Hotel Ludwigs in Füssen

A friendly welcome, a clean and nicely furnished room. The location in the pedestrian zone is fine for one night, and the smell of the kitchen wafting up to the room in the evening is bearable. However, I wouldn't spend a longer stay here. The shower has a somewhat unusual temperature control, which switches to a healthy alternating bath, with the water suddenly changing from pleasantly warm to very cold. On the other hand, the breakfast was very good and, at €12.50 (normally €16.50), pleasantly affordable for hotel guests. A real plus point for this hotel.

Right in the old town, very convenient for eating or shopping. Close to Marienbridge or Neuschwanstein Castle. It is a quiet and beautiful small town. The parking lot is behind the hotel, which is a plus for those who drive.

In the center of fussen. Pedestrian zone. At night great atmosphere with people playing music. Good treatment and spectacular restaurant. The breakfast buffet is also very well stocked.

Only about the restaurant: the service is great, however, the food is frozen fries, frozen nuggets, frozen breaded fish, and powdered sauce. It's a shame.

I spent one night there in January. The room was fine, with two beds, even though I was alone. It was quiet and decorated in a classic style. The bathroom was clean and also in good condition. However, the table was too small, making it difficult to work with a laptop. The room was good value for money. Parking is available but not included in the price and costs €9.50 per night. The breakfast was good and plentiful, with bread, cheese, ham, yogurt, pastries and fruit. However, it will be charged additionally. There is also a restaurant in the hotel for dinner, but I personally wasn't impressed with the value for money.

A great hotel with a great ambience and incredibly nice staff. Our stay was very relaxing, we would love to come back. The entire hotel was very clean and the guest's well-being was always taken into consideration.

Excellent hotel, located in the center of this enchanting village. Spacious, warm and comfortable room. Spotless and functional bathroom. The beds are very comfortable and there are plenty of pillows available. Breakfast, at 12.50 euros per person, of excellent quality and truly varied. Highly recommended

Our stay at Hotel Ludwigs was simply fantastic! We received a warm welcome upon arrival and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms are stylishly furnished, very clean and offer a high level of comfort. The comfortable bed and the quiet atmosphere in particular ensured a restful night. The breakfast was a real highlight: a large selection of fresh, high-quality products that left nothing to be desired. The central location of the hotel is also perfect - everything is within walking distance, and yet it is pleasantly quiet. Overall, our stay at Hotel Ludwigs was simply great. We can recommend it without reservation and are already looking forward to our next visit! 😊✨

We stayed here for a short trip over the weekend and loved it! We had booked the deluxe shared room. Impeccable service, comfortable and clean hotel room, modern furniture and a delicious, rich breakfast buffet! 😊 There were even small, high-quality care products available for us in the bathroom. We felt very comfortable and would like to come back soon!

We stayed at the hotel and also we got dinner at their restaurant. Hotel: the room was quite spacious, clean and soundproof. All the main amenities were there with the exception of a fridge and an electric kettle. The bed was made out of two single beds next to each other. The private parking was good and easy to reach from the backstreet following the hotel’s instructions. The breakfast, at the cost of € 12,50 per person was served with a wide range and was of good quality. Restaurant: the food was excellent and abundant, service was quite good as all the staff was polite. The only downside is the water that is pretty expensive. We would like to come back here again.

The rooms correspond to this price range and are fully equipped. Unfortunately there is no elevator and the stairs are narrow. But there are security issues: I checked in on January 6th. When I was showering at seven in the evening, the smoke alarm in the room suddenly went off and I was shocked. I went outside and found that the entire building had alarms going off for twenty minutes. An employee brought a boiling kettle from the kitchen and firefighters arrived. But no one explained to me what happened until I checked out the next day. I asked the lady at the front desk and she didn't know anything about it and claimed that it happens a lot here. Additionally, I asked the front desk if the lake was dry as stated online and she assured us that it was full. But we wasted a morning and still only saw the dry lake.

There are many delicious restaurants nearby. The rooms are very large. Even if there are four of you, for example, you usually get a five-person room.

Rooms are nice for a smaller town and in a nice walkable area. Front desk hours are limited so be sure to arrive within the stated timeframe. Staff spoke some english so that really helped!

A big compliment to the chef Cüneyt at the Hotel Ludwigs in Füssen! The food was simply excellent - the Bavarian cuisine was brought to the point and interpreted perfectly in terms of taste. What was particularly impressive was that on such a busy evening as New Year's Eve, everything ran smoothly despite the large number of guests. The dishes came to the table quickly and in the best quality, without even a hint of rush. Everything was beautifully balanced and every bite was a delight. No wishes were left unfulfilled – simply a fantastic experience. We ate here and the cuisine was excellent. Even though the waiters were a bit lazy, we really enjoyed our time there. By the way, dogs are allowed here.

Ottimo ristorante, siamo rimasti tutti soddisfatti. 0 coda all'ingresso, servizio velocissimo e piatti davvero buoni e abbondanti, nessuno ha sentito l'esigenza di prendere un secondo piatto o il dolce. Buonissima la "lumberjack's steak", il più buono tra i piatti che abbiamo preso.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The location couldn’t be better—right in the city center, just a quick 3-5 minute walk, which made exploring so easy and convenient. The room was beautifully decorated, exactly as shown in the photos on the booking website, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They went above and beyond by giving me excellent recommendations for sightseeing and helped me make the most of my stay. They also introduced me to the Füssen Card, which allowed me to use public transport for free—a great bonus for getting around the city! Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its perfect location, stylish rooms, and exceptional service. I would definitely stay here again!

Ein großes Plus ist die durchgehend geöffnete Küche mit regionalen Speisen. Es ist zwar keine Sterneküche, aber wir waren zufrieden und die reichlich bemessenen Portionen haben uns geschmeckt. Das Personal ist aufmerksam und freundlich.

Se volete mangiare in stile bavarese, questo è il posto che fa per voi. Personale gentile ed attento e piatti abbondanti.

Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Manches ist etwas überteuert, aber nicht alles. Wir hatten Suppe, Salat und Schupfnudeln und waren mit der Qualität zufrieden.

I've been there for the second time now. Very clean room, super nice staff and a delicious breakfast with lots of choice. The restaurant is also recommended, it was one of the best Viennese style schnitzels I have ever eaten.

A few days ago we stayed in this accommodation for one night. We were accommodated in house 1 and I can only judge this. Positive: - very good location right on the town square - rich breakfast Negative: - very, very small room - some unfriendly staff - Hair in the bed! - Hair in the shower! - dirty room and bathroom - loud music in the stairwell - Hot breakfast items were cold The bed was then remade and the music could not be heard in the room. All in all, I wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

Good looking room, although little small. Huge difficulties to check in later, after reseption was closed. So many calls and emails, but finally it was possible. I dont understand why they just didnt give room number and other information how come later 🤷🏼‍♂️ Anyway, situation is good, just middle of Fussen. No fridge in rooms, which is big minus. Parking lot is big plus.

Hotel in the center, room not fantastic but normal. Owner unsympathetic and incorrect in accepting people's opinions regarding the structure and services. The lack of an elevator is absurd, the mere possibility of having breakfast at the price of €12.00 each is absurd. Internal parking at the price of €9.50. The quality and price of the dishes in the kitchen are positive. Professional and polite staff. Small room and uncomfortable single bed. For a 4 star hotel and at that price......I won't stay here again!

We were there for dinner in a larger group. Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio wasn't right at all. You could feel and hear tension among the staff. Pretty unprofessional when you as a guest notice everything.

Restaurant Ludwigs is a popular restaurant in Fussen downtown that operates into late night (10pm), while many other restaurant closes earlier. The night we visited, the restaurant is full with all tables at the street filled. However, we felt that the food quality is only so-so, and the food is rather on the expensive side.

Have to agree with last review - microwaved food. Ok, we came late and our favourite places in Füssen were already closed, but still - this was a bit too much. Fish was microwaved, local potato salad was the worst I had in Bayern during many years of visiting - it tasted like straight from the supermarket. One beer, one water and the bill - 50 euros (and we both ordered dishes below 20 euros. Unbelievable!

The rooms were nicely furnished but unfortunately a bit lower quality, great views are only available in individual rooms However, the price-performance ratio in the restaurant is a joke, way too expensive so I'd rather go eat somewhere else

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rich breakfast buffet was great with very good value for money. The location is unbeatable. Unfortunately, the beds were very uncomfortable, the mattress was always slipping and you were lying in bed on a slope. The access to the three rooms in House 3 is not attractive; There is a very unpleasant smell in the hallway, there is an ashtray hanging in front of the entrance, which always made us walk through a cloud of smoke. Value for money hotel poor.

Restaurant in the hotel (I didn't use it, but it looked good). There is no elevator. Parking paid separately, but very convenient, inside the hotel

The rooms are very small and have few amenities (e.g. no refrigerator). But they are very modern and chic and always clean. Beds are very good. Our bathroom was also modern and had a window. Breakfast costs €12.50 per person. Not exactly cheap and a disgrace for a hotel like this. There is nothing regional and all products seem to be purely wholesale products. It's probably not fresh at all. The scrambled eggs most likely come from a tetra pack. At least they could have offered an Allgäu mountain cheese or something local. Unfortunately, coffee is also terrible. We were also disappointed with the hotel's own restaurant. The staff is friendly and helpful. The parking situation is well solved for the location. The location itself is ideal.

Cute hotel in the old town, 5 minutes walking from the Füssen train station. I had very nice view on the third floor. Breakfast was also nice, cost 12.50 euros. Room was not bug, however was enough for me. Unfortunately was no fridge in the room.

A nice hotel in the middle of Füssen. Rooms were very nicely decorated. Stayed in the hotel for one night. A nice gentleman at reception. Paid parking spaces available.

It was a very clean hotel. We cleaned every nook and cranny every day. Above all, the employees were very kind and supportive. Conversation went smoothly, and all of them had received very good English education. It was a time when I was young and had fun every day.

Nettes ambiente, nette Kellner und sehr hundefreundlich. Wir hatten 2x die Würstchenpfanne, die war zwar lecker und auch mal etwas anderes, jedoch schrecken die Preise etwas ab.

This place is absolutely beautiful! The staff were all amazing and spoke great English. The restraunt was beautiful as well and the ffod and bier was amazing! VERY clean! Would highly recommend!

Die Schmankerl-Platte für 29,80 bot reichlich Fleisch, eigentlich eine gute Auswahl verschiedener Spezialitäten ... doch das Fleisch war durchweg trocken und zäh. Lediglich der Service war ok ....die Speise ist nicht zu empfehlen. Wein und Getränke hochpreisig.

The hotel has a top location at a good price. The breakfast is extra class. Lots of fish, fruit and enough sausage selection. (See pictures) The rooms are OK but cheaply furnished. The bathroom is new. Now the negative, the hotel is very noisy that you can hear everything who is walking up the stairwell or one floor above. I had a single room on the 3rd floor. The hotel has 4 floors but unfortunately NO ELEVATOR!!!! But I will still come back because the price and the breakfast convinced me.

Very much enjoyed the Schupfnudeln. Perfectly seasoned and cooked with bacon and caramelised onion. Yum!! Friendly service, lots of choices on the menu. The Kaiserschmarn was lovely a fluffle, not too sweet...just right. Great beer and very good food (lunch).

ein beilagen salat für €7,90. welker rucola auf dem salat, ein dressing auf autobahn raststätten niveau und nicht mal eine scheibe brot dazu. die als knusprig gebratene angepriesene forelle war alles andere als...! und zu guter letzt ein 1/4 liter mittelklasse wein für €9,80... da möchte jemand gerne sterne küchen preise nehmen, bringt aber leider keine leistung. was ich auch nicht schön fand, der restaurant chef machte seine abrechnung im sichtbetreich der gäste, er zählte sein geld und die kreditkartenbelege. das war eine enttäuschung 😞

Ein Glass Rotwein für 10,00 €….naja vielleicht war er aus König Ludwig dem 2. seinem Weinkeller….zumindest schmeckte er so…. matschige Bratkartoffeln und 2 kleine zähe Schweineschnitzel mit aufgewärmter Zigeunersosse wahrscheinlich aus dem Glass für 23,90 € reissen es nicht raus!!! Leider drauf reingefallen…. Ach ja über das Bauernsalätchen für 7,60 € sag ich mal nix so war er auch!!

The location is top class, right in the small old town of Füssen, everything is within walking distance and it is still quiet. The breakfast is highly recommended, there is nothing missing. The restaurant has a large menu but the food is not really good, mediocre at best. The rooms are slightly furnished in a royal style but if you look closely, the shower door is cobbled together and leaking or the chandeliers and lamps are hanging super crooked. The staff was always friendly and accommodating to us.

Excellent location, the very center. Many places are within walking distance. Delicious breakfasts. From the minuses - small rooms, although with everything necessary and too soft mattresses. There is also no elevator, and it is not very convenient to climb the stairs with small children.

Hatten ein wunderschönes Wellness-Wochenende im Spa-Hotel König Ludwig. Bei den gehobenen Preisen ein seltener Luxus. Gutes Essen, schöne Sauna-Landschaft… Vorallem die beiden Sauna-Meister István und Richard waren jeden Cent wert. Sie machten jeden Aufguss zum wahren Highlight und schafften eine unglaubliche angenehme Atmosphäre :-)

Personal freundlich und nett. Lage super. Frühstück überdurchschnittlich für den dafür aufgerufenen Preis. Hotelzimmer sauber und ziemlich neu - nur leider haben wir nicht das gebuchte Superior Zimmer erhalten…. Auch auf die Reklamation hin dass wir offensichtlich ein falsches Zimmer bekommen haben, wurde uns nur gesagt, dass das unser zugewiesenes Zimmer sei. Und das obwohl ein Foto von exakt diesem zugewiesenen Zimmer selbst auf der Homepage des Hotels ist, als Beispiel eines Zimmers der niedrigeren Kategorie. Und dieses Zimmer war eben so klein (auch auf dem Fluchtplan im Zimmer zu erkennen dass dies mit Abstand das kleinste Zimmer auf dem Stockwerk war) dass nicht mal Platz war den Koffer auszubreiten. Essen im dazugehörigen Restaurant war geschmacklich gut, ist aber Preis-Leistungs-technisch im Vergleich zu den umliegenden Lokalitäten deutlich niedriger anzusetzen.

Waren hier nur zum essen definitiv keine Empfehlung Knödel waren aus der Pfanni Tüte und kalt.Das Fleisch war zu vergleichen mit einem Waschlappen. Definitiv keine Empfehlung essen zu gehen.

Ich kann über die Zimmer nichts sagen, aber das Essen und der Service ist immer 1a. Wir kommen hier regelmäßig zum Essen aber auch nur um was zu trinken hier her. Schon allein das Ambiente ist so schön😊

Leider waren zeitgleich laute Kinder mit da und es ist recht hellhörig. Standort mitten in der Stadt, zwar praktisch, weil man zu Fuß überall hinkommt, die Wegbeschreibung zum Parkplatz ist eher naja. Ein netter Herr hat uns geholfen, zum Parkplatz zu kommen. Schön war, da der Parkplatz voll war, durften wir nach einem Anruf in eine eigene und abgeschlossene Garage nebenan fahren. Das Zimmer war erst nicht so ganz gemütlich, aber man hat sich dran gewöhnt, als es mal aufgeheizt war und man was gegessen hatte. Positiv war, dass die Heizung und das Wasser sehr heiß wurden. Mit Ausschlafen wird es aber nichts, da schon früh die Reinigungskräfte unterwegs sind und man das durchhört. Allerdings war es günstig und nur zum schlafen völlig in Ordnung. Es war aber alles sauber und das Bad sah neu gemacht aus. Nur leider sehr hellhörig

Aufgrund der sehr guten Bewertungen haben wir uns für dieses Lokal entschieden. Kurrzum... Weizen vom Fass warm, Lendchen mit Käsespatzle Standard aber hochpreisig... Der Abschuss: "Zwiebelrostbraten aus der Rinderlende mit Käsespatzle und Röstzwiebeln" Es war definitiv Roastbeef und niemals Lende. Der Kellner antwortete, darauf angesprochen, mit "keine Ahnung"!!! Röstzwiebeln waren aus der Dose wie am Hot-Dog-Imbiss... Das haben wir noch nie erlebt! Insgesamt alles fad... Sorry, aber das war mehr als enttäuschend für einen wirklich völlig überteuerten Preis!
