We were a hiking group of 6 from October 26th to October 29th. in the "cheerful look" Great boss, attentive staff and everyone is very friendly. We felt like we were with friends. Rooms very clean and invitingly furnished, The breakfast and food in the inn were fantastic and very tasty. Prices are also completely reasonable, whether for the room, breakfast or in the inn, We would love to come back soon 🙂 See you soon ❤️

We ended up here through a recommendation - super nice hosts, clean rooms furnished with love, excellent cuisine, friendly staff. Added to this is the fantastic location, so you can safely leave your car behind if you want to explore Saxon Switzerland

Every time you visit Saxon Switzerland, you have to eat at Heiteren Blick at least once. The food is good, home-style and very tasty. Even I, who don't eat meat, can find something delicious here. Even for my sister, who only eats vegan, the waitress was able to recommend something for her. It's really worth going here. We have been here so many times now and have never been disappointed. But you should make a reservation.

Delicious dishes that are also a little more expensive than the “average inn” in the region. We had a total of four different main courses on our table and each dish was a culinary delight. The portions are also big enough to fill you up even if you're really hungry. Reservation in advance is highly recommended.

I've eaten here several times in both 2024 and 2023. Always been very satisfied. Good food, cozy design and courteous staff. During the holiday season, advance reservation is recommended.

We've been there several times. The food is always delicious, the staff is friendly and quick and the location and view are wonderful.

The name “country inn” completely applies here. Starting with the furnishings - authentic without a lot of frills and I would say nostalgic. Maybe traditional or stuck in time, but still okay. The service was friendly and courteous, impeccable on the spot. I had a solyanka as a starter. The taste was excellent, I could easily have eaten two or three more bowls of it. The level could have been raised again if the bread served was either briefly toasted or toasted. The main course consisted of roast wild boar with roasted potatoes and red cabbage. Well made in terms of taste and craftsmanship. The portion was also decent. The sauce could have been stronger, but was still good. I'm complaining at a high level here. Can definitely be recommended!

The Heitere Blick is a special restaurant in Saxon Switzerland. The food has been very good for decades (we celebrated our wedding there 25 years ago), the waitresses are surprisingly friendly even when there are a lot of visitors and the view is in a league of its own. Please keep it up.

Lovingly maintained inn with excellent cuisine, the best breakfast and unbeatable service. The in-house herbal liqueur is highly recommended!!

A beautiful and probably the only restaurant in Altendorf. The food is a little meat-heavy, but it was very tasty and there are also vegetarian options. At the end of the 3rd stage of the Malerweg, we were very happy to be able to stop here.

Unfortunately the service was very unfriendly, we had to wait forever for the order, then the food and again for the bill. The food was ok, the (apparently) thawed frozen vegetables were not salted. The view is magnificent.

Then you walk through your legs in stage 3 of the Malerweg and then arrive at a closed Gasthaus Heiterer Blick. “Friendly walking” and closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Friendly ;)

The room was sufficiently large and brightly furnished. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. However, leaving the window open overnight wasn't the best idea, as the traffic noise robs you of some sleep. At least if you have a room facing the street. One lady from the staff may have had a bad day. Otherwise the food was tasty and plentiful. Price-performance is good cheap 👍

Reservation recommended if you want to enjoy the beautiful view - which you can only get from the outside terrace. Unfortunately we weren't really lucky with the food - the veal schnitzel was very thick and too fatty. The consistency of the fried potatoes tasted like potato salad - unfried and oily. A pity. But definitely recommended for a drink with the view.

The view is great. You might want to invest and install panoramic windows that reach further down. This makes it even more attractive and will definitely attract more response as it ensures a better view. The food tastes good. Only the meat should be seared briefly and then cooked for a longer time at a low temperature. It was very dry. Service was polite and the food was at the table very quickly. Priced quite reasonably too.

Unfortunately, the food didn't meet our expectations at all. The steak was swimming in fat, the vegetables were frozen and not seasoned at all. The ambience, well... the terrace is great! Inside is the furnishings from the 70s (?) We sat right next to the curtain of a stage (?) and were therefore very much on display. The staff tried really hard, but couldn't compensate for the ambience and the really bland and greasy food. We were really looking forward to dinner on vacation, but it was a bust. The pictures here reflect a completely wrong picture, unless we caught a temporary worker...

Dort kehre ich jedesmal ein, wenn ich in der Gegend wandere. Gute Küche, guter Service, gute Preise. Immer wieder gerne. Update 2023: Essen ist teurer geworden, das Bier war nicht richtig kalt und der Service hat nachgelassen. Schade!
