Hotel-Restaurant Wiendl in Regensburg

A nice, somewhat outdated hotel in Regensburg. A little outside the city center, but easy to get to. Nice staff and clean. A little old, but still more than okay.

Very personal and friendly interaction with the guests and the staff is very attentive.

The three of us were recently in this cozy beer garden, which wasn't that busy. First of all, it should be mentioned that our food was very, very good. Especially the homemade potato salad, a compliment to the excellent cuisine. But what motivated us to only give it 2 stars is the fact that we had to deal with an older, dark-haired service person who probably doesn't like her job. For almost every drink we had to run into the dining room to place our order; the lady at the bar rolled her eyes to express her displeasure. When we asked her about it, she smashed a glass on the neighboring table out of sheer anger. We then saved a tip.

We slept there one night because we were there for the football. It was absolutely sufficient for us and the breakfast was good too. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were noisy but clean. We would stay there again.

Very friendly little hotel. Simple but cheap rooms. Very nice beer garden and very good cuisine at moderate prices. I have stayed here regularly and felt very welcome and almost at home. Definitely recommended as an alternative to chain hotels.

May 2024. Hotel Wiendl in Regensburg kmr. 210, 2nd floor. Hotel in a quiet location. Ten minutes by bike to the center, 25 minutes by foot, also by bus. Price includes two optional excursions. Modern but slightly dated. Very slow elevator. Good free wifi. kindly taking time (but was not busy) spacious room (5x4.5 m?) has soft carpeting, low beds with very irritating unnecessary headboard, making it impossible to read or watch TV while sitting down. Remove quickly!! No fridge and safe. Cooling blocks were allowed in the freezer. Badk. modern furnishings and plenty of storage space, large sink, toilet of sufficient size. But the shower cabin is unnecessarily much too small (enough space for a large walk-in shower), poorly closing shower doors, high exit and very slippery, no handle; Very risky getting out for the elderly! Hot and cold water worked poorly. After complaint: "there is no other option". Bath towel awkwardly large; can be half smaller (also saves costs!) because there is no (swimming) pool. Package dinner very good and up to standard! Safe car and bicycle storage. If areas for improvement are quickly addressed, an excellent, quietly located and clean, recommended hotel with very friendly and helpful staff/owners. Regensburg: Nice center and many restaurants. Tour with train (paid) was very disappointing. The "Walhalla tour" (boat, expensive) is a real waste of money unless you want to climb another 100 meters (?) to the "temple" at the end for the view. Explanation and demo playing of the main organ in the Cathedral very successful. But three days in R.burg is really enough.

Highly recommended hotel near Regensburg University and old town ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I have now booked my third stay here. The hotel impresses with its very friendly and accommodating staff. You will always get help here if you need something. Individual needs are also taken into account. The rooms are decorated in a classic style and very well maintained. The rooms are not lacking in amenities; in addition to shower gel, shampoo and hairdryer, you will also find a toothbrush cup and towels. A television is also included in the rooms. Great price. Parking spaces are available in front of the hotel. It's about a 20-minute walk to the university and the old town. About a quarter of an hour to the train station. All in all, a highly recommended hotel. I will be happy to come back if I ever need a hotel room in Regensburg again.

I was at the restaurant with a cool and professional waiter but I didn't like the fish rissotto which was good

First of all: I was satisfied and everything was OK. Still, for me, a star is missing everywhere.. For me it was like a little journey back in time to the 70s with the corresponding charm. And that's not meant in a negative way. The rooms were clean and everyone was friendly, the breakfast was good and the price was OK. The rooms COULD be more modern, the breakfast COULD be richer, the price COULD be cheaper... Anything could... But it's OK the way it is. And 4 out of 5 does not speak for a relegation. And as I write here I like to think back to the old elevator and remember the drinks under the huge chestnut tree. And I'm smiling. I would come back.

A nice, rustic rather than modern hotel with very friendly staff, free parking spaces, a restaurant (I haven't tested it) and clean rooms at a fair price for Regensburg standards. The train station, city center, TU & university as well as the district clinic can be easily reached on foot and especially by bus or car. However, this also means that there is a lot of traffic on the road, which was still audible even with the windows closed. However, it wasn't so loud that it was really annoying and the hotel can't handle traffic. I stayed at the Hotel-Restaurant Wiendl for one night, was completely satisfied and would book here again at any time.

Went there for dinner with 15 people some time ago... I ate another great soup (broth) and I wasn't alone in my opinion! The mixed roast was also very good. Thank you

Today we were 20 to 25 people after a funeral in the Wiendl restaurant after prior reservation. Food was very bad and completely overpriced for this quality. Never again !!!!

Essen so lala. Kann man schon essen. Muss man aber nicht unbedingt hingehen. Service ist ziemlich chaotisch. Wie gesagt, besser woanders essen.

It was my first time staying in this hotel for an overnight stay. The arrival was very good, the reception at the hotel was very accommodating, friendly and warm. The room, in my case it was a double room as a single room, was very nicely decorated. The bathroom was super nice and everything was spotlessly clean. The bathroom is equipped with soap dispensers at the sink and in the shower, hairdryer, facial tissues, everything is available. Breakfast is served in a beautiful dining room, the sun shines beautifully in this room, the breakfast buffet is very lovingly prepared and rich. The selection is great. I will book this hotel again for my next stay in Regensburg and I can only recommend it to everyone.

In general, the Hotel Wiendl was quite ok. But nothing more. Some of the furniture was very old and breakfast was over. Rolls tasted like they were from the day before, coffee was weak and from a pot. I stayed in the hotel for one night and it didn't have to be any longer.

Very nice family-run hotel that is not far from the city center. There are even some parking spaces directly at the hotel, which I found very pleasant. The on-site support is very attentive and friendly. A highlight is the attached restaurant. The food is fully recommended. I ate very well there. The breakfast was varied and very good.

The restaurant deserves a consistently positive rating. The dishes are always freshly prepared and impress with their quality. The service is impeccable and is always attentive and courteous. In addition to the restaurant, the attached hotel offers a cozy atmosphere, exceptional cleanliness and an ideal location close to the city center. I would happily recommend it.

At the funeral feast they wanted as precise a number of guests as possible and only a choice of 2 soups and 2 main courses was possible. We expected that it would be normal for a restaurant to have more than 4 dishes and sometimes 20 or 60 guests. What was particularly annoying was that, despite previous information that it would take at least 15 minutes until the food was served, the eulogy was followed after 5 minutes when the food was served: "Liver dumplings or asparagus cream soup?" was interrupted.

Nice family hotel with a restaurant, something for every budget. Staff and service are great, you feel like you're in good hands. We had a small incident and were immediately taken care of with care. The only drawback was that the bed creaks 😃 otherwise you are well advised to start from the Süd train station, Arcaden. The restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday, but otherwise everything is delicious and everyone is on their toes. Many thanks to the hosts and stay as you are and above all healthy.

Ein Hotel in das man gerne wiederkommt. Ein Regensburger Familienbetrieb, hier ist man Gast und keine Zimmernummer. Das Frühstück ist üppig und der Biergarten hinter dem Hotel ist mit seinen alten, großen Bäumen sehr schön. Die Zimmer sind sauber und die Küche bietet noch selbst geklopfte Schnitzel.

Gut gelegen zur Universität. Preiswert und gut. Ich würde sehr gerne wieder hier übernachten.

Die Bedienung sind sehr freundlich zu den Gästen und kann man auch gut essen und trinken und mit dem Auto, Bus 🚌 ist auch gut erreichbar.

Die Regensburger Sonntagsmaler bedanken sich, dass sie sehr kurzfristig den Biergarten für eine Vereinssitzung nutzen durften. Alles sehr nett dort. Schönes Ambiente und zuvorkommender Service. Leckere Eisschokolade! Es hat allen sehr gefallen dort. Dankeschön!

Kleines Hotel mit Restaurant, die Zimmer sind klein aber sauber. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und zum Abend gibt es im Restaurant noch eine kleine Auswahl an Speisen und einen absacker. Zu Fuß zur Innenstadt sind es ca. 15 Minuten.

Zimmer etwas klein, aber sehr sauber. Günstig in der Nähe der Altstadt gelegen. Sehr freundliches Personal und ausgezeichnete Küche. Hotel ist bei einem Besuch von Regensburg sehr zu empfehlen.

Wir waren für eine Nacht Gäste des Hauses. Die Zimmer sind klein und abgewohnt. Unser Zimmer ging zur viel befahrenen Hauptstraße raus - hier rollt schon früh zeitig der Auto- und LKW-Verkehr durchs Zimmer. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung. Der Raum zum Abstellen der Räder war klein und schmal. Unpraktisch bei mehreren Rädern.

Gemütlicher Biergarten im Hinterhof. Sehr freundliche und aufmerksame Mitarbeiter. Gute Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken, vor allem auf der Wochenkarte.

Wir waren dort nur essen. Über die Zimmer kann ich nichts sagen. Ist aber ein sehr beliebtes Hotel bei Monteuren.

Heerlijk eten in de biergarden. Vriendelijke bediening. Goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding. Je hoeft voor het eten de stad niet in als je in het hotel verblijft

Schnitzel Wiener Art mit kleinem Beilagensalat zu über 15€. Kein Problem. Steht ja in der Karte. Gut war es auch. Leider habe ich eine kleine (!!) Kinderportion bekommen. Da hatte sich der Wirt auch noch mal 50 Cent am Schweinefleisch sparen müssen. Der Preis ist somit in keinster Weise gerechtfertigt. Rechnet doch mal durch wie oft ihr das kleine Gewinnmaximierer Schnitzel mit den 50 Cent Extragewinn verkaufen müsst bis ihr den Ausfall unserer Gruppe damit kompensiert habt...

Im Zuge eines Regensburgbesuchensübernachteten ind speisen wir im Hotel Wiendl. Superleckere Küche mit ausgezeichetem Braten. Das Schnitzerl mit Meerrettich war sehr lecker. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Das Frühstück bestand aus allem was man zu einem guten Frühstück braucht. der Kaffee war lecker, Müsli, Eier, verschiedene Aufstriche... die Zimmer waren sauber. Beim nächsten Mal wieder gerne.

Eher zufällig sind wir hier gelandet, da wir im Hansa Apart Hotel übernachteten und abends keine Lust mehr hatten, zum Essen noch in die Stadt zu laufen. Beim Betreten fühlten wir uns in die 80er-Jahre zurückversetzt, der Biergarten ist eigentlich nur ein kleiner, gekiester Hof. Die Speisekarte bot auch keine großen Überraschungen. Als das Essen dann kam, waren wir sehr positiv überrascht: hervorragender Salat mit knackfrischen Zutaten, sehr gut angemacht, das Schnitzel war perfekt gebraten mit einer wolkigen Panade wie aus dem Bilderbuch, Pommes, Getränke und Kaffee nach dem Essen waren perfekt. Das Ganze zu einem unschlagbaren Preis! Der Service war etwas distanziert, aber professionell. Fazit: nicht vom Ambiente täuschen lassen, die können hier wirklich was!
