Hotel Restaurant Sächsische Schweiz "Lichtenhainer Wasserfall" in Sebnitz

A very atmospheric place located at the last station of the historical railway, right next to the waterfall. The cuisine is very tasty, many vegetarian dishes, a large selection of desserts. The service in Polish was a pleasant surprise - fortunately, because the card was only in German :)

Great hotel and definitely worth the money for the price. We stayed here one evening while walking the Malerweg. There is a bus from the end point of day 4 back to this hotel so you can easily end here (and start again the next day). It is a nice, authentic hotel. The room had recently been renovated and looked fantastic. In the evening the guests leave the restaurant and it is wonderfully quiet here. The food tasted fantastic and the staff was friendly. Highly recommended, especially with all the nature in the area.

An interesting tourist destination in Saxony Switzerland

Very friendly staff, very good, hearty cuisine and clean, nice rooms. I had to spontaneously stop by today with my nephew and luckily we got a room from the friendly owner. We'd love to come back!

Nice restaurant and friendly staff. We were here for lunch. The roast pork with dumplings was very tasty. Here you can take smoked trout to take home. Unfortunately, the waterfall next to it was destroyed by a storm. But there are numerous trails for hiking from here.

After you say what you want to drink, the staff leaves again. You wait over half an hour for the food and then it's too salty and without ketchup or mayo.

We were lunch guests in the restaurant. Kudos for the smoked trout. Great dish! The meat from the sauerbraten was also ok, but the red cabbage and dumplings weren't convincing. The service was nice, the attention to the guest had room for improvement.

Went there for lunch today. The food was really delicious. It was also very nicely prepared and the portion size was good enough to fill you up. Ambience also very appealing and cozy. Staff really very friendly and attentive. All in all very recommendable.

Super clean double room with modern bathroom. Comfortable clean double bed. Room was very pleasant. Breakfast was great, something for everyone. Very friendly and helpful staff. Bus stop and Kirnitzschtalbahn only 60m away. vs. an ice cream machine. Beautiful nature/area. There are 5 free parking spaces on site for hotel guests. Fine. Even a place to charge electric cars.

Fish sandwiches for €4.50 with dry old bread rolls. Impudence! When I complained about it, the lady claimed that it had been freshly made...

We only had a drink here... The friendliness of the lady at the bar leaves a lot to be desired and the price of drinks - especially considering that this is self-service - is too high. There is also a construction site outside right now (July 2024...

I wasn't a customer of this cafe, but we parked nearby and the parking meter took our money but didn't give us any proof of payment. We went to this restaurant to ask for help and without missing a beat the staff were so helpful. After our hike, we had a delicious beer before heading home. The location and the restaurant itself are beautiful. If you want to take a break during or after a hike, don't miss this gem!

The food tasted good, only the schnitzel was really tiny. Since I wasn't full, I ordered a dessert, which was also a very small portion. 23€ is quite hefty.

The food from the snack bar was good, but the staff was annoyed and the toilet couldn't be opened despite inserting a coin.

Excellent Solianka with chickpeas and vegetables, fortified with meat, additionally enriched the wonderful time in Saxon Switzerland. It was still open after 5 p.m. Thank you for the service and knowledge about the dishes.

After a hike we stopped there to have something to drink and, if necessary, eat. We first waited in front of the outside service window and unfortunately we weren't served. Then went in to order. When you arrived inside you weren't greeted very warmly. We then placed our drink order and asked if we could take the drinks outside, which was possible. We paid straight away because we wanted to get out and even gave a tip. Up to this point everything was okay apart from the unfriendly greeting. Unfortunately, after a few minutes it started to rain outside, so we went back inside. We were greeted there with the words “Didn’t you want to sit outside?” in an unfriendly tone. When we sat inside, the waitress never came to us to ask for further orders. (We would have eaten and drank something else.) At a restaurant that advertises family tradition for over 120 years in the restaurant and even on the website, you expect at least friendly service. Apparently there is no need to earn money here anymore. Afterwards we would not recommend the restaurant and will not come here again.

Short stop after the train ride, the children had rice pudding and drinks. The rice pudding was well received and we had a lovely sit outside by the stream in the beer garden.

We were there one night. A very nice room with a nice view of the river. Very comfortable bed and everything very clean. The rooms are also fairly newly renovated and the bathroom was very nice and clean. The dinner and breakfast were also very tasty. The only thing that can be improved is the WiFi in the room. There was practically no reception in our room. But there was a great reception in the dining room and outside. We'll definitely come back. 👍

Cozy restaurant on the Kirnitzschtalbahn with a waterfall next to it. Food and beer were great. The operating robot is a nice gimmick.

I ate here years ago. Unfortunately, when I was there with my brother in October, I noticed that the menu was different. The food was good, but unfortunately my favorite dish was no longer on the menu. Service was very good despite the large crowd.

Hi dear travelers, Some time has passed now, but since I can't get this unpleasant encounter out of my head, I would like to share my thoughts with you. A few weeks ago I went to Saxon Switzerland for a weekend trip with a friend. Arrived at the train station in Bad Schandau, took the ferry over to the city center and took the beautiful cultural train to the Lichtenhain waterfall. Highly recommended. I'll leave the visit to the local restaurant up to you. I have previously been overwhelmed by the helpfulness and tolerance of travelers in France and Spain. In my experience, Germany unfortunately regularly disappoints me in this regard. The control over the wilderness in Germany is unique. Even a small waterfall is made as difficult to access as possible. So there is no place to draw water. Now I ventured into the restaurant. After a proper greeting on my part, I politely asked if I could fill up my bottles with tap water in the toilet and the person in charge at the restaurant then told me that this would cost 50 cents per bottle. Joar short shock and the message from me that I don't have any cash with me (it's supposed to happen) and I'm asking my friend if she has any in her pocket. In front of the restaurant I processed what I heard and I just couldn't believe it and left it at that. It's water after all. The source of life. In Germany we pay around 0.2 cents per liter for water. So I'd rather save myself the bills for this. In restaurants of this type and age, it is not uncommon for there to be a spring water connection somewhere from which water can be drawn, but that is purely a guess on my part and will hopefully not be true. That would add the crown of disgust to the whole thing. I hope that this message reaches this person, because economics or not, from a purely human perspective it is really just sad and shocking in my eyes. It doesn't matter how many travelers ask for (tap) water! The next day we took the bus past and from the outside the restaurant looked very full. I would suggest that you first reflect on how blessed you are to have a restaurant of this size in a tourist area surrounded by wonderful nature. You seem to me to be a little confused with pampering. All the best, you poor soul!

We ate here with a small child. Without asking, the children's menu and children's cutlery were immediately brought to us. The portion sizes were more than sufficient for all family members, extremely tasty and very appetizing. The waitresses were always friendly and asked several times if everything was OK. The sanitary facilities were bright and clean. Rarely eaten so well! thanks for that

Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe essen. Der Gastraum ist gemütlich eingerichtet, die Toiletten trotz Hochbetrieb sauber und ordentlich. Für später bestellt war es dennoch kein Problem eine Stunde eher unsere Plätze einzunehmen. Das Personal war bemüht alle Wünsche freundlich zu berücksichtigen und auch bemüht alle 20 Essen zeitgleich zu bringen…leider ist das bei der Menge unterschiedlicher Essen so gut wie unmöglich auch alles perfekt zu haben. So waren die überbackenen Sachen schon etwas trocken und das Kinderessen kam ganz zum Schluss und ziemlich knusprig. Geschmeckt hat alles sehr gut. Die Preise sind für diese Lage sehr human.

Wir sind das 2.Jahr in dieser wunderbaren Gegend und haben bereits mehrfach in diesem Restaurant gespeist, und jedesmal war es ein wahrer Genuss. Das Essen ist einfach lecker. Der Service ist einfach toll und sehr, sehr freundlich. Wir kommen gerne wieder nächstes Jahr.
