Hotel Traube Tonbach - Familie Finkbeiner KG in Baiersbronn

We had a very pleasant and restful experience at the Hotel Traube Tonbach! Service was excellent, we were greeted at the front door by a team separate from the reception as the reception was further into the hotel and not directly at the front lobby. Nevertheless, the team at the front door was welcoming and gave us clear directions, and helped with our luggage and parking our car. The excellent service continued at the reception. Check-in was smooth, and we were given a tour of the hotel facilities before being guided to our room. The room was really spacious, well furnished, and clean! The view from our room was beautiful, and we had a very comfortable rest at night on the huge bed! The hotel facilities were great too, many swimming pools including a heated outdoor one, and many sauna rooms with different temperatures and scents, as well as cold showers and a rest area. Only thing is we wished we had more time at the hotel to experience everything fully!

We stayed for three days in a junior suite at the hotel. We had originally booked a room across the street at the Kohlwald Hotel. We didn't like it there at all. The furnishings were the cheapest plastic, similar to an Ibis hotel, with the feel of a holiday apartment. We would have left immediately; the only alternative was a junior suite. The suite was very nice and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were very good, as was the service. We also really liked the restaurant's decor; they had clearly invested a lot of money in high-quality furnishings. Anyone who doesn't like that simply doesn't know what they're talking about. We wanted to try the Hotel Traube because it's only a three-hour drive for us, while our usual hotels, the Kranzbach and Posthotel Achenkirch, are seven hours away. The spa and swimming area is rather small, but the pool water is nice and warm. However, for us peace-loving guests, there was a huge problem: there were a lot of noisy children. And even the sauna is open to all children. Although there's a sign at the entrance saying "Admission from 12 years old," the sign also says "Children allowed when accompanied by an adult." Therefore, practically any toddler can go into the sauna. ... We will no longer make reservations, but will instead make the long trip to the Posthotel in Kranzbach for the peace and quiet. If anything changes regarding the children, we will come back. Not as things are currently arranged.

We stayed at the Hotel Traube Tonbach and dined at the gourmet restaurant Schwarzwaldstube. We were thrilled with the cuisine; it was like art. The service was very attentive and incredibly friendly. We highly recommend this luxurious hotel and will gladly return again and again.

Not everything that's new and modern is beautiful… I was rather shocked by the rooms opposite the main building. Too much minimalism and little light in very dark rooms (i.e., the restaurant) feels uncomfortable… and this is in the Black Forest! The suites are pragmatically and not furnished with any sense of quality… Getting to the main building for meals requires navigating numerous obstacles with a walker… The restaurant in the main building looks exactly the same as it did 40 years ago… cramped seating, outdated, and anything but modern! The service was very good!!! Everything else falls short of a 5-star standard.

Wonderful: Location, well, there are definitely better ones. But our main priorities were: delicious food and a quiet, comfortable place to stay. Restaurant, Schwarzwald Stube, service and food were unsurpassed, incredibly friendly, all around wonderful, and absolutely delicious. In the 1-star restaurant, the ambiance wasn't to our liking, and the service wasn't as perfect as in the 3-star establishment. But the food was 5 out of 5 stars. Regarding the accommodation: we stayed in the annex and were extremely satisfied. The main building, as well as the very crowded breakfast area, was too loud and old-fashioned for us, and the staff seemed to be suffering themselves – it was the holiday season… We were there around Halloween. Next time, we'll check in advance whether there are any school holidays or similar events coming up ;-) Then it will probably be a total of 5 out of 5. Under these circumstances, it was fantastic for us, and we'll be back. ... But certainly not with an overnight stay in the main building and not with so much "hustle and bustle" (we have children ourselves, by the way, and we know it can be done differently)...

Our stay at the "Traube Tonbach" to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary was absolutely superb. The food was excellent, of the highest quality, and beautifully presented. The service was also impeccable: attentive, professional, and always friendly. The hotel's ambiance is lovely and immediately makes you feel at ease. I would especially like to commend the staff, who were incredibly courteous and always made us feel welcome. The breakfast selection was a real highlight: varied, fresh, and of the highest quality. There truly was something for everyone. The sauna area was equally impressive. The facility is well-maintained, relaxing, and offers everything you would expect from a high-end spa. Special praise goes to the sauna master, who created a true wellness experience with his infusions. All in all, a hotel that absolutely lives up to its 5-star rating. Highly recommended!

We had such a wonderful experience at Traube Tonbach. The hospitality and care from the staff were truly exceptional. During our stay, my husband lost his wedding band, a family heirloom. The hotel found it, kept it safe, and helped us get it back to the USA after we returned home. I want to especially thank Silke, who went above and beyond for us. The ring had to be shipped multiple times due to complications with U.S. customs, and she stayed patient, thoughtful, and kind throughout the entire process. Thanks to her care, the ring was safely returned to us. We are deeply grateful and look forward to returning!

A 5-star wellness hotel with a Michelin-starred restaurant. Everything is very elegant and of the highest standard. Superbly styled, arranged, prepared, etc. It couldn't be much better.

I expected more from a 5-star hotel. The staff seemed unmotivated and inattentive to guests. The room was clean, but not up to the standard of a luxury hotel. Breakfast was very good, but the restaurant staff wasn't particularly welcoming. Overall, nothing special – I've experienced better service in cheaper hotels.

A very nice 5-star hotel. We spent one night there. The heated outdoor pool is superb, as is the gym. The sauna area is nice, but there's no hammam. Be aware that in the sauna, we were the only ones wearing swimsuits; everyone else was nude. The sauna area is closed in the morning. We couldn't enjoy the afternoon tea included in the price because check-in is at 3 pm and afternoon tea ends at 3 pm. Breakfast was perfect, and dinner is a bit pricey if you book an overnight stay, but oh well. The staff speaks almost no French. In short, the services don't live up to what one would expect from a 5-star hotel.

We ate at Schatzhauser. The staff was attentive and friendly. The food was good, but not exceptional. The wild herb salad, once with corn-fed chicken and once with caramelized goat cheese, was truly excellent. The portion was very large. The ribeye steak was cooked to perfection but too pale, meaning it lacked a good sear. For €56, I expect something special. The way the burger was constructed made it almost impossible to eat without spilling. The ambiance is a matter of taste. It's very cold and has a bit of a cafeteria feel. I'm also not entirely clear on the pricing. All in all, I find the prices too high.

Cooking Class with Henry Oskar Fried – Highly Recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The cooking class at the Hotel Traube Tonbach with Henry Oskar Fried was an absolutely outstanding experience and exceeded my expectations in every way. Henry Oskar Fried is not only an extremely talented chef, but also a very personable individual who conveys his expertise clearly and with great enthusiasm. The entire atmosphere was warm, professional, and inspiring. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., we had the opportunity to try out many things ourselves, received valuable tips and fascinating information that went far beyond the recipes. We cooked together at a high culinary level and then enjoyed the results – including excellent wine pairings. The group size was ideal, the pace pleasant, and the balance between pre-prepared dishes and hands-on experience perfect. Every minute of this time was exceptionally well spent – ​​I would attend the cooking class again in a heartbeat and can wholeheartedly recommend it. We expressed our disappointment on-site, but received no reaction other than a shrug and embarrassed glances. • Our "dog room" was very spacious, but the carpet was heavily soiled and stained – this did not create a comfortable atmosphere, especially not at a price of around €400 per night. • We greatly appreciate high-quality hotels and are happy to be generous when the service and experience are excellent. A 5-star hotel where you're human and feel at home. Manners and sophistication permeate the hallways and corridors. We love coming here every year; our children feel at home, and we enjoy our time in down-to-earth luxury. Arrogance and narrow-mindedness have no place here. My impression is that a little luxury and humility are not mutually exclusive. The Finkbeiner family and their entire team work with great passion and energy to ensure that we feel "at home" at the Traube. Thank you so much for this! From arrival to departure, a perfect experience 😀. --- The Traube is located in a beautiful setting. E-bike tours, walks, or short hikes - all of these can be done from the hotel. The hotel's own hut (about a 15-minute walk from the hotel) offers delicious food, whether for lunch or coffee and cake. The kids' court and the children's program are fantastic. The food, drinks, and wines - a poem. ... we'll be back.

We've been here several times – this time with a child. As usual, the service at reception was excellent. Any issues were resolved immediately, and/or the hotel was generous with our needs. I really like the egg menu in the morning. The children's swimming area is very nice. The sauna and sports area is small but nice. Lunch/snack menu was confusing and sometimes sold out quickly. The service at lunch was rather poor – but in the morning, it was quick. The children's play area is huge, but a bit lackluster. It could be improved ;) Cons: A) Always excellent breakfast – but this time we had old (hard) cheese and spilled Bircher muesli (both were replaced immediately). B) The detour to the swimming pool – you're not allowed to walk the 4m through the bar in your bathrobe – that's annoying.

We only stayed overnight to dine in the legendary Schwarzwaldstube restaurant. The reception, the valet service, and all the staff were very friendly and well-trained. From our room, we had a wonderful view of the Tonbach Valley. The cleanliness and evening turndown service were impeccable. However, the winding hotel, the rather worn and too small bathrobes, the spa, and even the room itself left us with some doubts about the price. Therefore, this hotel is not on our shortlist for a longer stay.

A wonderful hotel with excellent cuisine. Our visit to the Schwarzwaldstube will remain in our memories for a long time. The hotel, the organization, and a few minor issues upon arrival and departure unfortunately marred the overall impression. Very clean rooms, very attentive room service (including being offered more pillows), but very noisy. Another negative aspect is the breakfast and its organization. Long waits to be assigned a table, no obvious procedure, and no contact person as they had to help out at the buffet. Ordering drinks and egg dishes at the table took a very long time, and the food did not match what we ordered (the egg was undercooked, despite the pregnancy warning and absolutely necessary). When we left, we were offered to have our luggage loaded into the car. However, when we left the hotel several hours later, we saw our luggage on a trolley at the exit – obviously not loaded. We had to ask for the car to be brought forward in the pouring rain, loaded the luggage ourselves, and got wet. No offer to accompany us to the car with an umbrella. We're used to this and it doesn't meet our expectations of a superior 5-star hotel.

Repeat stay after wonderful days at the end of June. This year, we had a room in the main building with direct access to the forest exit. Absolutely perfect for us with our dog 🔝. They even thought of him. In addition to the dog bed, feeding area, and dog treat bags, there was a great gift box from LILA LOVES IT with felt bones, beef goodies, and a small crocheted bag for treats or dog treat bags... A sweet idea. The view from the balcony was fantastic. The location, the tranquility, the ambiance are indescribably beautiful. The wellness area with fitness center was also 💯. The breakfast buffet is second to none. The food and service in the Schatzhauser and the log cabin were the same as in June 👍 Above all, we would like to once again emphasize the warmth and friendliness of all the staff. You feel welcome from the very first moment! We're already looking forward to next year, when the rooms in the main building will also be renovated. A truly beautiful hotel set in a scenic, peaceful place. Extremely well kept establishment, attended by very friendly and professional staff who attend to all your needs. We dined at one of their restaurants which is dog friendly. The setting is modern and clean. The food was delicious and the service worthy of a luxurious establishment. Breakfast was delicious with so much variety of fresh fruits, cooked options etc. The Spa is a must visit whilst there

Now comes a truly spectacular experience: Arriving in paradise, the Black Forest. A 3-star restaurant and a 1-star restaurant. You don't often get more than that. Plus, a 5-star superior hotel of the finest quality. The fine Silberberg guesthouse restaurant. Plus, two restaurants and the Schwarzwaldstube ***. Outstanding staff with excellent training and expertise work here at a very high level. It's wonderful to be able to enjoy that. All this in the very small town of Tonbach, a district of Baiersbronn. There's a large wellness area with a fine sauna world and various pools, including a gorgeous outdoor pool. Beauty treatments and massages round off everything. Highlights of the week are various themed buffets and always a gala dinner. (All included in the price of the guesthouse.) There's also a very good log cabin very close by. Here you can have a small snack, a snack and coffee, or enjoy a fondue evening and barbecue. Everything is possible and always great enjoyment. We wish the Finkbeiner family all the best for the future and continued business success.

We spent a relaxing weekend at the Traube and have rarely been so satisfied. We booked the Garden Show Special and a dinner with Indonesian guest chef Degan Septoadji. The garden show is fantastic, and the food in the practical backpack is surprisingly plentiful! We were particularly impressed by the evening with the guest chef: We felt the service provided us with excellent advice and were able to truly experience the culinary journey to Indonesia. A big thank you to everyone who made this experience so extraordinary! We left the Traube with a rather uneasy feeling during our last stay, but this time the dark clouds were completely blown away. We'll be back.

For years, this has been a regional institution for fine dining and excellent service. Kudos to Fady and Toni for the excellent cocktails at the bar, and to everyone on the team who always ensures a good atmosphere at the Silberberg Restaurant. I look forward to my next visit!

Given the long history and tradition of this hotel, I find it difficult to understand why you have to wait a good 20 minutes for a server to come to your table, even though we were the only guests at the Rosengärtle upon arrival and were told we were being monitored by the outdoor cameras and would then be served immediately. The coffee, cold drinks, and cake were very tasty, however.

We spent a long weekend there after years. The large outdoor pool was perfectly warm. It was already warm even early in the morning. A small breakfast was also available by the pool. The breakfast was excellent. In the Rosengarten, we had to take care of the service ourselves on two days. In the evening, we went to the new one-star restaurant. The meal was delicious, but it took over three hours to serve. The only real criticism were the hard benches. Ask for a table with armchairs or chairs. The decor is reminiscent of a cafeteria, not a Michelin-starred restaurant.

We're currently on vacation here and absolutely thrilled. Even though the room isn't modern, we really like it here. We're especially pleased that the hotel is very child-friendly. Diapers, a changing table, wet wipes, a kettle, and a bottle warmer were all available in the room next to the crib. Our daughter is always spoiled by the staff at breakfast, too. There are toys for the children everywhere :). We would definitely come back, as the hotel is very family-friendly.

After a serious illness, I fulfilled a lifelong dream: Once in my life, I wanted to sit in the Schwarzwaldstube...at the round table in the back right by the window...This dream came true this spring with my family, accompanied by delicious, unimaginably imaginative food, wonderful wines, and something very special: highly competent, attentive, witty, intelligent, and relaxed staff who consistently made you feel: Dear guest, it's great that you're here! An unforgettable evening. Unfortunately, I don't have as many stars as I would like to award...🌟

Room: Our room was uncomfortably hot – without air conditioning. Instead, there were only two or three simple fans, which provided little cooling. Design: Subjectively, we found the room design to be rather unconventional. The gray and red color scheme seemed cold and more reminiscent of a cheap B&B or hostel than a high-end hotel. Service: The service at breakfast was also rather – let's say – reserved. Positive points: The spa area was excellent – ​​spacious pools, a beautiful sauna area, and very good childcare.

We stayed at the Traube from June 25th to 29th and were absolutely thrilled. We had a deluxe room in Haus Kohlwald with a stunning view of the Tonbach Valley... our beagle, Dumbledore, was also superbly pampered there... in addition to the chicken being prepared, extra blankets were laid out on the wonderful balcony to cover the gaps and prevent him from stepping in... The hotel is incredibly professionally and lovingly managed by the Finkbeiner family and GM Björn Deinert, who was always there for anything and incredibly present... we had very good conversations with him... what an asset for the Traube... he was also a Guest Relations Manager for a long time, so it's in his blood! Since I also worked in management positions in the hospitality industry for a long time, we are particularly pleased to have had such a wonderful time... We also know several similar luxury hotels (Überfahrt, Severins, Budersand...etc).... But the Traube is the benchmark... I would especially like to emphasize the relaxed and casual atmosphere in a hotel of this category... A quick word about F&B: We didn't go to any of the Michelin-starred restaurants, but we did try the Blockhütte (wonderful) and the Schatzhauser Restaurant (top), as we're not necessarily people who eat long menus... All in all, it was great, and the staff is incredibly motivated and anticipates your every wish!!! CONCLUSION: We'll definitely be back and keep up the good work!! All the best from Mainz, Michael

A dream vacation for all ages – we'll be back! One of our best vacations ever! The perfect blend of relaxation for us parents (great wellness and sports options) and a lovingly supervised, varied children's program that delighted our children. A real highlight was the trip to the farm – simply wonderfully organized. Our family room was very spacious and comfortable – ideal for our family of seven, which is truly rare! We were particularly impressed by the service: The staff knew us by name by the second day and knew how we liked our coffee – simply fantastic! The food was also a delight – every day was a highlight. Conclusion: All around warm, high-quality, family-friendly – ​​and absolutely fair in price. His attentive, charming, and professional manner, especially when dealing with suggestions for improvement, is remarkable. The sauna infusions were excellent and a real highlight. The food at the Silberberg was outstanding, a first-class culinary experience. The service throughout the hotel was consistently excellent and very attentive. The pool area and fitness room were always clean and well-maintained. I particularly enjoyed the guided hikes with friendly guides. The opportunity to rent Excellence e-bikes was fantastic, and the region offers excellent, traffic-calmed tours. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Traube Tonbach!

Despite its incredible exclusivity, the Hotel Traube Tonbach is completely intimate and not at all pretentious. You quickly feel at home and realize you're a guest. So many little things make a difference. And the food is anything but ordinary, but you know that...

We weren't hotel guests, but we had an invitation to the breakfast buffet. We received a very warm welcome, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was very extensive, with a wide selection of dishes, and everything was fresh and deliciously prepared. We highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

A few years ago, there was an argument from the chef!! I don't think that this big fire broke out in Taube Elektronik!! I think it was arson!!.

The impressions described here relate exclusively to the visit to the Schwarzwaldstube restaurant, which took place on April 13, 2025 at 7 p.m. The entire process, including Menu II, was more than overwhelming and characterized by extremely lasting taste sensations. The expectations were high - and yet they were exceeded. Further visits after the menu changes (every 2 months) cannot be ruled out :-). Yesterday we went to Traube Tonbach with a small group of former colleagues and had a wonderful evening. From reception to service, we were treated extremely friendly, and we would particularly like to mention Benjamin Scheiter, who warmly welcomed us and made us immediately feel at home. The selection of drinks was varied and the food was simply excellent. Each of us found something to our liking and we were impressed by the quality of the food. The overall atmosphere in the restaurant was welcoming and contributed to a relaxed experience. We can only warmly recommend Traube Tonbach and are already looking forward to our next visit!

As a lover of fine dining, a visit to the Schwarzwaldstuben was a must and an incredible pleasure! A menu was served at the highest level and was a work of art for the palate! The corresponding wines were perfectly matched and well chosen. It is also the most expensive of the 3-star restaurants in Germany, but absolutely justified and we still agreed to make the visit a tradition. The night in room 430, however, calls that into question. We have never slept so badly at such a high price. The bed was sagging, although the fire understandably put a hold on the renovation of the rooms, investing in new mattresses and pillows would certainly be a good option! In addition, I would have expected a good and well thought-out reception to not give the worst room to a guest who paid over €2000 for one night (including spa and Black Forest rooms). I would have preferred to leave that night - for the sake of my back...

Good Hotel and great location. However, we went to the 1789 restaurant and I got really sick afterwards: food poisoning. Mentioned it to the management team, a couple of times. But they did not care. After checkout the next day, mentioned it again, but nobody really gave a damn. So in retrospect, it is a great hotel, but they do not really care about you.

We didn't lack for anything during our stay. Great service, excellent food with a breakfast buffet, and the wine tasting was equally amazing. All around, we were satisfied and very suitable for families with children; the facilities for the little ones are really great. We'll definitely be back!

The service, the food, the drinks were all top 👍 everyone was very friendly and on Friday evening an incredibly good evening buffet. The lounge and the spa area were a dream. The junior suite is getting a bit old... that carpet with those curtains 🤷‍♂️😅 what can you say about that. There was no coffee machine in the room, but you could order one and the double bed had two mattresses that were much too soft! Unfortunately, the last topper was already sold out. The televisions are stone old and small “no speakers and not even a Bluetooth box…

Beautiful hotel with excellent food. We really enjoyed our time here. The hotel is large, which is particularly noticeable at breakfast.

The experience of drinking coffee in the spa hotel, unfortunately only a shadow of what it once was! A cracked pane of glass in the hotel bar on the window front facing the valley, chipped table legs, wood under the blue seat covers that has not been cared for in ages, a worn café menu, an average Black Forest cake, a service that was friendly, but cleared the dishes as if they were stacked at a campsite with loud clatter after clatter. The chipped whipped cream bowl and the cheap-looking cutlery also matched it. Passing staff walking towards the toilet…..no greeting, nothing. In the 90s, Mr. E. Degler would have shot us to the moon, that's for sure... That wasn't worthy of a 5 star hotel! Sorry.

3 stars for the hotel and 5 for the restaurants results in 4 stars in the middle. The hotel is already getting old and has unfortunately lost its 5 star shine for us. The rooms look shabby, there are stains on the carpet, the couch has seen better days... all the 5 star amenities were there, but the extra class was missing. The service was consistently friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, the breakfast did not meet my expectations, even if the complaining is at a high level. No requests were asked or it was mentioned that there were egg dishes a la carte. When asked, they said of course... but the Egg Benedict was carelessly brought to the plate and unfortunately too hard... It was too loud in the breakfast restaurant, places were reserved for half-board guests, so visitors to the evening star dining had to sit in the aisle. Perhaps an idea would be to create two areas so that guests who enjoy a child-free time can also enjoy this. The same applies to the spa area, it's a shame that there aren't enough berths. Extremely loud on Saturday, a few chairs and loungers away from the pool bar - there is more space. The restaurants Schatzhauser and the Schwarzwaldstube, on the other hand, were both top class.

Edit: Don't remove the opinion!! I just want honestly to describe my time there, this is not a lie!! Once I had a possibility to work there but didn't sign an agreement. I had many problems at my arrival. Just a negative experience, even more because travelled about 1200 kilometres to reach the destination. I don't recommend this place. Hotel is also overpriced in my opinion. 415 Euro for one night is very unfair. It is not a luxury place inside, just old and isn't located in any interesting location.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel. The service was outstanding, the room was spotlessly clean. I was particularly impressed by the spa area – pure relaxation at the highest level. The saunas, the pool and the selection of wellness treatments leave nothing to be desired. The breakfast was also a highlight: a huge selection of fresh and high-quality dishes. We will definitely be back and have already booked again.

Simply perfect. We were in the Traube Tonbach over New Year's Eve... With everything that goes with it. No wish is left unfulfilled here. Beautiful suite, fantastic food, perfect breakfast, cozy wellness area and outstanding service. It really makes you wonder... Why wander into the distance?!

Classic, traditional hotels are perfectly maintained here! On our nostalgic trip, we found everything to be pleasantly hospitable and without a stiff atmosphere: from the extremely friendly and attentive staff to the friendly hotelier. Particularly original and nice was the house's spontaneous invitation to guests for a mulled wine drink in the garden, where other guests came together informally. It goes without saying that good cuisine is served here, but unfortunately the new restaurant premises clearly lack Black Forest comfort: too objective, austere and arbitrary for our taste.

The worst service ever... all we wanted was coffee and cake... finally in the Traube Tonbach - you could assume they could provide coffee service - or at least a decent warm cappuccino -... but unfortunately that was a complete disappointment.. .it would take too long to write everything that went wrong - so keep it short and sweet - never ever! I

Disappointed with the treatment the director gave us, as there were vacancies, they forced us to sign volunteer documents saying we could be hired, telling us he had no vacancies for us, and us to arrive from more than 300 km away. He offered us to work illegally and voluntarily without a contract. We lost time, money and self-esteem. They deceived us by promising to hire us without a written explanation, without giving us the opportunity to work or demonstrate our experience, and there are many contradictions.

We spent a wonderful Christmas holiday in the Traube. Above all, the special warmth of the employees and the family makes you feel particularly comfortable in this hotel. As expected, the food is very good - but the sports offer with the courses (BodyArt) is also particularly worth mentioning - that alone makes a visit to the Traube worth it ☺️

We only stayed there for one night to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were so impressed by the truly exceptional service! We always had the feeling that everything was being taken care of and that we were warmly welcomed. So much so that we are coming back with our son in January to treat him to the spectacle too and we can enjoy it again! Thank you very much 🙏

My husband and I went there for coffee and cake. Our cappuccino took forever and was ice cold when it was brought to our table. Another feature for us was that we didn't want to book an overnight stay there (tastes are different) that the hotel is kept very dark and therefore seems cold.

I was happy to stop by the new extension - just for a coffee and a piece of cake. Of course, the Traube Tonbach certainly still meets all the demands of upscale gastronomy. The staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, the cake offering on site was a bit sparse. What shocked me a little was the fact that the new building was deserted on a Saturday afternoon between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.🤷 We were curious about the architecture and design! But that was quickly satisfied - at least from my side. As always, it's a matter of taste, and certainly not a seal of quality for the gastronomic needs of its guests: I personally found it cold, aloof and not remotely inviting or homely. A futuristic, minimalist, brown exposed concrete block without any atmosphere. “Is that how you wear it today?” 🤔😅 But again: "As we all know, beauty is in the eye of the beholder" 😅 So, no offense! It will certainly remain a popular gastronomic institution at the highest level in the future. But also an investment in a very distant future - at least as far as costs are concerned. 🫣

Definitely a nice restaurant, unfortunately the vouchers expire and the management is not accommodating here either - a shame.

We were there from October 24th. until 27.10. with 8 people in the Traube Tonbach to celebrate a big birthday. Booked an evening in the star restaurant. However, we canceled it again because they didn't want to place us in this restaurant. (We were 8 adults) We then left this turnover in another star restaurant... The evening before we were at the “Schatzhauser” and were supposed to pre-register all meals. We were asked several times by phone whether we wanted an aperitif in advance. Felt like pressure to sell to me. We insisted on not ordering in advance and then went there in time for dinner in the evening. Unfortunately the map is very clear. 7 out of 8 wanted the same appetizer (Kikok chicken with mayo). Unfortunately there were only three of them. Something like that can happen at a kebab stand, but not in an upscale hotel. The breakfast was extremely good, the waiters there were very nice and helpful. At Schatzhauser it seemed to me as if they were understaffed... We used to be very enthusiastic about the temporaire. (A temporary star restaurant after the fire). That's why we booked ourselves into this hotel again. Unfortunately there is no risk of a repeat. When we checked out we weren't even asked how we liked it. We stayed in the main house. The rooms there have carpeted floors, which is a no-go for allergy sufferers and hygiene-conscious people.

Awful in all aspects Rooms are of a moderate standard Breakfast, well, there is much better elsewhere, reception very arrogant Conclusion Never Again!!!

Oh, it was nice to be there again. As always, a hotel to feel good about. The new building of the old main building turned out great. We ate at Schatzhauser, great service. Thank you again for that. Also big praise again to the wellness department, I enjoyed a wonderful Black Forest Hot Stone massage

Basically, the Hotel Traube Tonbach is a nice hotel. However, it is by no means 5 stars but rather 4 stars. The gastronomy is at a very high level, but the service and the room facilities are catastrophic for the prices quoted. My biggest criticism is the service. The staff is often very slow and does not give the impression of being well trained. For example, when we checked out, we were assured that our suitcases would be picked up from our room. After a 40 minute wait, we finally gave up and went to reception with our suitcases. The service at breakfast is also very chaotic, the food is only replenished slowly, the waiter doesn't come by himself and orders are forgotten. The staff reacts defensively when criticized and doesn't say a word of apology. Overall, I can only recommend the hotel's restaurants (especially the Schwarzwaldstube). I can only advise against staying overnight in a hotel. It's really a mystery to me how Michelin can award 3 keys here.

The service is awesome. The senior manager personally comes to his guests and asks about their satisfaction. The employees are all extremely friendly and helpful. The 🌟 🌟 🌟 internal restaurant is a dream and a must for every fan of gourmet cuisine. Yes - we would love to come back and are looking forward to the rooms after the renovation, which is probably planned for 2025 or 2026.
