Hotel-Restaurant Zur Heide in Aachen

This pleasant hotel is located a few meters from the highway, just before the Belgian border. Our room was well-equipped and extremely quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed the food at the inn. The breakfast was very good. The friendly staff also deserves special mention.

Large, modern rooms and a superb on-site restaurant. We'd love to come back.

Great hotel outside Aachen, with a great kitchen. About 15 minutes by bus from the center. Excellent connection to visit Aachen. Rooms are neat, you step into the German 70s with an upgrade to the present day... Service at the table is great!

Beautifully located restaurant, very good, down-to-earth but exquisite cuisine!

Regular place for our family meals. From fish to steak, from soup to dessert, everything is always excellently prepared. The only downside is that word has gotten around about how good it is and you have to reserve early. Otherwise I can only report very positive things!

I would have preferred to give service -100 stars. What a bad experience we had here. We booked a double room together with 3 other couples. We were given a single room. When I very kindly asked for another room, I received the answer that there were no other rooms and that all customers had already checked in. Our friends arrived later and still got a room with a double bed, lie number 1. The next day we check out, and it turns out: we have to pay €26 more than the people who got a decent room. When I point out the injustice of this, the woman at the reception is downright rude and unwilling to compromise. Unfortunately they are cheaters and liars, so I would recommend looking for another hotel, there are many nice ones in the area. And hopefully they won't cheat you there. In the response below they say that we booked the wrong room. This is not true at all, and I was also able to show this (booking confirmation) in the hotel itself. We were 4 couples. 1 of the couples booked directly and indeed had a lower price. The 2 other couples (WHO ALSO BOOKED THROUGH BOOKING) received a lower price. Another mistake happened right after us, and the woman IMMEDIATELY adjusted the price of these people. She just didn't want to help us and wouldn't let us pay a fair price. Lots of blah blah here in response to our review, but the service in real life was really bad. She laughed at us! Maybe spend a little more time on your service at the hotel than on answering reviews with lies? :)

Great kitchen, nice rooms. Your palate and soul will be pampered

We ate here with the family in the hotel restaurant. The food itself was okay but nothing special. Personally, I think the food doesn't match the price-performance ratio. I ordered fillet tips with potatoes etc. €27.90. What I imagined it to be. A nice plate with three delicious fillet tips, reasonable pieces. Delicious sauce with a few potatoes. Reasonable restaurant quality. Unfortunately, what I got felt like a stew with a few small pieces of meat in it, some were soft and others were hard. And a total of five small pieces of potatoes. I also ordered fries as a side dish. But the fries were so soaked in fat that I've never seen before. So it's much more than just fat. Unfortunately the ice cream was not of high quality. And the cream went straight in, I don't think it was made in-house. Unfortunately disappointing for my standards. Atmosphere was still nice. But it reminded me of a cozy pub. We didn't stay at the hotel and I can't say anything about it. Staff was friendly. Shortcoming. If you want to go out to eat with more than ten people, you will get a very limited menu. If desired, it is still possible to order from the normal menu. I've never had that before, for example.

At the gala menu on New Year's Eve we were not only spoiled with the food, the drinks and, above all, the ambience in the Heide with its employees left nothing to be desired. Thank you for the lovely evening, I enjoyed every minute.

Always beautifully decorated for the season. Food excellent - we had goose and fillet. As well as redfish. Of course, dessert couldn't be missed: Dame blanche with Belgian chocolate and creme brulee. This is what a visit to a restaurant should be like!

Very well run hotel. We particularly liked the free parking lot. I enjoyed the modern bathroom with enough space to change clothes, which is now standard in various hotels. The furnishings are modern and well maintained. I slept very well… a breakfast with rolls from the bakery rounded off the stay positively! I'll be back

Subject: Complaint about disrespectful behavior in the “Zur Heide” restaurant Ladies and Gentlemen I would like to give you feedback about my last visit to your restaurant because I had an extremely unpleasant experience that I did not expect. I recently visited “Die Heide” with three friends. During the evening, I was repeatedly not taken seriously by your staff and treated like a child on several occasions. The obvious reason for this seemed to be that my friends drank alcohol while I chose not to. Unfortunately, the staff concluded that I was younger or immature, which led to several inappropriate comments. I was repeatedly called a “child,” which I found very disrespectful and inappropriate. I understand that there may be misunderstandings if not all guests at the table consume the same thing. However, in a restaurant like yours, I expect that all guests are treated equally with respect - regardless of their drink preferences. The experience of constantly being laughed at and not taken seriously marred the entire evening. I hope that you take this feedback seriously and talk to your staff about respectful communication so that no other guest has to go through a similar experience. We felt very comfortable, very good service, friendly and professional. The food was good, but I deducted a star because I expected homemade hollandaise. But we'll be back.

Was there on Tuesday for dinner with a business colleague. Very good food. Not exactly cheap - but you get what you pay for. The service/operation leaves nothing to be desired. The menu selection for dishes is - let's say: modest. But there is something for everyone. And the “something” is also very good for that. All in all: Very good value for money. You can eat really well and comfortably here.

Visited the restaurant! Starter: Wild mushroom soup / Very good Main course: Schnitzel Bernese style / Good Dessert: Ice cream with nuts in coffee liqueur / Sufficient Service: The ladies and gentlemen were on point and very attentive Will visit the restaurant again to try a steak.

Were there for dinner. Very tasty cuisine with a nice greeting from the kitchen.....Very nice and friendly staff.....great extra praise to the kitchen and the nice boss....Small but completely sufficient menu...is basically for Something for everyone. Prices are a little higher than in normal restaurants but in my opinion they are totally justified... It's best to try it out for yourself...

We had dinner here again with our son, daughter-in-law and grandchild. What we noticed positively about a year ago was that our little granddaughter, 4 years old, also received a greeting from the kitchen. Very friendly and courteous staff and boss who also have some fun. Food and desserts, especially the strawberry ice cream, were very good. We will continue to enjoy eating here again in the future. Went to the heath again today and the food, for me it was the lamb ragout, was just as we are used to on the heath. It was very tasty.

Not recommended as a vegetarian. I ordered a vegetarian dish. It came with meat. It was then explained to me that there was the same dish with meat and I should know that the dish with meat was also available somewhere else on the menu and I should explicitly order the vegetarian dish. I assumed that the dish was vegetarian under the vegetarian category. It's obviously my mistake that, as a vegetarian, I don't look at the whole menu. I think that can happen, but then I don't blame the guest for the confusing menu, but rather ask when ordering. Quite easy if you do it cleverly.

…well, we arrived by bike. We were greeted very friendly and were able to safely park the bikes and have a cool drink. Afterwards we moved into our rooms, which were nothing special, but the rooms were clean, comfortable beds and great showers in the bathrooms, which were also very tidy and clean. That's enough for us, we really only use the rooms for sleeping/showering etc. But what absolutely thrilled us was the really friendly, committed staff, the great breakfast and by far the best food that we know from our hotel stays. Very, very great. It's worth taking a vacation there at any time just for the excellent cuisine, the delicious beer and the equally delicious wine. A big shout out to everyone who makes this possible 👍👍👍👌

The quality of the food is excellent. The outdoor area has been designed to a very high standard and invites you to linger for a longer period of time. This is also a great place to celebrate on larger occasions.

The hotel appealed to us because we were in Aachen for an event, it is located near the motorway and is family-run. We were more than positively surprised. The owners and staff are great, the service is still alive here and the friendliness is authentic! Very good and tasty products in the restaurant, beautiful beer garden, great rooms with blinds and extremely comfortable beds, cleanliness 1a, rich breakfast, large, free parking lot. We felt very comfortable and were perfectly looked after. We would love to come back and have already booked again. Thank you very much for the great short vacation and many greetings from the 2 girls from Lipperland and Lower Saxony.

The hotel has a very convenient and central location, has a beautiful large outdoor area and offers newly renovated rooms that are equipped with everything you need. I would particularly like to highlight the excellent food in the restaurant and the exceptionally friendly service! When we left we forgot a T-shirt, which was sent to us in no time at all without any complications. Thank you again for that! We'd love to come back.

Last night we went to the Heide very spontaneously and without a reservation at around 7 p.m. The restaurant was - on a weekday! - filled to the last place. But we were allowed to wait, and after a few minutes a table became available and was hastily prepared for us. What followed was an all-round successful evening. As always, the service was attentive and extremely friendly. The greetings from the kitchen were a delight, as were the starters, including the best asparagus cream soup I have ever tasted. It took a while before the main course as a fairly large party was being served in front of us. The kitchen bridged the waiting time with a delicious sorbet. The main courses were first class, everything was prepared to perfection and served attractively. The final bill was absolutely reasonable for the quality of the food and the great service.

We were only there to eat, but the quality and service made it a real pleasure. Not a cheap meal, the price performance is more than justified. All in all a great experience.

Gestern waren im gut besuchten Restaurant. Schon beim betreten der Schankstube fiel uns ein scharfer Parfümgeruch auf. Uns wurden Plätze im Zwischenraum angewiesen. (Schankraum/Speisesaal) Die Gäste vor und hinter uns hatten schon die Fenster auf Kipp gestellt. Leider mussten wir feststellen, dass, wie auch schon beim letzten Besuch, ein Kellner wahrscheinlich ein Parfümbad genommen hatte. Wir hatten keine Chance unsere Speisen ansatzweise zu riechen. Was nutzt der beste Service und die schmackhafteste Küche, wenn der Geruchssinn zeitweise verloren geht.

Lekker op vakantie in zuid Limburg op boerderij camping Schrouff in Vijlen. Koken op de camping is leuk maar uit eten zeker zo gezellig. Dan ga je op zoek naar restaurants met een goede actuele score in de omgeving en kom je uit in Aken. Op basis van Google en TripAdvisor gekozen voor deze locatie. Het eten was goed, lekker en in de juiste proportie. Verrast met een amuse van de zaak en een bediening waar menig restaurant een puntje aan kan zuigen. Kortom; als we nog eens in de buurt zijn… en zo niet dan kan ik, wij het je zeker aanraden

Just wow! I honestly don't know if I've ever experienced such good service. The staff is very attentive and extremely friendly. We booked an overnight stay, basically as a transit. Rooms are rustic and very clean. The food is fine dining and very tasty. Greetings from the kitchen for children were very lovingly prepared, there was a small fruit plate. We went here for dinner on Saturday evening. The service is great and the ambience is great too. The food tasted good but the salad could have been a little less and a little more dressing. We also didn't like the fact that the meat was on top of the vegetables and that's why the sauce was. The appetizers before the main course were delicious. At the end there was a nightcap.
