended for sports cars of all classes) so... Walk up, thank God it wasn't raining, and we've really arrived... The view is very beautiful as well as a mountain that you can see could have been more convenient with the cable car (which I think would also make sense here)... Romantic yes, the furnishings would say very stylish, modern, a lot of money was spent... So now to what we actually wanted, as I said the Michelin Guide "1 star is a kitchen full of finesse - worth a stop!" So the stop thing worked as described, the finesse thing still has a lot of room for improvement. The bubbly is also well priced Drinks: Wine list a bible of German wines but unfortunately both bottles (it's summer and on the terrace) were rather in the warm range after a strong ice cooling, which the service didn't quite overcome) the last sip was ok Wine glasses or should I say thick-walled drinking cups are not possible, they distort the view of good wine - unfortunately - Grander water....0.75 for a mere €7.00 Yes, the old castles struggled with water shortages before So now to the most important part of our trip to the Bavarian province Eat: Bouillabaisse Brave...but like most people don't pay €16 Tatar: interestingly small and clear Arlberg prices € 24 Tuna Sashi: “Cobbler stay with those bars” €24 Wiener Schnitzel: I'd rather go to Steirereck, it was nothing €34 Sole: was the only bright spot but clearly €42 Chicken leg: very experimental, please try again € 25 Shortrib: still don't know what it was €42! Apple fritters: without words! €16 Creme Brulèe: classic for €14 Rhubarb: was good €18! Driver drink: AppleBasil € 11.5 yes no basil grows on the mountain and the apples are rare... I, my friends and also the Blaue Burg team are sorry to “have to” write this. Guide Michelin is about the FOOD not the view and the ambience

The blue Falkenstein Castle is a fascinating hotel. Anyone looking for a special kind of break will find it here. Located on a mountain with a breathtaking view over the mountains, great cuisine, fantastic wines and lovingly furnished, very chic rooms. The staff is very friendly and incredibly warm. We are spending our honeymoon in the hotel and are absolutely thrilled. We received a very friendly and warm welcome. The location and view is simply unique and beautiful. The bridal suite is very nicely furnished and, contrary to other reviews, has windows that protect you from unwanted looks. The room service is top, as is the extremely attentive and friendly staff in the restaurant. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired and the dinner delights you every day. Some of the guests we spoke to have been here several times and it certainly won't be the last time for us either. Thank you for this lovely stay! :)

Location with great views and tasteful furnishings. Food high quality and well prepared. However, portions are too small for the very high prices. I am a declared enemy of XXL portions, but I wasn't full here and compared to many other first-class restaurants, the price was 30 percent too high in relation to the portion. So very tasty, but unfortunately too expensive.

We celebrated our wedding in a smaller circle at the Blue Castle at the beginning of June and couldn't be happier. The day was simply perfect from start to finish. But the location is also fantastic. If you are really looking for a special place, this is the right place for you. Each room is specially decorated and super beautiful, the staff is friendly and very pleasant and the food is simply incredible. Our wishes and ideas were implemented brilliantly and we were able to enjoy every moment.

After a steep climb in very warm temperatures, we were looking forward to a cold drink. Unfortunately, the service closed at 4 p.m. with the note that reservations had to be prepared at 6 p.m. We actually thought that after Corona, the catering industry would be happy about every friendly, paying guest. Here it is closed early because of wealth. A pity.

Our stay in December was very nice and incredibly relaxing. The size of the hotel and the ambience are very cozy and homely. The wellness area on site is not very large but completely sufficient! There is still the option to go to the other wellness area if you need to. The food in the restaurant was very diverse and there is something for everyone. We would love to come back! We spent the beginning of our wedding vacation here. At the beginning you need a little time to process all the impressions. The room, the location, the view, the food, the breakfast, the care, the ambience... For us, who really can't make big financial leaps, it was worth every euro. The wellness area is the icing on the cake. Eating in a restaurant unsettles the palate and the senses. You just want to get away from the terrace to explore the rest of the area. You actually only want to leave the room to enjoy the view and feast on the terrace. And with the view and the peace and quiet, you don't really want to leave the wellness area. We were allowed to feel like a royal couple in a castle for a few nights. As soon as we have saved something again, we will definitely come again - and probably won't be able to decide which room we want to book beforehand.

We had a perfect stay in May 2024. High-quality rooms with sensational views of the valleys. The public areas such as the restaurant, spa and terrace are particularly impressive in terms of furnishings and spaciousness. The whole thing is surpassed by the excellent cuisine and the great service with good humor and hospitality. A bit pricy, but worth every cent.

The breakfast buffet selection was great. The dinner was prepared with a lot of love and always with absolute sophistication. An absolute recommendation is the veal schnitzel and the Kaiserschmarn at lunchtime after a hike or sporting exercise in the wonderfully beautiful mountains of the Allgäu. The kitchen team shows absolute perfection and always amazed us when we looked at the dishes. The location of the hotel is also unbeatable - in the middle of nature, high up on the mountain with a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape and the entire Allgäu. The Schlachter family and the entire team gave us an unforgettable vacation; we were able to enjoy every single moment. We can only warmly recommend the Hotel Blaue Burg Falkenstein and are already looking forward to our next visit!

We recently met guests from the Allgäu region at the Hamburg harbor birthday who live not far from the Hotel Falkenstein. They said they stopped going there because the boss's arrogance and unfriendliness were unbearable. This really hit our nerve as we had the same experiences some time ago in this otherwise very beautiful location. We were allowed to carry our luggage up the stairs ourselves, which were quite steep, and all in all there was a clear air of arrogance, snooty and unfriendliness about our visit. Like the Allgäu couple, we will definitely not go there again.

We were informed that the area was only reserved for hotel guests and that we had to move out. Afterwards we chatted with other guests, who were also not hotel guests, but did not experience such nice behavior. With so much arrogance, I wonder if it won't pay off in the long run. Stay away from the arrogant establishment with the corresponding target group!

The stay was simply fantastic. We were invited to a wedding at the hotel and had the opportunity to spend 2 nights in this beautiful hotel. There is not a single point of criticism. The absolute highlight was the nighttime view with a clear view and some shooting stars. For the wedding and the day before, we indulged in gastronomic delights. We will remember this stay positively and full of euphoria for a long time.

Wonderful place to relax and take in the beautiful views! You can close your eyes and take pictures in any direction and you’d have a postcard. We been going here for many years but the family had refurbished it recently and did a fantastic job. Make sure you time your visit carefully. It’s a narrow winding road they only lets people go up or down at certain times in the hour. Enjoy!!

Very nice hotel in a great location. We had 3 very nice days and were completely satisfied.

I went to Restaurant 1250 with my mother. I made a reservation by phone with the information that we wanted to celebrate my mother's birthday. I wasn't told on the phone that access to the mountain on which the hotel is located is only possible from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., otherwise there will be oncoming traffic. When we got there we got the worst table in the whole restaurant, and before we were even seated 10 waiters rushed past us. Of course there was no special attention for my mother's birthday. There was no privacy, nor a view of anything except a wall. I then asked for a new table, they said they were sorry but they were fully booked and there were no other tables. Then, quite annoyed, we ordered two glasses of champagne. The waiter then completely knocked it over and dumped it on my mother, the table and her bag. And suddenly there was another table… oh wonder. Everything was soaking wet. Then a few more orders were messed up, it was one of the worst restaurant visits in my life. The food was good (that's why it got the second star), but unfortunately this has no relevance if you can't enjoy the food because of the disappointment and sadness over what was actually such a well-thought-out evening. Nice hotel, great location but terrible staff. No recommendation.

The hotel is located in close proximity to the Falkenstein castle ruins. This location deserves more than 5*. The view is spectacular. 14.20€ for a 1/4 white wine was simply too expensive, and there wasn't even anything to nibble on.

Sensational location, super friendly staff, brilliant food and beautiful rooms with a very comfortable bed! The massage with Christiane is highly recommended. Will definitely come back and recommend it to all friends.

Speaking of which: as if the cuisine alone wasn't worth a visit - the design of the entire house is also incredibly harmonious, cozy and of high quality (and yes, there is a Dyson hairdryer in the room 🤩). The hosts and the entire team (including the house dog Charly) are super nice, uncomplicated and deeply relaxed. The breakfast is one of the best I've ever had (nut butter machine! Hello!) and the cozy relaxation area is definitely enough to relax in (gummy bears included). You can look forward to lots of nice little surprises and, to be honest, the hotel is so nice and cozy that you'll wish it had been longer (no matter how long you stay). I'll be back. Soon.

Außergewöhnliches Hotel mit besonderer Lage. Viele verschiedene Zimmer die liebevoll und hochwertig eingerichtet sind. Das Frühstück bietet alles was das Herz begehrt und das Essen ist besonders.

Sehr familiär geführt. Super Essen. Tolle Suiten mit sehr schönem Ausblick. Super Personal. Sensationelle Lage und sehr viel Ruhe.

Unser 4. Aufenthalt in diesem feinen Hotel mit grandioser Aussicht sowie individuell und liebevoll ausgestatteten Zimmern wurde durch ein Essen im Restaurant "Pavo" gekrönt. Die 18 kleinen Gänge in konstanter Spitzenqualität waren originell, aber nie zu bemüht in der Suche nach Neuem. Auch die Weinbegleitung bot fantastische, sorgfältig ausgesuchte Weine abseits des Mainstreams. Der Service war perfekt. Herzlichen Dank und bis zum nächsten Mal!

Das Spa ist recht klein, sonst alles top

Es sind die Menschen, die den Unterschied machen! Wir durften 3 wunderschöne Tage in einem tollen Zimmer verbringen. Wenn das Wetter es zulässt, hat man eine traumhafte Rundumsicht. Wir wurden mit einem tollen Frühstück verwöhnt und hatten spannende Abende mit leckerem Essen und tollen Weinen. Vielen lieben Dank an das herzliche Serviceteam rund um die wunderbaren (Senior-) Betreiber Herta und Anton (Toni), welche sich nicht nur liebevoll gekümmert haben, sondern auch immer mit Rat und Tat zur Verfügung standen! Einfach toll! 🙏 Einen Stern Abzug gibt es, weil es bei der Abreise einen kleinen Disput mit der Juniorchefin gab, welcher bei mir zu leichten Irritationen geführt hat und erst nach unserer Abreise, durch mein Zutun, geklärt werden konnte. Herzlichen Dank an Sabrina für das klärende Gespräch. Ich rechne es hoch an, da es heutzutage auch nicht mehr selbstverständlich ist. Ich habe nach unserem Gespräch versprochen, dass wir wiederzukommen. Dann würden wir uns freuen, die volle Anzahl an Sternen vergeben zu dürfen.

Wir haben bis heute ein Wochenende in der Blauen Birg verbracht und waren gelaufen begeistert. Das Personal war super freundlich und aufmerksam, das Essen im Hotel-Restaurant (Sterne-Stune war geschlossen) war hervorragend und seinerseits auf Sterne-Niveau. Wir haben den Wellness-Bereich genossen, der zu keiner Zeit überlaufen war. Der Blick war super als es noch nicht geschneit hat. Dann hat man zwar nicht mehr viel gesehen, dafür war es Winter Wonderland. Ist auf jeden Fall auf unserer Liste für eine Wiederholung - vermutlich mal im Sommer, da es eine tolle Terasse gibt und man schöne Ausflüge zu Fuß machen kann.

Die Anfahrt zur Burg ist recht steil und schmal. Aber der Weg lohnt sich! Die Lage, Aussicht, Ambiente und Qualität der der Speisen und Getränke (Brunch) lassen keine Wünsche offen.

Blaue Burg - mit so viel Liebe zum Detail. Ganz Wundervoll ist das geschmackvolle Interior mit einer Wahnsinns Lage/Aussicht on top, dicht gefolgt von dem tollen Essen und den netten Menschen und die liebevollen Aufmerksamkeiten. (von Königshappen für meinen Hund, kostenloses e laden fürs Auto, bis hin zu jeder möglichen Rücksichtnahme von LM Unverträglichkeiten und persönlichen Vorlieben). Ich war bereits zum zweiten Mal mit Hund und Freund dort und freue mich jetzt schon auf unseren nächsten Aufenthalt!

Großartiges Hotelrestaurant. Sehr schönes und gemütliches Restaurant, ein gelungener Mix aus traditioneller und moderner Einrichtung. Die Lage auf dem Berg mit Blick auf die Alpen ist atemberaubend. Auf jeden Fall ein Besuch wert. Das Essen ist teuer aber sehr gut und fein. Der Service ist top.
