Very nice rooms! Bathroom on the upper floor! Takes getting used to but luxurious. But in Unfortunately, the outbuilding is extremely noisy. I can't comment on the main building. Quiet location in the center. Free parking within walking distance in approx. 3 minutes. Eat good! Very friendly staff. Unfortunately only Greek or Russian with 2 bits of German. Nevertheless, there was a clear understanding! All in all OK!

It's all about the food, not the hotel! Unfortunately the guest room was very cold and not heated, which wasn't exactly comfortable. There wasn't much going on either. The food was just fine, ready after about 10 to 15 minutes and unfortunately not as good as expected. It was edible but unfortunately too expensive for the quality and the high fat content of the meat. No potential for repetition or recommendations. The bifteki was good, but the portions overall were very small for a Greek.

Very friendly welcome, booking absolutely uncomplicated. The rooms are a little old but nice and big and clean. We had the family suite for two with a TV room, two bedrooms and a mega-large bathroom. A small point deduction for clairaudience, but it is an old building. The breakfast was great with everything you could wish for. The super delicious omelette with cheese is missing from the photo. Thank you again for that. Eating in the beautiful beer garden is highly recommended. Gladly again.

We had the pleasure of spending a few days at the Hotel and Restaurant Zum Löwen in Gelnhausen and were completely thrilled. We received a warm welcome upon arrival and the hospitality of the staff remained remarkable throughout our stay. The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. We particularly liked the opportunity to sit outside and enjoy the weather. The highlight of our stay was definitely the restaurant. The Greek specialties were delicious and of high quality. The service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very welcoming. We can highly recommend this hotel and restaurant and will certainly come back here on our next trip to Gelnhausen. Greetings from Bavaria!

Almost perfect only stairs inside apartment are small nuisance

Clean, centrally but quietly located hotel with friendly staff. As a solo traveler, I had a room on two floors with a great bathroom upstairs. You order breakfast and it was varied and enjoyable. I would be happy to come back.

Nice attentive staff, really good breakfast. The room was clean and nice. Very central location in the middle of the old town.

The inn is conveniently located in the pedestrian zone of Gelnhausen. The two of us got a table without a reservation. The menu is Greek-influenced and varied, the dishes are freshly prepared and taste good. The host is friendly and strives to pamper the guests. The ambience could do with some modernization, or at least a little sprucing up.

Not recommended at all!!! The only thing that saves itself is the service, which was very nice and really comfortable in the morning 14 days ago. I recommended it to friends and on Saturday it was a catastrophe, the boss was very unfriendly and aggressive, he couldn't speak German, he didn't understand anyone. The food was really cold and cold He didn't even offer to warm it up again. It's a shame for the atmosphere, no one sees me there anymore..

On Monday evening the four of us went out to eat in the restaurant. The restaurant offers a nice ambience, especially a cozy beer garden. We rated the starter as very good. For the main course, we found the gyros to be too fatty. The service & food were average that day. The restaurant deserves 3.5 stars because it performs somewhat weaker than other restaurants in the surrounding area. That's why we only give a total of 3 stars.

Very friendly and good service. Location is great in the old town, but unfortunately the parking space is about 200 meters downhill (not signposted but still not easy to find upon request, 1 space with a note indicating that it belongs to the hotel). However, the room was unfortunately not as expected, with some not insignificant defects. Unfortunately, these defects in furnishings also pose a risk of injury (bedside table lamp, cover glass simply broken in half and still standing, toilet seat torn from one of the two rear anchors, open seams and holes in the pleats, door locks about to fall out because they are). are loose and also don't close properly, defective roller blind in the bathroom). Here the price performance, which is not necessarily expensive, does not correspond to my expectations at all. The room itself is otherwise quite attractively furnished with a rustic charm (seems to be a historic building), the mattresses are comfortable but far too soft for me, the bathtub is nice and big and right under the sloping window.

We stayed overnight in room no. 1. Simple, beautiful and very clean! The use of the whirlpool rounded off the evening with the excellent Greek food. We come from the area and all I can say is that they have the best Metaxa sauce in the area. Very tasty, very friendly and excellent ouzo. Only recommended.

Looks nice at first, high prices - well, it's just for tourists. Unfortunately no parking facilities. But the owner is unfortunately unfriendly and asked me seriously (he with a strong Greek accent) whether I spoke German (my language certainly has a bit of a Saxon touch, but that's not a problem otherwise). Somehow the owner seemed to be in a very bad mood.

Incredibly good food and great service. The quality of the food, especially the meat, is very good. The dishes are also very nicely prepared. I particularly like gratinated gyros in Metaxa sauce. Was here with the family and everyone was very happy.

We ate here again and were very satisfied. Good food, very nice staff and good prices. We will be back!

We went there for dinner last night based on a recommendation. So, I would be happy to pass on the recommendation to future guests. The service was very, very nice and friendly. And the food was really delicious and absolutely normal in price. Quality and taste really great. Unfortunately I didn't take any photos. The facility is older, but cozy. We really enjoy coming back, thank you very much 😃

Not recommended Since I didn't spend the night there and threw 74 out the window, I can't report on the beds or the breakfast, which should cost €15 extra. This hotel and restaurant changed hands a few months ago. Several neighbors reported that I was there at 5 p.m.!! stood in front of a closed door and waited to check in, that the quality was no longer that good and that under no circumstances should I eat there. When the owner finally arrived at 5:15 p.m., the staff was already waiting for him. No one could answer my question because no one spoke German. The owner, on the other hand, spoke German, he immediately called me in an aggressive manner and tried to order me around. This was probably the case Due to the fact that the man was heavily drunk. I checked in and left the building a little later. A very drunk boss combined with the smell of food in the entire building spoiled my desire to stay. Unfortunately, I had paid in advance. Not recommended!!!

Everything was great. We were there for 2 days. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was very friendly, helpful. They spoke German and Russian. Food was great.

Sehr zu empfehlen. Wunderschöne Zimmer mit Bad sehr stilvoll und hochwertig. Ein sehr reichhaltiges und gutes Frühstück, sehr guter und freundlicher Service und eine top Lage in der historischen Altstadt und auch nur maximal 15 Gehminuten zum Bahnhof mit guter Anbindung Richtung Frankfurt.

Ich habe dort gestern mit 8 Personen gegessen, das essen war super gut und sehr lecker Das Personal war auch sehr freundlich und ds hat alles gepasst

Essen war gut, die Bedienung war sehr nett allerdings kaum sichtbar. Leider kam lange Zeit niemand mehr an den Tisch. Die Gläser werden oben angefasst, wo der Gast draus trinkt, das ist leider ein NoGo.

Ich habe in diesem Lokal nur gegessen. Wow! Eine richtige menge zum satt werden. Die Bedienung waren super freundlich, alle Wünsche sind denen nicht entkommen. Essen war super richtig lecker. Ich kann diese Lokal nur Empfehlen, es ist wirklich ein besuch wert.

Ich war nur Essen und nicht im Hotel (Da ich aber den Biergarten und das Restaurant, samt Blick in die Küche sehe könnte, gebe ich 4 Sterne auf die Zimmer, ohne sie zu kennen. Ein guter Grieche. Sehr leckeres Essen. Leider wurde eine Vorspeise sehr spät geliefert, aber geschmeckt hat alles super!

Mittlerweile hat es einen Besitzerwechsel gegeben und nachfolgende Worte gelten für den Vorbesitzer: Einfach Spitze. Haben einen kurzweiligen Abend im Biergarten verbracht mit Spezialitäten vom Grill. Das Fleisch war auf den Punkt zubereitet. Rindersteak war Medium und Geflügel saftig. Die Sslate waren hausgemacht und Süsskartoffel Pommes, und Beilagen wie Mediterranes Grillgemüse und Brot sowie Brötchen ein Gedicht. Einfach Löwenstark. Vielen Dank den Gastwirten Fam. Gesner

Sehr nettes und zuvorkommendes Personal Sehr leckeres Essen, tolle Qualität! Das Essen für das Kleinkind wurde zuerst serviert. Wurden trotzdem bedient, obwohl zwischen 15 Uhr und 17.30 Uhr geschlossen war. Wunderschöner Innenhof, windgeschützt und gemütlich Absolute Weiterempfehlung!

I went there only for dinner. The restaurant gives perfect vibes about Greece Culture and food. The food was great. The atmosphere was also great. But the cashier asked two times to give me a tip. If he asked me directly i would have offered more. It wasnt good. But the staff and everone was welcoming and polite.

War geschäftlich mehrere Tage im Hotel. Zimmer sauber und großräumig. Das Team super freundlich.Die Lage ist optimal, da man direkt in der Altstadt ist . Gegenüber vom Hotel ist das Geburtshaus von Philipp Reis(Erfinder des Telefons) und die Marienkirche ist um die Ecke und absolut sehenswert. Das Essen im Hotel ist super lecker und in der Umgebung ist für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei.

Bin hier zwar nur für eine Nacht aber ich muss ehrlich sagen TOP Das Zimmer ist sehr schön, die Angestellten sind alle sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Essen inkl Frühstück ist auch sehr zu empfehlen. Für 70€ die Nacht + 10€ für das Frühstück ist es sehr günstig und man bekommt definitiv was für sein Geld. Innenstadt ist via Fußweg sehr schnell erreichbar. Gerne wieder

Der Aristoteles Teller war lecker. Ich finde es schöner wenn gefragt wird, bevor man einen Schnaps hingestellt bekommt.

Zimmer geräumig, gemütlich und tiptop sauber, freundlicher Empfang und sehr gute Lage. Rundum empfehlenswert!

Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und bekamen ein sehr schönes, großes, sauberes und gemütliches Zimmer. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und lecker. Gerne hätten wir auch im Restaurant gegessen, aber leider hatten wir für unsere Übernachtung den Ruhetag ausgesucht. Wir würden immer wieder dieses Hotel buchen.

zu den Zimmern kann ich nix sagen, wir waren zum Essen hier. Morgens Angerufen und reserviert für 20 bis 25 Leute. Super das das so kurzfristig geklappt hat. Essen war super, Personal top. Ihr seid ein Klasse Team und unser Club bedankt sich auch noch mal für das Dach über dem Kopf.. 👍

Ich bin sehe begeistert!!! Altstadt ist wunderschön. Hotelzimmer war sehr schön, groß und sehr gemütlich. Gastgeberin ist sehr warmherzig, tolle Frühstücksbuffet, tolle Service!!! Sehr empfehlenswert!!!

Wir haben eine Nacht in dem Hotel Zum Löwen übernachtet und dort auch zu Abend gegessen. Die Bedienung / Geschäftsführerin war unglaublich nett und man hat sich durchweg gut betreut gefühlt. Das essen konnte auf die Zimmer gebucht werden. Wir konnten spontan die letzte Übernachtung stornieren und die Bezahlung ging komplett Problemlos, trotz unterschiedlicher Firmenadressen. Das Essen im Restaurant war unglaublich lecker. Wir hatten diverse Speisen und es hat allen geschmeckt. Punkte die ich etwas schade fand waren: - Die Zimmer haben keine Duschen, nur Badewannen. - Im Restaurant gab es keine Longdrinks bzw. nur eine kleine Spirituosen auswahl. Das ist bei der tollen Betreuung jedoch kein Grund hier nicht einzukehren.

Gutes Essen, sehr lockere Gastgeber, altes schönes Ambiente im Herzen der historischen Altstadt.

Good homemade food - we tried the Schnitzel and they were quite good. I can recommend to try the Pils beer or Apfelwein. Staff was polite and quick.
