Rooms cannot be rated as we were only guests of the restaurant. The home-style dishes were delicious and reasonably priced. The service was very busy in the very hot weather, but still kept an eye on everything and was friendly. Sitting outside on the terrace (similar to a beer garden) is very pleasant when the weather is nice.

This restaurant absolutely enchanted us; we'll definitely be back on our next visit to Saxon Switzerland! The view is breathtaking, and the outdoor terrace is absolutely idyllic in the sunshine. We received a very friendly welcome and service. The food is delicious; the meat is very tender and flavorful, and the beer/shandy was also excellent. Reservations are recommended during the season.

Beautiful view from the terrace, friendly service. Unfortunately, the food was frozen: chicken schnitzel, dumplings, and peas – all just reheated/fried. The rump steak was fresh, and the fried potatoes were homemade. Overall, okay; some things were fresh, some were convenience foods. It had more potential.

We stopped by for dinner and were not disappointed. The view outside is stunning, and you can even bring your dog. I recommend making a reservation, as we just barely got the last spot. The selection is plentiful, and the food is delicious. Even our dog got a treat :)

As a hiking group from Berlin, we regularly visit this restaurant. The service is excellent, friendly, and courteous. We always enjoy coming back. Keep up the good work.

Because occupancy seemed high, we reserved a table on the terrace by phone. Unfortunately, we were initially ignored upon arrival and then told that everything outside was booked. When we pointed out the reservation, they replied that they didn't know who we'd spoken to, but that the reservation would probably only be valid inside. After that, we were left standing and ignored again. Meanwhile, a small group behind us was seated at another table with other people. Part of our group then inquired about where to go inside on their own and were briefly seated in the dining room. Meanwhile, a seat outside randomly became available, which we then took. The service afterwards was cool, and it was noticeable that we weren't welcome. Other guests received much friendlier service. The food was okay, but ultimately, this was overshadowed by the unfriendly service. Unfortunately, the restaurant doesn't live up to its name, "cheerful view."

I can wholeheartedly recommend this guesthouse. We stayed here for one night with two families. The rooms are very clean, and the value for money is excellent. Even though the guesthouse is closed that day, they cooked for the guests in the evening. The breakfast is also excellent. We would love to come back.

We stayed here for two nights on our Malerweg hike. The inn was perfectly located for our three-stage hike. The bus to Bad Schandau leaves practically from the front door. The breakfast left nothing to be desired, with delicious sausage from the in-house butcher shop. Dinner was also delicious. Many thanks again to the landlady, the Kliche family.

Highly recommended! We dined on the terrace – a wonderful view over a large part of Saxon Switzerland. The service was very friendly and the food was good. We'd be happy to go back.

We visited the restaurant. The service was great. The view from the outside area is also fantastic. The dining room itself is not that inviting. The inn stopped there in the 90s. My food wasn't that great either. If you don't like meat or just like poultry, there are unfortunately not many delicious dishes

For me, the Heiterer Blick inn was the perfect stopover between the second and third stages of the Malerweg. The food was really good – down-to-earth, fresh and just right after a long day of hiking. The service was friendly, attentive and pleasantly quick. Particularly nice: I even got two ibuprofen for my knee pain - that was real hospitality and made the stay even more pleasant. For anyone who hikes the Malerweg and needs a good meal and a friendly break: absolute recommendation!

We were there for lunch on a Sunday. The service staff is very friendly and attentive, our old husky lady was also allowed in. The kitchen team does an excellent job!!! I would describe it as good bourgeois cuisine with very good quality and attractive portions! The evening menu also appealed to us... So we'll be back!

We went to the restaurant to eat with children and thought it was nice. The service was attentive and quick. A small play area was available for the kids. The food was local and delicious, so of course a few things were prepared so that we could serve it quickly in times of larger crowds. Of course, the view of Saxon Switzerland while eating is very cool when the weather is nice.

I and my two companions cannot recommend this restaurant. We were looking forward to delicious, warm food after a long hike and were quite disappointed. Unfortunately, the food didn't meet our expectations and it really wasn't of good quality: it tasted like it had been warmed up quickly in the microwave, so it wasn't completely warm, it was pretty dry and the seasoning was very bland. The service was fine and we received the food and drinks very quickly. Despite the location and the beautiful view of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, we will definitely never come back.

We were lucky enough to be there on the slaughter days and to be able to order from the special menu in the restaurant. Mega tasty and top service. It is, must not and should not be a 5* restaurant! There is the best home cooking ever! The butcher shop on the ground floor should remain a secret. The brawn in the glass is pure sin! Thanks for this experience! Every time you visit Saxon Switzerland, you have to eat at Heiteren Blick at least once. The food is good, home-style and very tasty. Even I, who don't eat meat, can find something delicious here. Even for my sister, who only eats vegan, the waitress was able to recommend something for her. It's really worth going here. We have been here so many times now and have never been disappointed. But you should make a reservation.

Delicious dishes that are also a little more expensive than the “average inn” in the region. We had a total of four different main courses on our table and each dish was a culinary delight. The portions are also big enough to fill you up even if you're really hungry. Reservation in advance is highly recommended.

We've been there several times. The food is always delicious, the staff is friendly and quick and the location and view are wonderful.

The name “country inn” completely applies here. Starting with the furnishings - authentic without a lot of frills and I would say nostalgic. Maybe traditional or stuck in time, but still okay. The service was friendly and courteous, impeccable on the spot. I had a solyanka as a starter. The taste was excellent, I could easily have eaten two or three more bowls of it. The level could have been raised again if the bread served was either briefly toasted or toasted. The main course consisted of roast wild boar with roasted potatoes and red cabbage. Well made in terms of taste and craftsmanship. The portion was also decent. The sauce could have been stronger, but was still good. I'm complaining at a high level here. Can definitely be recommended!

The Heitere Blick is a special restaurant in Saxon Switzerland. The food has been very good for decades (we celebrated our wedding there 25 years ago), the waitresses are surprisingly friendly even when there are a lot of visitors and the view is in a league of its own. Please keep it up.

A beautiful and probably the only restaurant in Altendorf. The food is a little meat-heavy, but it was very tasty and there are also vegetarian options. At the end of the 3rd stage of the Malerweg, we were very happy to be able to stop here.
