The rooms are in need of renovation and not very clean. Cables are hanging around, there is dust in the radiator and on the lamps. The stream from the faucet sprays in all directions. The battery cover is missing from the remote control for the TV. There are no direct parking spaces; there is limited parking available on the street side (many parking spaces are only for residents) The boss and the staff are very nice. There is an Indian restaurant on the ground floor, the food is very good. The old town is worth a visit. Beautiful old buildings, towers and city walls.

We booked a single and a double room at short notice and the service was very nice. The single room was bright and clean at first glance - the only thing you weren't allowed to open was the drawers as the previous person's rubbish was still in there. The double room was extremely narrow, you could hardly walk around the bed, the furniture, well - some say old-fashioned charm, others say worn out. The pillowcase was dirty, wasn't replaced despite being spoken to, and the beds were extremely low. I haven't had a shower curtain in a hotel for a long time and there was only a mixer tap at the hand basin. Lots of - even small - heels on the way to the room and in the room. In the double room there is no seating, no table, not a single hanger in the closet, no shelves to put something down, no coat rack hooks... Good location on the edge of the city center, everything within walking distance, parking in front of the city wall for €6/day. If we come to Rothenburg again we'll look for something else - although it's quite cheap for Rothenburg, it's unacceptable for the service offered.

After checking in for an unnecessarily long time, we were finally allowed into the room only to find that the entire hotel and the room reeked of Indian food. But anyway, after a 100 km bike ride, finally get into the shower. Then the next disappointment: the shower is broken. Thanks for nothing 🙈

Gelsenkirchen Baroque in need of renovation.

The hotel is located near the center...everything is within walking distance. The room is in serious need of renovation. As cyclists, we had to pay an additional €5 per person to charge our e-bikes (4 people). This has never happened to us in any other hotel. No mention of this in the hotel descriptions. We cannot recommend the hotel.

A bit outdated but clean rooms with everything you need. The central location is ideal. The friendly and helpful staff is great.

Terrible, ripe for demolition. Not even remotely up to date with the times when it comes to fire protection.

Run by very kind Indians really... then again, easy location to move around in the center of this fabulous city of Rothemborg

We arrived by bike and the gentleman at the registration desk was the first to ask for 5 euros per bike for loading the bikes. Then immediately the ID cards and money for the rooms. Afterwards we were finally allowed into the rooms through dark corridors. The sanitary facilities were limited in terms of cleanliness. The beds were good.

Good restaurant at good spot after good climbing good food to have

We spent two nights in the black eagle. Of course, the rooms cannot compete with standard hotels. But the operators responded very flexibly to our needs and the house itself is a historical experience. Our review focuses on the service and food in the Indian restaurant. The latter was really very good.

The location of the hotel is good but no parking space. You have to walk a few hundred meters to reach it. The rooms are very old and dingy. Ancient carpet, worn toilet seat, silicone joints are probably from the last millennium. For the price you should be able to expect more.

Super friendly staff and very tasty food in the restaurant below. The rooms are a bit run down, but the bed and bedding are new and everything is clean.

The hotel is simple and very clean and is located right in the old town. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We liked it very much. The Indian food in the restaurant was super delicious. We'll definitely come back sometime. LG

This is a very cozy and good hotel with super friendly service and a very good breakfast!

If you don't have too high expectations, I think this hotel is completely ok for the prices. It really is by far the cheapest place to stay in the old town. The only thing to note is that you have to use the public parking spaces for 5.50 per day (including Sundays).

The photos of the rooms are misleading... Small and dirty room, the sink was in the room and not in the bathroom. There is no hairdryer, no staff. Inadequate value for money.

Be careful, many of the reviews seem to be out of date. Read the review by Thorsten H. The pictures are very accurate. The existing building is very nice and old. But the rooms are completely run down, poorly patched up and the furnishings actually come from the bad 70s. The bathroom is even worse. The whole building is very noisy due to the old structure. When someone took a shower the 4 rooms heard it. For 60€ that would probably be OK. We would have to pay 120€ without breakfast. The staff was very friendly but here they clearly just live by substance and use the good old name. Please booking to sell something like this as a deluxe apartment is a bad joke.

Were there for the second time. Unfortunately this time it was just average. The food was OK, but you could have cooked it at home. I have the feeling that the dishes have been “Germanized”. I'd rather have authentic cuisine again. That's why you go out to eat Indonesian...

A different type of room, but at least there was a fan in the room.

Just managed to put in our two bikes under a staircase. No facility to charge the batteries. The room was quite ok.

Les chambres, le mobilier et la déco sont minables, certes le prix est économique mais finalement, à y réfléchir, le rapport qualité prix n'est pas très bon. L'emplacement est super, en plein centre de la ville mais l'établissement ne mérite pas qu'on s'y arête.

All in all okay to good. Late check-in was perfect. Location too, nice and quiet location in the city center. We parked at P5 (cheap) from which it is a few minutes walk. We got a friendly welcome. The beds were really good and comfortable, new mattresses for sure. There was a water cooker and standing air conditioner in the room. The room was clean, but the shower cabin had a lot of chalk on the doors which I do not find clean enough for a hotel. Unfortunately our room (23) was above the air outlet of the Indian restaurant downstairs and after leaving one window open because the air in the room was damp, all our clothes smelled like indian food. Not the best, honestly. But overall satisfied with the stay.

Nel rientro dalla Norvegia ci siamo fermati a Rothenburg ob der Tauber in Germania. Cittadina in stile medioevale con mura complete intorno al centro. Abbiamo soggiornato all'Hotel Adler gestito ora da una famiglia indiana che gestisce anche il ristorante indiano annesso e ci siamo trovati benissimo.

Zentral gelegen, nettes Zimmer, es fehlt ein Kühlschrank.

Older rooms but good value. No air conditioning but there was a nice fan in the room.

For the price it was ok, bed comfortable, shower ok, room adequate. Curry next door is excellent worth a visit, don't expect UK type food, rice lovely.

Super! Wir haben sehr gut gegessen - klare Empfehlung. Sehr freundlicher Service. Gern wieder! Das Lokal scheint erst vor kurzem eröffnet worden zu sein. Zuerst war das etwas verwirrend - es heißt Taj Mahal und ist im Gebäude des Hotel schwarzer Adler.

A good budget place and friendly service and helpful staff.

Ausgesprochen schönes Ambiente. Man hat aus einem historischen Gebäude das Mögliche gemacht, um einen schönen authentischen Gastraum zu schaffen. Auch ohne Reservierung haben wir zu viert um 12:00 Uhr zur Öffnung des Restaurants einen Platz bekommen. Aufgrund der wenigen Tische ist jedoch eine Reservierung wirklich empfehlenswert. Der Empfang war äußerst freundlich und nett, nicht aufgesetzt, sondern wirklich herzlich. In der Karte findet man überraschender Weise auch Produkte aus Ente, was ich in indischen Restaurants bisher selten gesehen habe. Ansonsten gibt es alle üblichen Gerichte in einer absolut hervorragenden Qualität, jedes Gericht ist fein abgestimmt gewürzt. - Alle Gemüse und Produkte sind definitiv frisch (keine Dosen-Produkte etc.) . - Fleischprodukte sind grundsätzlich perfekt gegart und äußerst schmackhaft. - Die Portionsgröße ist entgegen den anderen Rezensionen völlig in Ordnung. - Auch der Anteil an Fleisch im Gericht ist korrekt angemessen. Wir waren zu viert am Sonntag 16.4.23 hier essen und waren mit einer Vorspeise absolut gesättigt. Eine Nachspeise, war leider für uns zu viel. Daher kann ich zu den Desserts nichts sagen. - Das Thema Getränke ist mir auch aufgefallen, dass diese leicht über dem Rotenburg – Innenstadt – Preisniveau liegen. Trotzdem bin ich der Meinung, dass bei der Freundlichkeit und dem sehr sehr guten Service (unaufdringlich aber elegant) ein Gesamtpreis von 116 € für vier Essen mit Vorspeise und Getränken absolut angemessen ist für eine Touristen Stadt wie Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Von unserer Seite her eine ganz eindeutige Empfehlung, wenn man im schönen Ambiente authentisch indische Küche genießen möchte. Wir werden in jedem Fall dort öfter einkehren. Vegetarische Gerichte Wenn man beim Inder kein vegetarisches Gericht findet, dann hat man ein anderes Problem.. Es gibt hier wirklich sehr appetitanregende Gerichte. (Ist zwar nichts für mich, denn für mich heißt ein Tag ohne Fleisch, ein verlorener Tag). Kinderfreundlichkeit Es steht ein sehr stabile und großer Kinderstuhl bereit. Parkplatz Mit der Rothenburg Karte kann man 1 Stunde kostenfrei parken. Das ist minimal zu kurz, wenn man gemütlich essen will, obwohl die Speisen nach der Bestellung sehr zügig kommen. Bei einem gemütlichen Mittagessen sollte man sich 1 Stunde 20 min Zeit nehmen. Wenn man an der Straße vor dem Restaurant oder in der Seiten-Straße keine Parkplätze findet, kann man circa 200 m Fußmarsch in Kauf nehmen und auf dem großen Parkplatz außerhalb der Stadtmauer 1:30 Std. kostenfrei parken. Bei 300 m Fußmarsch kann man ein E Auto an der Lade Säule auf diesem Parkplatz am Bezoldweg laden und dabei 4 Std. mit Parkscheibe kostenfrei parken Zugänglichkeit m. d. Rollstuhl Vom gehweg aus einwandfrei zugänglich, minimale Stufe.

Sehr gut gelegenes, etwas in die Jahre gekommenes kleines Hotel. Das Zimmer war geräumig, einfach ausgestattet und sauber. Sehr gutes Bett. Obwohl bei booking ausgebucht war, fand die Rezeption noch ein Zimmer für uns. Unkompliziertes und freundliches Personal. Für Ostern guter Preis. Das Bad (Dusche und WC) war alt, Waschbecken im Zimmer. Im Erdgeschoss ist ein indisches Restaurant, das wir nicht ausprobiert haben.

My stay at Hotel Schwarzer Adler was super! It was cozy and calm, the facilities especially the heating system works great👍. The workers are warm people, so also the restaurant in the hotel has nice meals. My friends and I felt so comfortable we have no complaints. 😃

Neuer Inder in Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Super tolles, leckeres Essen, ich liebe es. Schneller Service und essen kam auch schnell. War einiges los an Gästen.

Preis Leistungsverhältnis zu teuer, dafür aber sehr gut gelegen.

Rundum ein sehr guter Service, angefangen beim Empfang über Gastfreundlichkeit , Frühstück und ein mega Lage direkt in der Altstadt... Kann man Guten Gewissens sofort weiter empfehlen... 👍👍👍

Kleines gemütliches Zimmer, war ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt dort.

Alles top und für einen Aufenthalt in Rothenburg bestens geeignet. Falls man mit dem Auto anreisen sollte, eignet sich am besten der Parkplatz P5. Von da aus sind es circa fünf Minuten bis zum Hotel.

Eine Reiseroute durch mehrere fränkische Städte führte mich unter anderem auch nach Rothenburg. Mein Aufenthalt hier war rückblickend sicher einer der Höhepunkte meiner Reise. Das Hotel "Schwarzer Adler" hat einen nicht unerheblichen Anteil daran. Urig und liebevoll eingerichtet passt das Hotel sehr gut zum Ambiente der Altstadt, die fußläufig erreichbar ist. Die Ausstattung ist vielleicht nicht hochmodern, aber ich habe alles vorgefunden, was ich zum Wohlfühlen brauchte. Der Service ist exzellent und das Team vor Ort sehr um den Gast bemüht. Viele kleine Details machen den Unterschied. Ein Erfrischungsgetränk beim Einchecken (bei Außentemperaturen von über 30°C Gold wert), oder der Koffer, der bei Bezug des Zimmers schon an Ort und Stelle war. Das Rührei, das mir beim Frühstück frisch zubereitet an den Tisch gebracht wurde (das selbstgebackene Bananen- und Müslibrot ist sehr zu empfehlen). Ich fand es auch sehr angenehm, durchgehend mit Namen angesprochen zu werden (ohne vorherigen Blick ins Buchungssystem), das hat dem ganzen eine sehr persönliche Note verliehen. Alles in allem habe ich mich hier sehr gut aufgehoben gefühlt und würde gerne irgendwann wieder vorbeischauen.

Sehr hübsches, kleines Hotel. Gemütliche Zimmer und der Service ist top. Frühstück klein, aber toll. Es wird auf alle Wünsche eingegangen. Zimmer sauber. Standort perfekt.

Top Service. Excellente Gastgeber. Herrliches Frühstück. Sehr saubere Zimmer. Wir hatten zwei traumhaft schöne Tage in und um Rottenburg herum verbracht. Das "Brunnenbier" am Abend zusammen mit einer herzhaft gut schmeckenden Bratwurst von Marco bleibt unvergesslich.

Lovely place, great location and incredibly friendly owners. We had a late night check in and the process was very easy and safe. The room was just what we needed go get rest after a long day walking around and eating in the old town. We would definitely come back :)

Sehr uriges Hotel im Herzen Rothenburgs. Hier fühlt man sich nicht als Kunde, sondern tatsächlich als Gast! Egal ob bei der persönlichen Begrüßung, den Reisetipps oder der Buchung einheimischer Lokalitäten: alles wurde professionell & charmant erledigt. Das Frühstück ist übrigens ebenfalls top. Das Hotel ist klein aber fein und liegt sehr zentral. Fußläufig ist in 5 Minuten die Altstadt mit den meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten zu erreichen. Das Zimmer ist von der Größe vollkommen ausreichend und gemütlich, sowie super sauber. Das Bad ist auch von der Größe vollkommen ausreichend. Das Bett ist super, man kann sehr gut schlafen. Die Inhaber sind super, total lieb und sehr zuvorkommend. Sie lesen den Gästen die Wünsche, die Sie erfüllen können von den Augen ab. Besser gehts nicht. Richtig herzlich, wer sich hier nicht wohlfühlt, der hat selber Schuld. Hier ist man nicht nur König, sondern eher Kaiser. Das Frühstücksbüffet ist vielfältig und man findet alles was das Herz begehrt. Der Frühstücksraum ist sehr gemütlich und geschmackvoll eingerichtet.

Die Gastgeber sind beide vom Fach. Das merkt man. Der Gast wird beraten und umsorgt. Da kommt man gerne wieder. Umbestellungen sind kein Problem und werden sogar vorgeschlagen
