We've stayed at Herr Ober's restaurant several times before and have always been satisfied. But this time we were speechless. The whole room was very dusty and the floor wasn't exactly clean. The worst part was the bathroom. I've never seen such a filthy bathroom. It felt like it hadn't been cleaned in six months. You can't get hair stuck to the floor by vacuuming. The entire floor was dirty and covered in hair. We then told the nice lady at breakfast that we needed our bathroom cleaned. This was passed on, but only the towels were changed; everything else remained the same. We then tried to remove the hair from the bathroom floor ourselves. It was really stubbornly stuck. You could have made a wig out of the hair we mopped up. It was simply disgusting. Breakfast was okay, and the service from the friendly breakfast lady was very good. But if I have to sleep in filth, that's where I draw the line. ... We'll probably never stay there again, what a shame.

Conditions were great, the food was outstanding, we had homemade head cheese and plaice – simply superb!

I'd say that was the worst service I've experienced in a long time. We were hungry and in the mood for a nice beer. The restaurant "Herr Ober" serves a Marlower beer, which we wanted to try. We were seated by a young woman, and shortly after, a young man came and brought the menus. When we said, "We'd like two large Marlower Pilsners," we expected a "Of course, it'll be right there," but instead, we got a "The trainee is doing that today," and he rushed off again. A little later, the young woman came and took our order (obviously a trainee?) Another couple sat down at the next table and shortly after received their two beers. Some time passed, and our food arrived. When I asked, "Is the beer coming too?", I got a "Yes," nothing more, not an "Oh, sorry, I forgot, it's right there?!" The gruff "head waiter" passed by our table several times; he must have seen that we didn't have any drinks... but no reaction?! After I'd finished eating, I went to the bar to order two beers. The man behind the bar was a bit surprised, to which I replied, "Is it normal here to get ordered drinks after dinner?" Less than two minutes later, the young woman came over and said, "Here's your beer," and put the beers down. Then the "head waiter" came over and apologized for the trainee (he also wanted to pin his misconduct on the trainee). I replied that it wasn't the trainee's fault, but rather poor training, to which he said something condescending, "Now let's all calm down." He left and returned with the words, "If you want another coffee, it's on us" (around 9:00 p.m., coffee is the best idea). I have to admit, my mood wasn't the best anymore. We said no, he left, and came back with, "Or would you like a shot?" I made it clear to him that all I wanted from him was peace and quiet. We ordered two more beers and paid the entire bill without a discount from the house and, of course, without a tip. Conclusion: Never again!

A guest at "Mr. Ober" As soon as you enter, you feel welcome. The cozy ambiance, the warm welcome, and the harmonious overall appearance immediately create an atmosphere where you feel at home. For starters, we had a tomato fish soup, which impressed with its delicate seasoning and perfectly cooked shrimp skewer. This was followed by the "Mr. Ober" fish platter for two people, a delight all along the line. Fresh fish of the highest quality, prepared with craftsmanship and palpable passion. To finish, the kitchen surprised us with a delicious fruit parfait with red fruit compote, light, fruity, and perfectly balanced. The service was attentive, warm, and attentive, without being intrusive. You can feel the good camaraderie within the team; the family atmosphere is directly transmitted to the guests. We were particularly pleased to meet the owner personally, a person who is there for his guests with genuine warmth and passion and lives the philosophy of the establishment. We now even know the story behind the legendary "Schnitzel with Rollmops" from the summer menu, a typically North German dish that's both appealing and appealing. It's no wonder the restaurant is also very popular with locals. The regulars' table with long-time Warnemünde residents is the best proof of this. We would like to thank you very much for this wonderful evening and are already looking forward to our next visit. A huge compliment to the entire team; everything at "Mr. Ober" is just perfect.

First of all, we had a great weekend in Warnemünde. We love the place. The waiter serves really delicious food, the breakfast was excellent, and the staff were super friendly. Full stars for that 🌟 The room, however, left something to be desired in terms of cleanliness. The heater probably hasn't been cleaned in ages; it's full of dust bunnies. Thank goodness we don't need a heater. The shower grout also needs a good cleaning. Maybe just pay attention to it. We're not complaining; this is more of a warning.

We highly recommend this restaurant. We ate there twice during our short stay. We were very satisfied both times. All the dishes were perfect, both visually and taste-wise. The chef is an expert with fish, and the fried potatoes are fantastic. I would describe the ambiance as rustic and cozy. The staff is very friendly and efficient. If we come back to Warnemünde, we'll definitely eat there.

Very tasty plaice fillet eaten with fried potatoes

The room was very nice, except for the mold on the tops of the bathroom slats and the dirty sheets. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was very nice.

We've walked past here quite often. MISTAKE!!! We had Hamburger Schnitzel and Schnitzel with Creamed Mushrooms. It was incredibly delicious, served quickly and hot, and the staff were really friendly. We came in with a PERFECT €5 Aperol and a really great Pilsner from a fantastic little brewery (Marlower Bier), and ended up staying for a while. Definitely worth a visit. Thank you for the hospitality. This kind of thing is rare here. A little spoiler: the walk to the restroom 🤣👍🏻

The Aperol was very good and not expensive. Some of the wait staff were also very friendly. Unfortunately, our children, who had gotten ice cream earlier, were asked to leave the restaurant. We had ordered a drink, and no more than half the tables were occupied. You can do it, but you don't have to.

Ordered bruschetta 🍽️I asked the waitress for some olive oil because there was nothing on the bread or in the tomatoes. The response I got was, "We don't have any!"!!! Unbelievable! (Even if it was a temporary worker, she should know "what olive oil is" 🙉

Excellent food at the restaurant. Good beer and wine selection. The chicken pasta was amazing. We were seated immediately with a walk up party of 4. Food came out quickly. Atmosphere was relaxed.

A visit to Mr. Ober's is an absolute must in Warnemünde. It's beautifully located on the Alter Strom (Old Stream), with superbly delicious food and a friendly staff. We've been going there for years. The food is outstanding!

We spontaneously stopped by for dinner today (July 16, 2025) The three of us: my husband, my daughter, and I. Service is a top priority here, and the staff is especially friendly to children. With a good mood and fun at work, unobtrusive attention, and a warm manner, guests feel welcome. The menu has a wide selection, and there's something for everyone. We had a children's schnitzel with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables for our little girl. My husband had the fried cod with fried potatoes, mustard butter, cucumber salad, and fried potatoes, and I had the Schnitzelit Champignon. Switching to mashed potatoes was no problem at all. I can speak for myself and my daughter. The schnitzel was wonderfully juicy and crispy. The ratio of schnitzel to breading was absolutely perfect. My daughter's vegetables were very crunchy and served in a lovely, creamy sauce. My champignon mushrooms were wonderfully creamy and perfectly balanced. The mashed potatoes were so tender and perfectly seasoned. Refined with milk and butter. A poem, grandma couldn't have done it better. My husband's fish was cooked to perfection—neither too translucent nor too dry. The fried potatoes had a crunch and a wonderfully tender interior. With bacon and onions, well-seasoned and balanced. The cucumber salad was also perfectly matched. The light hint of dill went perfectly with everything. All in all, an absolutely successful dish in all three versions. We're putting the waiter on our to-do list in Warnemünde! See you next year, we'll be back!

We were at the "Ober" restaurant in Warnemünde on a quiet evening, which was barely at 20% capacity. It was all the more surprising that 1. they couldn't make reservations for 11 people, and 2. they were completely unwilling to accommodate simple special requests—such as a vegan or sugar-free option. Even the vegetables were sugared. When asked, the only response was that they "can't prepare something individually for every guest." In an almost empty restaurant, this seems more than weak—and unfortunately suggests that many of the dishes aren't freshly prepared. The staff seemed more disinterested than hospitable overall. Two stars are awarded solely for the attractive decor. Unfortunately, in terms of cuisine and atmosphere, it's not a recommendation.

We ate there for the first time today. There was a delicious schnitzel and asparagus soup. Both were served quickly and were delicious.

We arrived at exactly 3:01 p.m. Upon entering the restaurant, the waitress swept the steps of the small staircase. She noticed us, but barely even looked at us. When we asked if it was open, we were simply given the curt reply of 3:00 p.m. Unfortunately, that's not a good way to attract customers or anything like that. We turned around and left the restaurant. We then found something great a little further on with very friendly service.

We were guests at the restaurant. It's nicely decorated, and the bathroom walkway is reminiscent of Harry Potter. The food was very good. The duck was cooked to perfection, pink.

In this restaurant, a lot of emphasis is placed on ensuring that when there is a group of guests, everyone eats at the same time, which is great. We stayed in Warnemünde for one night and spontaneously wanted to go out for dinner. There was no space to be found almost anywhere. Here we got a small, cute table for 2 people without a reservation. The service was nice. The food was good too. However, we were a bit surprised because there was a peach spritz on the menu. I got an Aperol, when I asked, I was told yes it was an Aperol and they turned around. When paying, we kindly pointed out to another waiter that we meant a different drink by the name. Maybe there could be Aperol there, because I think it's a shame for the price. Then I let my husband drink it.

That was a weekend... Everything was actually nice in Warnemünde. Except for this so-called “hotel”... 🤨 What was that? A hotel that is actually closed today (the restaurant)...so we were "abandoned". Except for a group of 6 on the 1st floor. It was a bit scary. The side entrance dark... The light may have gone off at some point. You come straight into the stairwell or "storage room"... it certainly doesn't look nice when you come in. You first have to look for the light switch. 1st floor the light was still on-2nd. no longer. The hallway is completely cold. The room was also really cold. First the heating was turned up - but it was only half warm - because the radiators were not vented. But it was very loud 🤨 (the noise of the radiators) It stayed loud - because the floor was totally creaking. It is not possible to move quietly. The included WiFi was there - we just missed the password 🤨 The closet in the room can only be opened if you went to the side (because otherwise there was no space to open the doors) The bathroom couldn't get warm at all. Also only one of 2 lamps worked. The room door drags on the carpet in the hallway and there are still paint residues from painting the walls on the door outside. The emergency exit is also a storage area in the stairwell - there is a dismantled couch in front of it. Why?? If someone sits on this couch, no one will come by 🫣 (aside from the fact that emergency exits must be kept clear and not artificially narrowed) The breakfast was disgusting. It was set up especially for us in the restaurant, which was very nice... But everything tasted like the fridge. I missed the food - so we ate outside today. I could write more... I can't understand it, the location is great - it couldn't be better. Why do you leave this aging house so neglected and not use its potential? Actually, it's a shame... In any case, we are very disappointed and will look for other accommodation next time.

There are changing daily specials and a nice menu with fish, meat and tarte flambée, etc. We felt very comfortable here. This was a restaurant I stumbled upon while walking while stopping by Warnemünde during my honeymoon in Germany. I usually don't like fish dishes, but I really enjoyed the flounder here. It was the best fish dish I've ever had in my life, and Apfelschorle was also the best during my trip to Germany. The staff were also very friendly. Thank you for the good memories. +The way to the bathroom is amazing. A little fun.

We wanted to reserve a table and were not served. The staff just stood behind the bar and complained that you were standing in the entrance and no one could get through. Gossiping instead of asking how you can help is the wrong way to deal with guests.

You have to give 5 stars for the food, but deduct 4 stars for the service. We had to wait 45 minutes to order food and then not everything was brought. Of course the food was included in the bill. The service seemed overwhelmed to me, even though the restaurant wasn't fully occupied. We definitely won't visit the restaurant again.

The atmosphere is very pleasant. However, the food was better and my wife had diarrhea and vomiting afterwards, so that's really the last thing you should pay attention to the ingredients. Very expensive in my opinion and the whole thing with such a conclusion. Thank you, Mr. Ober, for this unforgettable evening. Please be careful with the shrimp! I don't recommend visiting.

We spontaneously stayed in the Humidor room for a short vacation. Everything was clean and true to the description, beds were comfortable, even the pillows. We were even able to use the balcony at this time of year😍. The service at breakfast was super nice and accommodating, we We were even allowed to take the dog into the restaurant. The selection and taste of the breakfast was completely fine. The location right on the river is great with a great view, just keep in mind that you can only get there on foot - because it's a pedestrian zone. We are very satisfied and will definitely come back!

Wir waren am ersten Weihnachtsfeiertag dort essen. Was soll man da sagen, dass Essen war sehr sehr sehr gut, der Service absolut top und das Restaurant wirklich schön. Wir waren dort zum ersten Mal und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Auch nochmal ein großes Dankeschön, für die relativ spontane Reservierung. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Heiße und knusprige Bratkartoffeln zu einem leckeren und perfekt gegarten Heilbutt. Was will man mehr!? Gerne wieder!
