einer der schönsten Ausblicke im ganzen Elbgebirge - Ausgangspunkt schöne Wanderungen, runter ins Tal das für mich bedrückende Bad Schandau muss ich nicht, dann lieber irgendwie rüber nach Wehlen oder auch Rhaten... mich berührt das Panorama auf die Schrammsteine, links davon in Fortsetzung, rechts der Blick rüber zwischen Johannisstein und Schrammssteinen bis nach Böhmen... schade dass die Leute hier andere nicht an der Schönheit dieser Natur-und Gott-gegebenen Landschaft vorbehaltslos teilhaben lassen wollen

Wir verbrachten zwei Nächte vor Ort. Die Unterkunft bietet eine wunderschöne Aussicht. Die Qualität der Speisen und der Service waren gut Das Frühstück hat uns ebenfalls ausgereicht. Gelegentlich kam es zu kurzen Wartezeiten. Das Zimmer war geräumig und der Balkon hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Allerdings war die angrenzende Straße recht laut.

Habe hier nur Wurst geholt, wie immer lecker. Im Gasthaus selber waren wir noch nicht, wir machen hier Urlaub.

Das Essen ist einfach lecker! Ich kann es nur weiter empfehlen! Unbedingt anhalten, dort stimmt alles!

Das Essen war sehr lecker und der Nachtisch ist absolut empfehlenswert. Besonders toll ist auch die große Auswahl für Vegetarier!🫶🫶

Ein Gasthaus mit toller Aussicht und gutem Essen. Wir waren nicht das erste Mal dort. Aber…. Ein Spargelgericht mit 3 Stangen Spargel für fast 26 Euro ist echt schon frech.

Gasthaus mit Bestem Ausblick. Sehr nettes Personal, auch bei Ansturm. Hervorragende Warme Küche, und hier bekommt man auch noch Wurst/Käse Platten zum Abendessen, wenn man es mag. Parkplätze sind ausreichend vorhanden. Außenplätze sind zur Zeit wegen Umbau eingeschränkt, aber wenn die Terrasse wieder geöffnet hat, wird man mit einem atemberaubenden Blick belohnt. Wir gehen hier immer essen, wenn wir in Sachsen, Zimmer kann ich nicht beurteilen, da wir immer anderweitig wohnen.

Das Essen war super lecker und die Kellner sehr aufmerksam. Von dem Ausblick ganz zu schweigen. Wir kommen sicher wieder.

Wir waren dort um zu Mittag essen. Sehr zu Empfehlen.

Mehrfach hier zum Essen gewesen sowohl 2024, als auch schon 2023. Immer sehr zufrieden gewesen. Gutes Essen, gemütlich gestaltet und zuvorkommendes Personal. In der Urlaubssaison ist eine vorherige Reservierung empfehleswert. Und auch 2026 an Ostern wieder hier zu Abend gegessen und sehr zufrieden gewesen!

Waren heute zum Kinderfasching vor Ort. Müssen an dieser Stelle ein großes Lob loswerden! Wir kommen nicht aus Altendorf und wurden herzlich empfangen. Die Organisation war super und die kostenlosen ,,Extras" für die Kinder waren einfach toll. Auch wir Erwachsenen konnten einen der leckeren Pfannkuchen abstauben. Auch die Preise in der Speisekarte waren top. Vielen lieben Dank nochmal! :-)

Wir waren zur Firma Weihnachtsfeier eingeladen. Es war ein sehr leckeres und reichliches Buffet.

I'd gladly give an extra star for the service. The waiter was so friendly, charming, and humorous; we felt very well looked after. The food seemed entirely handmade, the red cabbage and sauerkraut definitely handcrafted, and the pork knuckle was a real treat.

Delicious food that's also reasonably priced, good service, and a fantastic view. Five stars! The butcher shop is also very good ♥️ and worth a visit. I can't comment on the rooms.

The guesthouse is located directly on the Painters' Way, making it ideal for an overnight stay. The room was sufficiently large and clean, with a firm mattress, just the way I like it. There's a regular bus service from Altendorf to Bad Schandau, taking only fifteen minutes, and the fare is covered by the guest card. In the morning, a rich and varied breakfast was served – just the right fuel before the next leg of the Painters' Way to Neumannmühle.

A rustic country inn with a consistently high attendance, offering a beautiful view of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. Excellent food, friendly staff, and the quality is fully justified by the slightly higher price. We'd gladly return.

Damn good, hearty food, traditionally Saxon. Plenty of game on offer, from the in-house butcher. Good prices for good-quality and good-quality portions. Plus, a great view over the fields all the way to the Schrammsteine. The service was also very friendly and incredibly fast. I'd be happy to go back anytime.

The end of the third stage of the Malerweg trail led us to the terrace of this beautiful inn. The food was excellent (fresh mushrooms picked in the forest, the sophisticated "Heiterer Blick" sandwich, and the Swedish ice cream sundae), the service was exceptionally friendly and attentive, and the value for money was excellent. An absolute recommendation to round off a successful (hiking) day 👌🏻.

Excellent food at the end of the third stage of the Malerweg trail on a stunning panoramic terrace. A must for all hikers. We felt very comfortable here. Great service, a wide selection of drinks. That's what you want from an inn.

We spontaneously stopped by last Sunday. After asking about a free table, the curt reply was, "You can see it's full," and we were left standing. After about an hour, we tried again. A couple at our table asked if they could sit at a table in the sun. The gruff reply was, "No, that's a different area" – even though she was serving there. As she left, we heard her say, "That's enough now." Customers seem to be a burden for the two older ladies serving here. As for the food: My wife had a baked potato – it was cold. My beef roulade came with dumplings from a discount store and a sauce from a packet. At least, that's how it tasted. There are much better restaurants in the area.

We only ate here three times during our vacation, but we did so because it was simply fantastic and everything was truly delicious. The name says it all: from the terrace, you have the best view of the surrounding countryside and the most beautiful sunsets. The staff is also very friendly. We can recommend it at any time.

Beautiful beer garden with a sensational view. The food is absolutely fantastic! No convenience food! Everything is freshly cooked. Fair prices. And very attentive, yet unobtrusive service. There's also a guesthouse on site and an on-site butcher shop.

We stopped by the Heiterer Blick Inn for the first time today. The weather was so nice that everyone wanted to sit on the terrace, including us. The terrace was filled with about 100 guests; I didn't count. The staff had their hands full and handled it very well; I really enjoyed it. We, based on personal experience and my own conviction, can recommend a visit here. Keep it up, we'll be happy to come back.

Very friendly owners, even though it was closed we were able to get a room. The room was basic but nice and clean with private shower and toilet. The location was beautiful. The breakfast was basic but fresh and OK.

This restaurant absolutely enchanted us; we'll definitely be back on our next visit to Saxon Switzerland! The view is breathtaking, and the outdoor terrace is absolutely idyllic in the sunshine. Beautiful view from the terrace, friendly service. Unfortunately, the food was frozen: chicken schnitzel, dumplings, and peas – all just reheated/fried. The rump steak was fresh, and the fried potatoes were homemade. Overall, okay; some things were fresh, some were convenience foods. It had more potential.

Delicious, down-to-earth cuisine, a great selection of food and drinks, and friendly staff. What more could you want? The food arrived very quickly. It's a shame we were only there one evening.

We stopped by for dinner and were not disappointed. The view outside is stunning, and you can even bring your dog. I recommend making a reservation, as we just barely got the last spot. The selection is plentiful, and the food is delicious. Even our dog got a treat :)

As a hiking group from Berlin, we regularly visit this restaurant. The service is excellent, friendly, and courteous. We always enjoy coming back. Keep up the good work.

Because occupancy seemed high, we reserved a table on the terrace by phone. Unfortunately, we were initially ignored upon arrival and then told that everything outside was booked. When we pointed out the reservation, they replied that they didn't know who we'd spoken to, but that the reservation would probably only be valid inside. After that, we were left standing and ignored again. Meanwhile, a small group behind us was seated at another table with other people. Part of our group then inquired about where to go inside on their own and were briefly seated in the dining room. Meanwhile, a seat outside randomly became available, which we then took. The service afterwards was cool, and it was noticeable that we weren't welcome. Other guests received much friendlier service. The food was okay, but ultimately, this was overshadowed by the unfriendly service. Unfortunately, the restaurant doesn't live up to its name, "cheerful view."

I can wholeheartedly recommend this guesthouse. We stayed here for one night with two families. The rooms are very clean, and the value for money is excellent. Even though the guesthouse is closed that day, they cooked for the guests in the evening. The breakfast is also excellent. We would love to come back.

We stayed here for two nights on our Malerweg hike. The inn was perfectly located for our three-stage hike. The bus to Bad Schandau leaves practically from the front door. The breakfast left nothing to be desired, with delicious sausage from the in-house butcher shop. Dinner was also delicious. Many thanks again to the landlady, the Kliche family.

We visited the restaurant. The service was great. The view from the outside area is also fantastic. The dining room itself is not that inviting. The inn stopped there in the 90s. My food wasn't that great either. If you don't like meat or just like poultry, there are unfortunately not many delicious dishes

For me, the Heiterer Blick inn was the perfect stopover between the second and third stages of the Malerweg. The food was really good – down-to-earth, fresh and just right after a long day of hiking. The service was friendly, attentive and pleasantly quick. Particularly nice: I even got two ibuprofen for my knee pain - that was real hospitality and made the stay even more pleasant. For anyone who hikes the Malerweg and needs a good meal and a friendly break: absolute recommendation!
