Can definitely be highly recommended. Located in a side street/peas alley, accessible through a courtyard entrance on the ground floor, small step. The dining room isn't huge, but it's cozy and cozy. Service very nice and attentive. Special requests will be accommodated when ordering. Something is also available for those with gluten intolerance or is freshly prepared accordingly. The food was unforgettable and very tasty. You should only order a large schnitzel if you are a good eater or feel starving. Schnitzel comes in three sizes, small, regular and large. Prices are in the normal range and fair. The dishes we tried were very tasty and freshly prepared, respect for the kitchen. In conclusion: all two thumbs up, highly recommended, we were definitely not there for the last time. All the best. And as a treat, if you're looking for something to grill, there's a meat sommelier machine outside...

Top German restaurant, one of the few that still exists today. Great food, large portions, TOP service despite the restaurant being full and great prices - a huge compliment to this team. Even our little guests are thought of with reading and coloring books. Keep it up 😁👌

Absolute recommendation! Here we still cook properly - meat from the butcher, beaten in-house, breaded and fried in clarified butter. Sauces, spaetzle and croquettes are made in-house, which you can immediately tell from the taste. And anyone who has problems with glutamate can be happy here, because everything is cooked in-house with fresh ingredients! My recommendation is the Mama Schnitzel 😉 The ambience is great and the service is friendly and quick - even when the restaurant is full! If you still value quality, you've come to the right place! However, you should definitely reserve early. The shop is small and in demand

No star - an absolute disgrace! I have rarely experienced something like this. We ordered several schnitzels with fries, a side salad and fried potatoes with a fried egg - for one portion it should have been croquettes instead of fries. Not only was this missing, but we were also charged extra! In addition, a schnitzel was supposed to be without ham, but we got it. The schnitzels tasted old, like old, rancid fat - unappetizing. Sauce? None. The fried potatoes were a bad joke - obviously straight out of a bag and have nothing to do with real fried potatoes. For what we got, every euro is too much! When I called the restaurant to calmly point out the deficiencies, the boss was on the phone - and that was the cherry on top: incredibly unfriendly, zero insight, no apology. Instead I was brushed off and in the end they just hung up on me. Such disrespectful behavior towards paying guests is absolutely unacceptable. This restaurant will never see me again. A bitter disappointment across the board!

What can I say: we were there yesterday, in a rush, had to wait 10 minutes and then got a table. This was left for us by 2 gentlemen after they had eaten, GREAT.. Then we ordered steak, my wife, which was great, and I ordered a large Alm Schnitzel, which I ate in the morning. Quality absolutely great, service incredibly nice and accommodating. And the quality first = class. For us, again and again. Just book a table. Not a fancy restaurant, but a quaint, comfortable one Restaurant. again and again....

I give full stars for everything. If customers don't understand that you're a very small business and that's exactly why you can't expect everything like in such EXPENSIVE large restaurants, there's simply no help. You still get really good food, prepared with high quality and love. This is exactly what often disappears in most restaurants after a while. So just stay as you are.

The food there is really good, but reaching the restaurant by phone is completely impossible. Nobody ever answers the phone, so it's impossible to reserve a table. If you try it on site you will be treated unfriendly and told that the waitress cannot answer the phone and that you have to make a reservation at least 1 week in advance. But how? And how should you be able to order “food to go”? Added to this are the employee-unfriendly opening hours of the kitchen from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Unfortunately, this store is not recommended for these reasons. Sorry.

We went there spontaneously to eat and actually managed to get a seat. The ambience and service is great. But above all, the food is a blast. Schnitzel in all variations with delicious sauces and side dishes. And best of all, everything is homemade and no finished goods. We were totally thrilled and will definitely come back. P.s. Totally inflexible and you can't place an order 30 minutes before closing time (9 p.m.) and the lady on the phone was very unfriendly. It's a shame it was better

A great meal. The schnitzels are fried in the pan. A great salad. We really liked the homemade croquettes and spaetzle. Probably one of the best restaurants with German cuisine in the Altkreis Gelnhausen.

Very cozy restaurant with a lot of old school flair. Super friendly service, no matter how busy the pub is. The menu offers a huge selection of escalopes in particular, including "wylde" creations, all of which taste great (and I'm more of a schnitzel purist. A highlight is always the homemade potato croquettes. But vegetarians also enjoy homemade spaetzle -Dishes at your own expense. Can only recommend the shop. Very important: reserve in advance!

I like rustic restaurants and the service and food (schnitzel) are great. Instead of Mama schnitzel with dark sauce, Papa ordered schnitzel with light sauce. The monthly spare ribs and knuckles are also great. But only possible with reservations.

The Pilsstube No # 5 is always worth a visit. In summer, it's nice to sit in the courtyard in the beer garden or inside in the rustic pub, and definitely enjoy a delicious schnitzel or grilled plate. Everything is right here. If you're hungry, there are small or normal portions. For those who are very hungry, also in large 😬. We enjoy being guests here. ❤️

Very nice, rustic, middle-class restaurant. Dad has been here for the third time and so far it has always been very tasty, including this time. Since I'm not a beef fan, I was even able to reorder the grill plate.

We are absolutely thrilled, the selection of schnitzel variants alone is sensational and the taste is top top top! The service is also extremely friendly and fast and the restaurant itself exudes classic, rustic village cosiness. We will come here often, thank you very much! Cozy inn with a small bar but great cuisine. Everyone is very nice and there is a pleasantly relaxed, family atmosphere. It's really difficult to decide between the homemade spaetzle and the homemade croquettes as a side dish to the schnitzel. There are different variations of schnitzel. We have already tried a few and are always really impressed. The portion sizes are decent. The restaurant is located in the old town center of Meerholz - the streets are narrow here and you may have to walk 100m to the car. I already wrote above that it’s worth it. I can really recommend it... also to pick up 😉

Kleine aber feine Kneipe in einem schmalen Gässchen in Meerholz. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Hier gibt es viele verschiedene Schnitzelvarianten. Ich hatte mich für das Schnitzel mit Knoblauch-Rahmsauce entschieden- und wurde nicht enttäuscht. Für alle Knobi-Fans genau das richtige. Auch die hausgemachten Spätzle, die man dazu bestellen konnte, waren vorzüglich. Die Bedienung war trotz hoher Besucherzahl (zusätzlich noch eine Weihnachtsfeier), sehr freundlich und hat einen tollen Job gemacht. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Macht weiter so! Wichtig: auf jeden Fall vorher reservieren, sonst bekommt man keinen Platz mehr.

Super lecker Essen, richtig gute Pommes und Kroketten, Schnitzel war top. Service sehr freundlich und entspannt obwohl viel los war , sehr rustikal alles eher wie in so einer guten Stube. Man hört das Schnitzel klopfen aus der Küche und riecht wenn es mit dem anbraten losgeht. Hatten nicht reserviert und wurden zu anderen an einen großen Tisch gesetzt, war total entspannt, wie früher in der Wirtschaft. Hat mir sehr gut gefallen ✌️ kommen gerne wieder, danke.

Paar wenige Pkw Parkplätze, kleine Stufen, ansonsten ebenerdig. Toiletten super und gut erreichbar. Viele Schnitzelvarianten und anderen guten Fleischgerichten, auch Salate mit Putenbrust. Aufmerksame Bedienung. Essen normalgut. Kann man wieder Mal einkehren. 👍🙋🏼‍♂️

Waren sehr zufrieden und kommen auf jeden Fall mal wieder. Service sehr freundlich, die Schnitzel sehr lecker, besonders gut gefallen hatten uns auch die Bratkartoffeln. Ambiente ist Eiche-rustikal, aber auf die gute Art! Kann man sehr empfehlen!

Endlich mal wieder ein Restaurant mit guter deutscher Küche, unbedingt vorher reservieren. Essen hervorragend, Ausstattung liebevoll altdeutsch. Service total nett und zuvorkommend. Hier waren wir nicht das letzte Mal.

Super leckeres Essen von der dazugehörigen Metzgerei. Klasse Bio Fleisch zu noch erschwinglichen Preisen. Essen dauert je nach Andrang schon etwas länger aber ist immer frisch. Service Personal ist immer freundlich und stets bemüht aber leider auch manchmal überfordert. Leider gibt es heutzutage kaum mehr Personal. Das Ambiente ist irgendwann in der Zeit stehen geblieben was aber mir persönlich gefällt. Ich gehe gerne dorthin (aber mit Reservierung am besten).

Absolute Weltklasse! Das Ambiente ist sehr rustikal und die Schnitzel schmecken wie handgemacht. Sei es bei den Saucen oder den Pommes oder den Kroketten. Man wird das Gefühl nicht los, dass hier noch komplett selbst gekocht wird. Absolute Empfehlung!!!

Super gutes Essen! Wir kommen sicherlich wieder! Alte, rustikale Einrichtung. Kleine, sehr gemütliche Gaststätte. Nette und sehr flotte Bedienung. Große Portionen, man kann zwischen verschiedenen Größen wählen. Schon bei der mittleren Größe ist man gut satt. Etwas versteckt in einer Seitenstraße, der Besuch lohnt sich aber auf jeden Fall! Auf dem Foto sieht man das Pfefferrahmschnitzel.

Unglaublich gute Küche in gemütlich rustikalem Ambiente! Die Karte ist überschaubar, was die Qualität der Gerichte aber meiner Meinung nach nur unterstreicht! Hier wird sich auf das wesentliche konzentriert statt auf Masse. Es werden überwiegend Schnitzel mit handgemachten Zugaben wie Spätzle oder Kroketten angeboten, sowie überbackene Pfannen. Natürlich gibt es hier auf was für den kleinen Hunger, wie Strammer Max o.Ä. aber der Kassenschlager scheint unübertroffen das Schnitzel zu sein. Das bestätigte ein Rundumblick im komplett gefülltem Restaurant. Wir haben uns für ein Jägerschnitzel mit handgemachten Kroketten sowie eine Schwabenpfanne entschieden und absolut nichts bereut. Die Auswahl war perfekt! Das essen war wirklich grabdios! Nach kurzem Gespräch mit dem sehr netten Kellner haben wir erfahren, dass die Fleischwaren aus der direkten Nachbarschaft aus einer kleinen Metzgerei von nebenan stammen. Man schmeckte die Frische hier einfach heraus! Die Portionen waren sehr gut portioniert. Als Mann der gerne isst bin ich pappsatt nach Hause gegangen. Danke für den leckeren Abend! Wir kommen wieder!

Eine schöne alte Gaststätte im der Altstadt von Gn Meerholz ,hier wurde auf Deko verzichtet ohne einen abstrich zum Ambiente zu haben. Das Angebot steht in einem sehr guten Verhältnis. Die Hausgemachten Kroketten müssen sie probieren, ein Traum. Reservieren ist empfehlenswert. Ich kann dieses Gasthaus sehr empfehlen.

Gut Bürgerliche Küche. Schnitzel sind sehr zu empfehlen.

Heute zum ersten Mal, mit Freunden, dagewesen und begeistert. Wir hatten uns die riesige Schnitzelauswahl vorgenommen. Wahl zwischen klein/normal/groß ist super obwohl ich es eher normal/groß/riesig bezeichnen würde. Es kamen 4 nicht totgeklopfte, pfannengebratene leeeckere Schnitzel in unterschiedlichen Ausführungen und wir waren alle restlos Zufrieden sowie pappsatt. Wiederholungsgefahr sehr groß und schon "angedroht".

Für mich das beste Schnitzel weit und breit. Sehr netter Service, große Portionen zu einem super Preis und dazu noch extrem lecker. Wir kommen seit Jahren gerne her.
